The forest had quickly become familiar to Brightness as the months sense coming to the Children had passed. He knew exactly where he was and how far away he was from where the other wolves denned, specifically Kaly, so he knew where not to go. The large hybrid wouldn't risk going anywhere near the rest of the pack. He didn't want to step on anyone's paws and he knew how Reynard felt about him. Of course he had meet some very nice wolves; Moonrose, Cresent, and Kaly.
The monstrous youth heaved a sigh, Kaly. He needed to stop thinking about her. It would only break his heart even more. The golden hybrid would never admit it but he was avoiding the little spit fire of a Lyxxus. There was no possible way she could like him back. There was no future with Brightness. He was just some mafia runaway trying to fake his way through his life. He had hit the provable brick wall.
It was then that Brightness realized he was sulking... yet again. It was funny how Kaly could make him feel so good and right and yet so wrong and awful. If only he hadn't realized his feelings. Everything would have been hunky doory. But no. Love sucked.
By this time Bri had wandered too close to where the rest of the pack resided. The scent of the Children strengthened in the cold winter air. Brightness sneeze and shook his feathers. He wasn't sure he wanted to be here. Running into one of the Children wasn't exactly on the top of his to-do list. Brightness wanted to growl at his own cowardice. It had done him no good in the past and it was doing him no good now. Being afraid of wolves that wouldn't hurt him. Or would they? How could he be sure? If they didn't trust him, if they were afraid of him, how could he be sure they wouldn't attack him?
'This isn't the mafia, you've been here for months and nothings gone wrong,' he scolded himself. Still, he didn't plan to stick around this area any longer.

[scrolly:h(425), w(340),sy] "Speaking" Her pelt was dappled with the sun as it peeked through the branches and dances with the shadows as the breeze gently moved the world. She was at peace, sitting there on the ground with her four tails wrapped comfortably around her. Her sapphire eyes were half lidded, staring off into the darkness that the forest provided. Nearly impossible to get through for most other wolves, but as a Lyxxus her vision was exceptional. Her slitted pupils sliced through even the thickest darkness, giving her not only outlines of the things around her, but most days it would be colors and details that one would see in daylight.
Moonrose could hear her heart beating calmly and slowly in her chest, thrumming to a nearly perfect rhythm. This was her form of meditation on a daily basis. She had calmed herself down a lot, especially after what she discovered when it came to her feelings for Nocht. Her talk with Satinka had allowed her the opportunity to think about everything that she had done with the male, and she did notice that many of her memories here in these lands were greatly associated with him. Other than Reynard, Nocht was the first wolf of the pack that she did meet. Others came and went, then she became associated with his mother and his brother.
There were others that she was concerned about, too. Kalylia was one of them, but she had not seen the female since her encounter with the fiery female when she found her and Nocht in the cave. She remembered that day, chasing after the rabbit, tripping and tumbling into the cave, hurting herself in the process. Nocht had heard her yelp, smelled her distress, and came to check if she was well. Kalylia made all the wrong assumptions and accusations that day, giving the Guardian a specific dislike for her. However, it was long gone now. That female was young still, and had plenty to learn. Besides, she was a Hunter, so the Guardian did hold some pride there.
There's also Brightness... She thought to herself, continuing to stare off into space. I wonder how he is... Has he settled well into the lands, made friends? Did I make the right choice by bringing him here? All of these questions raced uncomfortably in her mind. She was well aware of Reynard's dislike for Hybrids, but she also knew that he had two Hybrid pups himself, Aurora's litter. Such things confused her, but she would not question her leader. Ever since Draugur had made himself known to the world, she had pledged herself to this pack, no matter what happened. If Reynard was taken down, then she'd go down too. Her loyalty was unwavering.
Her ears twitched when she heard the sound of someone shuffling around. Perhaps they were lost, but she did not know. Her sapphire eyes opened fully and she turned her head to the left. A patch of light hit her face, showing off the massive scarring that her body held. Nearly all of the fur on the left side of her face was missing, and other scars littered the rest of her body. The missing face fur had come from Ebony, a wolf that she had fought a long while ago and had sustained major injuries from. It was there that she saved Brightness, and in return he brought her home. In a way, he saved her by bringing her back.
Moonrose gazed harder at the shape that she saw, finding the pelt a beautiful golden color. She did not know anyone like that, at least at first. Then, she made out the shape of the wings, the massiveness of the body. A small smile adorned her maw, and she couldn't help but just recognize him. "Brightness Darkly. My, my, my." The female stood up and paced towards the shape, approaching the male steadily. The scars on her body were still visible, especially the ones on her face. "My how you've grown, my dear friend..." That was all she could say. He had certainly gotten much bigger, for she knew she hadn't.

