Rarity: Rare; preferably
Name/Plural: Quanum/Quanum
Size: 60-80 inches;140-200 lbs
Lifespan: 6-10 years
Pelt: Bright earth tones, darker colored socks and tipped ears
Eyes: Most dark and unnatural colors
Strengths: Natural defense, Agility
Description: Quanum are and odd group. They reproduce quickly and give birth in half the time most other species of wolves do. The baby stays in the pouch until it is three months old then it doesn't have to stay in the pouch but can until it is six months old. Quanum can then after those three months, reproduce again. Rarely do they have two at once, usually they are twins. The pup(s) stay close to the mother until they are around a year old. Then they are old enough to leave their mother. While most can leave at a year some do not until two years and they have a higher chance at life if they do. Most Quanum are very protective and have closely knit traveling groups, not necessarily packs, just groups of rogues or loners. They tend to stray and start their own groups occasionally and seek shelter in dry open grassy areas. They also find great pleasure in long distance traveling and sprinting. Quanum are more afraid of other species but if not directly attacked or constantly bothered can adapt to and find friendship in other wolves.
Lore of the Species: Quanum are a very shy group of wolves. They tend to keep to themselves and try to avoid danger. Their front half is that of a normal wolf, but their hind half is similar to that of a kangaroo. They have enormous hind legs and tails that can crush most other wolves in an instant. Only females have pouches that hold and carry their young till they are old enough to take care of themselves. The Quanum is the only species of wolf that can stand on two legs and stand taller than other species to get a better look at it's surroundings. Also unlike other wolves, they give birth much earlier inside the pouches and their young spend most time suckling inside the safety of the mother's pouch. Quanum use their tails and hing legs to box with other Quanum or wolves only for self defense or to prove their worth to a female they desire. Females usually are not picky with mates but require they prove themselves regardless of looks with an act of strength or bravery in their presence. To have a Quanum as a mate guarantees the most loyal and protective wolf and is usually seen as an honor since most are too afraid to stray from their own kind.
Reproduction Concerns: Females can only hold so many in their pouches resulting in deformities in larger litters, usually only having one or two at most but not at the same time.
