The female lupus moved with a grace that was learned through experience, a proud step and a regal tilt of her head that she had developed over the past couple moons. Before joining the Philia Alliance she had been a meagre loner, no family, no friends...no one. From within her sanctuary of cliffs she had lived a terribly solitary life devoid of contact with others and in the keeping of her own company and that of the gulls that shared her ocean home. Leaving to venture out in the world had seemed necessary, and as it were had become a life altering decision that she had yet to regret. The Queen`s mind travelled back to that small den in the face of the cliff, just big enough to allow her to move around it seemed tiny compared to the vast expanse that was the Lake Amarenthyst. It could be said that those years alone had been elementary in the conquest of her power, for all she had done was practice it day in and day out, harnessing her ability until it had become the finely homed weapon she now knew it to be.
Evelyn had gifted her with a power boost, for that she would be eternally grateful for it meant she could serve as protection to her pack and help fight alongside the Knights and keep council with the Lord of Defence. Learning the wisdom of the priest and clear vision of the Archduchess and Duchess had come with time, but it could certainly be said that Keinvarii had at one time filled almost all the ranks in the Accord, though never under the same names. Her clear blue eyes sparkled with joy on most days, happiness had come through great effort and considerable difficulties, but she had persevered and stuck to her guns and now she could sit back and watch with love as her pack grew and strengthened. Keinvarii could not say she had always wanted this for herself, in fact she had never even considered it a possibility, but the beauty of it all astounded her.
The lupus had considered herself to be rather in contempt of assuming a leading role, doubting her abilities to guide and be the strong face pack wolves needed. However Magispar and Evelyn had helped her to overcome this fear, and with their help and that of so many others she was now the Alpha she was meant to become. The Alliance had taught her respect for fellow wolves, compassion for those not as strong and diplomatic tact that she had never had to deal with before. Though she now considered ranks a necessity, the chance to experience equality had been appreciated; it had shown her that all skills were valuable and worthwhile. Though she had felt twinges of guilt at having to reform the notion of equality, she had seen firsthand that the pack needed leaders that could help direct it, individuals that they could look up to and learn skills from that had experienced life and gained wisdom though their own experiences. Her pack held a royal court of nobility, they were ancient in their practices and yet modern in their freeing beliefs.
The King she had chosen was the ideal wolf for the rank, she could tell he too had experience and had learned about life. Day by day she was growing accustomed to Acélan, though it could still not be said that she felt any true feeling of tenderness for the wolf, if not perhaps respect and a small kinship. She missed her talks with the compassionate and gentle mannered hybrid; Siren, but she also feared that by instilling a King to save the pack she had also destroyed a dear friendship in the process. In Siren`s presence she had felt something...more, a bond upon their first meeting that she had yet to ever feel with any male and though she had a mate she missed that sense of simple companionability she had shared with the hybrid male. Was it wrong to want to converse with an individual that catered to a more sensitive side of herself? She had never embraced this aspect of her personality before Siren, had not dropped her face of strength in any other wolf`s presence and though she felt true physical attraction to Acélan a deeper part of her called out to Siren.
It seemed like treason to want more then what she had, an affront of her word but she had denied herself her own wants for so long she was now tired and seeking to finally care for herself. But first she needed to explain herself to Siren, she needed him to understand her decision. Perhaps he would still consider it a betrayal, she could not blame him, but at least she would have had the honour of trying. Walking along the river she soon came upon the rapids that fell down the inclination and would eventually join up with the lake. Seething foam bubbled on the surface, shimmering in the light of day and the crisp clear water sang as it twirled through the rocks. She paused her travels to move to the edge of the water and lower her head, closing her eyes to lap at the brisk clean water. The cold liquid ran down her throat like silk and she sighed wearily, it would take courage to face Siren, and yet she had been terribly looking forward to seeing the hybrid.
