[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] The sky was a deep, clear blue, and the late afternoon sun was slowly sinking into the horizon, where sea met sky. The salty breeze ruffled playfully at the waves, teasing them as small sprays flew into the air. Seagulls flew overhead and colorful fish darted in between the waves. Below, a large gold and black form swam in and out of the water, jumping out every so often to execute a perfect dive with deadly precision.
Raynor kept his golden eyes wide open in the water as he neared the beautiful white, sandy beach, and even though he was a little tired from his long swim from the Connewa Meadow, his home, being back at his favorite place to swim was a marvelous feeling for the large Cael. Every so often, he would patrol further down from his territory, following rivers, on the lookout for approaching attackers to the Philia Alliance's lands. Luckily today the fighter had found none, and he was taking the time for a refreshing swim before he turned back.
He leapt out of the water, and transformed from his huge gold, scaly tail into his normal land-legs. He padded onto the beach, shaking himself off and the sun glinted on the golden highlights spattered throughout his pelt. With years of training behind him, his muscles were tanned and ready for action, and his land-legs were just as good as his sea ones, which made him such a versatile Cael. He lifted his head to smell the breeze, the wonderful ocean breeze, and was grateful to be alive, even if it wasn't what his old pack had wanted. He scowled for a moment, but then stopped and remained neutral: There was no use to think of such things for the moment. Raynor sat down, facing the water, and prepared to watch a glorious sunset. The Cael wasn't worried about getting back to the meadow before dark: He knew he would make it, being an excellent swimmer.

[scrolly:h(421), w(340),sy] The sun was setting low as a shimmering blue female Cael gazed out across the horizon, her copper orbs showing how relaxed and unstressed she felt. She closed her eyes; the wind ruffled through her faded pelt bringing with it the scent of the ocean’s salt water. The scent was one she was used to; the one that called her name. She raised her muzzle to the sky and let out a joyful howl of home and hope. It rang across the water sending ripples of sound bouncing off the rocks in a beautiful melodious tone. Standing on top of the tallest rock she could find, she was well over 35 feet in the air. Strangely, the Cael didn’t remember how she got up there, because she was not strong physically. Maybe her mental determination in her dream world gave her strength to. It didn’t matter; her mind was far gone with the sun.
In an instant of no control she leapt far off the limestone; she didn’t want to hit the rocks below. The air swirled around her aerodynamic figure as she sped through it. When gravity got a hold of her she shifted her weight and dove straight into the water; breaking the surface smoothly. The water rushed over her body and her rear half morphed into her glittering sapphire tail. The appendage pounded the water and she darted off at a quick pace toward the shoreline. Her head was just barely visible as she checked the sand for any creatures there. She was close to the shore and right then she spotted a black figure and her copper orbs widened a split second before diving under the surface. She hoped it hadn’t seen her; she didn’t want to meet any other wolves just yet. The Cael swam slowly as not to make the movement too noticeable. There she hovered under the water, simply gazing at the wolf and trying to figure out what she should do.
OOC: sorry it took me so long. I have a lot of muse but have a hard time putting it on paper if you get what I mean ^^ [/scrolly]

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Raynor's fighter instincts went on high alert suddenly, and he sighed: He really didn't want to have to be a little late on his way home, but fighting was never so much a chore as an opportunity to better himself. He stood up, catching a scent, another Caella as it would seem, in the water since the scent was watery and distant, barely there. A small splash in the water alerted him to another wolf, and he headed straight towards the unknown danger, his gold gaze fixed on that spot, his muscles bunching.
Like a true fighter, he cautiously approached the water, his face showing no fear. His usually laughing eyes were hard, and he growled low and long, a warning. He approached the water's edge, the water lapping at the shore just inches away. His eyes narrowed, his ears flattened, his tail swishing angrily, he bunched his muscles, on full attack mode. "Show yourself, wolf! Or I'll find you!" He didn't like to be watched, or more spied on, and he meant what he said: He wouldn't lead a dangerous wolf back to his pack lands. [/scrolly]

