[atrb=width,200][bg=151B54] The Keepers | [bg=FAF8CC]The Keepers are the kings of the pack. They are the keepers of keys what they say goes. It is they who is most respected. Their word is law and anyone that goes against it and disobey's will be severly punished and if not killed or exiled out of the pack, will get a one way ticket to Slave. The Keepers are strictly Mortui, they are at the top because of their indestructible nature. There are usually only two Keepers, a Keeper and his mate. But in a rare situation there may be three if he is still deciding on his mate and who will bear his pups. The eldest male Scion will take the rank of Keeper once his parents retire and leave the pack. The Keepers are the only ones that the Pharaoh answer to and no one else. |
[atrb=width,200][bg=151B54] The Scion(s) | [bg=ECE5B6]The Scion or Scions are the heirs of the Keepers and when older hold a great deal of power and influence in the Order. The eldest male of the heirs will be chosen as the next Keeper any others will remain as Scions. The Scions have no role really in the pack and are only high up because of their honoured bloodline so will just simply bask in the fame and power that comes with their title. |
[bg=151B54] Pharaoh | [bg=FAF8CC]The Pharaoh is the leader of the Order of the Ibis, the Alpha. It is he or she that makes sure the pack is running smoothly. Male or female, the Pharaoh commands all and answers only to the Keepers. The Pharaoh is able to accept new members and give ranks swell as acts as an advisor to the the Keepers. Rights to the throne are determined through a combination of birthright and species. Pharaohs can be any species as long as they suit the standards of the Keepers. |
[bg=151B54] Vizier | [bg=ECE5B6]The Vizier serves as the adviser to the Pharaoh. He or she is very open to the Keepers and will often report to them should the Pharaoh be unable to fulfill a duty or is led astray on a decision. The Vizier also handles all concerns that may not require the Pharaoh's immediate attention. The Vizier will also fill in for the Pharaoh should he or she be away at the time. This rank can be claimed by a strong, intelligent species. |
[bg=151B54] Nobles | [bg=FAF8CC]The rank of Noble is earned through blood. Anyone of direct or indirect relation to the Pharaoh is immediately classed as a Noble regardless of skill. Parents, siblings, children, and even uncles and cousins can earn this rank if they can to prove their bloodline. A Noble can also take the place of Pharaoh and it is from the Nobles that the Keepers usually select the next Pharaoh from. |
[bg=151B54] High Priests | [bg=ECE5B6]High Priests are the recorders of history and are very intelligent, many look to the High Priest if they seek answers. They hold all the ceremonies along with the Pharaoh and Vizier. They are also the healers of the pack, it is said that they receive guidance from the Holy Spirit to learn the herbs. They train the Priests in the ways of healing the sick and wounded along with history. If the Pharaoh and Vizier are unavailable, the Order not only turns to them for healing and reassurance but for guidance too. The rank of High Priest can only be given to a long lived species who has been granted the power of Healing and Knowledge by the Great Spirit. |
[bg=151B54] Priests | [bg=FAF8CC]Learners, teachers, and healers of the pack, Priests are the apprentices of the High Priest and work very closely under his/her guidance. It is their job to take care of the injured and sick, healing minor injuries and sickness. They will also educate members in the ways of herbs and healing. Because the position requires a good deal of knowledge, Priests are restricted to long lived species such as Lumen or Sennyo. But this rank can also be gained by someone with vast knowledge or healing, but it'll have to be proved first. |
[bg=151B54] Scribes | [bg=ECE5B6]Scribes are one of the most highly educated wolves right behind the High Priest and Priests. They are the recorders of history of the pack, of other packs and of the land. They also document the healing herbs the Priests use. Scribes work closely with the Priests to record these herbs and how to use them. Their knowledge and talent earns them a great deal of respect from the wolves of the Order. Talented Long-lived species can get this rank. |
[bg=151B54] Soldiers | [bg=FAF8CC]Soldiers are a large group of physically powerful and trained wolves. They are the Order's line of defence. They must prove themselves worthy of the honour of fighting for the pack and they must be willing to lay down their lives for the protection of the pack. Guards are directly under the Vizier's control and are trained regularly. Sometimes a skilled Soldier will be chosen to accompany the Pharaoh or Vizier on a trip outside the pack's land. Soldiers can only be claimed by a species of brute strength. |
[bg=151B54] Craftsmen | [bg=ECE5B6]Craftsmen are quite a large group of wolves. There are many jobs within this rank and all require intelligence and skill. The wolves in this rank take turns between jobs, working out a rotation schedule. These jobs are: Teaching, Tracking and the most skilled of them, the Architects. The Craftsmen also watch over and teach the Peasants in the ways of the Order, if anyone shows skill in any one section, the Craftsmen will report to the Pharaoh and have them promoted. The next is the Trackers chosen for their skills and agility, being among the Order's quickest runners, they scout along the border marking the points where the sand pits shall be dug by the Slaves. The last are the Architects, skilled with their claws and with great intelligence. They design all the monuments of the Order, and survey the building projects. Craftsmen can be a wide variety of species if approved by the Pharaoh. |
[bg=151B54] Guards | [bg=FAF8CC]Guards are like the Soldiers of the pack except that they don't just fight. They train with the Soldiers to master their fighting skills but most of the time they supervise the slaves in building the temples, digging pits or any other task. The Guards must be physically powerful for they must Guard the pack day and night as well as punish any slaves that are out of line. The Vizier creates a monthly rotation list for watch duty that must be followed by the Guards. |
