Dry wind whipped into the young females face as she trekked through the arid canyon. She panted slightly, not from heat, but from fatigue. It was actually pleasantly warm, if you ignored the dust laden breezes. The hybrid stood out in the open, her pale grayish pelt offered little camouflage for the red dirt of the canyon. Her brown eyes were barely open, not wanting to expose the delicate membranes to such dryness. She decided she needed a break. She had been traveling for a while. She was thin, and her pelt was slightly dull. Being a loner was not really suiting her. She needed to head back home soon to recover from her exploration. She searched for a sanctuary until the winds died down. She soon found a large boulder the had the shade in the proper place. She moved her cumbersome form to the shade and sat down. The rock was a wind break, so she was allowed to take in the scenery now that she could see. She had traveled for a few months now, wanting to get away from her pack and see what life was outside it. So far she had seen many nice places, but had not really encountered many impressionable wolves. Hunting was difficult, sleeping soundly even more so. She was hungry and tired and thirsty. Her thoughts wandered back to some of the males back at home, but her emotions were still not quite sorted. With a sigh she decided to rest her eyes. She lowered herself onto her belly and curled her thick tail around herself. She looked around nervously, hoping it was ok to rest here. She set her head on her dirty forepaws and closed her eyes. Her ears were almost constantly swiveling, every wail the wind gave, every call of a far of creature. Her few odd scales caught the sunlight now and then when a breeze ruffled her pelt. Just a few moments of rest and she would head out......she drifted into an uneasy nap.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | | The long journey back from the valley had almost reduced his old wings to almost useless but yet he did this journey often. After all the valley was his true home not this red, rocky wasteland. Draugur clambered into a small gap in the rock, the first shelter he saw, the night before. It was quite cramped but not as bad as he first expected; the ledge would be really small for most wolves but not for him thanks to his small size. It was very late, well after midnight, when he dozed off, his eyes closing almost as soon as he laid his head on his great paws. He felt nothing except for the dull ache of strained muscles around his shoulders where his great wings protruded. Then he dreamed of a great darkness. The black, unfaltering, impenetrable darkness threatening to choke it with its coldness. Then, from a pinprick-sized hole somewhere, a bright, dazzling gold light began to shine, becoming more intense with every passing second. Soon the rich warm whiteness engulfed his whole being and took hold of him for a long while. Until he no longer could bear it.
Draugur's eyes flew open and squinted instantly as a sun ray hit him squarely in the face. With an annoyed grunt he squirmed out of the gap and realised that he had slept for a long time. It must be sometime in the afternoon. He yawned and stretched, tail raised high behind him. Then he stretched his wings wide open and shook them before settling them back to his sides. That was when he realised that they did not ache as they usually did. Puzzled he turned his head around and saw something he found odd. His wing feathers weren't tattered or dull like they usually were; in fact there was a healthy glow about them and they were pure white. He shook his wings once again but this time to test this possible trickery. Nothing as far as he could see.
Puzzled he lifted his head to the air and that was when the scent hit him. It took a moment for him to recognise the scent but when he finally did, the albino keiyou froze in a spot. It's very unlikely-- no, it's impossible! Yet it's here. He wrinkled his muzzle, sniffing the air again. Yes, the scent still lingered. He shook his head, this must a work of a wolf with the power of Hallucination. Yes, yes, it would also explain his sudden healthy appearance. Draugur decided to ignore it and not to let this Hallucination wolf to overpower him. But there was still something fishy with this; he was feeling perfectly healthy, without any traces of his previous muscle and bone aches. Surely the Hallucination power couldn't influence the sensation of pains, could they? And he did not think this power would be able to create a scent out of nowhere, especially a scent that was so familiar and painful.
