Stars glittered above like ice in the dark blue sky, the moon hung low and a few of its rays shone through the foliage, lighting up the aqua pool of water, and bathing the forest in silver. The view was like that of a fairytale or a dream, mystical in every way. Electric yellow eyes looked into the water her reflection rippling. Scars covered this females navy and brown fur, rings of silver adorned her chest and hips. A single gold fish swam in lazy circles around the pool. The night was silent and all that could be heard were the trickling of the stream that fed the clear pool and the warm wind rustling the leaves of the trees.
A flash of light lit up the clearing and the golden fish now lay dead on the ground in front of Tor. She ate it quickly tossing the skeleton into the bushes. She lifted her head to the sky and howled, a ghostly howl that would be carried by the wind for miles across the jungle. She had been officially accepted into the mafia only a last night but had not had time to heal her injuries caused by Scorch, her leg being the worst. She had walked on three legs for the day reaching the Clear-eyed Pool by sunset then taken a nap until midnight.
She looked down at her bleeding leg and closed her eyes, focusing her energy on her wound and felt her tendons healing and her wound closing up. She opened her eyes again to it being fully healed but the sudden loss of energy had made her tired. She paused a few moments then focused on a few on her back closing them up aswell. She normally would go off by herself to practice on minor cuts and scrapes and she had gotten pretty good at it. But she never wanted anyone to know she had this ability just incase. She finished clearing up her wounds and then turned her eyes to the shadows not really looking at anything in particular but more like daydreaming of what was to come.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] The crisp night air pulled at the wolf's primal senses, calling out to him as it clung to his fur in small drops. The large male crept through the thick forest vegetation, eyes and ears alert to all the dangerous wonders of the jungle; night was a time for mystery and adrenaline. Despite his large frame he moved silently, slinking from shadow to shadow as he searched for new prey. The fire lupus was still trying to pull energy back into his body after the battle with the enticing Tor and so he remained out of sight from other wolves.
The gash on his side still leaked blood on the forest floor, but Scorch had accustomed him self to the pain. In fact, he was certain that when it scarred over he would had a distinguished jagged scar and was rather looking forward to it; it seemed females were enticed by scars as it demonstrated a dangerous nature. Chuckling quietly to him self he pushed on, wet leaves grabbing at his thick fur.
In the near distance a beautiful howl arose, the sound an enticing melody as it drifted across Scorch's tainted soul. There was little doubt in his mind whom that haunting cry belonged to and he raised his head to release a howl of answer. His own deep voice radiated through the night, strong and powerful it spoke volumes about the caller.
Excitement gripped him as he sped through the night heading toward the nearby Clear-eyed Pool. He was certain that was where the call had rose from and the idea of seeing the golden eyed female helped speed him along the way. As he neared the pool he saw the distinct shape of the wolf that had infiltrated the confines and fortress of his mind and he stopped, his breath slightly caught in his throat.
The lighting could not have been better and the sight that greeted him was too much to put into words. Swallowing Scorch tried to regain his composure as he melded into the shadows and reappeared at Tor`s side. He sauntered to her side, the moon turning his ocean blue eyes into liquid silver as the muscles beneath his thick fur rippled lightly. A smile of greeting spread across his maw as one sharp fang gleamed in the darkness. "Hello gorgeous, I find myself rather delighted to have caught up with you tonight. What keeps you up so late?" His voice rumbled from deep within his chest, a powerful flow that could remain calm and erupt into rapids just as easily. Moving fluidly he leaned into the amazing lupuse, rubbing up against her side. [/scrolly]

Tor was shocked by the sudden appearance of Scorch, she hadn't noticed his approach and was shaken out of her daydream by the feel of his fur against hers. She gave him a nod of greeting and a slight smile, she was glad to see him. Ever since the battle of Blazing Red she had taken a certain liking to the firey male and that like had been growing ever since. She turned her electric yellow eyes on his ocean blue ones, "Scorch, fancy seeing you here at this time of night. How are you? How are those wounds treating you?" Tor preffered to ask the questions rather than be asked them, she would only answer if she had an answer or if it was of the utmost importance.
She sat up and surveyed his coat finding the wounds she had inflicted was harder than she thought due to his thick fur and red splatters as markings. Her eyes finally found the spots and saw that a few were still bleeding, her eyes flicked back to Scorch to see if he was looking then back to the wound focusing on it, and stopping the bleeding completely. She leaned into him and gave a quiet sigh.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Scorch noticed the lack of response to his question, but thought nothing of it; it had been but small talk really. However, he did not hesitate to reply as he was rather adept at talking and responding to questions. It was a trait he had developed during his service for the Death Squad and it had certainly proved its worth time and time again. In a sleek voice he answered, "Oh top notch my dear and working on moving up as usual. I must say that out of the wolves I have met during my brief presence here you do seem to know what you want and how to get it, though this is but an observation of course."