The way the sun was setting, the front of her face looked like a shadow if she had her back to the sky. So that’s what she did. She lifted her head out of the water, hiding her facial markings except for her eyes, she opened her maw to release a beautifully soothing song. She hoped it would soothe his temper enough for her to lure him into the water. After a few moments of song she spoke, her voice soft and quiet, almost inaudible. She tried to sound fragile, feminine.
Hello there sire. Come, swim in the water and maybe I’ll tell you. The water’s warm, and calm, perfect for a summer swim. Just join me, and let’s play…
After she spoke, she slowly moved back underwater and out away from the shore, flicking her tail on the surface of the water, to catch his attention. Her melody rang out through the water, the sound waves vibrating the waves and the sand. She was trying to lure him in; hopefully to play and have a little fun in a little goose chase. She hadn’t had any fun, with the fight between Brightness and his brother and her rough meeting with Tsunami. [/scrolly] | |

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Raynor's eyes narrowed dangerously: What was she playing at? Her song was mesmerizing, and his ears perked, listened, since the strong male had a soft spot for a beautiful song. Pretty as it may be though, he wasn't interested, and turned to leave, rolling his eyes, his black tail swishing angrily. Suddenly however he stopped, hearing her call him "sire" made him chuckle: Odd... he thought, pausing to listen. It was as if she was deliberately tempting him to come in there and fight, and after all, she had been watching him... Perhaps she wasn't so innocent, and proved a threat.
He abruptly turned around and looked, hoping to talk with her some more, gain some knowledge of who she was and why she was watching him. However, he saw her swim away and flick her tail at him, and he sighed: Now he'd have to chase her, which would delay his return. Raynor wouldn't do it if he didn't think the odd, mysterious Caella was a threat, but he wouldn't leave that to chance. Growling low, he ran closer and jumped in the water, diving swiftly in.
His golden tail whipped back and forth, propelling him easily closer, and his gold eyes were alert and open waiting. Ah, but I too can sing... He thought slyly, and began his own song, inventing it on the spot: "Don't play with me, on this sunset beach, Don't hold yourself from my reach, Who are you, and what do you mean, By watching me with that sly gleam? I'll find you, and then we'll talk, I'd rather swim then take a walk, But I will fight you if I must, For you're not deserving of my trust, Threaten my pack, or myself, And you'll soon see the hazard to your health..." Th song was haunting and strong, sung in a deep, low voice, a warning to this mischievous Caella. Raynor continued to swim, ready for a fight. [/scrolly]

Oomara was almost disappointed when he turned away, but her words got to him and he turned back to leap into the water. She darted beneath a rock cleft, her faded pelt almost matching the sandy sea floor. He started his song, and her spine fur bristled at the dark and haunting tone. She had to admit, he was good.
Nearing the end of his song she matched his rhythm and spoke a song of her own to him. Her voice was light and airy, sounding all around so the source was untraceable. Her words flowed like molasses in a nonthreatening manner. Clearly this male thought she was going to attack him but she wasn’t.
All I want to do is play, never to attack or rest and lay, they call me Oomara as the name, and music is my only game, my rule is never to hurt or harm, only to lure those in with charm, did you come in for the chase or just to attack? For one thing is certain; with this beauty your heart will crack.
She rushed upward and sped swiftly in front of him with her sapphire scales tinkling like little metal stones. She darted off, diving deep and swimming under a stone into a small cavern. She knows her way around; she turned to the right and took that tunnel. This was a maze she loved to be in; in the center was a cove with sunlight glinting of the walls which were made of jade, ivory, and onyx. Maybe he would like it.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] The large Cael followed her as best he could, listening to her song, yet finding no comfort in the well sung words, even if they were wonderful. A hard life had taught the fighter to always be on his guard and so he was. It was beginning to irritate Raynor: Was she bad, or good? He wanted to find out and soon, his patience was coming to its end.
Suddenly she darted out in front of him, and his golden eyes narrowed as he watched her swim under a rock. He pushed himself easily forward to follow her, squeezing under the crevice and following her sapphire tail to some sort of a cave. Twinkling lights of ivory, jade and onyx met his golden eyes, and he watched for a moment, marveling at the beauty, but only for a moment before his attention rested on her, this Oomara as she called herself.
He flicked his tail and came up in front of her, his expression stern as he finished his song: "And now you've lead me here, And am I to fear, A sudden attack or fight, As the sun rests for the night, You call yourself Oomara, so speak now, And try and convince me you mean no foul." His golden eyes bore into hers as he waited for her to answer, watching carefully. As much as her voice was soft and dreamlike, his was strong and bold, opposites yet both beautiful in their own way.