Draugur paused again but this time with an uneasy curiosity. Then he turned to follow the scent. Hm... it must be coming from behind that boulder. So he went there and he heard faint breathing nearby. This must be real. He retreated from the rock, uncertain with what he should do next. His daught-- Skyler was behind that rock. Soon he found himself feverishly wishing that he was under effect of the Hallucination power. But, sadly this was reality and he knew it. Everything inside him was telling him to leave her alone but at the same time everything inside him was commanding him to approach her. He was momentarily torn, then he thought about Skyler. He deserved to know about the pack, didn't he? To know about her? So he leaped into the sky before landing on the top of the boulder. The surface was unsteady and Draugur realised that if he still had his ageing weak limbs like before he would immediately fall off. Oh yes, what had happened to him, by the way? As if on cue, mutterings of the spirits started and he blocked them out swiftly. But the worries he had of himself dissolved away when he saw the grey body beneath him.
He was shocked to see how much she had grown and how thin she appeared. Upon the sight of this female, his body filled with odd grief and awe. But the deformed wing and the thick hybrid tail of hers still sickened him. It was her deformed, hybrid appearance that caused him to disown her. But that was years ago, wasn't it? No, no, of course he still disowned her but he could not explain away his feelings of grief and awe. Right, he did not want to stand on the boulder staring at the sleeping hybrid so he called out: "Skyler!" He paused for a moment to think what to say next. He did not want to appear welcoming or whatever. He was supposed to dislike her, wasn't he? "W-What are you doing here so far from home?" His tone became spiteful at the last word and he was sure that she knew why.
--- a note: Draugur has eternal youth so that's why he appears healthy

The winds were not in her favor this day, they carried her scent to the male she feared most. Her father. She had not seen him in some months, and before that years. As he crested the boulder though, his scent traveled down to her. Her ears backed in her subconscious. She never knew what she did to earn her father's ire aside from the mere fact she had been born. She was barely aware that he had something to do with the reason her mother always forgot about her. She grew up without parents, and survived off the pity of the pack that had been her home her entire life.
Now she was awakened by his voice. At first she was confused, she didn't see him anywhere, then her sad brown eyes saw the shadow of the boulder and the winged beat atop it. She started and spun around to face the male in such a flurry she kicked up dust and dirt and clouded her own nose. She coughed and blinked her watering eyes, embarrassed and ashamed that she had been taken off guard and reacted in such a spastic way.
Her heart pounded and she looked up out of the corner of her downcast and now reddening eyes. Her whole form seemed to fold into herself as she reverted back to the submissive state she had been in most her life. She was forever an omega wolf, at the bottom of the rung. How embarrassing for her alpha father....just one more thing to add onto the pile she constantly hid herself under. Her self-esteem had never been high, only one wolf had given her a reason to think well of herself.
Her ears moved enough to hear his question. However the pointed reference to home made her heart grow cold in her throat. She glanced up at him, the sun in her eyes made the light play tricks on her. Her father looked no older than she. Yet she knew he was only a few years younger than Reynard. She looked back down at her partially webbed feet. She took a deep, dry breath to answer his inquires, "I was traveling...seeing what else is out there." She tried to sound confident in her choices, but the waver in her bell-like voice was hard to cover up. She had always feared her father...he had never hurt her physically that she remembered, but he had done quite a bit of emotional damage. Yet as a daughter, she craved his approval, even though she knew she would never attain it.

His wings spread wide, the brown Keiyou's wings beat the air into submission, though his shoulders and even the muscles in his wings were aching and throbbing uncomfortably, there was nothing... He needed to stop, and seeing a rocky outcropping, he decided to descend.
Braking was something that always caused a twinge in his right wing, ever since it had been broken a few months before. It was healing, and the pain didn't incapacitate him like before, but it still stung, like a whip of ice cold into his bones. Plume of the Eagle's wings were spread up and wide, in the manner of a griffin during landing-- you could see almost the entire underside of the wing. Plume's caramel and brown patterned wings slapped the air and as he lowered, the beating slowed. He landed on the opposite side of the two wolves, but he'd been moving fast and when he landed his back legs hit first- as usual. He ran six or seven steps bipedal to loose momentum, and the drop to all fours jarred him for a moment. Shaking his head and pelt to rid himself of the dirt, the hot sun's rays overheated his pelt.
