Oomara listening only halfly to Raynor’s response, and she was slightly shocked when she felt him relax when she remained there. She didn’t speak; only listened willingly, for that was what she was taught. She listened in slight fear as he spoke of his original pack that had the sense to murder almost every wolf, and that fear turned to awe as he explained his disobedience to kill a young wolf. She herself was saddened when he told her his father had gone against the pack to help him. She wished she had a sire like that. Her copper orbs glistened with forming tears and they fell from her pelt within moments. She avoided his gaze, for fear of being discriminated.
I have no family. I’m alone. I came from a single family; my other was a gentle lupus and my father was a stubborn yagi. My brother was a yagi named Simon, and he was my best friend. But you see, I’m cael. Where do I fit into that family?
Tears flowed faster from her eyes as she met Raynor’s gaze, and her voice was shaky as she spoke. Her light airy voice was now saddened deeply and shaking like an earthquake. Her thin legs trembled slightly, but unnoticeably unless you looked for it.
I don’t. I never did. Eventually my father scolded me and told me I was worthless and didn’t belong anywhere except the ground I was to die on. Ever since then he’s been trying to kill me. And I don’t trust anyone because of it; that’s why I always escape to my dream world. But that world is fading away the more I’m pulled back down to earth.
She was now almost fully crying, but her voice steadied. It was still deeply stained with pain but at least it was audible. She turned away from Raynor, not wanting to see or hear what he would think for fear of her being considered a pitifully weak female – which she was but still didn’t want to be considered one.
