Altan had been back at the pack now for quite a while, though in all honesty the young lyxxus was realising his plan hadn't exactly worked all that well. For starters he hadn't counted on all these pups being present, so many of the things that the attention certainly wasn't going to be focused upon him, most of the pack didn't really care. Reynard of course was pleased, and Nocht too. He had his suspicions that his mother was happy for him to be back again as well, though he still had yet to warm up to Aurora. Nocht had apparently taken to playing happy families, good for him but Altan himself wasn't ready to. He hadn't really thought about why much, though an observer of his life might put it down to that attention thing. Some huge gesture was probably necessary, though even then what on earth could be done?
The main thing that had him down at the moment though was his position within the pack. A hunter. It was a respectable position sure, Nocht after all was one too but it was not what Altan wanted to do. He had trained to be a Guardian and all these strangers to the pack had taken his rightful place instead, what was with that? Again he secretly blamed the pups. He knew that not everyone could be a Guardian and surely the pack all expected some of Reynard's real pups to earn that rank eventually rather than the formally abandoned ones that their high chief had taken in. It was childish thinking, but it worked in Altan's head.
The male had been hunting that morning and had taken the food back to the pack to eat before heading off to eat himself. His meal had been devoured now though, the remains left behind him as he moved on again. More hunting, or a patrol even, a simple walk would do too. Even though he disliked being simply a hunter, he would admit he was damn good at it. He was quick and skillful, could move swiftly and quietly to sneak upon the unsuspecting prey. That walk was in his books at the moment though as he simple wandered finding himself walking along near the river. His path altered, heading directly for the water as he took the diversion for a quick drink.
