A dark shape moved swiftly through the roiling waves. The midday sun bounced off the multicolored tail in a flash as it broke the surface. A calamitous splash broke the rhythm of the tide as the wolf leaped up from the surf. Several flying fish flung in different directions away from his hungry jaws. Tsunami was successful in trapping one of the scaly creatures in his mouth and devoured it with a self-satisfying growl. The male grinned before diving back down into the clear depths, his long tail providing momentum as he swam. The movements were effortless for the cael hybrid; the water was where he truly belonged. His large lungs were filled with air and would allow him to stay underwater for quite some time. Tsunami felt very much at ease on this fine summer day. He hadn’t seen any sign of danger, or of other wolves since he left the mainland.
Tsunami looked up from underneath the water’s surface and briefly admired the glimmering ripples above. Deciding that it was a good time to take a break from swimming, the hybrid careened toward the shallows and then walked up the beach. Water droplets fell easily from his black coat and landed in the sand at his paws. A long pink tongue hung from his mouth as he trotted up the beach, toward the dunes.
He had been to this island only once before, and yet he knew exactly where he was going. It wasn’t a large spot of land at all, and one could clearly see one side of the island from the opposite beach. Still, Tsunami thought of this place as his own private retreat. It didn’t matter if it wasn’t so impressive, the island was his and he was proud of it.
Once he reached the top of the dunes Tsunami laid down, content for the moment to gaze out onto the sparkling ocean. As far as he could tell, he was alone. A keening call made him recant that statement, and he arched his neck to look up at the seabird which flew overhead. He growled and barked playfully at the bird who dared to trespass on his island.
“You set foot on this island and I will bite your head off!” He warned the gull with a mischievous grin. The bird seemed unaffected by his threat, so after a few moments Tsunami threw back his head and howled loudly. He enjoyed the way his melodic voice seemed to harmonize with the sea breeze and the waves. Yes, Tsunami was quite fond of this place, and quite protective of it as a result.

[scrolly:h(292),w(420),sy] Artellia was indeed swimming through the refreshing waves, her crocodile monitor tail allowed her the luxury to move fluidly and with each strong twist of her tail she came closer to land; and to food. Hunger gnawed at her inside and her stomach rumbled in complaint. She was always hungry, any amount of activity caused her to eat, her muscled shape consumed a lot of energy and her second soul took the rest. Skimming the waves she dived under in one swift twist of her tail to rapidly rise to the surface as a seagull waiting unsuspectingly at the surface. In a rapid jerk her jaws clamped onto the bird, dragging it into the water as she drowned the bird to death.
She finally felt sand under her paws and her elongated claws dug into the soft earth as she carried her prey onto the luxuriously warm beach. If there was one thing the crocodile monitor Myou enjoyed was suntanning. Stretching out languidly on the hot surface she started to gnaw eagerly at her dead prey, feathers and blood flying. She attacked her prey in the same way she lived her life; with passion and a veracious hunger.
After cleaning her maw off in the water she moved up further along the shore, trotting leisurely as she searched for the perfect spot to rest. Her eyes picked up movements in the dunes, and her narrow pupil slimmed further as she took in the appearance of the large wolf. It could have been a Cael, but she was not sure. Eranuissi on the other hand was quite sure of one thing He is fine you nit wit! Get your little ass over there and make use of yourself! He may not be such a friendly sort cautioned Artellia in reply. Eranuissi simply scoffed at the idea, No matter, charm him to death if you must, but if you walk away I will never forgive you! Sighing Artellia made her way over to the black wolf.
The sight of his tail stopped her in her tracks, it was a magnificent sort and the colors were greatly to her taste. Perhaps Era had not been crazed after all. As she moved closer a flirty smile spread across her lips and her movements became slower as her footsteps ease across the sand. She addressed the wolf in a heavy voice that was openly friendly, "Why hi there sugah, I apologize for intruding on yah resting area, but I could not resist dropping in. May I say y'all have a magnificent tail, you must be an excellent swimmer. My name is Artellia, and seeing you has made mah day." She winked one golden eye, tail swishing slowly across the sand.[/scrolly]

