Cold. It's Winter, idiot, a thought rushed into her brain as her teeth chattered. She stepped lightly, her mostly white pelt disappearing in the white snow. Why does it seem that it's warmer in the water? Aur's gold gaze scanned the horizon for shelter, something that this area looked to be lacking. No water, either.
It was quiet, a little too quiet. Not that Aur was sad about that, she was usually alone. Besides, it would be bad news if a wolf appeared seeing as she wasn't one of the Children, the supposed pack that resides in these lands. But if they caught her, what would be her reasoning? She knew there were safety in numbers, but Aur still couldn't seem to get the fact of what her former pack had done.
Mikao. They killed him. Her true love, her one and only. A wet tear slipped down her maw as the scene replayed in her mind. . . "That'll teach 'em," she heard the harsh words of her former leader. She followed his gaze to Mikao, his form lying on the dirt, not moving, with covered in blood from his wounds. Mikao? Aureia thought. No, no! Don't leave me! Tears swelled in her eyes for a second time of the day.
The veil upon her eyes faded, and once again she was within the Children's lands. She sighed, and attempted to calm her body's cold tremors. Damn! Why must it be so cold? Walking further, she saw a tree. It's bark was dark and old, while it's leaves were nonexistent. Slowly, as if to preserve the last bit of her warmth as she could, she hid herself behind the tree, hoping it could block the snowy winds. She sat her flank in the snow clumped up behind the tree, before using her blue paw to shift the snow away from the green grass below it.

Brightness Darkly decided that he hated the cold. He hated the chilly wind, the snowflakes that littered the ground and most of all he hated how he was always shivering. One would think with the sheer mass that he was with his thick fur and feathers it wouldn't bother him, but it did. It bothered him immensely. Brightness had never had a winter outside the jungle, where the coldest it would get would be a slight chilling rain. Here, oh here the rain froze and drifted down and stayed there, piling up until there was no escaping it's chilly trap.
Which was why the large golden hybrid was up a tree at that moment. Avoiding walking through the snow and or running into Kaly. No he wasn't ready to face her or the wicked snow at the moment. Bri heaved a heavy sigh and tucked his wings in closer. Blue eyes wondered before a small dash of yellow and blue situated below the tree caught them. A wolf! A lupus? Well whatever she was she didn't smell like the Children. Brightness hesitated, he didn't really have the right to confront the loner, after all he wasn't even truly a member of the pack. And she looked just as cold as he did. Great, a difficult moral choice.
"Hello, excuse me," Bri called down, he wanted to get her attention before he swooped down. The golden male was aware that his size and numerous scars could be some what intimidating. That said, he snapped open his wings and drifted down landing a few feet off from the loner.
"Your not from around here right?" he asked not daring to get closer.

A small silvery lupus stalked through the snow, he shoulders hunched and her expression gloomy. Her hunt had been unsuccessful, and Lupa was hungry and cold and not in the mood to be bothered. She never was in the mood to be bothered, but chances were that the next wolf to come across her would get a harsh rebuke. Her purple eyes were narrowed as she looked around, her ears flat against her skull. She didn't see anything, but her nose was telling her something different. She began to jog, an annoyed look on her face. She had planned to get back to Tauxic and Coneiron, but she supposed she had better check it out. Sighing, Lupa made her way across the barren terrain.
She shivered as she plowed through a large snowdrift. Oh, what she would do to have a nice, long, thick, cozy coat. The dismal day matched Lupa's mood quite nicely, though she was not cheered in the slightest by this thought. Her mind wandered to her cozy den, with it's many fur pelts and familiar scent. But no, she was out here in the snow, cold and hungry. A dark scowl was on Lupa's face when she finally reached the place where the wolves resided. Though she had hoped to find shelter and the wolves, it seemed as though they were huddled by an old, dead tree. Of course, they had to find one of the most plain places in the Children to be. Lupa ground her teeth, today was really not her day.
The silver and purple lupus let out a gruff bark to tell the others she was there. Her narrowed orbs scanned the wolves, and she raised a brow. One was obviously a lupus, or a cael, but the other one she couldn't place. The wolf was huge, and a golden color, while the female was mostly white, with some other colors. The scent of the male identified him as a member of the Children, and she gave him a brisk nod. "Hello." She turned back to the stranger, and looked her up and down. The wolf didn't seem to be very threatening, but looks could be deceiving. "Hello, stranger. State your business, please." Her tone was rough, though not mean. If this was a wolf looking to join, it would be best to treat them kindly.
Lupa's eyes shifted over to the huge male. "I'm Lupa, Hunter for the Children. And who might you be?" Her tone was warmer to the male, but she still had a air of annoyance around her. Lupa doubted anything could change her mood, for her day had not been going well. And with her luck, she guessed her day would not be getting any better any time soon.
OOC: Eh. This really didn't turn out how I wanted it to be. Whatever.

