Sometimes, during the night she crawled down the stairs to the spring or to the waterfall protecting the pack’s den area, and rooted around for grubs, and water. So far the little myou looked half starved, only eating what Erena ate was not enough to keep the rest of her body substantially full and full of nutrients. After her nice scrubbing she had done down at the spring she had felt better and the fact that she had not run into Vereine was both a blessing and a curse. Erena’s smug smile was evidence that her second soul knew exactly how she felt about the other myou.
It was still early, the blazing sun had not even risen yet, which was good for Oteka, having slept most of the day she had become nocturnal, which was even better for Erena. It would seem there was a tacit agreement between the two that if Oteka could be left along within her own mind more than half the time, she would not torture her second soul into madness. The thought had occurred to her that if Erena actually did lost her mind, within the shell of Oteka’s what might happen to her. Even though she thought about dying constantly, or almost constantly, madness while living was not something she was prepared to handle. Her current madness with another voice in her head was quite enough. The air was still thick, and hard to breathe, and it would only become more stifling when the sun came up, which is why she intended to try to find or catch something small enough to eat that might fill her up more than the grubs Erena liked.
During a chase Erena had learned rather quickly to keep her fears and screams to herself, Oteka had tried to drown herself more than once due to the screams of her second soul during a hunt and it was just something that could not be approved of. She had to eat. Stepping out of her den and began to stretch out what muscle she had left, lifting her heavy “beaver-like” tail thanks to Vereine and stretch that as well. She clacked her bill this way and that, she knew she had to be a sight, all fluffed out and different colored, but for once she didn’t care the growling in her stomach was too much. With that thought she made her way down the stairs to the lower parts of the canyon where more prey could be found trying to get water before they were subjected to the extreme heat.
The smaller female made her way down the stairs, her webbed toes for once being an advantage, and spread out over the sandy and rocky bottom of the canyon, instead of scrambling the rocks, Oteka slid over them, seemingly absorbing them into her feet and passing over them. When she reached the edge of the water she slid in near silently and began to paddle over the surface with grace and precision. With her bill in the water all that shined in the little light where her eyes as she stared over the banks for some creature that desperately needed a drink.
Happiness surged through her body as she watched a small, very scared rabbit head for the banks. It’s head turned to left to right very quickly and Oteka’s eyes slitted into those of a predator as she paddled slightly closer and off to the side. The small ripples where disguised by the fish that inhabited the spring but her mind was on the glorious catch in front of her. She would get as close as possible to the bank and watched as the timid creature came closer, and closer, finally dipping down to drink. With the water masking her scent she waited until the right moment and surged from the water, it spraying everywhere, she had actually came up rear end first and used her paddle like tail to knock the squealing creature into the water. The scared sounds from the rabbit as it began to flail and drown were drowned out by Oteka’s own mind as she pulled the creature down into the water until it stopped struggling. Because of her lack of sharp teeth and such, she had to depend on unorthodox methods of hunting, drowning her prey being one of them.
As she was carrying her prey to the bank and about to indulge in a wonderful meal, she decided to use her tail for one more thing, because she looked like a swimming creature and had the webbed feet, many fish did not seek to fear her until it was too late. Once she reached the shallow area she kicked one of the fish away from her body until she realized her claw was stuck within the creature. She swung her leg back and forth much to Erena’s delight as she fell over on the sandy bank, flung the fish up, it bounced up smacked her on the head on the way down and fell onto the rabbit. She rolled her eyes, snarled, and shook her head and feet, what had turned into a very successful hunt, had ended in humiliation…thank Spirit no one had seen that….using her claws, one of the only advantages she had she sliced open the rabbit and began to feast on the more tender pieces of meat first because she did not have the sharper teeth to tolerate leaner, tough meats. This would be a meal that would fulfill her….if only someone could actually share her company… [/scrolly]

Voltaic was beside herself. For once in the past few months, she had found a way to not come off as, as some would say, barbaric or threatening. Perhaps now she could actually have a real life, complete with friends and family, even if that family was not blood. Though this made her happy this also brought a sharp pain to her heart. She missed her siblings and her friends. She had no way of knowing if Gyvolt or Silven were still alive. All she could do was hope that they were. One thing was for certain, she would never go back their again. Not even if her life depended on it. Too many memories. Too many regrets.