He heard voices, and a gentle breeze that played with his fur and feathers brought the scent of wolves. A male and a female, both young. He could partially see them- a pure white male, a surprising deviation from the normal dark tones. He was on the stones, and below him was the female.
Omigod... what is...that? He mentally hissed, the strange wolf awakening awe and fear. It had wings, yes, almost bat-like, with a mottled assortment of browns and grays, with pink accents. Beautiful, though one wing was somewhat deformed and her tail was thicker then that of a normal Keiyou's. The sunlight played with her pelt, warming some spots and cooling others, and he spotted strange spots in her fur, almost like scales....
The Keiyou had never, ever, ever heard of a Cael, though he knew of Keiyou, Lupus, Sennyo, and Lyxxus- though the last was more mysterious then the others. To him, hybrids didn't exist. He'd never, in the world, wondered what happened when two different wolves- a Lupus and Keiyou, for example- were crossed. In his past, that didn't happen. To him, Lupus were guardians of the Keiyous, or 'gods'. It was difficult to explain, so he didn't try.
On the off chance he saw a hybrid from afar, he dismissed them as... 'different.'
"Hey!" He called, Plume's deep and melodic voice strange in the empty, windy desert-canyon.

Creature Classification: Young Dragon Size: 16 ft wingspan, 100,000 lbs
A young dragon, freshly flegded...or rather recently booted out of his mother's nest, was on a mission to make a territory for himself. He was bold and reckless, thinking he was indestructible, well overly confident at least. Not to mention, just on the cusp of sexual maturity. He could smell a female in this territory, but the scent was faint. He was still determined to find her though. His emerald body glistened in the sun as he glided over the dry, hot canyon. Thermals made his leisurely flight easier, his massive form seemed to be held in the air effortlessly.
His reptilian gaze traced over the landscape, curious as to what this territory would yield. Soon his eyes caught a much smaller form of a winged wolf alighting to the ground. Curious he adjusted his flight pattern to investigate. He saw another winded wolf on a rock near where the first wolf landed. Then the pale colors of....was it a wolf? He had never seen a wolf like that, but it seemed to basically be the same shape. He found it odd that wolves came in such varieties.
His massive belly grumbled in hunger. He shook his horned head as if to convince himself that attacking wolves was not worth his time. They were so small and helpless....but awfully tasty, despite their small size. He angled his body to begin a rapid decent toward the wolves, he outstretched his claws as if he were a bird of prey about to pluck a rodent from the grass.
His excitement betrayed him though, he bellowed a great roar to announce his arrival and strike terror into the small things below him. Closer closer he was coming, he was going to snatch which ever one happened to meet his claws.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | | Draugur watched Skyler scramble to face her father and he saw how her grey starved body convulsed into a coughing fit. He shook his head ever so slightly, almost sympathetically as he thought: pathetic. One would not believe that this cowardly grey wolf was the daughter of the small but proud white wolf. He waited with his tail twitching, betraying his annoyance and impatience. Her? Why her? Why did she survive? Why not his other children, his healthy sons? He looked away for a moment after his gaze accidentally fell upon her deformed wing. But there was a faint amused smile on his lips: Skyler, her beautiful name was bestowed upon her with a such cruel intention behind it. The name was hers to remind her how she would never be able to fly, never to experience the true freedom that her keiyou genes must be screaming for.
Then he wondered what if he was living her life; bounded to the earth, unable to reach for the skies. He realised that he couldn't survive living that life. He knew he would kill himself immediately. An unwelcoming guilt was starting to blossom inside the small keiyou which he quickly shook it off. He did not cause her deformation, did he? Siren did; the babies were growing inside her. She should look after herself better if she wanted her children to be healthy and alive. "But you smashed her head in." His fur bristled as the familiar aged voice laughed scornfully against his ear. "She was incapable of taking care of herself. So therefore you were responsible for your sons' deaths and Skyler's disability." He heard the faint traces of cruel amusement at his realisation in the old voice.
