[scrolly:h(308), w(340),sy] It was a chilly early winter afternoon, and the Lupus was glad for her thick purple coat that protected her from the cool breeze. Kasmira had left her four pups, who were already a month old, back in the den with her mate Seth so she could go for a small stroll. She hadn't talked with any other members of the Children for some time, and was hoping to meet them. Seth was often busy with his job as a guardian for the pack, and she understood this, but she needed some alone time to.
Her vivid green eyes scanned the winter valley, and she breathed in the fresh air: It was nice to get away for a bit, even if she did love her pups and family more than anything. They all had their unique quirks and personalities, and she couldn't wait for the day when Seth taught them all how to fly. She continued her walk, thinking of her family and friends with a small smile on her serene face. Soon it would be the pups first Christmas, and this she was looking forward to. She'd also like to visit the Alliance and see her friends Stone, Cyra and Faye again. It had been awhile...
After the whole pregnancy ordeal, her coat had resumed it's natural shine and vibrancy, and she felt much better: All in all, it had been worth it, and she was now happier than ever.... Then why did she still have a prickling along her spine?[/scrolly]

"Speaking" Blasted cold, blasted snow, blasted wind, Daedalus silently cursed! The periwinkle blue sennyo had been told to travel north and gain intel on the Children and Daedalus now found himself plunged into the land of the hellish snow. The soft whisy fur on his back was sprayed this way and that from being tossed around in the wind and his stomach rumbled hungrily. His little toes were quite frozen from their journey and he had completely lost feeling in his ears. However, the Don had decreed that the Specialist needed to undertake this mission and Dædalus was bound and determined to see it through to the end.
Eyes peeling against the cold air he kept his head tucked in as he trudged on, tail flicking out behind him as his antennas bobbed without enthusiasm. It would feel divine to return back to his tropical jungle of humid warmth and he was beginning to believe that any wolf that sought out to live in this land was stark raving mad. Luckily he was ever so near to his destination and soon his pointy nose began to pick up various pack scents. The cold wind and long travel had removed most of his own pack scent and Dæadalus was beginning to feel like a loner.
Up ahead the stark cold land was put into contrast as his two blue and green eyes took in the figure of a note worthy purple wolf. Finally, he thought with relief, someone to gather information from and not a minute too late. Fixing his posture up he resumed his graceful prance, fluttering his wings to rid them from the falling snow and moved in the wolf’s direction. The other wolf’s scent finally hit him and there was no mistaking the distinct scent of a pack and the underlining scent of female on the purple one’s fur. Perfect, he thought coyloy, for female’s emotions were significantly easier to read and distort.
His energy was low after his travel and the sennyo spy was hoping he could simply employ charm to gain the information he needed, but he was not above influencing the female’s emotions to gain what he sought. Speaking out confidently his smooth voice fluttered across the wind, “Good day madame, what a stunning sight it is to behold such ravishing colors against such a bland environment.” He gave her a grand bow, dipping his nose precariously close to the snow covered ground before raising his body to debate how this interview would proceed. “I am Dædalus, a humble loner merely caught in the snow.” He shrugged his dainty shoulders to say what could a wolf do about the matter, brushing the situation off.

[scrolly:h(308), w(340),sy] Then what to her wondering eyes should appear, but a shivering Sennyo in lack of winter gear! She noted the frail but beautiful wings, and the wispy, thin periwinkle fur. Kasmira was fairly certain that most Senny preferred to stay South, at least for the Winter months, and she didn't blame them. She had thick fur, and therefore the cold was less of a bother to her, but the wind was picking up and flurries began to fall.
He seemed like a loner, but if he was indeed, why would he come so far East? She would think it would be best to travel during the summer and spring months then during winter. But she had no reason to doubt his words, and being a little naive, she met him with a cheerful smile. "Thank you Daedalus, I must say the same to yourself." she winked, chuckling. Kasmira was eager to go home to her den and family, she hoped the pups were all warm enough, but they had grown so much in the last month, and the large, thick log was excellent shelter for them all. Still, she hoped Seth wouldn't worry too much, even of she had told him where she was going he did tend to be a bit protective.
She smiled tenderly as she thought of her Keiyou mate, and then resumed to the conversation at hand. She could leave him here, yet didn't want to bring a complete stranger to her den and family. "I am Kasmira, a storyteller for the pack that lives here, The Children of Hvitur Ari. It appears as if a small storm is beginning, perhaps if you followed me I could lead us to a more sheltered area?" She suggested kindly. The lupus began to walk further, checking back every so often to see if he was following her.
They came to a more sheltered area between several large pine trees. She concentrated for a moment and for added protection melted the light snow and frost currently gathered on the ground to make warm, sweet grass grow to lie on and warm up, as well as several more bushes around the outskirts to protect them from the wind. All in all, it was much warmer than outside, and even if her powers had taken a strain on her since the ground was quite frozen, it had been worth it for the warmth and comfort that now enveloped them. As usual, several flowers bloomed up with her creations as if of their own will, her personal touch.
"I think we'll be warm enough here until the wind and snow settles down, Daedalus. If you don't mind me asking, why have you come here, traveler?" she was curious.[/scrolly]