The large female walked forward, crashing her paws into the hard earth as she went. Never had she needed the art of silence. Everything in regards to being sneaky were done for her. She was the brute force, always has been. It wasn't like she was hunting right now. Her nose led her to water, something she had needed for a while but didn't quite know where it was. Asking for help wasn't exactly something she was used to.
A frown folded over her face as she stopped at the edge of a steep cliff. Below she could see the waters, their deep blue indicating their depth. A shiver rolled down her spine as she thought about it. Not something this she wolf took a liking to. The water that is. Voltaic hated swimming, in fact she just sank. The water just HAD to be at the side of a cliff face. She thought bitterly looking for an area where she would be able to climb down.
Paws shifted as she paced northward until she could find a ledge just wide enough for her slightly over sized physique. Not that she was fat or anything, but muscle tended to expand the body in a latitudinal fashion, not to mention she wasn't exactly small either. Slowly, but surely, Voltaic worked her way down the cliff face. She was sure to place her paws in areas that allowed for a satisfactory grip.
But Voltaic became slightly careless about three feet away from the ground and placed her paw on loose dirt. Her teeth clenched as the ground gave way and her front right leg slid forward. As quick as she could, she brought her left leg in front of her and stopped the sliding, ending up in a rather unladylike pose. Her rear end was straight up and her front paws outstretched, more in an overly exaggerated play bow.
A frown creased over her face, cheeks pressed together by both her shoulders. All this for water? She thought, slowly righting herself and jumping down from the edge with a rather predominate thud.
Slowly she approached the edge of the spring, careful not to get closer than she needed to. She wasn’t paying much attention to everything around her, just the cool water as she lapped it up and swallowed in satisfaction. It was the first time in a long time that Volt was able to take a drink without the worry of being attacked or run off. After a few laps of water she raised her head and sat back, licking her muzzle and allowing her tongue to bush over her most noticeable scar.
It was at that moment that she took in a deep breath. The scent of another caught her attention. Bicolor eyes swiveled off to her left to see the form of another wolf at the edge of the spring. Her ears perked up as she examined the other female, not quite sure how to react. After all, Voltaic was only just getting used to the scent of the pack. She half wondered if she, herself smelled right. Lost as to what to do, Volt simply looked at the other, ears up and the shock of seeing another wolf was clear in her eyes.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,392,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/6nVp.png][scrolly:h(249),w(392),sy]It would seem there would be no peace for the platypus myou, even though the most humiliating part of the evening seemed to be over she never doubted things could always get worse. Like unexpected company for one…Erena’s voice in the back of her head chided and scolded and tried to get her to see this for the positive it could be, but Oteka would simply not be compromised into believing such nonsense. Her dark chocolate brown bill might have had a smile if only for the fact that she watched this larger ..apparently female lupus fall practically off the stares into a rather..amusing position. For once it would seem someone else was making a spectacle of themselves. However, when it was all said and done she could stand up and brush it off. For Oteka, she couldn’t just brush off her bill and tail and paws. Not she was stuck like this.
Erena was smart enough to remain silent, her attention on the fact that the wolf coming close to the water was a lot larger than she was, and looked more damaging, which was just how Oteka liked it. The bigger they were, sometimes, the more damaging they could be, and it wasn’t unknown for the little myou to bring a fight on herself if only to shut Erena up by losing consciousness during a fight. It would seem this female did not like water, but as big as she was, she might just sink if she fell in, good to know for any drastic escape plans as for as Oteka was concerned. In fact Erena was already screaming, near screeching for her to use the water as a separation and make haste back to her den, regardless of the fact the other female smelled like a pack member.
Oteka rolled her eyes, there was no way she was going to carry back two sets of prey up those stairs which were hard enough to navigate with webbed paws, just because a fat female had come down for a drink. She began to use her claws to slice the other prey open, saving the fish for last. She needed to eat the bloodied meat while it was fresh and soft, otherwise her bill would get in the way and what teeth she did have would not be able to break it down. She held it in between her webbed claws, watching the other female as she continued to eat. For once she would not be run off, no matter what the other looked liked.
When the other female did bother to look her way, Oteka’s eyes shimmered with disgust, didn’t she have any manners other than to stare? She did not know the other female was staring because she was the first wolf she had seen and smelled in the territory, she thought it was because of her bill, tail and odd looks. A nasty little smile flipped on her face as blood and meat began to run down her face as she gorged herself on her well won meal. Across the water she did bother to speak to her however, “Maybe if you stare hard enough you can memorize what I look like fluffy!” It was a rather….nice way of calling the other female fat.
