[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [bg=00c5cd] Lio was bored, more bored than usual, his pack mates, the few he had met seemed to have disappeared in the swamp, after accepting them it was inevitable that he would lose contact with them. He had not went looking for any of them, but it did make his time in the swamp very lonely. So much so that he was pondering leaving. He was laying on a fallen log, bobbing in the water with his tail flopping in the water idly back and forth. His head was between his paws and he luxuriated in the feeling of the water pushing him up and pulling him down. He thoughts were like flies all around him, buzzing constantly. Did he really have anything here? Most things that kept wolves in the area were things like mates, pups, things such as that which Lio had none of.
It was a dilemma, a real problem, he was loyal to Sun, and he had even heard whispers that her mate and alpha male was back in the picture. He had been awarded a high rank and had fulfilled his duties by bringing in and accepting new members and patrolling the area for intruders and problematic wolves. But that seemed like that was all he did. He had not even seen Dreamith in weeks and he mentally shrugged. Females were like that, flighty, like the wind, coming and going as they so choose. Lio chalked up his bad mood to these pestering thoughts and the normally beautiful and handsome male had his face scrunched up in to a rather unattractive way.
While he appreciated the values of the Clan to which he was apart of he could not help but long for the way things used to be and the family he lost. He saw the clan as a misfit grouping of wolves who seemed to be all doing things on their own, rarely coming together. He hoped with time this would change and they would have reason to celebrate and become one unit instead of this loosely banded group of rogues. He sighed and rolled his eyes up to whatever sky was open to him and watched a bird come dangerously close to where he was laying on the log. He snorted and the annoying prey jumped and chirped fluttering away.
Was this what he had resorted to? Being taunted by small birds who even knew he didn’t have the energy to roll off the log into the safety of the water. Taking a breath he near groaned as the bird landed on the back of his shoulder and gently began rooting around in his fur for something, an insect he supposed. A slow growl rumbled in his chest but the bird still didn’t move. “I’m just pathetic today..” The bird continued to hop on his back here and there and he looked down into the water and was tempted to throw himself into the watery refuge, after all his tail was already visible, he didn’t have to think about the transition.
He could barely hear himself think beyond the chirping of the bird so close to him, and his ears twitched in annoyance. Finally, with a loud sigh he began to slowly crawl toward the end of the log and then just flopped into the water. It was warmer because of the summer months but he could feel the fish and underwater prey scatter when he hit the water and he opened his eyes looking through the darker water. Was a little company too much to ask in this spirit forsaken swamp?! Holding that thought dear he used his tail to push himself to the surface, paddling with his front paws until his head surfaced and he stared at the now empty log. “Figures when I leave my resting place the pest does too…” His annoyance was obvious as he began to make his way through the murky water to a new destination, to where? He knew not yet..

Jade had been appointed the rank of Beta Female only recently and she was determined to do a good job so she had walked the territories borders looking for new members but so far she had found none. She now wandered through the swamp avoiding getting her paws wet as she for some reason wanted to take a break from swimming. She looked up at the evening sun then heard the chirp from a bird nearby. She started to follow it, not necessarily stalking but more curious as to where it was headed. She had been so bored lately it wasnt even funny, she had not run into very many members and those she had, had not stuck around very long.
The bird took flight over some bushes and she heard it land on the other side. She parted them only to reveal the one she knew as Nelio, the Beta Male. The pesky little bird was hoping around on his back as he attempted to scare it off stupid bird she thought. She revealed herself as he flopped off a log and into the water away from her. She followed behind him on land until she then came upon the log he had just left and sat down. "Greetings Nelio, How are you this fine evening?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [bg=00c5cd] It would seem just as he lost all hopes of any non-insect company that a female would arrive to keep him comfortable after all. He licked his maw happily and recognized the new female as his counter part in crime for the beta position, Jade. He had never actually spoken to her, but he had seen her once or twice. She was a nice female specimen, as far as females went and he called back to her, “What fine greetings! It is indeed a pleasure to see you out this night Jade, what brings out into our dangerous but beautiful swamp as the light fades from the sky?” He shook his head and paddled around in the water for a long time, using the opportunity to clean himself to the fullest, despite how dark the water looked he knew it was still water and it would still rinse him of insects, and natural dirt and other pesky things. “I am well this evening, if albeit annoyed by our winged friend there deciding I make a plentiful buffet.”
He chuckled before making his way up a mangrove root to lay on and dry off, the light blue of his mermaid like tail shimmering in the fading light. As it trailed down to the bottom it go to be a darker blue and with the right lighting trick it would seem his tail colorized itself anew every few moments. Idly shaking himself and then lifted his tail to let the moisture trail off he looked at his female counterpart. “I suppose the same thing brings you out that does me as well, boredom..” In truth it was just a guess but he knew many members spent their days patrolling listlessly, becoming bored and downtrodden with the fact that so many members did not know half the others!
He sighed and stretched, finally becoming comfortable on the root as she was on his sunken log…”You know, even for both of us being beta there seems like nothing to do..I know I spend my days patrolling, watching the borders, making sure the hunting gets done and we are plentiful…has peace become so boring for us?” He was genuinely curious what another wolf thought at this point on these matters. Company was what he had longed for and now he had it, it would not so easily evade him. His eyes glinted silver as he looked her over appreciatively, as he would do to any Cael female, it was proper etiquette as far as he was concerned. “Have you heard any new pack news that might give us something to hope for?”
