Cozy deep within her hollow tree den the parrot myou slept with silent tranquility, rhythmic breathing flowing in and out of her lungs as she rested from her great journey into the north. The den she had found was nested high in the tree and far above any dangerous land predators. With due diligence she had coated the interior with a bed of pine needles and layered it with the pelt of a jackalop she had gone through much trouble to catch and was pleased to note the branch that sheltered the circular entrance was thick enough to camouflage her new home. Thick and brightly covered feathers covered the wolf's light body, long tail feathers wrapping around the small female like a protective blanket. If it had been possible the little bird myou would have stayed safe in her shelter through the whole winter, but as it were she was not a bear and did not have the knowledge how to hibernate.
Of course there was more to the matter, the tiny female was a socialite of disturbing proportions and almost fed off interactions with other wolves. The sun had been up several hours now and the land was considerably warmer than the early morning hours, the heat of the rays on the door to her den waking her slowly from her deep slumber. Uncurling she walked groggily out onto the branch that grew directly outside her den, stretching leisurely in the light she blinked her gem colored aqua eyes rapidly to get used to the light. From her perch she could see the mountains towering strong and rough in the distance and the soft valley below the Taiga. What she could not see was any prey, an her stomach rumbled in complaint.
Often times hunting took most of her energy, her only method by flight and if she was lucky enough to catch one her sharp bird talons could pierce flesh easily. It was the catching that was difficult and as she sat on her perch Citrine decided this would be a long morning and an even longer winter. Stretching her wings wide she took a dainty leap and flapped her wings in the brisk air, taking flight into the bright sky.
Her pace was leisurely, she knew she would be at this for the rest of the morning and she had been putting off the activity. The wind whipped at her bright plumage, trying to toss the light bird myou about but Citrine simply glided along the strong current, now accustomed to its strength. Spotting brisk movement in the grass below her she dipped to get a better view, eyes spotting a jackalope nearby. Such a pesky creature, sighed Citrine, always prone to lashing out with its horn and trying to damage her perfectly up kept fur.
Increasing her speed she flew closer to the ground, tracking the fleeing animal as it bounded across the ground towards the woods. It would be no good if the creature succeeding in attaining the security of the forest for Citrine movements would be greatly restricted and she would have to give up the hunt. Flapping harder she soared through the air, a colorful bullet in the bleak light of day as she strained to inch ahead. But she would be too late, the animal was already piercing the forest edge! She could not loose this prey, her body ached for food, and she could not accept defeat. Throwing herself at a tree she used her taloned paws to push off, jumping from tree to tree she soon cornered the jackalop and taking a plunge she made the short dive, landing claws extended on its back.
Purring in satisfaction she sliced its jugular and let it bleed for a bit before claiming her meal. She did not like the mess the blood would make on her fur and for this she always waited for the bleeding to abate. Delicious flesh met her pointy little fangs as she savored her catch and Citrine made careful attention to not damage the pelt too much for she would be bringing it to her den to create added lining. Once finished her meal she extracted the pelt from the rest of the carcass using her talons to skin it. Walking a bit she exited the forest and took off back into the skies to return home where she proceeded to gracefully land on her favored branch and hang the pelt up to dry in the sun. Pleased with herself she curled up on the branch to make sure no one came to steal her prize.

Draco had returned from the mountains only a few hours ago and he was downright exausted and just wanted to go to his den and sleep. But he knew he couldn't he had to notify the Drott that he was back then search for Drakon. He had to find her, to apologize for what he had done. Maybe then she would accept him. But so far he hadn't seen her nor caught the scent of her, so he figured that she must be at the female home tree. Taking a bit of a detour he picked up his pace toward the great tree.
When he came in sight of it he slid his tongue out trying to taste her scent but it was obvious she wasn't here either. But he decided to peek his head in and look but he knew he wouldn't find her there. Assuming she must have let the pack and him he backed up from the den and sat with a huff against a nearby try. Forcing back tears he turned and raked his insanely long claws against the tree, leaving four deep gashes in the bark, gashes only he could make. But then he noticed something bright and colourful move up in the tree.
Then a scent came to him one he hadn't noticed before when he was so intent on finding Drake's that he must have skipped it. But this scent was oddly familiar, he never forgot a scent but this one changed slightly and now had pack scent. Looking up once again he immediately knew that it was the parrot myou he had chased away from the home tree not a few months ago. Now she carried pack scent so probably joined the pack when he was not here. Sighing, he knew he must apologize to her for what he did awhile back. He didn't want any females hating him here. But just incase she was sleeping he decided to wait and maybe rest himself, she would realize he was there soon enough. Lowering himself down to the ground he closed his eyes to take a nap.