He glanced over when Tor leaned in to him, slightly surprised as he was not accustomed to shows of affection of this kind. He continued on with his talk, "I myself have a lot of plans for the future, it would seem this pack is a rather well founded one, and though I had certainly briefly considered organizing a conquer of it, I believe that there is a better path to observe. That Flynn fellow appears to be a well rounded fellow, though I have yet to decide how far I can trust him." He sighed out loud as exhaustion weighed heavy on his shoulders. He had been very busy of late, scoping out the land, putting plans into effect to prove his worth and gain rank and titles, socializing with other wolves to determine whom would pose a threat and whom would be a worthy ally and had fought quite a bit with a variety of individuals.
The grueling routine was certainly necessary, and the fighting was but typical of his previous positions, but sadly it was far from over. He believed he had found a good ally in Tor, and she would be the one he could trust and so he proposed, "To be perfectly frank and to the point, I will be working to rise high and I have been searching for a partner to confer in and work together with. As far as I can tell you are more then worthy, your fighting skills are remarkable, your drive is addictive and you really are quite breath taking on the whole. It would give me great pleasure if I could count on a fabulous creature such as yourself as a confidante and friend, your permission allowing that is." He fell silent, the ball was in the delightful and intoxicating female's court and he had stated his piece. If she accepted it could be the beginning of a rather fruitful partnership. [/scrolly]

Tor smiled, "I would be delighted. And I would have to say the same about Flynn, and most other wolves, I meet. But for some reason it hasn't taken me long to trust you, but I feel as if there is a reason I shouldn't." Her smile disappeared and she suddenly felt insecure. She stood up and shook off some of the dirt on her fur she took a few steps backwards when a sudden pain went up her back leg. She turned her head to see a gash that she had left unhealed. She turned her eyes back to Scorch to check if he was looking but she wasn't quite sure. She quickly focused her energy on the wound and felt it heal and hoped that Scorch hadn't seen her.
Tor looked back to Scorch her yellow eyes meeting his, as she continued her paws accidently got caught on a root and she tripped, stumbling clumsily into the pool. She gave a huge splash when she landed that she had soaked Scorch, she got up swearing quietly at herself for such a stupid mistake in front of the male. She was still standing in the pool unaware that she had splashed Scorch so she shook herself splattering more water on him. Still standing in the pool of water, her pelt dripping, only then did she look to Scorch. Her eyes widened then an apologetic look entered them. "Oops, I'm so sorry about that." She looked at the trees behind him her pelt hot with embarassment, usually she didn't care what others thought of her when she messed up but for some reason this time, she did.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Scorch nodded his head at her response, she was certainly wise not to fully trust him. There was a side to him that even he could not understand, and it had become more persistent of late always pushing at his resolve and demanding his constant attention. The darkness was how he had survived and how he continued to grow stronger, however it was also a ruthless force that would kill anyone in its path, no matter the cost to Scorch. He feared this could happen to Tor if she hung around him, but it was a risk he was willing to take for the time being.
Once again the familiar disease invaded his mind, his fur prickling up in defense as a putrid smell filled his nostrils. The specter was back, and he was close. He growled low at the figure, hate burning in his own eyes; if he could but slay the figure Tor's life might be safe. But he could nothing about it but sit like a meager puppy. It grinned at his evident discomfort and spoke in a cruel voice, " You do realize she is nothing but a thing to use for your fill your own needs. You don't really think I will allow you to keep you new pet do you? I am merely trying to warn you dear boy, use her well then leave her, because if you don't end it when the time comes, I surely will."
He could not be certain if the ghost spoke the truth, he had no way of knowing if he could carry out his threats. However, he did know that the ghost could alter Scorch's feeling, and he could feel the urge to take advantage of the female growing, like a sickly perfume intoxicating his control. But he fought back in his mind, a silent snarl of rage on his snout. No one would control his actions but him self, Spirit be damned.
He was mercifully brought back to the present by a large splash and the sensation of cold water soaking his pelt. Gasping in shock he jumped up rapidly only to be sprayed once more as Tor shook her self off. Too shocked by the sensation that the ghost had managed to infiltrate in his mind he felt no anger at being wet, shaken by the experience at his core. He remained motionless until realizing that Tor was looking at him. He had not even noticed that she seemed embarrassed. He mumbled, "Its no trouble, no trouble at all...Don't worry about it." He glanced at her, and decided he needed to confess about his haunting specter if she was to be his partner, though what caused him to think in such a manner he could not tell; it seemed Tor was bringing out the more sane wolf in him.