Oteka had never been one for niceties and she was not going to start now the only thing that made her thankful was the fact that it wasn’t Vereine sitting over there. If Rhiannon expected Oteka to be the welcome wagon for the pack she had another damn thing coming. The only reason she resided in this hot as hell, dangerous wasteland was to have adequate weaponry against her second soul. Her dull eyesight glared at the other wolf across the way as her tail beat angrily against her body. She had no idea what was coming next but she did attempt to inhale her food just in case she would soon be knocked out…or had to run..whichever was proper. [/scrolly]

The appearance of the other female wasn't something Voltaic had ever seen before. Her muzzle and tail were flat, rudder like, and her paws webbed. She had seen many different myou wolves, which she assumed this one was, but not one of this nature. Then again, some of the ones she attacked in a blind rage could have looked similar. She wasn't able to recall those though and wasn't sure if she really wanted to.
Volt's confused look turned into a light frown when the other female looked at her in disgust, blood finding its way down her... whatever that was. A small, very quick twitch came over the right side of her muzzle at the other's words and her ears flicked back for a second. However, she gave no verbal response. Instead she took a deep breath before exhaling and giving her tail a quick tap on the ground to show she wasn't exactly appreciative of the comment.
Seeing that the other wasn't fond of her surprised look, Voltaic turned her head and stood up, walking a few paces farther from where the other she wolf was enjoying her meal. What in the lands did I do to deserve that remark?[/color] She thought, walking off to the edge of the cliff face and laying down in the provided shade.
Her eyes trailed out to look over the water. Fish swam effortlessly through the currents, half way making Volt jealous and causing a light frown to appear on her brow. Her right ear flicked at the light touch of breeze blowing by. She hated that that ear was so darn sensitive. Ever since it had been ripped in half it had been giving her issues. It tickled more often and at times she felt as though the rest of it were still there.
Out of the corner of her right orange eye, she could still see the other female but made sure as to not stare at her. This was simply just to watch and make sure she was safe laying here and the other wouldn't get all uppity about this being her space or something of the sort. Wonder if she meant 'fluffy' as in fat.[/color] She thought letting her gaze fall on her front legs. She never thought herself as fat, but then again, the muscle was prized where she had come from. Her size there was a good thing. Would it be seen as a weakness here? She wasn't all that sure and didn't know if she wanted to find out either.
Least that was a better reaction than what I’m used to. Still don’t know what to say… And that would be Volt’s issue for many suns to come. It would be a wonder if any ever got her out of this beaten form and into a more social one. Though it was doubtful this she wolf would spend that kind of time. After all, she had snapped at Volt when all she was was shocked at seeing her there. Oh well, maybe the other would start the conversation... or argument at this point.
At least Voltaic had some company however snippy it may turn out to be.

She could handle someone who fired back or insulted her as Vereine did, she could even call another wolf’s bluff. But silence…silence was truly scary. She raised one of her wider to look at the female in turn. She screamed a lupus, albeit…a rather large one all things considered. She wondered if the other female was mute…to which Erena giggled within her mind. ‘Wouldn’t that just suit you fine to have someone who refuses to go through this trivial process with you?’ She smirked and snorted aloud to her second soul’s comment, Erena could be a serious pain in the ass.
She watched very carefully as the other moved to be able to sit underneath a tree, even though it was night time, Oteka knew the value of shade. If she would have had a nose or muzzle it would have wrinkled up in all sorts of ways. But she went back to enjoying her meal in any sort. After finishing the smaller mammal she moved on to the fish and sighed in delight. The natural salts and vegetation from the canyon’s water gave it a more seasoned taste and even through her bill she was in heaven. Her malnourished body needed the sustenance and it was not long before the fish was down to it’s bones and scales before her.
Her stomach felt bloated, and now she almost, not quite, but almost felt sorry for that fluffy comment concerning the other female. Oteka had never been truly fat, had never been a place where she could eat almost constantly unlike now. Even now when she was emotional overwrought she chose to punish herself with not eating. Although, it did have it’s downside when her second soul could put her through hell until she got up and began to eat. Now that she felt like a swollen toad she sat up and cleaned her bill and wiped her claws in the dirt all around to remove the scents of blood and prey.