"Speaking" Dædalus shifted from side to side, trying to keep the frost bite that threatened to claim his tows at bay. How fortunate was he that he should come across a story teller, such wolves were surely known for their pesky gift of gab? His maw broke out in a pleased grin, perhaps this might turn out even easier then anticipated! Gratefully enough he followed the earth lupus into her makeshift shelter, marveling at the beautiful flowers that dotted the earth in the middle of the cold white blanket and he bent down to sniff one of the delicate plants.
Daedalus looked up at the darkening sky, hoping the falling snow would not prevent his mission from seeing success. It would not please the Specialist to be stuck in another wolf's land so far away from the delightful comforts of home and it would certainly not please the Don if his Specialist did not return in due haste. Nervously fluttering his wings he decided it was best that he get down to business so that he might leave the cursed territory as soon as possible. Already the story teller was beginning to question his presence and Dædalus did not like curiosity in his subjects, it simply caused him more aggravation then necessary.
Luckily if he resolved the issue early on he would not need to dispense his power on the children's pack member just yet, a little fib would certainly serve his purpose for the moment. Sighing melodramatically he said woefully, "Simply drifting my dear Kasmira and the wind caught me off guard, I dare say I ended up here quite by mistake." He gave the female a charming bashful smile, how terribly silly of him to have wandered, honestly. Inside Dædalus was chuckling, amused with the whole matter.
False surprise lit his face, but the curiosity that accompanied it was entirely real, this was an opening to gain more information about the pack, it appeared as though all he might have to do is feign interest in joining the pack to gain intel. However Dædalus prided himself on getting not just intel, but the most accurate and precise information, there was no room for commonness in his life or practice. "The Children? Is that the pack near this land?" He left the topic open, curious to see whether Kasmira would take the bait or not. It did not matter one way or the other, Dædalus would get his information.

[scrolly:h(308), w(340),sy] What a curious individual... Kasmira thought to herself. She was beginning to suspect this wolf, what did he want, anyways? Oh stop it! Her conscience chided the storyteller: He's just a lone, weary and hungry traveler, and you're being suspicious? Shame on you! She began to feel guilty about her previous thoughts, and resolved to be even more friendly with the Sennyo.
"Well, I'm sure once the snow clears up travel ling will be much easier, but there's always a place here if you need one." she offered kindly. It was true: There was a place for all wolves with the Children, and although settling down in the Winter was uncommon and difficult, it wasn't impossible. Perhaps the fates had been hard on the ale wolf, and all he needed was a friend and a home. Or so was what she thought to herself.
She chuckled at his innocent question: "Daedalus, this is the Children's land, though you are welcome so long as you pose no threat to us." she said the last bit jokingly, she doubted he would harm someone, but even so, all wolves received the same warning. "Reynard is our High Chief, and Yueh our Chief, and Satinka our Queen. We've had quite a few litters of pups in the last few seasons, myself included. So for that reason you won't see a great deal of pack members out and about, as the most of us want to stay home with our families." she beamed proudly when thinking of her darlings at home, safe and warm in their family den.
She glanced at him with her bright green eyes: "Even if it's just for the season, to have a home in Winter, there's always room for more in our pack." she offered him. "I of course can't accept members, but I could introduce you to Reynard, though he might be busy himself being a new father and all." she smiled: She'd met Satinka and her pups, even told them all a story. They were a nice family. She knew that she was telling this to a loner, but he was a rather harmless looking male, alone, not part of another pack.[/scrolly]