Aur jumped, shocked as the sound of another touched her ears. She whirled, looking around. Nothing. I must be hallucinating. They always said, a broken heart leads to broken things. She sighed, and sat down on the crisp grass. Just ignore it, she thought warily. It'll go away.
"Your not from around here right?"
This time the voice seemed closer, almost as her. Her eyes fluttered, and her golden gaze met with a golden keiyou. At first she was shocked, obviously showing it. Slowly her posture changed, and her cold self emerged again. "I might not be. Who wants to know?"
Aur stood on all fours, scowling at the stranger. She had no idea what the male wanted, but she knew that whatever it is, it probably is not in her best interest.
A rough bark turned Aur's attention to a silver and purple cael, or lupus. The female appeared closer to her than before, and Aur took a step back. Her eyes narrowed. The wolves smelt the same, and Aur connected with smell with the pack of these lands. The voice of the female was slightly rough, and her posture seemed to warn her that she might have been having the same type of day as Aur.
Aur's gaze softened, as she was looking for someone to understand her. If that was anyone, it might as well be this female having a bad day. Still though, Aur was a loner. Loners weren't welcome on pack lands unless joining. These two could get the whole pack riled up for an attack on her in a matter of seconds. . . or they could become friends. No matter what, she had to escape this alive. It would be what Mikao would want.
"I.. I am a cael. It is natural for me to seek water. I am sorry for intruding. Though I cannot ignore the instinct to find safety--which can be found in numbers," she said lightly, attempting to sound convincing and innocent. It wasn't totally a lie, as she did need to find a pack soon, but she wasn't exactly convinced it would be this pack she needed to go into.

Brightness resisted flinching at the she-wolf's frosty tone. She might as well have been as cold as the snow he stood on for all of the hostility he felt bleeding off of her. The bright colored male quickly tried to calculate how to react. He couldn't be submissive, that would harm the pack's image. As much as he knew he wasn't welcome Brightness had come to think of the Children as home he couldn't let others get the wrong perception of it just because he didn't know how to deal with one loner.
So aloof politeness seemed to be the best route. Though he still didn't know how to respond to her question. Who wanted to know? Brightness Darkly resident temporary and untrusted member of the Children. Yeah that would go over real well.
To Bri relief another wolf showed up, one with a familiar scent. An actual pack member that he could defer to. Great, no need for him to say anything at all. Bri wanted to leave right then and there but decided against it. This new she-wolf might have been strong enough to take the loner but two was always better than one. So he returned the nod.
Everything was going well, she had address the loner, who turned out to be a Cael. Her tone had changed completely when she spoke to Lupa that made Brightness want to chuckle. She obviously favored the hunter's presence over his own. He couldn't blame her. Yes everything was going well until Lupa asked him who he was. Bri, gulped and fidgeted nervously.
"Uh Bri," he said lowly not meeting her eyes.