Tsunami’s howl ended on a sustained high note which faded smoothly as he finished. The male took a deep breath of the salt air and closed his eyes. His mind traveled to a daydream of himself being the alpha of this island, with a loyal pack at his paws and a lovely female at his side…
His current state of calm was interrupted by the faint whiff of another wolf. His golden eyes snapped open and then perused the area for the source of the scent. It seemed the bird he had threatened only minutes ago had fallen victim to the strange wolf. Tsunami scowled, it was as if the female had personally insulted him by stealing what he thought was his prey. He watched as the myou trotted out of the water with the bird proudly in her mouth. Tsun wasn’t hungry, but he still salivated at the bloody sight.
When the brute realized he had been spotted by the female he rose up from the beach grass and waited for her to approach him. Tsunami would have come after her himself, but it seemed she beat him to the punch. He stood tall on the hump of the dune, his long tail coiling and uncoiling in a way that he believed to be intimidating. The black fur of his hackles was slightly raised as he prepared for the encounter. If this stranger wanted trouble, he would have no problem delivering.
Her words caught him off guard, and the male took them in with a surprised smirk. 'Is she..flirting with me?!' His thoughts raced excitedly, and he struggled to maintain his composure. 'Stay cool..' he advised himself silently, the last thing he wanted to do was show her how excited he really was. Tsunami padded closer to the green wolf, his posture quite dominant. He invaded her personal space and stood over her. “Thank you.” He replied to her compliments smoothly, his eyes staring down at her without inhibition. “Good observation, Artellia, but swimming is only one of my many talents.” He backed off from her slightly and sat down on the sand. “My name is Tsunami.”

Ebony had just come from the Mafia's lands and was starved. She had caught very little there due to the worry that her remains would be spotted by the members. So she had decided she was in the mood for some fish. Ebony was a great swimmer and the cat part of her loved fish but the only problem was that she hated the water. She continued towards the shore her paws sinking in the sand the muscles underneath her silky black fur rippling. Her nose was close to the ground just incase their was something else she could eat if she couldn't catch herself a fish. But instead of prey scent Ebony caught the scent of another wolf, male by the smell of it. She lifted her head and scanned the beach for the male, her emerald eyes narrowing to thin slits. But she found nothing then a flash of green caught her eye and she turned to see a large tail break the surface followed by a large black male with green horns and spines going down his back. He was odd looking alright.
She quietly watched him walk from the water and head down the beach, she silently slinked behind him using her shadow power when she thought she would be seen. He howled, quite a beautiful howl and then she knew he had the voice of a cael aswell as the tail of one but the horns of a yagi, so with that she assumed he must be a yagi hybrid like her. She was always a bit nicer to hybrids than she was to "purebreds" as she called other species. She was practically in front of him when another female stepped out into the open carrying a bird then started to flirt with the male hybrid. She practically gave a somewhat laugh- snarl when the male returned her compliments with invading her space and introducing himself.
Her jaws were dripping with the smell of the birds blood and scent on the female and she was starting to lose her focus and energy and wouldn't be able to stay in the afternoon sun shadow of the tree for much longer. So instead of lurking in the shadows she pulled herself from them and now stood in front of the two. Her emerald eyes remained narrowed as she sized up the two. The female myou was obviously part lizard judging by her tail. Ebony then spoke "Well, well, well if it isn't the lizard and the fish. What are the two of you doing out here at this time of day?" she smiled devilishly her pearly white teeth showing beneath her black lips. She then sat down her dark grey tipped tail resting on her small black paws, her green eyes unblinking and staring as if they could see right through you.

[scrolly:h(292),w(420),sy] Artellia was surprised, but rather pleased when Tsunami invaded her space. She always enjoyed a male who knew how to dominate and not only was this one good looking but he had a rather unique name. And so she leaned in closer in turn and replied, "My my, a great name, it is fitting to your great appearance honay. Ah would imagine you have a great deal of talents, perhaps y'all have ta introduce me to them sometime, if y'all can spare a few minutes." She smiled, her words drawling out like liquid sugar.
Eranuissi was simply in her glory Did you see that?! Ha, I told you it would work! He is a nice fellow, keep it up sista we may be getting somewhere here. The cocky confidence in her second soul's voice irked her, even if Era had been right. She let her eyes scroll lazily across the wolf's shape with a pleased grin on her maw. In a few words she summed up his appearance; confident, fit and glorious, not that she would tell him that, at least not at the moment.
"Well Tsu I haven't met many wolves such as yourself in the area, but no less, this just means a'll enjoy ya company more." She was about to continue on when a female voice interrupted and it was all she could do not to turn around with a snarl. Instead she turned around without hurry to observe the black wolf before her. She was a big one, too big in Artellia's opinion but it mattered naught. What mattered was her tone of voice and the fact that she had interrupted Artellia's hunting. Narrowing her eyes slightly she replied sweetly, "As you must have missed while y'all was lurking in the shadows we are talking. In any case ah'm sure we'd welcome more company. How nice of y'all to join us...And how silly of me, ah didn't catch yah name." Artellia thought it wise to put on a false air of hospitality in order to get a feel for this wolf, though she already dislike her mannerisms. [/scrolly]

