A beautiful soft sound that Red didn't often hear. He was lying side down with his head raised, squinting at the intense sunlight. It was midday and the sun at its zenith warming the day up. He missed this, missed being able to relax without being interrupted and without stuff on his mind. He allowed his head to fall back to the soft white sand.
Sea scents wreathed around his nose, relaxing him. One could almost say that he didn't led a harsh life thanks to his relaxed posture and from the pure happiness on his white face. The only mark that showed his harsh life was a scar on his nape from that fight with a blue wolf. He wrinkled his muzzle and shook it off. He was meant to relax and clear his mind of any troubles.
Now everything would be so perfect if there weren't any wolves who may decide to disturb this soothing moment. This was his wish.

After having met Crow and Swalleena, which had been a nice- if not rather odd and eccentric- was a nice break from the boring monotony that had become Verboten's life for the past years. Her red coat contrasted sharply with the cerulean that was the ocean's water, and the sand made her steps sink in. She lifted each paw in turn -and, like a cat, shook them out. The sand fluttered around, a sort of dusty cloud before it settled again. Her ears radioed in on the sounds, taking in the waves. Though no Cael's were present, Crow and Swalleena had satisfied her appetite for company, if only for a moment. Turning towards the water, she sat down and yawned; jaws parting wide and her head shaking at the strength of it. She remained this way for quite some time, content to just sit and take it all in. No wonder Cael's are so beautiful. They live in paradise, Verboten thought absently.
She had not noticed that, not far off, another wolf took in what she did. Verboten slowly turned away, preparing to continue on, when she finally caught sight of him. -And the sight she caught made her heart stutter for a moment. Such beauty! Such intricate designs! A red design under his eye that reminded her of wind, underneath, upon his snowy cheek, were two red spots. A red line went from the front of his eye in a line to his nose. Red in a mane down his back, strange red designs criss-crossing his spine.
...Whoa. Was all that she could manage out, her breath truly taken from her. Her 'voice of reason' appeared, firmly kicking her rear in gear. Enough goggling! Stand straight! Tall! TAIL FLARE! As the words, the orders, were issued -some call it instinct, but could instinct really have a conversation with you?- the demands were followed. Her feet spread out slightly, her body as tall and straight as a Lyxxus could be. All four tails flared out, along the same line. Ears dropped, eyes remained locked, however. The iris flared brightly, positively glowing phosphorescent.
He lounged, and something kept her from interrupting his peace. So she sat down, tails laying flat, a soft smile upon her face. A lupus. For once, not Cael.
((Hope you don't mind me butting in! IT said 'open' so... ^-^))

Almost as if it were having trouble shifting from one hour to the next, but always moving forwards and never back. Another thing moving forwards was an ugly looking creature, following the scent of her prey just outside the waters edge.
The blind serpent, mongrel of a fish, always having to move forward from the murky depths to satiate her seeming unyielding hunger. She had just given birth to young as well, which made her both hungry and territorial. To see such a creature from the safety of the land, its pinked hued scales dancing innocently under the waves, one might think; 'oh what a beautiful creature', but when you got close you would notice the total opposite, with blind eyes always searching, and a huge mouth ready to swallow you whole.
As the sea creature neared the landmass before her, her senses picked up two wolves, and pride overtook her hunger. Say she caught both of them? Her young and herself would be very happy. But this was the tricky part you see, because she couldn't just walk up and snatch them, no, this required some creative thinking.
Idling along the shore, like one who would be pacing, the blind serpent carefully planned out her attack on the unsuspecting meals. As soon as the thought cemented itself in her mind, the predator was gone, swimming furiously toward the shoreline. With one ferocious flick of her thick tail, she sent water crashing upon the cove in a frightening display of foam and force. Hopefully it was enough to knock the wolves clean off their feet, sending them down to the crashing waves below. Then, they would be in her domain, and hers for the taking!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,300,true][bg=8f969d] [scrolly: w(300), h(300), sy]Red's eyelids started to drop slowly as he struggled to stay awake. He didn't want to sleep, he just wanted to lay down and rest. He moved his body slightly in an effort to remain awake but, despite all of his struggles, sleep soon overcame him. There he lay, peacefully. His serene face stilled into a short forgetfulness. It was almost as if Red was like any normal lupus with a normal life and parents. With a mother who was still alive, waiting for the day her son to come home. With a father who wasn't constantly on run, who taught him normal things like any normal father should. Not about how to murder wolves, how to hide his tracks and how to manipulate others into doing whatever he wants.
A strange scent started to bother his dreamless sleep. His nose twitched and the scent formed into a dream; he was on a beach and a wolf was standing somewhere near him. Then he suddenly woke up with an odd sensation prickling his skin. He felt as if he was being watched so he raised his head and looked around him. That was when he saw her. She was sitting down and looking at him with a smile upon her face. What really caught his eyes was her tails. A lyxxus. Red found them the most interesting out of all species... Except for perhaps the lupus. Despite this he snorted and rested his head back on the sand again, completely ignoring her.
He had came here to rest, not to socialise. Until recently he had moved from a place to another place many times without being interrupted. Was he losing his touch? He sniffed. Or perhaps other wolves were learning how to be sharp. He was rolling onto his other side, his white face away from her when a miniature tsunami caught him. It swept the lupus toward the sea.
This certainly had shook him awake. His front legs moved swiftly but awkwardly in a struggle to get his nose into air. Fuck! He hissed weakly, choking on the seawater. He hated water. Hated it with a such passion. He would never ever go near any water for any reason except to drink. And that meant he had never learned how to swim. His desperation was showing in the every inch of his body as he was stuck underwater with limbs flailing helplessly. Then he caught a sight of a pink blur and screamed.
