There was not a sound, save the soft rumbling from the beach below. There was not a sight, save the softly red Lyxxus meandering about. There was not a scent, save the Lyxxus' own. There was not a taste but the taste of blood.
The Lyxxus shook her head, ears pinned back. Her pelt was soaked through, and she felt another contracting shiver pass through her. The normally fluffed out, cheery, fire-colored Lyxxus pelt was stuck straight to her skin, ribs poking out slightly. But this was fine, the only problem was that something else besides water plastered the female's fur to her. Behind her, at least a few yards off, was the carcass of a small fawn. The Lyxxus seemed not to care that she had most of the fawns blood on her. Instead, she walked on, bored.
Wow, I cannot believe how boring this place gets. She thought to herself. An annoying, whiny voice she liked to call her Voice of Reason(able Idiocy) piped up- once again at odds with her opinions.
--What? Boring?
Yes, shock, this place gets boring. -And it brings up bad memories... Maybe I'll leave tonight...
TONIGHT? LEAVE? Psh, you've got no sense! Wait until the moon hits the water... bam! Cael's up the wazoo!
"Why do I not believe you?" Her own voice spoke aloud, shocking her and making her jump. The hoarseness of it was palpable, like a set of sharpened Lyxxi claws biting into stone.
Because you're an idiot.
"AM NOT!"
Are too.
"AM. NOT."
ARE. TOO.
The bickering continued thus for sometime, until it slowly devolved into a heated screaming argument in which Verboten screamed both sides of the argument. This sounded something like...
"YOU ARE A SELF-CENTERED WENCH! --WHAT? I AM NOT! --Yes, you are. And you deserved every cut you- --No. Shut up. --Yes, I won't. "
Why, might you ask, was she acting that way? -You see, for a short time after starving (and a little accidental poisoning from decaying matter) Verboten got a little... punchy. She never stopped this, though, because she never knew what happened. On occasion, she'd 'wake up', drenched in blood and sweating. She wouldn't feel hungry, normally pumped up. And she would be fine until she got hungry again.
It was these times that made her so frightened of herself, and on occasion she wouldn't realize she was bloody, though other wolves would... and sometimes they said it was wolf blood.
Shaking her head, the Lyxxus snarled and smacked herself by ramming her skull into the earth. A soft thud, and Verboten lay on her back, looking up at the sky, having completed an unintended somersault.
