Torn padded through the cold night air, his stone leg make a dull thump on the ground every forth step. The lands were different since he had visited them last. It was new to him. Basic landmarks were there, but he felt as if he were walking in a dream, not quite attached to reality. Sometimes he though he could even hear voices speaking to him.
He stopped, sitting down for a moment. Were the voices the same that cursed him. I cast his gaze at the dirt in front of him. The same ones that removed his normal life, stealing it from him. Glaring torn snapped his eyes into his earth vision, or Earth'Lai as he had begun to call it. He used it whenever he tapped his power, without control of it. He picked up some dust and carefully reinforced his leg, something he had to do almost daily. He hated it.
Closing his eyes he released his power, letting the pain attack his leg. It was slight and bearable. He lifted his eyes to the sky. "Why have you put this cruelty upon me..." He whispered the question to no one, but listened for an answer anyway. It never came. I wonder why...

"Speaking" The lightning lupus padded along from her den in the forest to the Lake, hoping to meet some pack members along the way to chat with. It was a cold day, but Faye was used to colder temperatures as her old pack had been in the North and winters over there were even harsher. Her white fur blended in well with her snowy surroundings, except for the navy blue swirls that covered her legs and back.
Suddenly, her yellow eyes caught on an unknown wolf, sitting not far away. Is he a new pack member? she wondered to herself, stopping in her tracks, her breath misting in the air. But no, she had not seen him at the pack meeting, and he didn't smell like the Accord. She advanced, at her full height, fur bristling, she growled low: A warning. He had gone much too far into the Centenna Accord's lands, it was both disrespectful and threatening. Had he wished to join, or form an ally, he should have stayed closer to the borders. And so close to her den too, what if he had stumbled upon younger pack members?
The thought sent little bolts of yellow lightning to dance along her spine and reflect off of the icicles surrounding them, hanging from the trees. Her ears flat, she stayed a few feet away and barked out: "Who are you, and what is your purpose here? You are on the Centenna Accord's lands. Speak now or leave." Her eyes narrowed dangerously as she fought to keep her cool, and the lightning faded and died. Faye;s voice was stern, but not overly filled with emotion: She would give him time to explain himself before any more action. Her eyes were accusing as she quickly thought: He doesn't look threatening... But you never know, being so close to Mafia land. She waited for him to reply, and it had better be a good one or he was going to find himself in a very dangerous situation: Faye didn't like wolves threatening her family, her pack.

Torn saw the wolf approach and stood. You could never be too careful. That's when the lightning flashed. Only a lupus would have that power Torn reasoned, an immediately his mind churned. This wolf could have better training, not to mention an Earth lupus fighting a Lightning lupus would be... bad for the surrounding area.
Centenna Accord? Torn had no idea what they were but he didn't really want to start a feud with a pack. He couldn't use his Earth'Lai, provoking her would go badly. He considered running. No that wouldn't do either, lightning would win that race no problem. So that left the option to stay. Torn backed away cautiously. "I'm afraid I've not heard of the Centenna Accord, I've not been in known lands for some time. It was a simple mistake." Torn's voice stayed low, and soft. He assumed this would straighten things out, but he couldn't be sure. He had to use his curses. He tapped into the power of his forcefields, feeling the pain begin to arise in his leg. Against lightning he had no doubt he would only have very little defense, but it was something. And with luck the shimmer of the small dome over him wouldn't be noticeable in the night air. Torn in body and mind...

"Speaking" OOC: Sorry for the delay.
Faye listened to him speak, and made her decision: He was telling the truth, it was written in his eyes and heard in the words he spoke. She dropped her defensive posture and sat, a more relaxed posture that would put them hopefully both more at ease. She looked him in the eyes with her own yellow ones: "I apologize for the aggressive way I approached you, traveler, I know it may seem harsh but with us being so close to Mafia land, you wouldn't imagine what sorts of wolves we can meet. With you unknowingly trespassing, it gave me a bit of a start." She gave a small smile of wry humor.
And it was true: Just like what had happened to the poppy meadow back at the Connewa Meadow, with that fire lupus, Scorch. If she ever met him again, Faye gave a silent vow that she'd strike him down on sight. "This is Lake Amarenthyst, and we are currently in the Caiyen Forest, a part of our lands. May I present myself: My name is Faye, and I am Duchess for the Centenna Accord. Be assured that we're really quite a friendly pack, unlike what you just witnessed." she gave a small wink to lighten the mood.
Faye regretted that they couldn't have met in a better way, but she didn't feel guilty or foolish: She'd only been trying to protect her pack, as she was sure any other wolf would have done. "Just out of curiosity, since you're new to this area, may I ask as to where you are traveling? Perhaps I can give you some directions." The lupus offered kindly.