Draugur quickly banished the old wolf from his thoughts but her words rang true. He did damage Siren's head and neglected her. But it didn't mean it was his fault that his sons were gone and Skyler had one and a half wings. Her voice brought him back into reality again and, after hearing her excuse of being here, he laughed almost cruelly. "You? Travel?" He leapt down from the boulder to stand in front of the grey wolf. "I have to say that I'm surprised to hear that." The albino keiyou started to circle her but he kept his body away from hers. It would feel wrong to touch her if he had caused her so much harm. "You were always an unadventurous omega." And still are... He looked at her. She had the same lack of confidence and nervousness around her like she had when she was younger. Nothing had changed.
He shook his head and opened his mouth to demean Skyler again when another voice interrupted him. The voice possessed some kind of musical richness which Draugur would enjoy at any other time but right now it pissed him off. He whipped his head around and saw another keiyou, a handsome brown male, standing some way away. Alarm bells went off in his head as he realised that the keiyou might have heard their conversation. His body turned around so sharply so that he faced the keiyou directly with his pink lips stretched backwards into a snarl and a growl was bubbling in his throat, threatening to escape. Then a roar split through air. He froze instinctively, confused for a moment before a shadow swept over him. Without looking up, he knew it must be a dragon, the scent and the size of the shadow betrayed that fact. His instincts overwhelmed him so he spun around to face Skyler again. But something else caught his eye. It was a cave. If they happened to hide in that cave then perhaps they would be safe.
"Skyler, move!" He screeched into her face and used his size and wings to push her towards the safety. This contact was quite rough but he thought it was necessary as there was an imminent danger circling above them. He spared no thought for the other keiyou who was standing in the open as he shoved himself and Skyler into that small cave. He blinked as sunlight faded quickly as they entered the shelter but his eyes adjusted quickly; there was a small space in the cave but just big enough for two small wolves. He stretched one of his wing, using it to block the entrance of the cave, hoping that the dragon would miss the cave mouth. He did not think about that loner outside. He did not think how uncomfortable Skyler might be feeling right now. He thought of nothing else except for his safety.

It was amazing how easily she could be rattled by her estranged father. The last three years she had tried to build up her confidence, gain abilities, learn everything she could. She had done well under the tutelage of another wolf from time to time, yet single events seemed to easily shatter the pane of glass she spent so long creating. Years to make, seconds to break. In the back of her meek mind there was a shadow of resentment that she never dreamed she had until this moment.
His words washed over her like scalding flames, threatening to melt her to her core and demolish her weak self-esteem. She had done well enough in the pack, she only left to learn things. She was only underfed because she was not fit for being a loner. He had no way of knowing that. She needed to speak out and explain things to him. Yet her words caught in her throat, and as quick as the courage had welled, it vanished at the arrival of another wolf.
Her sad brown eyes flashed toward the newcomer, his voice was pleasant, but his actions were strange. She didn't understand the confidence it took to approach strangers so easily. She found herself backing up a few steps as her father placed himself between the stranger and her. He was going to yell, she just knew it. She braced for his powerful voice, when a terrifying screech reverberated through the trio. A dragon?
She had only seen them flying over the valley, and even then it was only one in her short life. This one seemed keen on attacking them. She felt her legs turn to water with fear. She needed to flee. She turned her head, survival instincts kicking in. She vaguely saw a shallow cave not to far of. Her father saw it too. As she was turning to go for it, Draugur barreled toward her. He was going to mow her down to get to safety. She knew she was between him and the cave. When he hit her, her weakened state made it easy for him to shove her toward the opening. She stumbled and rolled for part of it, but ended up tumbling into the shall outcrop.
She cringed as her bad wing was shoved against the cold stone wall, for once she was glad of her deformity, she didn't have to worry about the size or fragility getting in the way. She felt the alarming strength of her father against her as he pushed his way in. There was only room for the two of them it seemed. She barely managed to right herself so her belly was down. Her body was tense at the touch of her father. When was the last time he had even touched her? Had he ever so much as brushed against her in her life? It could have been the adrenaline taking over, but her memory could not recall any event when Draugur had done such a thing.