Tsunami chuckled at Artellia’s continued flattering. He couldn’t help but find her accent slightly irritating, but her compliments certainly made up for it. “If you’re lucky, maybe I’ll show you.” He responded aloofly, golden eyes assessing her body. ‘She’s not too bad looking, and I do have a thing for unique females’ He was about to say something else to Artellia, but was interrupted by the sudden emergence of another wolf.
The male growled low in his chest. He silently reprimanded himself for not noticing her presence before she chose to show herself. Tsunami stood up, his lip pulling slightly away from his fangs to show his displeasure at her rudeness. He approached her head on, his eyes staring into hers. The hybrid almost stood on Ebony’s paws, for he invaded her space just as he had done with the other female.
“Who the hell are you calling a fish?” He spat, sharp teeth completely showing now. “You better watch what you say, bitch, unless you want to know what it feels like to be skewered by these horns.” Tsunami lowered his head, letting his two curved weapons get dangerously close to Ebony’s throat.
The hybrid’s anger settled for the time being as the green female bid the other welcome. If Ebony behaved herself, then he might allow her to stay unharmed. He backed off from the myou hybrid, but continued to glare warily in her direction. He couldn't deny the immediate attraction he felt for the dangerously alluring wolf, but would hide it for now.

Ebony turned to the myou as she spoke and couldn't help being annoyed at her accent. She snorted, then totally ignored the female, turning back towards the hybrid male as he stepped close to her almost on her paws. She stood level with him, eye to eye and merely laughing when he lowered his horns. She did not fear him, oh not at all. "Very well, you have your weapons and I have mine" When he backed off a bit she winked and then in the blink of an eye not a wolf but a large black panther stood in front of the two strangers. "But whether or not we need to use them at the moment is up to us." she hissed then shifted back into a wolf with a shake, her eyes remaining the same.
"I am Ebony and you might be?" she sat back down again looking out at the ocean as it blew mist in her face and ruffled her fur. She was completely ignoring the female as a way of showing her dislike for her and her species, for she hated Myou and Yagi more than any other species in the land. Her father had been a myou and her mother a yagi and she had hated them so despite the female myous friendly tone she knew not to trust her -not like she trusted anyone- especially since she thought all myou and yagi were like the ones she knew. So instead she turned her intention back to the horned male. Despite his similarities to a yagi he also was part cael as she was part myou but either way she was starting to take a liking to the hybrid.

Artellia had tried to be pleasant; she really had, but Ebony was much too much of a nuisance and her show of power was irritating to say the least. To have attention removed from herself and diverted onto this...this female annoyed the Myou, but more so it irritated Eranuissi. What was worse was the wretched creature's blatant dismissal, no, that she could not abide by and needed to be corrected. Therefor she stepped slightly in front of Tsunami and put herself in the direct path of the Hybrid, unabashed by the power the other female had demonstrated.
In an irritated voice she said, "Pardon me for wasting mah time being polite, obviously yah only respond to rudeness, but if that is what it shall take then so be it. Now listen up pussy cat, there are two damn wolves here, so either yah take yah nose out of the air or ya'll can just take a hike." She flashed her elongated fangs, her reptile claws digging slowly into the ground as her eyes flashed. With a small snort of disdain she moved back to her original seating, glaring at Ebony as her tail swished back in forth. Although Era remained quiet, she could sense the crocodile monitor waiting coiled up and ready to strike.
Artellia kept her eyes on the female hybrid but turned her attention to Tsunami. He was an odd sort, rather quick to anger apparently. None the less a flirt with danger was much too enticing, even if his rash reactions were a slight nuisance. In a silky voice she added, "Luck has nothin ta do with it." There was but the faintest hint of a reptilian grin on her maw as she dismissed their banter. They were a group of three now and she would not waste her time and efforts cajoling a male in the presence of another female, though a certain degree of charm was still required. The courtier in her felt the need to converse, despite her irritation and so she said, "I am Artellia, subordinate to the Styrrstdar Cadre, I haven't seen ya'll in the area, so I must assume your both from another pack or otherwise?" Her long tail flicked across the sand like a snake waiting to attack as she awaited their responses. She sincerely hoped for Ebony's sake that the Hybrid would lose her princess airs, Artellia couldn't care less about species, though ranks certainly could impress her.