Lupa watched as the other female, who began to talk. A cael, hmm? Lupa knew that those wolves belonged in the water, such as a keiyou belonged in the sky. She nodded, for it seemed as though the cael had a point; her explanation sounded legit. Lupa nodded to show she understood, then said, "And may I know your name?" Her tone was friendlier now, though a long ways off from kind. Now that she knew this loner was most likely not a threat, she could relax, if only slightly.
She gave a hint of a smile to the loner and to Bri. Once again, she was taken back at how.. Big he was. Lupa hated to say that she was small, but it was the truth, and it made Bri seem even larger. He would intimidate others easy if he didn't act so cowardly and submissive. If she had that height.. It would be much easier, over all. The silvery lupus turned her attention back to the cael. "So, you accidentally wandered here in search of water, or are you also wishing to join?" The thought of another member reminded the lupus of Sunchaser, the friendly keiyou. She smiled to herself, the kieyou seemed quite nice, and she was sure Sunchaser would be a good addition to the pack.
Lupa hadn't met any caella yet, and it would be difficult if the cael in front of her was to be the only one. But the Children was a big pack, and Lupa reassured herself that there had to be at least one more cael. And water wouldn't be a problem, there was the river, though it froze at night. Lupa growled to herself again, for the snow was chilling her to the bone. Wistfully she pictured her warm den, and her little boy... Maybe Coneiron was there, too. But she knew she had to fix out this small issue of this loner, first. Bri had seemed relieved when she had came, and she began to think of odd reasons why Bri was acting like he was.
Her brow was raised and her face had a quizzical and slightly concerned expression when she turned to face Bri. "Not to be rude, but is there something wrong?" She remembered how he had fidgeted when she had addressed him, and she wanted to get to the bottom of this. But maybe being well, nosy, wasn't the right way. Lupa winced as she recalled the awkward moments between her and Draugur. She still hadn't delivered Draugur's cryptic message. It was a simple message, to tell the High Chief that Draugur said hi, but Lupa had not liked the sly expression he wore when he told her the message.
With difficulty, Lupa managed to turn her attention back to the two wolves. She had to focus, to concentrate. Her mind had been wandering more and more, and she guessed it was one of the reasons why she had failed to catch food for herself. A growl from her stomach had reminded her of that, and Lupa's expression was once again stormy.

Aur turned and attempted to meet Bri's eyes. She was shocked at how cowardice he seemed. He was so big and bulky, while she was the exact opposite. She smiled. She must have given him a scare, according to his lack of confidence he offered when giving Lupa his name. She figured he must not be such a tough wolf after all, and she ought to be nicer to him, not that she wanted him to think he could run all over her.
Lupa seemed to calm, which was a relief for Aureia. It told her that she had succeeded in not getting herself killed by a rabid pack of Children. "Aureia, I am." Aur offered her the same smile she had offered the pair. Looking closer, Aur noticed the size differences between them all. Lupa was the smallest, Aur was next, and then Bri was the tallest. "I'm not entirely sure. I am indeed looking for a pack, though I'm unsure of which I will choose. There are so many choices, I'm sure you know. I suppose you could say I examine them as I travel," she said in the same soft tone as before.
When Lupa turned her attention to Bri, Aur was glad to be off the spot. Having all the attention was not exactly her forte, and since she was a rather quiet, shy wolf, she didn't enjoy it. Aur hadn't met many wolves. But the amount has been increasing however recently. She wasn't sure what to think, as for years she has been lonely. She is unsure of how to act around them, or whether to attempt to befriend them or not. Still, the longing for a friend is there.
OOC/// Sorry it's short. Also, I've been wanting Aur to join the Children forcibly, though I have her joined in with Rey's post. ^^;;

It was easier to let Lupa deal with Aureia but he felt awkward just standing there like a bump on a log. He felt even more awkward not knowing either of these wolves. It didn't seem like Lupa recognized him as 'that temporary member from the Mafia' but she might just be trying to be polite.
Aureia made him nervous just because of her obvious hostility. It reminded him too much of his mother. If his tail was long enough it would have been between his legs. Maybe it was just the wrong day to be around these women but if not he really did prefer to hang around Lyxxi. Though the other Cael he had met had been nice enough, if not a little cuddly.
Bri blinked in surprise when Lupa asked him if there was something wrong. Yeah something was wrong! He was standing in the snow listening to two females who seemed to be having an off day. How was he suppose to be okay? It was a delicate and dangerous situation in Brightness' opinion. He was never hanging out on the outskirts of the territory ever again that was for sure. Or approach a stranger for that matter. Put him in uncomfortable positions.
"N-nothing is wrong," he said quickly. Man he wanted to be anywhere but there right now.