Her peaceful rest in the pale sun of the almost wintry day was but a light slumber as one eye was kept partially open to watch for burglars that might come take her catch. Citrine was hell bent on creating a soft and well insulated den before winter struck full force and she had put a lot of effort into catching the two pelts she now had. A series of sounds below her caught her attention through her sun tanning, but this did not alert her for females were always coming and going at all hours of the day. Citrine had not bothered to pay attention to any of them, she was quite concerned with preparing for the cold and surviving the blistering frost that would come any day and not dissipate with the day's light.
However, when the sound of claws being dragged through coarse bark reached her wide ears she had to face the fact that no female would be doing such an un-lady like behavior and opened her eyes to stare at a familiar shape. The other large reptile looking myou had not only been the last soul she had seen before realizing her old pack members had left but also the one that had given her such a bad taste for the Enclave. Granted she had been trespassing, but the brute mannerisms had easily ruffled her delicate feathers leaving a flustered Citrine to leave back for home, wander without direction and discover she had been left alone in the world.
Defeated and thoroughly fearing for her survival she had been forced to return and face the curse pack only to be welcomed by the warm and gracious Nautic and greeted appropriately by the most dangerous looking of breeds; the yagi Alpha. That ha all been well and fine, and in fact Citrine had enjoyed the lavish attention thoroughly. The she-wolf had just turned 2 years of age and was finally considered mature, however she had yet to come to terms with the odd fluttering feeling in her stomach when she was around Nautic.
She watched through half closed eyes as the beast of a myou sat down by the tree, almost groaning, what was he waiting for? Fearing a confrontation would become necessary she slowly uncurled to peer down at the male. She was now part of the pack and he could not harm her without repercussions, so in all logical sense she could be safe to flutter down. Fluttering from branch to branch she may a dainty decline of the tree finally coming to rest on solid ground. Giving the large male and piercing stare she said promptly, "Why do you sit by our tree? This is the female's den place, not the males." Sniffing indignantly she refused to be cowered by his rough appearance, she was part of the pack now and this was the female's safe haven after all.

The large lyxxus strode through the female housing with pride. He came baring gifts, another plump and juicy jackelope clenched between his strong jaws. He wanted to show he cared for someone, but who should he give it to? Ariana had been long gone from his eyes for awhile and drakon just as much. Maybe he should stop by and help Citrine settle in? She was still fairly new to the pack and chances were she was still preparing for the winter to come. Nautic had plenty of skins so he didn't mind sharing with such a beautiful myou.
Yeah, she seems like a lovely babe... maybe... we... us...
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of her wavering tone. Who was she speaking with? Had she seen him beforehand? When the lyxxus turned the corner, however, he noticed another male he had not seen nor met before. This unnerved him so. Of course, it was probably not unncommon for the other males to try and court such a lovely dove. Though something about this wolf rubbed him the wrong way.
Who was he? And better yet, where did Nautic know him from? No, he had never met this wolf himself but something about his was disgustingly familiar. The large lyxxus continued to hold his head and tails high in a friendly mannerism as he sat a foot or so from the two, dropping the jackelope at his feet.
"Is there a problem Citrine?" he glanced quickly at the male and softly smiled back at the bird myou, cocking his head curiously to one side as he pushed the jackelope closer to the female. He cleared his throat before continuing "Uhm. I brought this... for you. Figured you could use a couple more pelts for your den before winter finally hit.." he tried to hold back a blush. He had to show strength in front of the other male. Nautic, after all, wanted to make a good impression on the lady.

Draco opened his eyes when he heard the females voice close to his ear to find her now standing in front of him. Slowly sitting up so as not to scare the little female with his size or strength, he surveyed her with bright eyes. She was pretty, no gorgeous, no doubt about it. With brightly coloured wings and sparkling blue eyes she was a sight for the sore eyes. And for a moment Drake was pushed to the back of his mind to be replaced with this lovely parrot myou. Shaking his head mentally, he remembered the females question. "I-I was looking for someone but it appears she is gone and well I came over here and I noticed you up in the tree and I recognized you from last time so I came to apologize, and well names Draco." he dipped his head slightly to her, but before he could say anything else a scent so familiar hit him in the face.
He slid his long black tongue out to confirm it. The approaching male was the one, the one who had gotten Drakon pregnant, the one who had taken her away from him now. Swallowing a laugh-like snarl as the male cam closer to reveal him as a lyxxus who he would easily take down as soon as this meeting was over. But he could help but snort at being completly ignored by him as he sucked up to this female. How dare he? If he does this to every female how many has he gotten pregnant and left them for someone else? His mind raged, his red eyes blazing, long claws digging in the dirt. Clearing his throat to get the attention of the male to him instead of the myou he spoke, though not unkindly but with a bit of an edge. "Draco's the name mate, haven't seen you around here, who might you be?" his tone made it clear that he was ticked off at being ignored and hoped the male would notice it;

