Under his breath (which was coming out in faint clouds), Douvin was cursing the forest. The trees, the rocks, the birds, the very sky it sat under- everything. It was too cold and too rugged to be going through Parran this season, and winter hadn't even tickled the other territories.
"This is just great." The old Yagi was slowly worked his way up the path. "There's ice everywh-- ah!" He stopped in his tracks as a loose rock threatened to send him on his face. He swore at the rock before taking another breath that would go to bewitching the forest. "There's ice everywhere, nothing is stable and there's not the slightest sign of life. Winter is truly the most terrible time of the year!"
And it was true. Winter when Douvin was a puppy chilled his little body. He hated the snow because it always signified that food was most likely below ground or away. When he was a general, it slowed his attacks. The world died when the winter arrived, and with it, what little spirit Douvin possessed. These woods were going to be the death of him, probably, and he didn't like that one bit.
And if anyone appeared to get in his way, they'd better be ready for a grumpy old wolf with a limp and a weather grudge.

"C'mon Eo!" his voice was what roused her as the white hued pup bounced on top of his drowsy sister. The others had left the home tree, leaving just the two of them cosied up beside Avalon. Their mum had pretty much taken permanent bed rest, exhausted from not only raising her own, but Ahote's litter. She lay silently asleep a little ways away from the waking hybrid. Eolande's purple eyes shot open and she snapped at her brother, milk teeth flashing the glints of sunlight from the opening to the tree.
"Delirium, get off," she growled, and the smaller pup quickly obeyed, sliding off her and staring up at her with huge, yellow eyes. Eolande sighed, growling a bit, and closed her eyes once more. She knew there was no way she'd end up staying mad at her brother. Considering she disliked most of her other siblings, Delirium was lucky in the fact that she actually tolerated his prescence. Not that she had much of a choice, what with him always following her around.
"Why is it so important that you must wake me up every morning to show me the new "thing" you found? I honestly don't care what it is this time," she growled again, rolling onto her stomach and pushing herself up. She was much larger than her full lupus brother, her long, lean limbs sprouting her up above him. She must have been at least a head taller than him, her horns already beginning to grow into small spirals. She stared down at him hard and Delirium replied with a sneeze.
Once he had regained his composure he looked back up and wagged his tail, making a thumping noise against the ground. "Everyone's out! I thought we could go on an adventure! Aroh gave me some hunting tips! Maybe I can catch us a rabbit!" Eolande sighed. She knew full well that all the rabbits were holed up in their cosy dens, but of course she knew better than to pump logic through his brain.
"Fine. Let's go then," she grumbled, letting him lead the way from the tree. It didn't take them long to find their way into the valley amidst the trees. Soon though Eolande paused, smelling something unfamiliar and altogether unsettling. Perhaps it was instinct, but suddenly Delirium was captured by the scruff, and she pulled the pup into a thick bush with her.
The crunching of snow became louder and suddenly there was a wolf beside them, huge and horned, just like Ahote. Just like... her, almost. Delirium looked up in awe at the beast, aiming to step out. Eolande merely grabbed hard onto his nape and yanked him back. She didn't recognize this wolf. Even still, it wouldn't be long before he found their hiding place. He didn't seem to be hostile; her eyes took in his limp, and his age. But either way she would not underestimate anyone.
"Delirium, run back to the tree, get... someone, okay?" she whispered, her words met with a single nod. Once she was sure Delirium understood, she moved out of the bushes, her hackles bristling slightly. Even at only about 8 months of age, Eolande was still quite large for her size, and could easily have passed for a yearling. Her tail was out behind her, purple eyes narrowed slightly.
"Who are you and why are you tresspassing?" she growled, trying to mimic how she would assume Ahote or Alucio would address a stranger. Of course, what she couldn't bet on was Delirium showing up by her side, trying to mimic her own stance, his white body almost blending in with the snow.
"Yeeeeeaaaaah, why are you tresspassing mister?!" he added to his sister's voice, his tiny little teeth bared. Had Eolande not been focused on the worlf before her she would have tackled the male to the ground, but she held her ground, moving a bit just to shield her brother in case of attack.