She said lowly, but still enough to be heard…”A long enough time here, and you might not stay that big Fluff. The days here are…close to unbearable. I hear only the desert is as hot as it is here. You must have come from somewhere where all that fur and thickness came in handy.” She wasn’t asking technically, she at least she was trying to be social…in her weird..off putting way. She didn’t move too far away from the water after all, if a fight did break out she needed to be as close as possible to a get away…Erena was seemingly dancing in happiness with the fact that the other she wolf did not engage.
Her deep chocolate eyes glimmered within the night around them, and she watched for other shapes, be they pack members or strangers to the canyon. She had never felt it was her job to defend the pack lands considering how she was built. But she supposed if she had to she could scratch out an eye or something….Her head tilted with the very thoughts running through her mind. “Not that its my concern but obviously you haven’t been here long?” There was plenty of night left for an argument…she kept that nice sprig of hope in the back of her mind as she glared at the female from across the water.. Noting that the brown colored she wolf was busying herself with her meal, or meals, Voltaic lowered her head to rest on her front paws. It made difference to her what time of day it was, area she was in provided no one to flank her. This way she could focus more on what was in front of her rather than if anything or anyone was coming up behind her. She sighed softly, tucking her back legs in closer to her body and folding her dark tipped tail along her side.
To keep herself occupied for the time being, she began playing with a small amount of wind before her, weaving it around the fallen leaves and other such items. It was a simple small trail, something she did simply to pass the time and nothing more. At least, not any more. It used to be a way to keep her sane but she prefers not to think about those things anymore.
When the other spoke, Voltaic picked up her head and shifted her body to face the other, letting the wind fade off where ever it wished. The statements made by the other gave Volt mixed feelings. At first she was bitter, now realizing that the fluffy comment really was based on her weight. The next set of comments received a raised brow. She doubted anywhere would be half as bad as where she came from. Weather she could deal with, but her former pack etiquette left emotional and physical scars that were hard to forget. But the last comment sent a hard frown over her face and her eyes narrowed slightly in irritation. She didn't like being reminded of where she came from, at least not this directly.
Slowly she calmed herself. The frown should, in her opinion, be enough for the other to notice the distaste she had on the subject. Though Volt didn't know that this she wolf actually wanted some sort of argument or fight. The other, both of them not on a true name basis, scanned the area around them. This caused Volt to become slightly amused. She placed her right paw over her left and observed as the other as she looked at their surroundings. Something like that would have gotten that one torn to pieces. It showed they did not feel safe in their own lands, which also got Voltaic to wonder if these lands were intruded on often.
When the other looked back, Volt's amused look vanished, though her paws remained crossed. Her ears flicked at the other's question before she tilted her head in a questioning way, eyes narrowing ever so slightly. Were the others of the pack not informed when another joined? To her that was very odd. She had always thought that packs, real packs, always knew when another became a part of the pack. A way to avoid less conflict and all.
"Correct..." She said after a moment, her voice filled with confusion and a little on the deep side. She looked at the other for a moment, shifting her position once more so that her paws were no longer crossing. She was beginning to realize that she was going to need a good run through on pack life. Everything was so different from what she remembered and from what she had been used to. Though she doubted this female would be the one to ask how things were. She seemed more intent on staring Voltaic down than anything else.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,392,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/6nVp.png][scrolly:h(249),w(392),sy]So it was that this female would surely be the death of her. Her silence was well and utterly beginning to piss the odd looking female off. Oteka’s eyes glittered dangerously full of temper and wraith, while Erena, completely delighted with the situation couldn’t help but make happy noises in the back of her mind. Oteka was muttering mentally over and over something akin to ‘Shut up, shut up before I go over and there and bite the female’s tail off and let her scratch my eyes out. How would you like to never see the sun again, especially since you see through my eyes? I could always make sure she maims or breaks something, then you’d never get close the water again..’ The second soul’s noises abruptly ended as she was effectively cowed by the other female who was seemingly in charge.
To Oteka the other female seemed completely paranoid, and more suited to loner life than any pack life. That must have been saying something for Oteka never did anything for the pack that she was in, for all she did do she might as well have been a prisoner, although she was allowed to run her mouth near continuously to those around her. But the Cadre did scream more a band of loners and rogues lately than anything else. When she had first come here there seemed to be many members, now the numbers seemed to be dwindling and falling off. But if she were truly to ever make peace with Erena, she could not stay here either, she would need a wetter and greener place to truly thrive. Lucky for Oteka she was not looking to thrive, only to torture and survive.