The female cael swam upwards, above the other, and watched him carefully. She let the water pull her down, until she was floating in front of this male. Her copper gaze was soft as she swam in awe of his golden ones. They pierced into her own, and would normally send her running but not this time. Her copper gaze was soft and melted as she watched his eyes. A silence hung in the air for a few moments, before she sang again, her words quiet and melody soft.
Am I to swm in fear or sing? Am I to run or to hope I cling? I do not battle it is not fair, The way your pelt shimmers in the air. As for me, I am weak, and not one to fight, Instead, I prefer to run from fright. By flirtatious means I lead you here, And strange enough... I have no fear...
Her words were quiet and growing quieter as she finished. The tempo slowed, and she floated there in front of him with her face blank, but copper eyes glimmering with hope. To give up, she should, but no. Too afraid to be alone she was. One more chance is all Mari's asking for.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] The fighter watched her like a hawk, prepared for any hint of attack or even a sly glimmer in her eyes, but none came. Confused, and more than a little annoyed, he listened to her song: It was an odd duet they were singing, but even he had to admit, rather interesting. Who was she? Why did she want to talk to him? The situation intrigued him, and he wondered what to say next.
He flicked his tail, and gazed into her copper eyes with his bold golden ones, curious. If he'd been with his old pack, he would have had to kill her on sight, and he was suddenly glad he had been exiled, even if he still bore the scars of that betrayal inside his heart. Was that hope he saw in those shining depths?
He cleared his throat, unsure at first, which almost never happened to the confident male. And so he sang in a low voice, not menacing anymore but cautious, still a little filled with mistrust: " Please do not swim in fear of me, I now believe your haunting melody, I am Raynor, a fighter in my pack, And I must apologize for my lack, Of a pleasant smile and friendly voice, Although you still have a choice, To run away and never meet again, Or stay awhile and be my friend." The large Cael introduced himself, and waited with curiosity glimmering in his eyes. [/scrolly]

I’m sorry for my luring game I do thank you for speaking your name I shall give mine, Oomara may it be And you yourself sing a sweet harmony Yes, it is a friend I need From being lonely, from my heart I bleed Without a chance to try again I do not deserve a friend…
Oomara lowered her gaze, in shame for her last chance at hope only because she lured in a male. This was not her, she wasn’t usually like this. The cael bowed her head in apology for swimming around him to slowly lead out. She couldn’t be given hope so soon; she didn’t deserve it. Brightness she already knew didn’t care about her. Nelio wasn’t one much for loving others except as friends and family. Crow was much too rambunctious for her own good. Her eyes welled with tears but they merely floated out into the water, sparkling like little diamonds. She shook her head to rid herself of the emotional pain and clumsily ran into a rocky wall. She floated back, dazed, then sped out for fear of being seen in her pitiful state.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Guilt slowly consumed the Cael as he watched her sadden, and his eyes softened at her depressing song: All she had wanted was a friend, and he had been impatient and aggressive with her. He cursed his lack of poise and calm like Faye or Stone had, and he swam in front of her quickly before she could run away, all mistrust gone from his heart and eyes. Maybe it was time to give her a chance after all.
He watched her tear up, and he blocked the exit to the cave, watching her. His voice was gentle and kind for once, he hated to see other wolves suffer: " No, sweet Cael, it is I who is sorry for treating you such, When you deserved kindness, oh so much, You do deserve a friend, being one so nice, Please listen to my advice, Stay awhile and talk and swim with me, So we can be friends with our own syphony, Don't be lonely, for I am here, There is no need of me to fear..." His golden eyes pleaded for her to stay, and he truly was sorry for being so angry with her, she didn't deserve that, even if her methods were a little odd.
To lighten the mood, he grinned and winked at her, splashing a little with his large gold tail. [/scrolly]