Apologize? Surprise hit her young face, the snarly brute she had believed this male to be was apologizing? Taking a step back she looked at Draco differently, he didn't sound as brutish as last time, was this a trick? Confusing marred her face as small wrinkles appeared along her muzzle, so what was the proper thing to do now? Tousling her wings she narrowed her eyes in suspicion, the right thing to do would be accept the apology with good grace and as the little wolf was not one inclined to hold grudges she decided this would be an acceptable course of action. Tossing her bright mane of feathers she said in her dainty voice, "Oh, well I suppose apology accepted, sorry to hear your friend is not here, perhaps I could pass along a message when she comes back? My name is Citrine."
She flashed the large wolf a small smile of forgiveness, amends made and the problem at hand sorted in her youthful mind. The the familiar scent of the one whom had been so gracious to her greeted her nose and she turned around in one fluid movement, a bright smile of welcome on her maw. Nautic, the one she had christened a knight for what the she-wolf had considered chivalrous mannerisms. "No problem at all Nautic, it is very good to see you again." A shyness had almost crept into her voice that was opposite to the stronger confident tone she had used with Draco. Of course the female could not know the history of the lyxxus, nor could she have realized the effect of his actions for the myou Draco and therefore she remained complete oblivious to the tension. Focused on the object of her attention she practically beamed when he presented her a gift.
She tried to airily reply but it was plain to see she was quite pleased with the gift, "Thank you dear, you did not need to go through the trouble for me. All the same it shall be perfect for my den." Eyes shining she moved forward to lightly pick up the jackalop, the animal seeming to pronounce her smaller build. As she raised her head her eyes sought out Nautic's, a grateful look in them. Too young to be aware of the intricacies between males and females she was only conscious that her heart would flutter in his presence.
Draco's odd response struck the myou as weird, but she could not place her paw on what was out of place. Looking more closely at him she noted his strong build, powerful there was no doubt he could fight, odd tongue that was intriguing and rugged thick voice. With this glance she came to realize that the fellow was not all that unappealing as she had thought, just rough at a first glance. Her scrutiny was a soft and curious one, vivid eyes noting each detail diligently from his long claws to his shorter snout to his unusual eyes. In fact if she could have chosen an opposite of Nautic, Draco would have suited the position. And that was when the odd realization hit her, there were certainly flutters in her stomach when she looked at the large brute, but it was a slower and most leisurely flutter that increased the longer she stared.
Taken aback she wondered how she could be possibly interested in such a male, evidently Nautic was much more suitable with his almost feline grace, gentleman manners and caring disposition. And the male myou appeared to be a reptile one, the complete predator to her bird second soul, so where did this feeling come from? Blushing lightly she turned her head away and moved closer to the handsome and sleek lyxxus, attempting to brush off the unusual reaction. She gave his soft shoulder a small nuzzle of her nose in greeting before sitting down. It was all too confusing for the poor she-wolf's second soul and she gave a small cooing sound of confusement.

The lyxxus swiveled around to glance at the other male myou across from Citrine. Again, the off setting feeling that they held something similar picked at his brain. His ears twitched slightly And before he knew what to say or could respond he had a merry Citrine nuzzling and loving on him so. He held back a chuckle as he locked eyes with her. They held such beauty. He just wanted to be closer than ever now. His old ways forcing to take over once more. The lyxxus' body heating up with her contact to him as he felt a purr rise in his chest.
Nautic nearly forgot Draco was there. "Sorry, I do not believe we have met. I am Nautical Rausting, also a Hauld of the Enclave." he stood proudly, puffing out his chest. Just as soon as eh had addressed Draco however, he returned attention to the female present. "Oh I am quite satisfied you enjoy it, my love. Do not worry, it was not as much trouble as you imply..." his smooth words rolling from his tongue like silk. His eight tails began to wag in all directions possible. Maybe she could be the one? She may be a bit young in others eyes for the lyxxus, but he felt at loss with the absence of Ariana and Drakon. What else was he to do.... move on.
If it were not for the other male, Nautic may have even asked the question. It seemed a bit blunt or even straight forward but he felt the parrot myou was just as eager to feel him against her own scent. If he was nice enough about the question would she accept his proposal? Could he, if they were alone, ask her to mate with him? Nautic had to remember the other myou was still here however, he cursed to himself as he glared his periwinkle gaze at the other male... quickly returning it to a smirk. He wouldn't let the other wolf phase him, not now. Right now all that mattered to him was Citrine and her alone.