Her eyes glared at the other female, watching the wind kick up in front of her blow around harmless debris. She snorted and thought, ‘Wind lupus….how interesting, perhaps she could be useful when the days seem to melt all of us alive..’ Erena smirked and shook her head, ‘Well with you calling her a fat ass I doubt she’d help you if you were hanging off a cliff, let alone having a small heat stroke.’Oteka supposed for all intensive purposes Erena was right, if she had been nicer, perhaps there was a chance to use the other being. But in reality Oteka didn’t want to be close to anyone, it was sheer dumb luck and hell that she and Vereine shared a pack. More hell than luck. She watched her frown and it brought a rather twisted, and odd looking smile to her bill. Ah, a nerve, she had managed to hit a nerve…
She shrugged her shoulders and rolled around on the ground for a moment before she spoke again, “I guess whoever you were with before cut out your tongue? Maybe forced you to be quiet under the harshest cir-cum-stan-ces?” She enunciated the words in a rather cruel manner, but once the female had let her in with her reaction Oteka had no intentions of letting her be quiet and introverted now. The moon above glinted in her dark brown eyes, and even with their natural reflective second eyelid, they were bright even in the darkness. If she used the second eyelid she would look as though she were blind, but it did help under the water, and during storms and such. When her ears did pick up on her speaking however short she looked completely astonished, faking of course.
“Why it speaks, the fluffy one speaks! You honor me with one word your royal fluff-ness.” She sneered lightly although looked at her as though she was crazy for sounding confused…”You think Rhiannon really howls out to us every time a new wolf comes into the land to join? She has more important things to do than let a bunch of rogues and loners who is coming and going. I hear she has had pups.” Not that it was any of her business, not really, she didn’t like pups, their lack of tact was worse than hers on a bad day and she needed no more heavy stares or stupid questions about how she looked or anything else. For now she decided not to speak anymore. The other wolf either would or she wouldn’t and Oteka while she had all night would simply continue to stare stupidly at the other wolf until she got over the realization that she wasn’t mute, nor was she in her last pack or whatever, and that even in their meanest form, wolves were social creatures. It might be a long night of silent staring but Oteka figured she could do that too. [/scrolly]

The words burned into Voltaic's mind as the other spoke again. They caused her eyes to light up with anger and her ears pined flat against her skull. The enunciation of the final word is what did it. A low rumble filled her chest, but she staid where she was. Even though this female was more than annoying, she couldn't bring herself to attack her. She was pack, and to her pack meant family. At least, it meant family under this situation. Her other "pack" wasn't exactly a pack at all. It was a group of highly skilled assassins being led by a blood thirst, power hungry rouge.
This nameless female was really pushing her buttons, and Volt was starting to get the impression that she was doing so on purpose. What is wrong with this one? Her mind kept screaming, frustrated that the other didn't even try to be friends. Instead she mocked and prodded at Voltaic as if she were at the bottom of the food chain. Was she at the bottom? Perhaps maybe she was.
At the following sarcastic comment, Voltaic rolled her eyes and huffed, sending small particles of dirt up and around her. Is everyone in this pack like her? Fluff, Fluffy and now Royal Fuff-ness. What next? Maybe she'll gain some guts and just come out and call me fat. She thought, now becoming irritated. For the life of her she couldn't figure out why this she wolf seemed to have it out for her. It couldn't possibly be because of the surprised she had at seeing another wolf in the area. Or could it? That would be quite a serious social issue if this were the case.
A brow perked up at the mention of rouges and loners, and frowned a little at the mention of pups. This was not a disgusted frown in the way that she did not like pups but a frown given in response to knowing that at least two of the pack members were not, as far as she knew, near their alphess to keep an eye out and to help her. Not like this female would see the difference. For all she would know, Volt frowned as a sign of her not liking pups which could lead to an interesting topic should the other bring it up.
At the following silence, Voltaic let out a huff and looked away from the female. She shook her head lightly and let her nerves calm down before rising to her paws. "I don't see what you have against me, nor do I care to know. But I intend on making this my permanent home, even if it is a bunch of loners and rouges." She said turning her head to look at the other female. "Every place starts as nothing. It takes those in it to make it a home." Her voice was low, not angry or filled with any one emotion, just a matter of fact way of speaking. More directed at her attitude than anything else.