Oomara looked back up at the male who called himself Raynor, and her eyes glistened with tears. She looked away, turning her narrow head from his direction. She hesitated a moment before turning back around to head toward her little pool of seawater that they were just in. She turned around to watch him, the smile on her maw gone for the count. She locked her gaze on him, scanning over his figure unnoticeably. His black pelt did shimmer in the water, very light it appeared to be. His tail was full of shimmering gold scales, and was quite thick with muscle. Their tone of gold perfectly matched his eyes that pleaded into her own copper ones.
You have me now, so what do you want? I was merely trying to play, now me you’re to haunt? I do not fear I do not pain From your charming proposition I must refrain Because I have no business here To mess with you or cause you fear I haven’t had fun in what seems like many a Moon Although with our situation I grant you one boon What you wish I shall do, without a question to ask My game is done, I have nothing to do so give me a task It does not matter the deed for it will be done If you seek this friendship then let’s move to the sun…
She glanced up at him before glancing back at the entrance, and gave him a pleading look as she headed towards the tube and swam out slowly, looking back frequently to see if he was following.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Raynor nodded and smiled hesitantly: She had been playful and nice, him irritated and annoyed. Now she seemed sad and scared and he was the one trying to be happy and nice. It all seemed so odd to him, and he let her pass, muttering under his breath: "Females..." He watched her go for a moment, then followed at a leisurely pace, curious. He broke the top of the water, his golden eyes searching for her as he reached the shore, transforming back into his wolf form. The sun was almost down, and the sky was purple, pink, orange and red, tinged with a darker blue at the top.
He called to her with his song as he sat and waited: "I do not need anything that you can give, A more peaceful life I now live, No more harm shall be caused by me, I do not have you, Mari, You're free as the this very beach, Holding your heart and soul from my reach, I mean you no harm, I just want to be friends, I just seek to make amends." He finished with a saddened look and waited for her.
"I'm sorry, Mari, for causing you distress, can't we just be friends? I'd like to get to know you better." He called to her in his deep voice. In his own pack, he knew of no Caels, since the Alliance was mostly Lupuses and Lumen, which didn't bother him much. Raynor wondered where she was, and if she'd run away.[/scrolly]

Mari reached the shore and leapt out, dragging herself on the sand as her tail shifted into her slender, fragile wolf legs. She walked clumsily back to sit beside Raynor and watch the sunset. Her copper eyes were unfocused, and her body relaxed as if in a dream. She was always mesmerized by the sunset, and intrigued with its ability to show many colors that do not normally belong in the sky. She didn’t speak and only assumed Raynor knew she was sitting beside him. She was almost relaxed by the silence that hung in the air.
You know Raynor… they say the sunset contained the keys to the answers we never receive. Have you ever wanted to just dive into the sunset to search for those keys? Hoping the ones you find unlock the answers you need…
Oomara’s voice was soft and light, and in the dream world she was. She let the wind lift her fur and flow throuhh; and she let Raynor’s presence warm her from the inside out. Sighing, she just let what happened, happened.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] The Cael pondered her words as he watched the sunset, enjoying her serene and dreamlike presence. He felt like he could tell her anything without being judged for it, and that she'd keep it a secret. "Yes, sometimes, Oomara. When I feel lonely, or sad. I love my pack, and friends, but sometimes I just want to escape it all, and search for my old pack. You see, I'm a long, long way from where I came from." he told her, his voice low and his golden eyes a little misty as he thought of his past.
"I used to be in a very rigid pack, and I was expected to kill without reason besides an order from a higher ranking wolf, to train for several hours everyday and never feel love or pity for other wolves. But I was banned, because I didn't kill a young wolf who was accidentally trespassing on our land. My father found me later, and could have warned the rest of the pack, they would have killed me, hell, I expected him to. But he didn't, and it was at that moment that I had the most respect for my father. I'd love to see him again, and my mother and old friends, but if I go back, they'll kill me." Raynor finished, and looked into her own copper eyes.
"What was your family like?" He asked her, curious. [/scrolly]