"Speaking" ooc: Use of powers with Kas`permission. Pose no threat? This brought a quiet smile to Dædalus' face, what the hospitable Kasmira did not realize was that she posed the greatest threat at the moment for it was from her mouth that now spilled the information that would be ever so useful to the Don and his disgusting Enforcer. His voice rang out ever so gratefully, "Well now I sure hope so, but I am just a humble chap really you needn't concern yourself on my behalf. I am sure I will be just fine." Dædalus gave the falling snow a dubitatif glance, fine indeed if one enjoyed frozen toes and icy wings. The last was said rather morosely, the conniving sennyo was beginning to see that the way through this wolf's defense would be to play the part of the ever discarded poor retch that had fallen prey to life's woes. Slightly degrading but necessary for the task at hand, he surmised woefully.
Visibly brightening at the mention of puppies the sneaky sennyo exclaimed, "Oh puppies! I do love puppies, such wonderful bundles of innocent joy!" False, false and more false, puppies were an utter waste of his precious time, their needy demands and ridiculous manners were disgraceful at best and he very seldom ever involved himself with pups. "The proud parents must certainly be overjoyed, congratulations Kasmira. I can imagine this must take up a lot of their time..." Dædalus noted while observing a particularly interesting species of flower. He wondered if this lupus could create her own species of vegetation or if she was limited to existing ones.
Sighing Dædalus said with feigned regret, "It pains me to say but I am terribly mis-informed, I know very little about the Children, though if all are as hospitable as yourself it must be a grand pack." Just ducky, he thought, simply lovely to be stuck playing the ignorant lost wolf when I would never get lost. He needed to get more information out of this wolf, something better, a golden nugget that would immediately place him at top information gatherer in the mafia...
It would take all bloody night to gain enough intel to fully satisfy the sennyo, therefore it was time to work his magic and with a bit of luck he'd be out of there before the purple female knew what had hit her. Concentrating he took note of the awfully vibrant shades of emotions that encircled the female wolf, resisting the urge to shield his eyes as he used his second sight to note the emotions. Goodness but this one was a chipper sort, if he could but bottle some of that good cheer he would be a rich fellow indeed. However for now he concentrated on the weaving of a couple emotions in particular, that which would set the female more at ease and create an exceptional illusion of comfort and familiarity. In essence the result would be Kasmira feeling as though she were having a discussion with a long lost good friend. That should do it, as Dædalus mentally weaved the last fibers into the tapestry.

[scrolly:h(308), w(340),sy] She nodded in agreement to the Sennyo's words, when suddenly an odd feeling began to spread through Kasmira. The Sennyo began to change from a friendly traveler to an old, trusted friend in the earth Lupus's eyes, and in her mind and heart, there was absolutely no doubt that he must be an honorable and kind wolf indeed. Which was false of course, and although she still wasn't quite sure how they'd met before, she knew that they were great friends. She smiled, and for some reason she simply started talking about rather pertinent information: Kasmira simply felt at ease around Daedalus, her good, jolly old pal.
Thoughts of the weather, her family and her pack strayed from the female's mind as the Sennyo's powers began to latch unto her. "Oh yes, I myself have four puppies, while the Queen and High Chief have three, and another member, Aurora I believe her name is, has had some also I just don't don't know the exact amount... I'll have to meet them sometime..." she added absent-mindedly. "Yes, it is a rather nice pack, very well organized. Coneiron, a water Lupus and also a good friend of mine, is Head Guardian, and my own mate is also a guardian. Zipppora, my sister, wouldn't you know, a fire Lupus is also a guardian though she started out as a hunter. Oh yes, another Lupus, Somatra, she can make wonderful music with the wind. Yueh is Chief, and Reynard is High Chief. His Queen has a beautiful name, Satinka, what a lovely Keiyou family..." she replied.
Kasmira didn't know why she was talking so much, but such a good friend was to be trusted, right? " I think that's it for guardians though, but they keep us pretty safe. Besides, wolves rarely attack at this time of year anyways. And why would anyone want to attack us?" she mused, but her thoughts went back again to the colorful Sennyo: She wouldn't want to ignore her best friend. "There was this one incident, at a pack meeting, where this Keiyou showed up, Draugur, was his name, seemed to be albino of some sort... Poor fellow, he seemed rather distraught. Even that's taking it rather lightly, he attacked Reynard I believe, but the High Chief is strong, he survived well enough." she added. Daedalus was certainly getting an earful, and any other wolf seeing Kas would know something was up, because even the talkative female would never divulge such secrets to outsiders, even if they were friendly.
"Ah yes, there was another incident sometime in November, poor Reynard was injured in a hunting accident I believe, perhaps with a Calagris. Other pack members helped to fight the animal, but his injuries were quite severe. I helped heal him, along with Satinka, Yueh and one of his adopted sons, I believe. Several of his ribs were broken, he'd gotten some nasty cuts and he may have lost eyesight in one eye. I hope all heals well, now that my pups are born I might go visit to see if there's anything else I can do to help speed up the healing." she finished, yawning.
The softly falling snow was getting to her, and it was late afternoon. She'd stayed up late with the pups, apparently Keiyou and Lupus hybrids needed less sleep. Little did she know she had given valuable information to a mafia wolf to further help bring down her beloved pack...[/scrolly]