She blinked as darkness suddenly overtook them. She was confused, until she looked over her father's neck. She could see cracks of light where his white feathers separated. She took a moment to marvel at the construction of the wing. She glanced at her own leathery one, the most she could see was veins and blood vessels whenever her wing was up to the sun. She swallowed hard and tried to listen to what was going on.

There's always a part of you that, no matter how much you know what you're doing is wrong, or ignorant, or hurtful, or just plain stupid, justifies it. Like, when you're faced with a one hundred thousand pound dragon, intent on giving you a fiery doom and flossing its teeth with your eyeballs, and you think, 'Hell, I can take him on.'
Yes, well, that part of you, I'm just saying, is an idiot, and there's no other word for it. And I shall tell how Plume was acting just then, as all of this went down: like an idiot. He sensed the male wolf's distaste for him, but did he care? No, of course not, because that wolf was so damn ignorant of Plume and his background and the fact that, should they have a battle, Plume was confident he'd win. Why? Because he saw the way the male was treating the female, and the female- no matter how cub-like and weak she was- would encourage him or help him or something. He was sure of it.
The albino- Plume could see from his eyes- shoved the wierd, scaly she-wolf into the den, blocking Plume from getting in. But he didn't care, because it was all happening. Too fast, to violent, to abrupt to be conquered or quelled. The roar of the dragon set Plume's teeth on edge, his wings arched and grew tense, the feathers tightening with anger. Plume's blood boiled and frothed and rage enveloped him, his lips pulling back and his head flying back, howling out with a scream of rage and grief and revenge.
This dragon's blood was going to be coating Plume's paws if he didn't get his scrawny, scaly hide out of here. It was almost like lightening, the strike so fast you can't see it, but the effects loud and prominent like thunder. The change came over Plume fast, he lunged forward, racing a few feet before curling in on himself and turning towards the dragon, his own roar of fury and intent on his lips.
His arched wings extended like a whip, his tail cracking in a sinuous motion, the snap of both audible as the muscles grew taut. Rearing back, the now-foolhardy Keiyou erupted into the air in a whirl of fur, feathers, dust, and shrieks; his fangs glistening and claws grasping as he flew towards the dragon, ignorant of the fact he would probably end up loosing a limb or something like that.
All that his world consisted of, just then, was his fury, the dragon, and the air. ((Sorry, this post is a fail. DX))

(( You do realize that your keiyou is 65 lbs right? That is .065 % of the dragon. Even at terminal velocity, it is unlikely that they keiyou can harm the dragon, let alone break the skin. The kieyou would break at that speed before the dragon would even flinch. Just letting you know, the physics is against your character.))
Curses. Maybe he should not have bellowed. Two of the wolves dove out of his reach. He hissed his displeasure and adjusted his trajectory. His golden eyes gleamed when he noticed the third wolf take flight. Was dinner being delivered? That was a welcome thought, less work for the dragon. He turned his body to keep himself in the air. The keiyou was coming at him quickly, like a fly toward a windshield. The sun was warm on his back, but the reflection of the canyon floor was causing a glare to hit his eyes.
He slowed his flight in an attempt to intercept the wolf. He opened his 16 foot wings span and hovered for a moment in the air, glaring at the snack coming his way. The wolf was hollering, or howling, or whatever it was that wolves did. He really never really paid attention to them unless he wanted to try to eat them. The dragon waited till the wolf was close and then slashed out at him to attempt to knock him out of the sky. His long tail lashed as he kept his altitude, he would have to flap his wings soon to keep himself in that air, but first he wanted to play catch......

[scrolly:h(455), w(340),sy] Up high in the sky was a beautiful black iridescent dragon. Right now she was flying towards what she kinda called her home. She had grown older the last couple of years and had gained about 200 pounds and a bit of length as well. Her body had needed to travel so that she could learn some more things but now she was heading back to the pack she had called her own. She looked down as she heard a bellow of another dragon. Raising her brow she snorted slightly to herself and she slowly spiraled down. She was getting closer to her pack and if another dragon was in the area well then it would have another thing coming to it.