A look of surprise flashed across the hybrid’s face as Ebony became a panther. However, in the blink of an eye he replaced it with an amused smile. He had never seen a wolf shape shift into another species, but he wasn’t going to let them know that. Casually, as if nothing had even happened, Tsunami let out a yawn and then proceeded to scratch a spot behind his ear. “Not to say your little magic trick was unimpressive,” He began, looking at Ebony, “But I think my weapons would win any day..” Tsunami winked back at Ebony, his golden eyes challenging her to prove him wrong. “My name is Tsunami.”
The male watched as Artellia confronted the black wolf and silently hoped that their dispute would become physical. When it didn’t he was slightly disappointed, but shrugged it off as the myou turned her attention back to him. His brows raised at her comment and he ran his tongue along his lips. He could taste the salty tang of the ocean and the fish he had previously eaten. He remained quiet for now as Artellia formally introduced herself.
Tsunami let out an indignant huff from his nostrils, his tail coiling up in disdain. The black and white wolf stood, his body directed at Artellia. “I thought I smelled a pack on you, sweetheart.” He remarked, his stance becoming exaggeratingly dominant again. “I ought to fix that.” Tsunami smiled in a possessive manner as he approached the green myou. He rubbed the side of his muscular form onto her, insuring that his scent be prevalent on her coat. “I’m my own alpha, and I go wherever I damn well please.” As far as the brute was concerned, both Artellia and Ebony belonged to him, and if they tried to deny that fact, he would show them their place.

ooc: Powerplay with Phoenix`s permission with regards to her vacation. So this may temporarily disrupt the flow, but just go with it as my friend might say.
Artellia watched with great satisfaction as Ebony stalked off, she assumed the annoyance was gone to catch some fish. As long as the pussy cat was not pestering her anymore she cared not what the Hybrid did with herself. Now there was this lovely issue of Tsu, though it was not so much of an issue as opposed to a rather welcome break in the monotonous routine that her life had become lately.
It had certainly given her a shock when the brazen male had rub up against her, as if his smell could rid her of her pack. Though she withheld the chuckle as to not offend him, she could but imagine that his ego could bruise rather easily. It was in her experience that males reacted much better to flattery as well as a rather receptive response to their advances. And Artellia was simply never one to disappoint, not to mention that Tsu did smell simply delicious. Would you stop your senseless thinking you useless prat and get in there! Do I honestly have to do all the work around here? It is a damn good thing you have me, or you would be one lost puppy my dear. Aretllia resisted the urge to roll her eyes at Era's words, despite the small inclination of truth they did behold.
She grinned cockily at Tsu and swiftly contoured the male, softly sliding her sleek tail along his side. She could not help but add in a sultry voice, "Now why would mahself being in a pack bother such a powerful leader as yeahself? Surely a little ol' me may be of little importance to one so grand?" She stopped in front of Tsu and lightly ran one elongated claw across the sand. Not only had she demonstrated an appreciation of his power, an acceptance of his mark but she had also left her scent behind to ward off future female.
As far as she was concerned any other doe headed female that got in her way would severely regret it. Artellia was not sure yet if she wished to pursue this avenue seriously, however she would leave no room for others to lay their claim on what may, or may not become hers. She glanced up at Tsu, making eye contact and awaiting to see how the male was processing her own responses. It was a game to be sure; and Artellia played for the win.

