His eyes scanned the jungle around him for anything of interest. To put it mildly, he was bored. It was noon and he should be finding something to eat soon. But the day was overly hot and sunny. He was feeling a bit lethargic.
He could hear many creatures stirring in the bushes beyond, but he didn't really care to hunt. He almost wanted to nap. But that would be stupid. Sparta would never give into the humiliation of napping at midday when he could be doing something useful. And he wouldn't put it past some of his pack members to try pulling a joke on him while he was out. So what should he do?
He paced around until his eyes caught something of interest. If he hadn't been looking closely at all, he wouldn't have noticed it. Lying between him and the copse of trees was a bit of debris. Nothing special in the jungle, of course. Some creeping vines, a branch or too. And... a snake. It was laying there, almost perfect still, as if laying in wait for a hapless bit of prey to pass by. Sparta knew from experience that it was probably poisonous, being a jungle snake. Though he wasn't particularly familiar with every bit of fauna that crawled through the jungle.
But he'd also never tasted Snake before. What if it tasted good? He could kill it, he was sure. Especially if he used his shadows to help him. But just as he was about to go into stalk mode, he heard a small rustle beyond the camouflaged snake's hiding place.

Apollo had been wandering around for about an hour now and he was so bored out of his mind he had resulted in trying to climb trees. He was an eagle myou, not a squirrel and what he was doing up in a tree he had no idea. He was jumping from tree to tree gliding to each one as practice for his flying but on his last landing the branch had snapped and he had fallen into the bushes. He merely shook himself off and continued on foot. He hadn't realised how hungry he had been until now and he started to look for signs of prey.
So far he had found nothing, but a scent wafted to him from the clearing up ahead. He skipped ahead happily as he knew the scent to be of prey but he had no idea what kind it was. He looked over the bushes his golden eyes landing on a snake lying as still as a statue on a rock. He spread his dark brown wing and parted the bushes then with a burst of speed leaped out of the bushes straight at the snake, but he tripped over his own paws and tumbling over to the rock. Bye the time he got up and shook himself off the snake had slithered off. He turned around only to see a large green wolf with horns in front of him. He wagged his tail and trotted over to him. "Hello there, who are you?"
OOC: Got distracted sorry it took so long and is not to good.

The pup was stupid if he thought he could hunt in the first place. He was a total moron if he thought he could win a fight against a snake. It would've killed him had he not alerted the reptile to his own presence. What's more, the pup had haplessly tried to take his own lunch. Sparta was not pleased.
"Hungry and annoyed." He said icily in response to the pup's question. "Do you honestly think you could kill a snake?" He grumbled, before switching his attention elsewhere, looking for more food. Pups couldn't properly hunt for themselves unless they were at least a year or two old. This pup clearly was not. What a fool.
But Sparta, being a seasoned hunter and soldier, could hunt for himself. Even when he was young, he was a good hunter. His skills had recently been made easier by his shadow ability, but he didn't have to use it. Spotting a Synesinger in the bushes ahead, Sparta crept towards it eagerly, trying to ignore the presence of the pup. Just a little closer and he would have it...

Apollo looked down at his yellow paws hurt by the males icy words. Then when he looked back up again the large wolf was already stalking something else. With a huff he sat down, he wanted to impress this wolf somehow, show him he wasn't worthless. But he had no idea how so instead he silently watched him. He had never seen a wolf with horns before so he was a bit amazed at the sight. He gave a yawn the spiky feathers at the back of his head raising and spreading out like one would see in a cockatoo. He got up and walked a bit to the edge of the clearing where a tree stood. He raised a yellow paw with overly long, black, curved claws and dug them into the tree dragging them down scarring the bark and sharpening them. He made a cross pattern then turned back to see if the green wolf was looking and when he wasn't he hauled himself up the tree using the nicks as clawholds.
He reached the lowest branch and looked to the next tree silently spreading his wings and gliding to it landing smoothly on the branch. He continued this until he reached the tree right above the synesinger. It seemed to be somewhat focussed on the other male and he took that as his que to jump. He walked to the end of the branch then jumped landing with his claws digging into the animal. In a flurry of feathers and sqwaks he finally killed it. He stood up with the bird in his mouth, his eyes glowing and head held as high as it could go. The bird was nearly as big as he was and he was bursting with pride. He trotted over to the horned wolf like he had just become king of the world and dropped it at his paws. "How was that for a pup? Now will you tell me your real name or would you rather I call you hungry, oh and while I'm at it, what are you?I have never seen a wolf with horns before. Are you a gazelle myou that rolled in leaves to make your fur green? Ooh can I touch them?" Once Apollo started to talk it seemed like he never finished. He reached out a tentative paw to try and touch the horns.

Sparta wondered if this little shit knew that it was disrespectful to do that or not. Probably not. He jerked back violently when it tried to touch him, then shoved his face into the face of the pup's.
"My name is Sparta," He said through gritted teeth. "I am not a Myou. I am a Yagi. Yagi are big wolves with horns and large teeth that have green or brown fur. We hate being pestered by little shits like you, so shut up or so help me I'll trade you to a loner for a Jackalope." Trading wouldn't be hurting. Sparta was pretty sure that could stand a valid argument to a puppy. After all, puppies were stupid like that.
Sparta bared his large sabers at the little puppy before turning his back on him. "I bet you don't even know how to fight properly, stupid and useless, pah!" He took the Synesinger with him and lay down, tearing into the flesh of the kill.

Apollo let out a little shriek when the larger male started to growl a him, and Apollo suddenly realised he was serious and that Sparta could kill him if he wanted. He shut his mouth and cowered before him. He watched as he turned, took the bird and sat down a little far off to eat it. His ears perked up when fighting was mentioned and he cautiously moved towards Sparta. "M-maybe you could teach me? My mother and father are never around so they don't teach me nothin. I could really use a teacher.
Apollo didn't know how the large green male would react to the question he just hoped that he wouldnt get pissed and scare him again. He spread his large, dark brown wings trying to rearrange them so they hung better at his side because right now they were larger than he was and sat back down. This wolf may have larger teeth than him but he had longer and sharper claws and once he knew how to fly he could attack from above, so he would have to options of attack unlike the yagi who could only attack from the ground. If this wolf could teach him what he needed to know then he would have it good for ground fighting and maybe impress his parents for once.

Sparta mostly tuned out everything the stupid creature said while he was eating. But once the puppy started going on about teaching him something, Sparta gulped down the last of his meal and turned to look icily at the youngster. His lip curled and he spoke rudely.
"If you want to learn to fight, attack me and I'll decide if you're worth my time." He said, a hint of amusement in his voice that was mostly covered by his rude tone. If this puppy could muster up the courage in the first place to come at him, Sparta might consider teaching the puppy how to bite his opponent. That is, if the smallish creature didn't accidentally kill himself in the initial attempt. Sparta wouldn't be surprised if he tripped and hit his head. But none the less, the large Yagi brought himself to a sitting position, and began pawing at the remains of the Synesinger, disinterested for now in the pup.