Ardent let out her own bellow, hovering about the dragon and looking down at the keiyou wolf that was starting to attack the younger dragon. Really? Seriously? Was this wolf stupid? She had met a few idiotic creatures in her travels but this one had to take the cake. Fighting with others would have been smart, fighting alone not so much. She snorted to herself, letting some of her extremely hot fire come out of her nostrils. "Young one, I suggest you vacate before i make you."
A growl sounded as she darted in front of the dragon and the keiyou. She had seen the slash and hoped the keiyou was okay but right now she was getting pissed. Seemed she would have to live up to her nickname with the dragons and other creatures. The Firebreather she was and for a good reason. When one made her mad her silver fire caused them to go boom. At least in her head she thought of it as a boom since it made them run. She had yet to meet another dragon that could breath silver fire. Her body rumbled as she looked at the young dragon a evil smile appearing on her maw. She hadn't had a good fight in years and why not start it now? She had a feeling the young one would not leave and she would make him. Now she just had to wait for him to come at her. [/scrolly]

Ooc ;; Cypress gave the green light to reply, as it seems I might have more to contribute for the moment, considering they are in a den and mine's attacking a dragon.
There was seriously something wrong in Plume’s brain right now. I mean, he knew the size of the dragon alone was daunting… but then he realized that it’s wing was ten feet longer then his entire wingspan… And it kind of clicked. The fact of the dragon’s intent on killing Plume made him wonder if he had a death wish, and this sparked the thought, dousing the fire of his thoughts in ice-cold water. The tail whistled towards him, and he barrel-rolled to avoid its clumsy aim. It had missed due to its attempt to keep itself in the air and knock him flying at the same time.
Oh crap, what am I doing? He yelled in his mind, braking rapidly with wings outstretched. He was flying right into the devil’s maw, so to speak, as the dragon waited patiently to devour him. This was one of the stupidest things he’d done to date, really, and there were some pretty stupid things he’d done. A list, in fact. Something like… twenty things in the past three days alone—including attempting to kill an nesting Averra female, and then trying to see if a unicorn was on the menu.
Apparently, he learned, it was not. And they did not take kindly to a wolf handing them the platter and asking for a haunch.
Plume wheeled in the air, using his momentum to circle and scope out the skies, putting a damper on the attack for a moment. Then, in another sheer moment of idiocy, he decided to attempt a loop-de-loop in front of the dragon, to show off. Flying again towards it at a much slower speed, he braked yet again when he saw something else—another dragon. A female and one that appeared to be at odds with the green male before Plume. It roared something, and then roared again, a smile—or a gruesome grimace—appeared on its face, twisting it into strange things. For a moment, he feared that he would get killed by the pair, but then the female turned on the male, its intent to drive the green beast from its land.
“Thank you miss!” He shouted briefly, hoping that the female wouldn’t turn on him, and darted off, leaving the dragons to their fight. He alighted on the crest of the rocky den; frantically searching for a place to hide when the hunger winner came looking for a snack. Seeing nothing, he opened his wings and scrambled down to the entrance, the white wolf’s wing was blocking it, though, and Plume grew irritated. What did this wolf think he was doing? He didn’t own this place! With a growl, Plume shoved his head at the wolf’s wing and body, attempting to muscle his way in.
“Move your wings, wolf!” He shouted, a growl building up in him.

The dragon hissed as the keiyou evaded his claws. It was doing something annoying, swooping around his head. He snapped at the air behind the wolf now and then. His massive jaws clapping with the mechanical sound that promised threat and misfortune to whatever was unlucky enough to be between the jaws. Smoke was beginning to curl out of his nostrils, he was still young but he could manage some sort of flame, it just took some build up.
His serpentine head swiveled around suddenly as he heard the great beat of wings coming behind him. He flapped his own a few times to regain some altitude, he did a half roll so he was on his back looking up at the dragoness above him. She was blocking part of the sun, so he had to look though partially narrowed eyes to take in her form. She was larger than he expected, but testosterone was something that most males used to full their actions. Her threat made a growling chuckle come out of his maw. "But baby...I came here looking for you. Let me just grab this snack and I will give it to you as a token of my intentions."