[bg=151B54] Peasants | [bg=ECE5B6]Peasants are the unskilled newcomers to the pack. They are the ones who have yet to learn all of the packs secrets and rules. To keep them busy and doing something useful, the Craftsmen have them assist in many areas to demonstrate their talents. They will spend their time with different ranks as part of their training and when not busy may hunt or assist the Slaves and Labourers in building projects or tasks. Should a Peasant take interest in a higher rank, they must first talk to a Craftsman who, if they have proved to be exceptional in that area, will then report to the Pharaoh and have them promoted. If a female has pups she will be placed as a Peasant for the time being then after the pups are old enough be moved back to her former rank, the pups will stay Peasants until skills are proved. However if one wishes to stay a Peasant they will have to earn their keep by hunting, fighting, patrolling and building, if they do that there is no problem with remaining a Peasant. |
[bg=151B54] Labourers | [bg=FAF8CC]Labourers are the hard workers of the pack, the do a variety of jobs from monument building, pit digging, hunting and making a special berry dye for the ranking wolves. The Vizier will also create a rotation list for them, so that they are doing something every minute of the day. They get more breaks than the Slaves and aren't treated as harshly but are still disrespected. If a Labourer is lucky one of the Keepers or Pharaoh may call upon one to be their slave and if they exceed at this, they will be promoted to Peasant. |
[bg=151B54] Slaves | [bg=ECE5B6]Slaves are at the bottom of the pyramid. They are the shamed, the weak, the dishonoured, the traitors, and those who have found themselves unjustly punished. They are the treated like scum, looked down upon with disgust and cruelty by the members of the Order. They are forced to work every second of the day with few breaks in between. They have three jobs, their work schedule is also worked out by the Vizier for they are not allowed to pick the job they want for some are easier than others. They build the the temples, create the trap pits around the territory and tend to the needs of the high ranking members of the pack. They may be things like: cleaning their bedding, fetching food and water…etc. They are watched very closely by the Guards, one step out of line and they will be punished severely. There are many ways to become a slave. The first is if a wolf is unfortunately born into a species the Keepers deem weak, such as lyxxus. Any wolf caught disrespecting higher ranking members or acts against the Pharaoh will earn a one-way ticket to slave, or in the worst case, put to death or exiled. |

The Mirage
Hidden deep within the sands lies a startling paradise, a hint of salvation in a land of dry heat. Lush, green vegetation springs up from the sands, palm trees, and many tropical plants reside here, providing shade and comfort to those who seek it. Some of the Order's special berries are found here too. These berries are sacred to the pack, Labourers/Slaves are sent daily to check up on the plants and care for them then harvest the purple and red berries. Surrounded by the plant life is a wide, deep lake, cool waters bubbling from beneath the surface and made tepid by sweltering sun. At first thought to be a delusion, a trick of the heat, this luscious oasis is a heaven in a barren hell. The entrance to the Underground Palace can be found within the foliage but can be reletively hard to find unless you are part of the pack.
Osiris' Palace
Beneath the surface of the Mirage lies a complex network of winding caverns and tunnels. These caverns are large and spacely and their insides sparkle with quartz lined walls, lighting dim to nonexistent deeper underground. Compared to the surface, the Underground Palace remains at a comfortably cool temperature regardless of time of day. The caverns of the Keepers and Scions are located further back in the tunnels and are quite large to and to suit the their needs. There is a tiny hole in the ceiling which allows some light to shine through and when it does rain creates a pool of water in a dip in the cave floor. There is also a seperate exit so that they may leave as they please.
Tower of Naos
In the Order of the Ibis no one is left without something to do. Those lacking duties are commanded to build, however it is very rare for anyone besides the Slaves and Labourers. Here a large tower of stone sits surrounded by large rocks and stones along with a large piece of flat open ground. Here is where all the temples and tombs are built. These temples are not for denning purposes, and anyone found denning within will be exiled for the temples are sacred to the pack. On the stone the packs history and future are written. It is also inside that the packs ceremonies and meetings will be held. A large mass of Craftsmen and Slaves/Labourers come in and out everyday. A large construction site of sand and stone it is and if left unsupervised all the dangers of the construction site apply and with results in fatal injury or if any mistakes are made those who were there at the time are to be punished harshly by the Guards.
Valley of Ra
While uneven dunes make up most of of the land, there is a large expanse of rather flat sands known as the Valley of the Gods. This even terrain is very open with no cover whatsoever, making it susceptible to predator attacks. It is located on the border and surrounded the border lay hidden pits covered by leaves then sand appearing like the rest of the land until stepped on. These pits are very deep and cannot be climbed out of or jumped out of, if alone one can be trapped in one of the pits for hours and risks starvation, dehydration and even death if not found by a member of the Order. These holes surround the entire border; made by the slaves, only the members of the pack know the way out and in without trouble.
Sun-kissed Dunes
Most of the Hotali Desert is made of ever-changing dunes, which follow the Valley. The topography of the sands rarely remains constant, the finite grains easily tossed and shaped by the winds. Those unfamiliar with the land are subject to hours spent wandering in the dangerous heat. Even those who know the land best often have trouble with navigation, which is why the there are specially shaped rock markers which show the right way in and out and around the territory which can only be identified by those of the pack. Also located on these dunes are a few randomly placed cacti which offer as a water source to those who know how to collect it. The Slaves and Labourers can be seen harvesting their water from across the dunes.
Territory name suggestions will be taken into consideration, So if you have better name, just let me know!