"Speaking" Dædalus gave a wide foxy grin of delight, his powers were proving most advantageous indeed and already he was getting a wealth of knowledge. The tibbits were spewing from the lupus at a healthy rate and the Sennyo ws rapidly catalogging what would be of use and what would not in the mafia`s little expidition. So many pups made for a rather vulnerable pack and the Don would be pleased to learn of this turn of events.
However what particularly struck the sennyo as a real nugget of gold was Reynard, the so called High Chief`s condition. So the pack was not only ruled by older wolves, but also by feeble and debilitated ones too. Laughing in merriment Dædalus surmised that if the mafia attacked sooner rather then later they might still stand a chance of catching the pack at a weaker point. Oh joyous wondrous day he thought, resisting the urge to hug himself in his happy state, won`t the Don be pleased with this information. Surely the Don would be ever so glad to have Dædalus in the mafia? The sennyo didn`t doubt it for a minute.
“My my, what a lovely sounding pack, and so much new life! New life needs to be treasured now doesn`t it?” He put his dainty paw over Kasmira`s white one, a reassuring gesture thatonly good friends might share. “I am sure you will be able to help, I do so hope your High Chief will be alright.” Not if the mafia had anything to do with it…Chuckling softly his bright eyes were alight with energy, dark orbs that contained great knowledge, as he fed his power through Kasmira`s emotions. He grew tired already from his efforst, drawn weary from the winter trek and knew that he would have to bring this little encounter to an end, but he still felt as though there was more priceless information to gain from this healer.

[scrolly:h(308), w(340),sy] The powers of the Sennyo were well-honed and practiced, because the effect on Kasmira was powerful, and the she-wolf didn't even know she was under his influence. By the time she suspected anything, it would most likely be too late. Her eyes had turned almost glassy, Daedalus's powers having a hypnotic effect almost, and her voice held an semi-dreamlike quality, distant and thoughtful. Most of the things she told him she wouldn't ever tell a stranger, and some of them she would simply keep to herself even, but she suddenly found herself more talkative with her "old friend".
The lupus began to forget even why she was here at this moment, and for a millisecond she startled, until she reassured herself that she was with a dear friend. "Oh, there was one other thing... I think the Children may have a prisoner of some sorts... He isn't mistreated or anything, he just... Lives with us, I suppose. I've never met him, but the word is he might come from the Mafia, that dastardly pack of criminals. I wonder why he came here?" she puzzled for a moment: She thought Mafia members were cruel, cold wolves, but although she had never met the wolf she was certain he must have some character or Reynard would never have let him in.
"I think his name is... Lightness Darkly? Or is it Darkly Bright? I know he's got two names, one of them Darkly or something of the like... Any who, I really should meet him sometime, I've been rather busy with the pups..." she was growing distracted, most likely a symptom of the Sennyo's powers on the healer.[/scrolly]

"Speaking" Dædalus` large ears perked forward rapidly, his antennas straight as he avoided letting out a triumphant bark. He had done it! This new developing was astonishing and was just what the mafia would need in order to launch a small attack. Oh the day was ever better and Dædalus gave Kasmira a dazzling grin of approval, such a helpful informant, he thought gleefully. It was high past time that he returned to his cozy little den in the jungle, and with nothing more of interest he knew he needed to make a clean break before another pack member noticed his presence and Kasmira`s odd mannerisms.
Putting on a false face of shock he said, “Oh my! A mafia member? Horrid vile individuals them, the most powerful of the darkest criminals gather in that wretched pack, or so I am told.” A small knowing smile graced his maw, yes there were quite some characters in the mafia, and Dædalus had an idea of why a wolf might have fled the jungle. However, if there was one rule that was strongly enforced it was this; once in the mafia always in the mafia and the little traitor deserved the horrid lashing he would receive for his treason. Dædalus had a small suspicion the Don would be excessively pleased to hear about this, the fellow had a rather nasty temper and it would please the sennyo that it would be this traitor that received the brunt of it and not Dædalus.
The snow seemed to have alleviated and the male now found himself in higher spirits after resting for a bit. Eager to be on his way he stood up and shook out the couple flakes of snow that had fallen on his back and flicked his wispy tail in anticipation. He chose to keep feeding emotions to Kasmira and as he would put distance between him his power would slowly fade so that she would not immediately alert any other pack mates. Breaking out in a charming grin he said, “Well my dear, it has been a real pleasure to talk with you, I find you to be most hospitable, most hospitable indeed. Now I must take my leave for I have simply taken up too much of your time and you must be simply dying to get back to your adorable family I am sure. Do take care of yourself, perhaps we may yet cross paths again in the future?” He dipped his head in farewell before moving out into the snow and trotting off with a bouncy gait. Kasmira would remember talking a lot, of this he knew for certain, but Dædalus had not divulged his information and so with a bit of luck the female would never know whom she had given such precious information to until it way too late…