Without another word, Voltaic began to walk off. Whether or not the other stopped her or spoke to her again was anyone's guess. Voltaic had her mind set to go find their leader and see if she needed anything. If it was true that she was with pups then perhaps she would need a paw or had a request that she would wish to be filled. If Voltaic was stopped for whatever reason it would only delay her departure. Either way, Voltaic had made up her mind but what would the other have to say about her leaving without so much of a hint of where she was going or for what purpose? Besides, Volt just might be going in the wrong direction. Perhaps the other stopping her wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Actually males were just as bad if not worse with their philandering, insanely pathetic flirtation attempts. Oteka could not think of one wolf she had made friends with since she had come into being on this plane of existence. No doubt that it was probably her fault for that but she had yet to meet someone who genuinely liked a part of her. She wasn’t asking anyone to completely swallow or overlook her appearance but no one seemed truly interested in her, other than someone or something to gawk at. She had not entertained the thought of being around loving, caring wolves in a long time. The world just didn’t work like that, loving and kind. Pfffft. The world thrived on cruelty, blood, war and rage, and Oteka was no different.
Since being a pup she had no choice but to learn to love her loneliness for every other wolf let her know with their eyes and stares that she would always be less, be ugly, be un-worthy of true affections and love. Fairytale nonsense. Oteka had never thought of her attitude as a way to put others in their place after all, she held no rank, no high place amongst this pack of weird loner wolves. If Volt was at the bottom, Oteka was swimming along the grime with her, not without complaint of course. She could see the female getting more and more irritated, and Oteka’s ears turned and swiveled in delight as she listened carefully for any sounds that would give the female’s near to future moves away so Oteka knew just when she could hit the water for safety.
Most of the time she let other wolves figure out themselves why she was so off putting with them. In the case of Vereine she flat out told him to cut his bs, and his staring at her. ‘And where did that get you with him? A crush? Eternal love?’ Erena babbled within the back of her mind, and Oteka’s short pelt stood up on end, giving her a certain Mohawk like look to her. ‘You know I hear that serpent is still in the water, we could go for a swim in the dark Erena…’ Her angry slithered out into her mind, and she imagined teeth around the other’s throat, shutting them up. Erena took the hint and went back to….well whatever it was that she did when she wasn’t torturing Oteka.
She saw the frown when she mentioned pups, but she could not ascertain which thing she was frowning about so she simply did not try to interpret that particular facial reaction. Oteka herself would be no good with pups, they did everything she couldn’t stand and it wasn’t as though Oteka could be a complete ass to the alphess’ pups. So here she was in the middle of the night, stuffing herself with fish and rabbit, and had been interrupted by this infuriating half mute female, she almost wanted to ask how much worse life could get…but then…Vereine could show up. Paranoid as she was she looked around then, to her left and right, and even behind her. Never helped the bugger was ebony as night and could probably fly…
When she stood up and spoke Oteka simply smile, in her own weird way, it actually looked comical on her bill instead of having a muzzle. “Well I’m sure you’ll be very happy here.” When the second part of her comment hit the air, Oteka snorted loudly. “You are but one wolf in a pack. You say it takes those in it, as though you might rouse the sleeping troops to make this hot as hell canyon a home. There is no family here, beyond Rhiannon, her mate and her pups. The rest of us, we fall into place as we can, and one wolf, no matter how determined, or how big she thinks she is, will not change that…” It could have been heart-warming if Oteka wasn’t so completely cold when it came to the idea that it could have been a family. It could be, for everyone else, but once again she would be on the outside…looking in.
“If you indeed seek the alphess to be a little tattle, or the good little helper you seek, you may wish to wait until day time. From what I hear she spends her days looking after the pups, and even then she finds time to patrol the lands. She is probably close to exhaustion, that and the fact that her mate is gone, will probably put you on the bad end of a stick if you wake her in the middle of the night…” Her eyes flicked dangerously to the female, she could only assume that’s where she was headed, seeing as she stalked off after making her family speech and after hearing about Rhiannon. Not that she cared what the alphess thought of her, as of now they had not come face to face. She was still simply trying to be a pain in the ass to the suddenly talkative once mute she-wolf walking away. [/scrolly]

A small frown rolled over Volt's face at the other's comment followed by rolling her eyes and lightly shaking her head. The other had completely missed the point. Of course she wasn't going to change anything. Hell, she hardly said anything. This female seemed to get on her nerves enough to talk though, which, in all honesty, wasn't such a bad thing. Any reason for her to become the talkative self she once was was good for her, even if this method of poking and prodding wasn't exactly the best reason to have speak up.
