Karsh'ka moved around the den area, her thick tail thrashing around. She was only a pup, and everyone treated her like she was useless. How dare they. Granted they had no proof that she was any good at anything, but she was alive wasn't she?
And then it didn't help that her father was useless. Her father. At one time she thought she would eat him, but as her alligator side pointed out, he wasn't even worth it. True. Where was everyone anyway, she wanted someone to dredge information from, information about anyone, anything.

Apollo was just outside of the den he was practicing his flight skills but he could only manage to glide a bit over the ground. He spread his wings once more and started to run leaping into the air and flapping he managed to get a few feet higher than his other attempts but he still had trouble with landing. He angled his wings and tail feathers but he was to low to the ground and his foot his a twig and he went tumbling across the ground in a flurry of feet and feathers. He stood up, untangling himself, and stared at his wings. They were filthy, muttering under his breath he carefully straightened and cleaned each feather until his wings were perfect, then he spent some time cleaning his fur. He was a very clean pup and wanted to keep the image of perfection.
He trotted over to the nearest tree and scored his long black claws against it, sharpening them to points and leaving claw marks in the tree. He folded his dark brown wings against his side and trotted over to the den. He ducked his head and looked inside, his gold eyes scanning the darkness and stopping on what he knew was the bulky form of his sister Karsh'ka pacing inside. "Why so restless Karsh'ka?" he asked walking inside, his sisters strength sometimes scared him but she was his sister so he got used to it and usually stayed clear of her when she was in a bad mood. He sat down a bit farther off awaiting the answer to his question.

Apollo. Her brother. He was already trying to fly, perhaps an urge of the eagle side of him. He perhaps was closer than some of her other wolf 'friends'. Between her father and mother, he was someone slightly relate-able. Her mother. A snake in the grass, literally, as another reptile she despised her mother as well. Alligator's weren't picky on what they ate.
Her brother on the other hand was a bird. She had no desire to eat a bird. After all, the feather's were probably nasty. "Aren't you curious about what is outside the pack? No one says anything." She spoke quietly, she wasn't prone to yelling. She decided to relax near a tree, settling down and setting her eyes on her brother. No. Probably not tasty.

"Of course I am but I know I will learn soon enough. Hey I can always just go off by myself and find out, mom and dad aren't even here right now and I'm pretty sure I can't get into to much trouble if I just go exploring around the territory." he turned his head towards her, she didn't seem in such a bad mood, then an idea popped into his head. "Would you like to come with me?" he fanned his tail feathers and spread his wings as if he were preparing to take flight even though he knew he could only make it short distances gliding so far.
He turned around and walked out of the den and into the morning sun and sat down facing the opening of the den. "You coming or not?" Without looking back to see if his sister was following he turned and skipped out into the forest. He started to run his wings and tail feathers spread carrying him a couple of inches off the ground, more just picking up his speed and looking like he was floating above the ground. He continued his gliding, enjoying the feel of the air under his wings. Lost in thought and not even bother to see if his sister was following or keeping up.
He turned his head to see but in that second when he turned back it was to late, letting out an eagle like screech he hit a tree. Falling to the ground with a humph. He got up and shook himself off then looked up at the tree. This one had branches and the lowest he could reach if he jumped high enough. He backed up and gave a running start flapping his wings trying to reach the branch, he missed. He tried once more, just managing to sink his claws into the soft wood and hauling himself up onto the branch. He sat there looking down at the ground, he was going to scare Karsh'ka, he sat there waiting looking like an eagle staring at its prey.

Typical, off exploring. Why not. They wouldn't get very far, and even if they hit a bad part of the swamp Karsh'ka knew SHE would be safe, she didn't mind murky water. Or at least the reptile in her didn't. She watched her brother glide, and she decided she would follow, she had nothing better to do. But she also didn't want to LOOK like she was following for that matter, she didn't want to be the 'go along with whatever' type of person.
Instead she trudged silently off in a slight arc so she wouldn't be following his exact path. He was speedy, and soon left her sight however. She scowled. She continued walking anyway, she would find him eventually.
She then heard a thump some distance ahead. Well, if it wasn't her brother she still wanted to know what it was, she altered he course slightly. She guessed she would be on the location shortly. Where was her useless brother anyway?

Apollo was getting tired of sitting in the tree waiting for his sister, he couldnt seem to see or hear her, he couldnt even scent her but that was the thing with his sister she blended in so well with the ground and her scent was so similiar to it that it was hard to notice her.
Just then he heard something rustling above his head and looked up to see a bird fluttering in some of the higher branches above his head. His belly growled, he just seemed to remember how hungry he was and this bird was quite large and would easily fill him up, maybe he would surprise Karsh'ka with his catch. A pupish smile spread across his face as he slowly but silently started to climb the branches.
He was almost half way up the tree when his hind claws slipped through the bark and it took a lot of flapping to get himself back safely on the branch. He looked back up to see the bird flapping away with a screech of alarm. Muttering to himself he looked back down. He had climbed a lot higher in the tree than hed expected and now was several feet from the ground and with no hopes of getting down unless he flew or fell. He stood there looking down at the ground shaking a worried look in his eyes.
