He longed to see her again. The thing being that he couldn't seem to find her after that night, they parted ways and now he wish he hadn't.
His massive horns were dull in the midday sun. His sandy and forest pigmented pelt moved with the winds passing him by. He felt something big was about to happen. He just wasn't sure what it was exactly. Laying down in thought on a high up rocky ledge the Yagi scanned again with no prevail in finding that soundless Cael.
"Maybe she went somewhere else?" he sighed to himself, laying his head on his paws. He began to glance around the scenery and went into song, his voice abnormally pleasant for a Yagi, deep but husky:
In a wonderful world, Where the grass is always green, The flowers are always in bloom, And there's always a calming sea. It's always perfect weather, Especially for wandering, And I guess I wonder why, I keep on, keep on... Traveling on... "Alone..." |
[/b]he sighed, what was he doing still on his own anyway? That's right. He knows nothing about his past. His parents, siblings... where did all of that go?[/scrolly][/td][td][/td][/tr][/center][/table]

Sparta, for once, was not in the Mafia territory. Not to say was deserting or anything. He was just getting bored of the usual pack life there, and needed something to do. Perhaps some random loner to kill. Killing was always fun. But once he'd had his fun, he'd return to the Mafia. After all, he had a warm den there and plentiful food. Maybe he'd bring back a fur to add to his collection.
So it was with optimism that he prowled along the coastline, towards the cove. No pack lived here. It was likely some sort of unfortunate vagabond might be passing through though, or simply existed in the presence of time. Either way, Sparta didn't really care. It wasn't his job to care about such things. It was his job to follow orders and kill. Though he wasn't on duty right now, so he could basically do whatever he wanted as long as he was home for dinner.
That was when he heard the music. It was singing. Someone was singing... PERFECT! An unsuspecting musician would be a perfect target for someone such as himself to take out. He walked over towards the sound, but what he finally saw startled him. It was... a Yagi. He didn't really care that a Yagi could sing. Far from it.
What he did care about was that the Yagi looked like Dag. A lot like Dag. Except that this Yagi had a long tail... but everything else, yes. If Dag had lived to be an adult... would this be him? Sparta's eyes narrowed coldly. Impossible. Dag was dead. Athena, too. Although, he'd never seen Athena's body with his own eyes...
Making up his mind, Sparta marched aggressively up to the younger Yagi. "You, tell me who you are right now!" He snarled angrily, not caring about his approach at all.

How embarrassing! He gulped as if he was a pup in trouble. Taking a deep breath in and standing straight and puffing his chest out to try and seem a bit more intimidating.
What was this wolf's business anyway. He smelled of pack, great a fighter or guard from the outskirts of the territory. From what the young yagi could recall this area he was in was free territory. But he decided today was not the time to mess around in thought.
"C-crow... what's it to ya?" he tried to keep his Umber eyes from wavering and breaking contact to show weakness. Who was this stranger and why did he care who his name was? Were you supposed to greet others in a pack like that? No, that couldn't be it. Why was he so riled up then? [/scrolly]

Sparta did nothing to pay attention to any of the submissive signs the other Yagi gave. He cared not that his tail was long. He wouldn't have cared anyway. But right now he did care about one thing- answers. This wolf may just have a coincidental resemblance to Dag. But... Sparta wasn't about to let that go in the air.
"Crow, then! Who's your family? Your mother, father? Answer me now!" Sparta shoved his face close to the other's, growling low. He was a massive Yagi, pretty near the top of the scale. It would be hard to refuse him. Although Sparta was not one for tact. He just said what he thought most of the time. His blue eyes burned with question and fury, and he was going to get answers out of Crow if he had to pummel him six feet underneath the surface of the earth.

Why does it matter to you anyway?! I was separated from my birth pack a long time ago..." Crow stood his ground, this rude company had no right to treat him this way. His hair on his back bristled, a snarl rose in his throat revealing his pearly white fangs in full form.
Calm down Crow, don't get yourself riled up over some hot shot male who has a pack of his own... but those words stung more than they helped. If only he could find his birth pack he would never leave, ever again!
He felt his Yagi heart sink inside, what if they had disbanded. Or all died in a horrible accident? He shook those thoughts away. They had to be alive still, he just had to find them. That's why he was traveling alone after all... right?[/scrolly]

Returning Crow's growl, Sparta glowered at the younger Yagi. He was so close to his face that he could smell the other's breath. Sparta didn't say things of value very often. Most of the time his words were crass and crude, consisting of insults or demands. He rarely spoke to anyone meaningfully. But now he did. "Because, you moron, you look just like my brother!... Except, my brother would be older, but that's not the point!" Sparta snarled at him, baring his teeth.
"So you'll tell me who your family was right now! Tell me! Who were they? What did they look like?" Sparta stood stock stick as he glared at Crow, his blue eyes so fiery for such a cool color. "Tell me or so help me, I'll rip your horns off!" That was the spirit. Threats always worked... yeah, not really. Sparta was sort of stupid in this aspect. He didn't really know how to deal with other wolves. But right now, he didn't really care, either.

