Tsunami growled tersely at the question. Did he want her to leave? Certainty not. She was easy on the eyes, albeit difficult to keep happy. He didn't want to see her leave, at least not without a good reason. The male felt responsible for this cael, because at this point she was his charge. From Tsunami's standpoint, she belonged to him.
He shook his head and then softly bumped the side of her face with his nose. "You need to stop being so serious, Mari." He coaxed quietly near her ear. "Just calm down, please." The hybrid straightened up and looked into her lovely eyes, "As for your question, hell no I don't want you to leave." There was sincerity in his voice, along with some humor. "I may be a bit rough around the edges, but I'm not going to turn you away. I'd have no problem taking care of you if you need it."
"After all," He continued in a husky tone, "What are friends for?"

[scrolly:h(421), w(340),sy] Oomara whipped her head to face Tsunami. She attempted to glare at the hybrid, but her unnatural cold gaze softened immediately. She slowly lowered her head and avoided his gaze, as if nervous. She turned her copper eyes back to the ocean, scanning the horizon dazed. A silence hung for a few moments. Her voice wasn’t shaky when she broke it, but it still hung with slight sadness.
Thank you, Tsunami. That’s what I do need, but I doubt I’ll ever get it from someone as dominant as you. Being alone for so long has taken its toll on me. It takes a toll on any dreamer. Too alone, you get lost in your dreams; too much time, you have nothing better to do but dream; too little company, you have no one to turn to…
Her voice faded gradually, and her tense demeanor softened. Tsunami did seem like a nice guy, once you got past the razor edges. He certainly had some values and morals, but he viewed them differently than others would. Sighing, she nodded in a direction hoping Tsunami would go for another walk. She didn’t like to sit still. Her limp was starting to fade as the water cleaned and healed the wound from the inside out. She shook out her faded blue pelt, sending a shower of sand and water sprinkling everywhere. Dizzy, she steadied herself before heading forward at a slow trot. Maybe Tsunami was the kind of guy she needed, someone hard yet gentle to pull her down to earth. The cael shrugged it off. He had no objections, and her Oomara's wounds seemed fine for the time being. She was a fast healer physically, something the male respected. His own cael blood did the same thing, and the hardiness of his yagi half didn't hurt either. He was young and injuries hardly ever slowed him down.
"What's wrong with being dominant?" He asked quizzically, trying to hide the defensiveness in his voice. Dominance was the most important thing in the hybrid's life, it kept him alive, so what could possibly be bad about it? It was the way he had always been, and the way he intended on being for the rest of his life. Could it really be a problem?
Tsunami's thoughts went to his lack of friends, his quick temper, and his paranoia. Those weren't exactly beneficial side effects of his domineering personality, were they? He shook his head, reminding himself that there were good things about being in control as well.
He listened to Oomara speak, his golden eyes glazed with sympathy. He understood loneliness on a deep level; the only way he knew how to make friends was through bullying, and that hardly ever worked out. He had never known love or genuine affection or friendship. More recently he had encountered wolves that could be counted as friends, including Mari, but it was only a matter of time before he scared them away.
"Do you think dreams are worth it, Oomara?" He asked seriously. In his mind he saw himself the alpha of a large successful pack. It had always been his dream to become a leader..But would it ever happen? Should it even happen?

[scrolly:h(421), w(340),sy] Oh in reality there isn’t anything wrong with it. Until you look ahead and see what it does. Domination is a good thing when it comes to battle and stuff like that but when it comes to social life you need to be humble with a hint of dominance. Being humble earns respect from other wolves, and then because of that they wish to be like you. And the dominance comes in handy when helping a friend; like you could give them advice on what you would do or possibly direct them along the path you want them to, as long as it’s also beneficial to them. But being wholly dominant pushes others away, because no wolf likes to be fully controlled. As well as the fact that being told what to do only lessens respect for you because it makes you seem all that and a pile of prey and makes you seem too proud to help others when they need it. If you help others humbly, they’d be more willing to help you than you think, hun.
Her legs were no longer bothering her, and her voice was steady and authoritive like she knew all this. But really, it was all coming from logic. She trotted along calmly, her emotions now stable for the time being. She still avoided Tsunami’s gaze, but glanced back to make sure he was catching all this. She paused, as she thought of something to add to her last explanation. She looked back, her copper gaze soft with mere understanding. Her voice was quiet.
Love isn’t something you’re born with. It isn’t something you learn. It’s like a rose; it takes just a little bit of understanding and hope for it to bud, then gentle affection makes it bloom so you as well can share the love that’s grown in you.
She hung silent for a few moments, then turned and walked on slowly. She was starting to like this hybrid. All he needed was a bit of gentleness and affection as well as clarity on what genuine friendship is. Then he asked her if dreams are worth it. She continued on her walk, her eyes glazing slightly as she pulled into a dream-like daze. Her mind made her vision swirled with purples and blues and greens, the cool colors of the spectrum. Her mind pulled her toward the incident with Brightness. He never loved her and never would, like she loved him. Tears cornered her gaze as she pulled herself back into reality, holding on to sanity and hope by a thread. Oomara stopped in her tracks to answer this.
No I don’t think they’re worth it. Unless it’s something down-to-earth and realistic, it’s never going to happen. Ambitions are an entirely different story. If your dream is more of an ambition, then in order to make it real you have to reach the goals set to get there, as well as care about the wolves you need to help you get there. Remember; they never had to help you get there but they chose to.
As for me, dreams never come true. They’re just one more reminder that hope and love doesn’t truly exist; it never did and never will. For me anyways. So why do I keep trying…
She whispered that last part mostly to herself, but she wouldn’t blame Tsunami if he heard her. She sighed hopelessly, one more reason she didn’t think she should be here. She turned toward Tsunami, sitting softly on the sand waiting to see his snappy response. [/scrolly]
