Beck crept through the long frost gilded grass, careful as not to be surprised. Anything could be surrounding her. Senses on high alert she moved slowly through the frozen plains. Taking great care with each step. Her ears twitched with every sound. This place was haunting, the eerie silence was getting to her, every slight movement caused her to spring high into the air. She had to follow the trail though. The musky aroma of a wolf, young not quite as young as her but still the creature was in its prime.
Why she was following the wolf she didn’t know, only that she was staying far behind. Trailing at a distance was always the best option with strangers. Perhaps it was the thought that maybe this wolf would lead her to their pack. Just maybe they would accept her and she would have a family. No those were lies she told herself to be happy no one wanted a wolf killers blood, tail drooping she brought her nose back to the ground. Immersing herself in the other creatures scent. It was good to have something to do, take her mind off of everything that was just beneath the surface. Of course she wanted a pack, but how could an outcast like herself ever find acceptance. She shook her head violently. ‘Don’t be negative, the only reason why your following this wolf is for food, be realistic.’ Now she was talking to herself. That was a great sign, she truly was insane.
While her mind was wandering she didn’t notice the changing of the landscape around her. Slowly the growth around her had been petering out replaced by shallow banks of snow. The frozen drifts were not enough to conceal her; she was out in the open for everyone to see. How had she been so careless, stupid as always. Scanning the plains around her she searched for a sign of the wolf. She really was crazy, imagining scents that weren’t there. Dropping to the ground she let out a loud huff. Today was not going the way she had planned. As she lay on the ground a frozen pool of ice seemed to seep out from her body, crystalizing the hard packed snow.

Cresent didn't know why she was returning to the Valley, it was still Winter and the cold was like a thousand needles poking and prodding at her body, it wasn't a very comfortable feeling to the Lyxxi. She sighed and wrapped as much of her body as possible with her four tails, hoping that it would keep some of her body heat in, and maybe make Winter seem a bit less annoying.
Her ears quickly perked up, she could have sworn she heard something, perhaps an animal? No, no, its still winter, all the prey would be sleeping, and if it was a larger creature, it would probably have torn my head off by now, she thought. Cresent decided to investigate, she looked and sniffed around the area and only found a few patches of grass just above the snow.
She clawed at the ground and started getting a bit paranoid, holding her tails up and trying to be more 'aware' of her surroundings, trying to get in the unknown creature's mind. If I were that creature...where would I hide...? She thought, looking up every tree that could be used to climb and hide in, under every clump of snow that looked like it could harbor someone inside.
She discovered that the creature was a wolf? Yes, a wolf! A wolf who was oddly enough, sitting on ice? Wouldn't that be a bit cold, especially for the Winter times when everything was cold? Cresent shook her head and wondered if she should approach the odd wolf. Why was the wolf here, she didn't recognize the wolf, but then again she hadn't met too many of the wolves in the pack, and hadn't even met the alpha yet.
She growled at herself, her own paranoia was battling with her want to make as many friends as possible, and her friendliness got the better of her. Cresent ran to the wolf and smiled, "Hello, are you a part of this pack? If not, are you aware your in the Children of Hvitur Ari's pack territory?" She patted the stranger's head and continued. "Well ether way, I'm Cresent, a sitter in this pack, and you are?"

Beck jumped when she heard a voice, spinning around she noticed a small wolf; the size of a pup was the one she had been following. The scent wafted over her. Where had she come from? Beck had been sure she was alone when she lay down, sure that the other wolf had left already. Did the creature just appear out of nowhere?
Shaken she listened to the creature babble. Children of Hvitur Ari? So she was close to a pack after all. Then the wolf had the audacity to touch her, Beck snapped at the wolf’s paw before jumping back. Hackles raised she pulled her lip up past fangs; drawing it tight to her gum line she let out a low snarl. “What, do you want?”
Staring at the strange wolf she narrowed her eyes. The creature was small, yet clearly full grown. It was still odd getting used to all these new types of wolves. She had only seen a few and from a distance but she had already had a taste of what sort of differences she was in for. Beck nearly fainted when she took a good look at the wolf, “you, have four tails.” She managed to stammer. Staring with wide eyes at the female she looked as if she had seen pups murdered before her eyes. What was wrong with her? Was this a nightmare? If so it was time to wake up. Sooner rather then later. Taking a deep breath she tried to steady herself. There was a perfectly rational explanation to all of this; she just needed to think it through.
She had met a stranger wolf. A wolf from a pack, being friendly would have been a good course of action but of course that ship had sailed. Beck also had to defend herself; she couldn’t let this wolf’s oddities get to her.
Who was this ‘Crescent’? This wolf with four tails, who vibrated with energy, overly friendly, completely foreign. Quite visibly she wasn’t fearful of Beck. Glaring she began to try and understand what was going on. How had she not noticed this stranger? How would she run away?

Cresent was startled when the wolf tried to snap at her paw, it wasn't like she was going to attack, that was out of her nature to attack without reason, especially at a stranger. "Well, I was just wondering what you're doing here is all. Please, don't try to nip at me, I was just going to pat you on the head is all." She smiled again, trying to ignore the previous 'attack'.
"Ah yes, I do indeed have four tails. My species is Lyxxus, and for every year this species lives, they grow another tail. I'm four years old, and thus I have four tails. Simple as that," she explained. "And I see you have quite the attitude, have you been lost or something? Why were you stalking me?" Cresent froze, she didn't mean to ask that! Of all things, the stranger would probably not want to speak at all, and no more friend potential.
Cresent wasn't the 'I hate you only because you peeve me off' kind of wolf, but she did get peeved off at times but usually doesn't keep too much of a grudge, unless the wolf in question was a murderer of course. "And I asked you for your name, did I not? May I please get your name and maybe a bit more kindness toward mine?" She grinned at the wolf and backed away a bit, her paranoia was still picking at her brain, and the wolf did try to bite at her hand...
She laughed a bit and looked around at the area, thinking of possible escape routes, in case the odd wolf did try to attack, and would manage to injure the Lyxxi. She found one at least, but it would require the smaller wolf to go right behind the stranger sitting on the ice, and it would be better to avoid more confrontation if she did get attacked.
She smiled and tried to stay positive, this stranger had no reason to attack so far, and...no, no, Cresent just didn't want to think about this anymore, it would be ridiculous and repetitive to think about this wolf attacking her anymore. She pawed at the ground and cleared out a bit of the snow to sit down on, and looked at the other wolf. "And while the topic is still on species, what are you? You don't have any wings or multiple tails or anything..."
