[Rache] Sight for the sightless

Been a prisoner was not as bad as Echo had thought it to be, well it was bad... but it wasn’t terrible. It just meant he had to wait on others and be obedient... similar to been back home. Been a pup meant you had to be obedient and submit. Nothing that he really had a problem with. Plus having his disability made it all the more easier, he wasn’t called on as much. Thankfull his mother was not dead as he had originally thought. Life was almost okay again, he was settling. Anyways this was nothing compared to what he had to go through when his mum died.

He sat absolutely still, his feelers twitching slightly. He was calm despite the rain that fell around him, creating a beautiful pattern in the pool next to him and filling the world with sounds on water could make. It was relaxing, and although he couldn’t see the rain allowed him to know exactly where everything was. The sounds echoed back to him giving him a good idea of the layout of the land around him. It was almost as if he could see.

The yellow and black pup did not like her pelt clinging to her thin frame and making her looked like and large drowned rat. No, the hybrid didn't like that at all. And for that reason she was in a bad mood. It was in this state that she came across one little prisoner. Her favorite prisoner to be exact. The cute multi colored blind Sennyo pup was just sitting there, begging to be torture. A sinister smile crept across Rache's maw. "Now what's such a pretty little thing like you doing sitting out in the rain," the young Mafia member practically purred as she prowled out from the under brush. Rache stalked around the edge of the pool over to Echo. " Did you loose your mommy again?" her high crystal laugh sounded cruelly through the plips of rain. It was a good thing that he was already blind, or else Rache might have had to claw out his eyes for seeing her in the state she was in. Rache let wet fur brush over wet fur, making sure to brush her face across his delicate wings and slap him with her tail as she passed by. "Did you miss me?"

If not for the sound he would be utterly blind. He snapped at her tail gently as she brushed past him, no need to hurt. It was a playful nip, he didn’t like fighting and so he wouldn’t contend with her games. He would simply be calm and try and have a normal conversation with her. Up close he could smell her damp smell, that and the voice reminded him it was the same wolf who taunted him when he was captured. ”Why are you so nasty hun?” He allowed his voice to be warm and soothing as he spoke, it would be fun to see her reaction. ”Truth be told I do not think we have met properly, I am Echo and you are?” He grinned at her, his ears perked and his antennae still twitching slightly.

Well that was fine, it would be all the more fun to make him submit to her that way. It was intriguing and infuriating that he never reacted the way she though he should. She was Mafia, born and raised. That alone should have had the Sennyo trembling in fear. But instead he sounded calm and... almost caring. Almost like her father. Yellow ears flicked in annoyance. No, not like her father at all. Her father had abandoned her, Echo was a prisoner, trapped and shackled. The smile on his face irked her to no end. That reminded her of Kit and Gemini, wherever they were. Probably with their father. She grinned, despite her bad mood and the fact that Echo couldn't see it. She was not lonely, not even remotely. Besides she had Data now and he would teach her all kinds of things. And if she ever yearned for someone her age she could always come pester Echo. Family, who needs them. "My name is Rache, and I am never nasty. You just never learned how to play right," She sniffed dramatically, "Though you seem to be getting the hang of it." He was quite smart, for a non Mafia wolf.

Quite possible the Mafia pups had different games in comparison with those from the Alliance but that didn’t mean playing was any different. Then again he was rarely played with... probably the lack of sight or something like that. He hadn’t thought much of it until now, he had never felt the need to go romping with other wolves. “Oh really? He asked grinning and standing up. He walked towards her and brushed against her shoulder just as she had brushed against him. The wet fur making a squishy sound as it touched. He then nipped her ear and retreated, and laughed. “Two for me none for you” He said tauntingly, ready to dart away from her the moment he heard her steps on the damp ground.

Rache was beginning to realize that just because he was blind it didn't make the pup helpless. In fact it made him more intriguing. Though she still thought it would be fun to rip off his pretty little wings, he was more entertaining this way. A wolf she couldn't predict. Brown eyes considered him for a moment. The ground was wet and slippery, plus Echo was blind in an environment he wasn't familiar with. There was no way the boy could out run her. Though she detested getting herself dirty she couldn't very well let him get away with getting the jump on her twice. Where was the dignity in that. Rache had her pride and she was not going to be bested by some prisoner. The yellow pup lurched forward, aiming to nip the boy's rump. Not hard enough to draw blood like she would have with her siblings. He might stop playing with her if she actually hurt her. And while causing him to shriek in pain would be fun, it wasn't what she wanted right now. "Know your place!" She cackled, splashing a black paw into a puddle. Mud squished under foot most disgustingly. With a look of distaste she remove her paw from the icky water and flung the gloppy substance at Echo. "Nothing more than dirt under my paw I'd say!"