Draco smiled happily at Citrine, glad that she forgave him. Citrine....what a lovely name he thought to himself. But his happiness quickly disappeared to be replaced with mounting anger as the lyxxus spoke once more introducing himself as Nautical Rausting but just as quickly snapped his attention back to Citrine. He couldn't take it anymore, determined to get the males attention away from the rainbow female who was now sitting close to him and nuzzling his shoulder. But he refused to let it bother him, no female could ever like a male like that and besides there were no mates in this pack and if one wanted a female they were supposed to fight if there were two males interested and Draco knew he would win.
Taking a step toward the lyxxus lowering his head so that he was level with him he slid out his tongue to taste his scent once more reassuring him that this was the one, the one who had taken what he had wanted away from him. The long, black, forked tongue so close to the lyxxus's face it almost touched. Baring his teeth in a way that sorta looked like a smile but anyone who saw would know it wasn't, showing the shark like teeth in the back in order to intimidate the male before whispering in his ear. "I know youre the one, don't even think about denying it. You took her away from me and now I kill you but not until I've taken something from you." He glanced back at Citrine, he knew they both wanted her, and it was not an empty threat, he was determined to hurt this male in any possible way and taking the thing he wanted was the perfect way to do it.
Backing up then turning to Citrine smiling kindly his eyes bright and happy even though he was anything but. Hoping to continue their previous conversation before that lyxxus so rudely interupted"Citrine, what a lovely name. It's been a pleasure to meet you. I do hope you'll walk with me sometime, Id very much like that. And if you need anything, anything at all just ask and Ill try my hardest to please you." reaching over to give her a nuzzle on forehead before searching the ground for a flower and he gladly found one, a gorgeous white one with a yellow center snipping it with his claws before presenting it to her. "For your den, my sweet."

ooc: So Crow, shall Citrine and Nautic have a thread after this one? I could try and start it up tomorrow if you'd like. As for Phoe I think it would be cool if Citrine and Draco had one after the planner mating with Nautic for plot purposes, it would be neat to do so when she is pregnant. And for anyone else reading this, Citrine could certainly use a female friend to shed some light on the situation. What do you guys think?
Eyes wide, Citrine observed the odd play between the males, unable to decipher what exactly was transpiring. She did know she could feel heat seep into her body like none other she had felt, the odd feeling a strange mixture of elation, joy, confusion and though she did not know it, attraction on another level. Terse as she was she kept by the lyxxus' side, unsure what she should feel about the larger myou brute. The aura of restrained strength and rugged power was oddly enticing and she licked her maw absent mindedly as she watched.
She huddled closer to Nautic, ore out of fear from her own emotions as she clung to the familiar. Her heart beat furiously when Draco nudge her, and his scent, more earthly then the lyxxus and yet none the less pleasant filled her lungs. Heat crept into her cheeks creating a small flushed glow in her embarrassment, where was her head? The myou words seeped through the heavy fog and a small leap of hope lit in her mind. Swallowing Citrine realized she was still staring, mouth partially agape in her confusion. Chirping in her embarrassment she give her head a small shake before replying.
"And the same can be said to you Draco. I should enjoy a walk, do come calling whenever you might have a moment to spare. I should like that..." The small flower he handed her was simplistic in design but beautiful in that it fit into the land with perfect harmony, tiny frail petals defying the fierce forces that shaped the land. A quick and grateful smile flitted across her maw and she stretch up to give the male a quick lick on the side of his maw, a parting kiss of thanks.
Picking the flower up in her teeth she flew into the air, wings rippling in the breeze and landed on her perch to deposit her treasure in the safety of her den. Smiling at the little gift she turned tail and landed back by the lyxxus, happy to once again be in his presence. Giving him a soft nudge of her body she said, "Do you have a few moments to spare sir Knight Nautic?" She gave a crystalline giggle, he did so fit the picture of a knight in her mind, "A lady might enjoy your presence a bit longer." Her invitation was that he stay a bit, she did indeed intend to know more about the charming male.