Could he really be related to such a jackass? But wait... that wasn't the point was it now? He also thought having his horns ripped from his head wouldn't fancy him that much so he had to think... all the memories...
He felt his face heat up under the pressure, but no. He's right he had to remember it was only two or two and a half years ago... there they were! Was it possible? One of the wolves looked a lot like him, but older and they had the same blue gaze. Could this be this Dag the other wolf was blabbering about? now that Crow thought about it, he vaguely remembered calling his father not "Dad" but something very close to that and he would always get angry at him...
His mother was a bit blurrier... he horns were tall and long. She was a dark color... like a really deep green. She had piercing umber eyes. Then he came back down to reality. Where was he again? Yvit Cove... and with this stranger. He felt like he was in a dream. But it clearly wasn't.
"I vaguely remember calling my father by the name of 'Dag' instead of Dad if that makes you happy at all?" he felt throwing in the information about his mother was not needed so he stopped abruptly at that point.[/scrolly]

Sparta continued to glare that Crow for what seemed like an eternity to the larger Yagi. The stupid little thing was taking forever! But finally... he looked like he had something! Okay, this was good... better... Yes! He spoke!
And Sparta was stunned. Dag? DAG was alive? Or at least, long enough to spawn something like this? It might be a different Dag, but Sparta doubted it. A Yagi that looks the exact same by the same name? It had to be him! But... That would mean... Crow... oh shit. Just perfect.
"Dag?!" Sparta snarled, but it faded now. He looked closer at the younger Yagi. He padded around him, sniffed at him even. Yes, he looked like Dag perfectly... except for the long tail. "If your father was Dag, that would make you my nephew." Sparta rolled his eyes. He didn't really know how to deal with this. It was like BAM! Sudden family!
"So, if you really are Dag's son, where is Dag and why isn't he teaching your skinny lil' ass how to act?" This was probably the most civil Sparta had been in a long time. His voice was lowered now, and the only thing in his tone now was the usual crass comments and mild disbelief. Dag had never seemed like to type to just let his son wonder around, acting like a doofus and cowering in fear of others. So, what had happened to Dag? And what about Athena? Had she really drowned in the river after all? All of these were thoughts Sparta had now. But he quickly shoved them down. He didn't want to have those thoughts.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] | [bg=a5b8a3]She was laying on her back, one paw twitching with her mouth slightly apart dreamily. Warmth was radiating from the shining sun, turning everything it touches into gold. Tortoiseshell was taking one of her afternoon naps, all tucked up in a small cave away from the full sight of the cove. She preferred not to be surprised by a passing wolf who wanted a chat or being watched while sleeping.
It didn't take long when she woke up; she blinked and yawned, then the cael rolled over to her belly and attempted to stand up. Forgetting how small the cave was, she hit her head. Her body dropped to the ground, whining with her front paws covering the top of her head. Then, with more caution than necessary, she crawled out of the cave into the blinding light of the day before shaking herself of any dust that resided in the tiny cave.
She perked up suddenly, tail raised and wagging slightly. Her silver eyes scanned the horizon; the sands are as gold as ever, and the sea sparkled serenely, inviting her to jump in. She shook her head, nah, not now. She felt like walking along the coast (away from the water, obviously). So she did.
It took a while before she scented anything that weren't of sea. Something that was a wolf. Tortoiseshell, as her usual curious self, went to investigate. After a while of peering all around her, Tor spotted two figures a some way away from her; in the distance she could tell by couple of horned heads that those figures were yagi. She started to trot over them, happily now that she recognised one of them. Crow. She remembered the warm sleeping body of his beside hers that night after a traumatic event, she remembered his friendly eyes and smile when they played.
She gave a bark, then stopped when she saw another yagi's body language. So close to her friend very threateningly, and Crow didn't seem comfortable with it. Alarmed, Tor gave a string of barks at the stranger ferociously, attempting to tell him to stop.