Artellia’s reaction to his actions pleased the male. He was glad that she didn’t protest when he claimed her, in fact she seemed to enjoy it. A deep purr-like noise vibrated through Tsunami when the female wrapped her body around him. In truth, he had never been this close to a female that wasn’t trying to kill him. This kind of casual intimacy was nice, and he returned the favor with a rough nuzzle on her nape.
Tsun paused when she spoke, and listened to the words carefully. So she hadn’t really accepted his claim..She still considered herself part of whatever pack she came from. He would have to inform Artellia that she belonged to him, whether she liked it or not. But that could wait, and he didn’t feel like interrupting this lovely interaction. The words “leader” and “grand” stuck out in Tsunami’s mind and relaxed his desire for dominance, if only for the moment.
He looked down at the myou, his gold eyes studying her for a moment. “I’d hate to lose your company to some group of pricks.” He explained, playful affection sewn between his words. “You’re very important, Artellia.” Tsunami assured her, his voice crooning and sweet. He looked into her eyes with a small smile, “I’ll admit I’ve grown attached to you..But I’m sure you have many males chasing after your fine tail.” Tsunami mentioned other males to get an idea of what sort of competition he would have to beat out so that he could have full ownership of Artellia.

Tsu`s nuzzle was all the crocodile monitor Myou needed to confirm her moves in the game were working rather according to plan. Truth be told she could not in all honesty admit that she was playing the male, no there was certainly something more to it and therefor she felt no guilt in using a couple innocent manipulation tactics. Really she was just following the male's own advances; at least that was what she was pretending to do.
So he had a rather distinct dislike for the concept of packs, Artellia mused to herself, she would have to be careful around this subject then, or use it to test how far he could be pushed. With feigned innocence and wider eyes she said, "Surely they can't all be pricks? Do yeah really possess such a level of intelligence that you know this for a fact? Goodness, Ah am afraid ya'll are way out of my league. After all, when you're but a mere female yah have to rely on others for protection...among other things." She added the last comment with a rather sensual drop of her voice that hinted that there was much more to her comment then there appeared. Artellia was continuing her test, Tsu spoke bold words, but how far would he really go when left an opening?
I’ll admit I’ve grown attached to you..But I’m sure you have many males chasing after your fine tail.
Now that was interesting, really quite interesting. There was certainly room for error with an unspoken question like that, and Artellia mused over her choice of words. Lifting a brow she decided to reply, "Oh there have certainly been in the past, however Ah must concede, they all pale in comparison to yah." She was certainly not about to admit she had barely joined the pack, nor was she about to concede she did not know enough males yet to have any particular interests. It could not be said her comment was a lie though as she had certainly had suitors and even mates in the past; Artellia was well experienced in that regards.
Not that she`d had a choice in the matter, she had been raised for this function as her own sale had helped to raise the status of her family and after that relationship had ended it just seem natural to by all means continue on the same path. It was not the most agreeable way to go about doing things, but it afforded her the luxury of attention and protection as well as a certain degree of prestige.

The male sat down beside his female companion and smiled wryly. “In my experience, most wolves end up being pricks.” The explanation was short, but he felt it sufficed. Tsunami felt foolish when Artellia commented on his intelligence. He certainly wasn’t the smartest canid around, and he often let his mouth run off. If she had been male, Tsun would have most likely gotten angry. However with the situation what it was, he let it go.
Tsunami’s black pelt worked like a magnet for the sun‘s heat. He let out a long sigh and then laid down in the sand. As far as he could tell, there weren’t many sources of shade on the island, so he would have to stay cool as best as possible for the moment. “What pack pack are you from, anyway?” He asked, brows raised with curiosity.
He smirked as Artellia continued to pour compliments on him. ‘She sure knows how to butter a wolf up…I better watch out for her. Can’t let myself get too comfortable’. The hybrid could always be counted on to be paranoid. He loathed how manipulative females could be, but before he decided to do anything rash he wanted to find out what it was Artellia wanted from him.
“I’ll always be here for you, if you need protection or…other things.” The brute’s tail thumped lightly against the sand as he imagined what those other things might be. “Anything you need right now?” He asked, his tone a cocktail of flirtatiousness and friendliness.