She nipped him on the rump and so he stopped in mid-flee and turned to face her. A grin spread across his maw, he hadn’t had this much fun in ages. Despite rumours maybe the Mafia was a good place to be... but Phoenix wouldn’t be too happy with him staying here, after all she had done for him it wouldn’t be fair. The splash sent Echo darting to the side once more as he had expected Rache to lunge after him again and before he could realise that it had been a trick he was hit with the glomp. The glomp itself gave him a fright and he yelped, shaking his head, not knowing what it was. Once the earthy smell penetrated his nostrils he gaze one more shake and grinned at her like nothing had happened. Half of his face was now a muddy-brown and as the rain was beginning to stop it seemed it was going to stay that way. He sat down, and looked at where he thought she was, “I have never played before” he said suddenly becoming serious. “Thank you”

Once the Sennyo figure out it was just mud he went back to grinning, which made Rache's smile grow wider. The rain was stopping, she was playing again and the small ball of hurt she hadn't known she had lessened it's grip on her heart. All that would make the day complete would be to render a small rodent limb from limb. "Never played?!" She said astounded. "How can you have never played? Don't you have family or something. Siblings, someone your age?" How can someone have never played? Even when she didn't have her sibling around she played with animals. And then there was Daedalus, he had all kinds of cool things to show her. "I mean you live in a pack, there must be someone even if they are elderly," She shook out the rain from her coat making it poof some. Well at least she didn't look like a drowned rat anymore. "Not that it matters, you will just have to suffer as my playmate I guess," she sighed loudly as if he were an inconvenience.

Well it was simple, the first part of his life he had been a slave even though he could barely walk and the second part he was treated as if he were glass because he couldn’t see. It was fairly simple really but he wasn’t going to tell her that. After all she was his captor. Suddenly his mood dimmed, he missed his mother. His real mother. The Sennyo with the soft fur and wonderful smell, who loved him even though he killed her. He forced himself to smile once more, even though the grief still seemed to shine through the misted eyes. ”Well im sure i will be able to live through that!” he said just as loudly, grinning at her and sitting down. He was hungry, not much food for prisoners of course but he wouldn’t let it on. ”So why aint you with your own siblings or whatever? Im just a prisoner, slave, useless entity... Why bother with me?” he asked it with genuine curiousity.

Where had they gone? Rache wanted to cry out in frustration, at the injustice off it all. How could the abandon her. She stomped her paw to relieve the frustration. She could really go for listening to the dieing screams of a poisoned jackalope. She wanted to make something feel as bad as she did at the moment. "I do what I please," she quipped sharply. " Listen pretty boy, your mine, got that? That means I can do whatever I wish with you." He wasn't really hers, but in her mind he was. And her authority was the highest. Unless of course Scorch or Data came along... or any of the adults really, but that was a minor detail. "If you really must know though, they are gone. I do not know where they have gone, nor do I care!"

The feeling of unbelievable loss and hurt, of abandonment and blame. As if lost in a sea of darkness, not knowing anything and unable to see a way out of the situation. He went to sit next to her for a bit, offering her his only way of comfort. He didn’t know what to say in all honesty. ”My father left me after my mother died... it sucks” he said simply, his antennae drooping along with his feather-light wings. He stood up and did his best to smile at her before disappearing into the jungle quietly. ”I will see you some other time maybe” He said gently as he left. He would come searching for her a bit later. He words had sparked up a series of his own thoughts, terrible thoughts.

She didn't look at him and she didn't say anything either. Tears had gathered in her eyes and were streaking down her cheeks. Rache was glad that Echo couldn't see her. Wet, crying, and mud covered paws. She was atrocious. "Your father is not worth your time then," She said. Anyone who left wasn't worth the time of day,"You are better off without him." And she truly believed that she was better off without her family. She was better off without anyone who could cause her this much pain. Cause her to do such a shameful thing as cry. Her chest and heart hurt so bad that she didn't even try and stop Echo from leaving her. Faintly, she wondered why he was aloud to roam free. Maybe they thought a blind pup wouldn't get far, who knew. It didn't matter, when she wanted him, she would go get him. Right now she would swallow down the bad feelings that had welled up. Maybe Data would know a good way to dry her pelt, or have a new lesson for her. Blinking the remaining tears out of her eyes she headed in the opposite direction of Echo, off to her mentor, who didn't cause her to care. (Thread End)