His ears flattened and he let out a low growl as he latched his fangs onto Sparta's shoulder quickly letting go in shock of what he had just done and high-tailing himself down to where Tor stood.
When he got there and kept his ears back and widened his eyes in fear to help her understand this was not a battle that could be won. Especially against Sparta. He nudged her the other way, away from his now known crazy uncle.
Umber eyes filled with temporary strength from adrenaline he took a deep breath as he jumped down the side of the cliff, quite gracefully. If it was one thing he could guess, it was that most bigger Yagi like the other weren't as fast or agile as him and Tor.
But he also had to be careful not to underestimate and angered soldier. They had to hurry, he didn't feel it was safe for Tor to be here. And he didn't want it to be his fault she got hurt or worse, killed, because of him.[/scrolly]

The very first thing that happened in a series of frustating events, for Sparta, was a Cael appeared. Just out of nowhere. She barked at him, and he thought it was quite irritating. He turned to her and snarled back. "Oy, can't you see I'm having a convers-" Sparta was cut off when Crow lunged forward and bit him, then ran off with Tor down the cliffside.
Sparta managed to narrow his eyes and roll them at the same time. Asshole! The big Yagi may be close-minded, but he was not an idiot. There was no way he'd be able to make it down that cliffside without breaking his neck. But he had to teach the little brat a lesson. It would ruin Sparta's reputation to simply let the brat off scot-free. Nephew or no nephew, Sparta thought Crow would get a kick out of this. I'll show you, you little shit.
Instead of following Crow down the cliff face, Sparta simply backed into the shadow of a rock, where he faded. Now, Sparta was no master of the power of Shadow, mind you. He'd have to practice for a few more years to achieve the greatness of master. But, he had gotten to the proficiency where he could transport himself short distances, as long as the shadows connected.
That is what he did now. The cliff face was full of shadows he could flit across. When Sparta realized he'd gotten to a position on a ledge in front of Crow, and his Cael female, he reappeared out of the shadows and stood their smugly. "Now now, Crow, you and your girlfriend should know that you can't run from me." Sparta waited a moment longer, for the realization of what he'd just done, to sink in. He wanted to see the look on their faces.

I hope we could continue, it's becoming so delicious :3 --- For once the innocent, sweet Tortoiseshell appeared ferocious, violent; her normally naive face was contorted into this hissing beast, muzzle shrunken into many folds with anger as she barked. Spit was flying everywhere from her loud mouth, dribbling down her lower jaw. Her serene silver eyes flashed with violence as she glared at the huge horned yagi. Who does this bastard think he is? She took a step closer before thinking it was too close for comfort. Despite all of her brave front she was terribly afraid. Afraid of what the brute would do to her and to Crow. The beast's spiralled horns looked long and sharp enough to impale her in the chest, through the heart to the outside of her back. The maned beast looked older as well so she assumed immediately that he would have much more experiences of using his head weapons to his own benefit.
The cael only retreated when Crow growled and attacked the green brute. Tortoiseshell gave an unwanted fearful squeak as she saw the gleaming flash of the friend's teeth into the foe's shoulder, red liquid spurted out of the small wound. The friendly yagi released and turned to flee. Tor rapidly followed him after series of his urgent nudges. Surprise overtook her when she saw Crow leaping down the cliff. She didn't think that the younger yagi would be this agile, but this occurrence didn't stop her, not even for a moment; she scrabbled down. The green cael's nostrils were flaring alarmingly; the air was suffocating her with fear from both herself and Crow, and violence.
Adrenaline pumped through her slender body, propelling her to move even faster. The adrenaline also propelled the nasty thoughts of her and Crow being ripped apart, impaled and many more into her frenzied mind. White dots flashed across her sight, becoming thicker and bigger that she almost didn't see the enemy standing smugly on the ledge in front of the couple wolves. Tortoiseshell's fur rose and stiffened into frightened spikes as she slid to halt, feet scrabbling for a proper foothold on the shifting sands. Her mind groped around, looking for the familiar taste of Crow's. A small spark shot through her head as she touched the mind of her yagi friend. Then she began to send a few basic thoughts (both of them aren't close enough to have some proper telepathy) across to his; full of violence and desperation. Tor knew it would be idiotic, a suicide but from what she saw, it would be virtually impossible to escape this hateful yagi.
She was asking him to attack him together.

For a moment Crow could've sworn that Tor was speaking to him. Shaking his head he thought to himself and looked towards her. Could she? The young yagi had the strange feeling of friendship and brute teamwork fill his mind. Yes, it appeared that his Cael friend meant to tell him that she was ready to attack if he was willing to help her. Teamwork. He nodded and bared his teeth at Sparta.
"I'm sorry but I can't have you hurting one of my only friends I just made! Related or not... I don't want to fight you. So just let us pass, otherwise I can't say we will all be leaving in one piece Sparta." Crow snarled, his chest pounded as he scraped his paws against the rocks, ready to charge him head on so that Tor could attack from the side if needed.
Just be careful... he thought as a worried look came to his eyes when he glanced at Tor once more, awaiting the other Yagi's response.[/scrolly]