Slowly he started to talk, "I can't be sure Tor, but I think I must be loosing my sanity. Have you ever seen something that just should not be possible, that is so terrifying you are sure you've died and gone to hell? I have, and I think it may be the Devil himself...I am talking about ghosts you see my lovely, the kind that revel in fear, mine to be precise. I don't know what he wants with me, but just as you seem to call on a saner side of me, so does he eradicate the darkest side." He could not look at the female, for he could not face the consequences of his disturbing words. At best she would disregard him and never see him again...at best. [/scrolly]

Tor looked up at Scorch only to see a silent snarl on his face she lifted a paw to take a step forward towards him when he started to speak. She listened to him from where she stood still in the pool. When he finished a horrified look appeared on her face, amber eyes filled with fear. She remained dead still not knowing what to think. "Scorch I-I don't know what to say, nor do I know if I can believe you but I also know that if it weren't real why would you tell me and the fact that you trust me enough to tell me. These days I never know what to believe, but I promise you I will try. I will help you with this, in any way I can, that is if you'll let me." she hid the fear from her eyes and stepped out of the pool then started towards him but still unsure.
Ever since Tor was young she had never been sure of anything. Never sure of which way was the right one or what she was feeling was love or hate. She was always hesitant and shy when it came to feelings, which is why she hides them in the deep confines of her mind but when they do come forth she easily gets confused at what she is feeling. And here right now, looking at Scorch she didn't know if what she felt was real or true but as it grew stronger she knew it must be. Ever since she had met the handsome male in the Battle of Blazing Red she had grown to like him and that liking had grown with their last few meetings and now that she knew he had trusted her enough to tell her something that horrifying no matter the consequences had raised that liking.
She made up her mind and continued towards Scorch placing her muzzle in his neck fur then backing up sliding her muzzle up to his ear "I love you." her words were so quiet she didn't think he could hear her, as she hadn't fully made up her mind when she had said that. But for some reason she wanted him to know but at the same time didn't. She didn't know if he felt the same way and didn't want to seem like a fool if he didn't but it was to late now she would have to first see if he had heard her then see how he felt. She walked back until they were standing eye to eye, a small hardly noticable smile on her face.
OOC: Note, my first reply was way better and much more detailed the second less and this one is just crap but unfortunately angry bear ate the first two so this will have to do and sorry I havent had enough muse to redo this post until now so sorry for the wait.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] It went beyond his realm of possibility and simply defied reality; he must be completely under a delusion because Tor had not taken off in the opposite direction as any sane wolf should have done. Perhaps part of Scorch had wanted to scare her, terrify her and send her running where she would at least be unharmed by his own demons. It scared him almost as much that she stayed and accepted his confession for it revived a part of him that he had thought had been savagely killed when he was a pup; the part that allowed his to care.
Wryly and with a tinge of despair he answered soberly, “What you should do is run and leave me with my own problems and that is no more then what I’d expect. But as much as it pains me to admit it, I do think that I need help fighting this. And I think that no one but you can really help...It’s a funny thing, but I’ve already let you help, though I cannot begin to explain how.” He let out a short and low laugh, but there was no humour to it, and the sound was that of a wolf with nothing left to do but face that which he fears the most. Scorch mused over that quietly, realizing that perhaps it was not the spectre and the threat of insanity that frightened him anymore, but the reality that Tor could be the one to suffer in the process.
His keen, sharp and still young ears were already attuned to Tor’s voice, and so it was with clarity that he heard her confession. The three words, which he would have normally chewed up and spat out, put and iron clad grip over his mind, and he froze. Unable to think or feel he remained empty for a minute, but it felt like days spent under the crushing weight of a boulder. It was not that he disliked hearing the words from Tor, but that he could not make sense of his own feelings, he simply had not been taught how. Feelings were weakness personalized, but Tor was far from weak, he knew that for a reality. So then if such emotions were not a weakness, then his whole ethical foundation was a lie. It was this realization that knocked the wind out of him as so many of his own emotions, that he had worked endlessly to destroy, flooded his mind. However, the one emotion that saved him from drowning was the strong knowledge that he cared for this wondrous female. Her beauty had first enslaved his fascination, her strength has cast his undivided attention in steel, and something else that he could not name had infiltrated his blood like an addictive elixir that when abstained from could kill its host. What the young wolf did not realize was, and perhaps may never, was that the clouded word was Soul.
In a breathless but fully open and honest voice he answered, “I know nothing of the ways of this feeling of love. I have always been taught that it is the greatest sign of failure and weakness. I believed that wholeheartedly, taught it to others myself. But....you’ve changed everything and so fast. I don’t know if my mind agrees with what I am about to say, but for once I think I will have to listen to my heart, even if it kills me.” He paused to draw in his breath and summon enough courage, “But I feel that I love you too.”[/scrolly]