Artellia almost frowned, the simple logic was perhaps too straight forward but she accepted the honesty in the statement. It was in her experience that to a large degree wolves were certainly quite conceited and most often only looking out for their best interests. She used to begrudge these wolves until she realized that using some of their own tricks against them proved to be quite easy and especially successful. Her face became serious as she was caught in a moment of reality; she was at a fork in the road.
A decision lay before her, one placed by this stocky male with his cocky yet smooth talk. To remain with her own pack, that she hardly knew, or to choose to follow this enchanting loner. Either way she could end up with nothing and no one but herself. She gave a small sigh, and for the briefest of moments the flirt in her eyes was stained with indecision and a tinge of melancholy.
However, the Myou was not without some sense of loyalty and despite her primary goal of settling with a male she certainly owed her pack for allowing her entrance among their midst. "Ah am from the Styrrstdar Cadre, and though I agree with yah words I have also known many wolves that are not pricks. Tell me, what is to say that Ah shall not be surrounded by said wolves should I choose to follow you?" Her tone had become more serious and her unwavering eyes had grown pensive. Admittedly Tsu was of fine figure, but as a Loner there was nothing to stop other wolves from gaining up on the male. Numbers spoke volumes to strength...
Artellia was also aware that just as easily as she could manipulate the males, so could males just as easily manipulate her. A frost of determination clouded over her eyes; she would not be played the fool again, this time she would chose her companions, and she would not do so with a clouded vision of fake nobility and grandeur. "Well my fine gentleman there is certainly something ya'll can do for me now. Riddle me this; what is to stop you from being a rather faux charmer, getting what males seem to desire most and then turning ya handsome tail and running like the devil was after yeah? Not ta mention there is the small detail that the Cadre, which as I faintly recall, are a rather strict bunch if ya'll know what I mean. Despite my best intentions and wishes, I doubt they would be open to allowing one of their own to leave after using their hospitality." Her golden eyes glowed, she was not only testing her own reserves, but the male's as well; there was no room for guessing in such a dangerous match.
Artellia thought her words may irritate the male, whom seemed a rather proud sort, so she added in a soothing voice, " Now don't get me wrong, I make no assault on yer character. You cannot begrudge a lady for looking out for herself now could yeah? Though I suppose I must add my part to appease any unspoken concerns. You can be sure of one thing, should I evah choose to join ya'll, you can be sure that is where I shall stay. I think ya'll might find that I am rather adept at many things and possess .... talents of my own, you won't be wanting for...anything. So now let me ask yeah, is there anything I can do for you?" Artellia decided not to mention that she would have to slay any females that thought out to remove her prize. She lay by his side, a languorous smile on her maw as she affectionately rubbed her fur along his side. The touch was but enough to feel, and though Artellia would have like to initiate more she preferred leaving appetites unquenched; it left a greater satisfaction in the end.

Tsunami pursed his lips as he pondered the name of the pack she had given. Styrrsd..Stryrst..Whatever. If he ever decided to form a pack, Tsunami would at least make the name easy to pronounce. The male hardly cared about what groups were in place, he only listened for news of sick alphas or poor leadership - in hopes that he might step in and take the pack. However, recently he hadn’t heard anything, and it didn't really matter, being a loner wasn’t so bad.
“That’s just a chance you have to be willing to take.” He answered simply, a coy smile playing on his expression. “Now tell me, what does that pack of yours have that convinces you to stay?” He licked her gently on the tip of her nose. “At least if you stick with me, you’d have something to stay for.” Tsun chuckled, “And don't you worry, if anyone tries to be a prick towards you I’ll make them regret it.”
The brute’s tail wagged lightly when she called him a gentleman. Tsunami was hardly gentle at all, but he still enjoyed the way the word came off his companion’s tongue. His brows raised inquiringly as he listened to Artellia speak. “In my experience, there isn’t much difference between what males want and what females want.” He suddenly became very sincere, “But Artellia, I promise you that I’m not like other males in that sense. When I settle down with a female..Well, that’s where I’ll stay.” His usual devilish charm returned as he batted her softly with his paw. “Besides, I won’t be trying anything unless you and I eventually decide to be serious, for now I just enjoy having you around.”
With the spark of a young wolf, Tsunami jumped up with a bark. “Come with me, to your old pack’s territory, so I can show them that you’re mine.” He grinned, “Which you are, whether you like it or not.”