At her next comment, Voltaic looked back at her and gave her a cold look. She intently assumed she would go and wake their leader up, at is if she was asleep. After all, their species had a rather rocky sleeping pattern. Perhaps around these parts their kind normally slept at night. No matter, she'd get used to it eventually if she had to.
For a moment, Voltaic looked away, thinking about what she should do. One thing that was prodding the back of her mind was to simply walk off in whatever direction looked decent mainly to get away from this other she wolf. But then she thought she should try at least once more to be civil with this other female. After all, there had to be a reason as to why she insisted on trying to get under her skin.
A light sigh escaped her and her shoulders relaxed, eyes looking back on the other wolf. "Honestly, who shoved a bone up your rear end? Are you just looking for an output to vent about a terrible night in order to make yourself feel better or are you always this pleasant?" Volt stated, calmly and without much of an expression at all.
The two hadn't even exchanged names and yet the other seemed fit just to ruffle her fur. To think she thought she left the rudeness and unneeded squabbles behind. Looks like she just found a new reason to keep moving on instead of staying in the first pack that didn't greet her with hostility.

Not only had she escaped the endeavor with Vereine alive, she had caught herself something to eat, she felt full and the night brought with it a coolness that could not be found in the day time. In addition to all these positives she had managed to completely irritate someone in the process. Irritate them to the point of breaking some self imposed silence they had been under. Either way she felt good enough that she could go roll into her nice clean den and probably sleep throughout the night now. A delighted sigh escaped through her bill and her mind suddenly seemed very calm, happy almost, although the feeling was so rare and unusual she didn’t quite know how to handle it. The look she gave Oteka might have frozen her if looks had such power. But they didn’t and Oteka returned a look of complete innocence, fake as it was.
Oteka was whistling within her own mind, much to Erena’s displeasure and when the inner female decided to threaten screeching in response a plethora of threats were given to dare the female to screech just one time. Half the time it was surprising Oteka heard anything over the conversations she had with Erena. It was like speaking to a mental patient with selective hearing. Oteka never thought herself particularly strange or crazy, I mean really if anyone else had a voice littered in their mind with a whole bunch of idiocy wouldn’t you threaten to drown them? As far as she was concerned she was the sane one in this relationship. She looked up at the night sky for a long moment before pushing her eyes back down to the bigger lupus to see just what her next reaction, or piece of speech would be, frankly Oteka was growing bored. She felt like the off-keel welcome wagon for this wolf and that was not what she was at all. Erena spoke, ‘You can bet you are no one’s welcome wagon..’ Groaning Oteka rolled her eyes.
Her eyes narrowed when the other turned away and forced her eyes away from her. It didn’t matter if she was thinking of what to do, Oteka just took it as one more thing she didn’t like about the female and rolled her eyes and turned her body away about to walk back to her den to enjoy the rest of the night without these kind of annoyances. When the other spoke out towards her again, with the most idiotic insult she turned her head back, eyes glaring dangerously her way. Erena meeped within her mind and dove for cover. She turned her body and began to slowly pad to where the other female was. Considering there was not that much distance between them it didn’t take much to reach her, she kept moving until she could nearly stand toe to toe with her. She was not as tall, or as heavy as her, but her air of personality was nearly suffocating as she spoke with low, snappy tones to the other female.
“No one shoved anything anywhere. Where you born yesterday? The world doesn’t run on niceness and fluffy introductions…and….friendship..” The world was spat out of her bill as though it were a poison word, as she stared at the other female. “I don’t need to vent to anyone, least of all a traveling stranger who for whatever reason decided to choose here to try to make it a home. I am ALWAYS this pleasant. So I recommend you find a nice den far away from mine, the canyon is a big place. I am sure I can avoid you after all, what good is a selective muted wolf anyway? You come in here and think you’re going to change anything when it takes hours of someone badgering you to get you to speak four sentences. So go jump off that cliff for all I care, or go find someone who is looking for a silent friend.” Snorting she turned to her side and began walking away from the other wolf, she wouldn’t offer her back to her to attack and make sure she could always keep her eyes on her. As she reached the water she stepped into it, and began to swim her way to the other bank, where she could easily shake off the moisture and head back up to a higher position to enjoy the rest of the night before sleeping off the next day’s afternoon. She’d had her fun for the night. [/scrolly]