A familiar voice caught Brightness' attention. A surge of anticipation ran through him as his ears perked to attention and he turned. He hadn't heard wrong it was Moonrose! Bri's spirits lifted considerably. She was even smaller than he remembered, but then again he hadn't been done growing when they had first meet and Bri had been malnourished.
"Moonrose!" he yipped like a young pup. He bounded over to her and buried his nose in her shoulder, which could have knocked her over considering his size. But he was too overjoyed to see her to notice. Moonrose had been the first kind wolf he had met in his life, she had saved him and she held a special place in his heart. Bri owed his life to the Lyxxus.
The sheepish grin dropped from his face as he stepped back and took in the scar that marred her face. That was his fault. If he hadn't led her to that cave they never would have been cornered by Ebony... he never should have spared her life.
"Pups do seem to do that," he smiled weakly, the depressed feelings that had vanished for a moment had returned. He hefted his shoulders in a shrug. Bri laid down so he could be on eye level with Moonrose," How have you been?"he asked.
Brightness looked back to how he was when he first meet the scarred Lyxxus. How different was he? He was bigger, would she still like him? He wasn't ready to loose both Moonrose and Kaly. Maybe he should try and act like he had when he first met her. But Brightness wasn't that wolf anymore, he was stronger now. Or he was before he got his feelings confused.

His exclamation of her name in joy made her smile grow even wider, and for the first time in awhile she felt herself let go of everything that she had been so concerned about. He seemed to have that effect on her, this carefree young male, to allow her to calm herself and just forget everything that weighed so heavily on her shoulders. He probably had that effect on a lot of others, as well, despite how big he was and where he was from. It seemed to her that he was a great companion to those around him. She certainly knew that she appreciated him, more than anyone else in these lands would, only because she understood him better than the rest of her pack.
"You've certainly gotten handsome, too. It'll be no time before you get the attention of some ladies around here." She teased him lovingly, holding her ground when he buried his nose into her chest and then stepped back. It was true. With age, most wolves gained some sort of physical attraction about them. Satinka had told her that the Lyxxus had always been beautiful, and she did not doubt her adopted mother's words. She knew the Keiyou always had the best in mind when it came to the pack members, especially her and her pups, not to mention Reynard's adopted children, Nocht and Atlan, even Angel.
Moonrose sighed, "I have been well. Meditation takes away most of the pain and helps me keep my focus from the memories. I don't lash out in my sleep during my nightmares anymore, but it seems as though they are calming down, too. I've been training, too, as usual. My tree climbing is still great. Everything has healed since the...attack, but it does hurt occasionally. I've also got a power too!" That was the exciting part about everything to her, since she knew how to control it very well. Occasionally, she still messed things up, meaning she still had quite a bit to learn about her power, but she would take it step by step.

Heat rose to Brightness' face as she teased him, calling him handsome. Getting girls attention. A girl had certainly gotten his attention. He had yet to tell anyone his feelings for Kaly. It was something he really needed to do, get it off his chest. Maybe he would fell less confused if he did. Bright blue eyes gazed at Moonrose meaningfully. He knew he could trust her. Moonrose was so important to him and he wanted to share so bad.
"A-actually, there is a girl," he said shyly," Uh, Kaly, but I messed up really bad and I don't know what to do." The admission felt good. He hadn't said it straight out sense he first realized that he like Kaly more than a friend.
Nightmares, Brightness understood those. He had been getting them less frequently sense Kaly had come into his life. Recently though they had come back, worse than before. Because now it wasn't just him being captured and tortured by the mafia, it was Kaly, the children, all the friends he had made sense he had left. It made him shiver, glad that they thought he was dead.
He made to nuzzle her again. She was so small. Brightness really had grown, fully, not just in height but in mass as well. He was fed now, and had been hunting and strengthening himself. Exercising his wings and legs. "A new power?" his ears perked up again. He had know wolves with powers, if anyone deserved them it was Moonrose, "What can you do?"

She pondered about the look on his face, the meaningfulness in his eyes that made her curious. She had to wonder what it meant. She knew what love and hate were, and she was going through her own issues with Nocht at that moment. She loved the male more than life, but he could be a pain in her ass from time to time, as stubborn as he was. That didn't stop the feelings, though, and Satinka had helped her to believe that. There was no stopping what she felt and she knew it better than anyone, except maybe for her adopted mother. Satinka meant the world to her, just as Brightness, Kaly, and Nocht did.
She perked an eyebrow at his statement. So there was a girl...and it was Kalylia? "Really? Kaly?" She paused a moment to soak in the information, learning more about how he had messed up and was clueless on what to do. She was silent for a second, then chuckling heartily. "Bri, have you ever thought of just telling her about your feelings? Even if she were to reject you, at least you had the guts to stand up like a man and say something. Don't be afraid of her, Bri, because I'm sure she feels the same way." She wasn't going to speak of her encounter with said female the other day, and how things had gone.
Concentration came to her face as she went silent to his question. She focused her power on him, and slowly, yet surely, lifted him several inches off the ground. Going a little farther, he was a foot off the ground and she grinned up at him. "This is what I can do." She allowed him to float there in the air through her own willpower for a few seconds before placing him gently back in his own spot. "It's Telekinesis. It gives me the ability to move things with my mind. It's rather useful, to be honest, especially for someone of my size, but it's difficult to control." Again, with practice she would be able to do better.