He was a little dense in the sense it was unclear to him that she was most likely unreceptive to suitors at this time. He was a young make fresh on his own. He felt like he could do anything, including courting this female. He did notice her aggressive stance, but he came up to her level more maintaining a decent distance. He didn't take the hint, instead he decided to press his luck. "Come on....don't be that way." A cocky smirk crossed his green maw. He gave another powerful beat of his wings and forced himself to be over her, looking down at the dark female. He tried his best to stretch out his wings, and flex his neck in attempts to look more impressive for her. His green scaled body glinted in the sun as he postured for her.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | | In the cave, Draugur did not dare to move, not even a little bit, in case his movements would move his wing, betraying his location. He crouched awkwardly in the darkness with a wing stretching away from his body and another folded neatly at his side. What should he do now? His ears strained to hear any information outside; what happened to that keiyou, had he been eaten? Several moments passed until he realised that he wasn't alone. Panic and adrenaline must had forced Skyler out of his mind but now he remembered, he saw the small grey form huddling as far from him as possible. "Skyler?!" His voice betrayed his confusion. He dared to shake his head to make sense of all this. "You shouldn't be here." Either in the canyon or in this cave it didn't matter; Draugur meant both way. Skyler really shouldn't trespass the Cadre's territory. Granted now that the pack was gone, and their scents were washed away from the flood but the canyon was still their territory. They will come back, he knew it.
He froze as he realised how close he was to his daughter. There was no single moment in the past when he was this close, close enough to touch her. Not even when she was a pup; that was Siren's responsibility. There was an awkward feeling that was radiating from both the father and his daughter in the air. Draugur did not like this, he was used with controlling the situation so, with an event with a hungry dragon that had two wolves enclosed in a small cave, he didn't like this. The keiyou twitched his ears, waiting for the keiyou to be eaten and then the dragon would leave. It was then when he could leave this... this awkward cave. Draugur's tail twitched as this silence began to suffocate him. This sensation forced the sound to form in his voice: "Skyler," He stopped for a moment before rest of the sentence burst out of his lips, "do you have anyone waiting for you?"
He looked away abruptly as if he had never said anything. Why did he said that? He didn't care about her, he only wanted to break the silence that was enveloping them but why these words? "Maybe it is because you care about her?" No, he knew it wasn't this and he told this to the spirit who suggested this. Draugur only needed to look at Skyler to know he felt nothing for her, except for regret he must have harbouring for Siren. "I meant... why else would you leave the pack to wander?" Great cover up, he reassured himself. He didn't want to raise Skyler's hope, supposing she had any.
Suddenly he felt a rough nudge, dislodging his wing's protective veil. Draugur reacted fast and harshly to this; he dashed over to the hole to block it with his flank and spat at the intruding keiyou, "Go away and get yourself eaten. Or, if you don't want that option, get yourself another hiding place." He scoffed and braced himself for another shove. The albino keiyou was small but he was stronger than he looked so he guessed he could withstand the intruder's admirable strength.

Skyler was quite surprised when her father acted as if he was just now aware of her presence. She shifted uneasily, trying hard not to touch her father, despite how close they were. There was no room for them to move. Her ears were pinned tightly to her head. She could hear the bellows of the dragon above them. Was the other keiyou in danger? Being a soft hearted wolf, she hoped that he was alright, even if Draugur didn't seem to care.
Speaking of which, she looked back at her father. Feeling his spite rolling over her. Why did he hate her so much? She was deformed, she was a hybrid....but she had never done anything to slight him had she? Aside being overly submissive. Maybe that was it? The daughter of an alpha, at the lowest rank in the pack just for being a push over. Not today though. Perhaps it was the adrenaline, but at his words she felt a response welling in her throat. "You pushed me in here." Her voice was still soft, but not as tremulous as it had been previously. She felt a heat rising across the back of her neck.
Perhaps is was the pressure of the situation. She was trapped, with her back to a wall, and there was no room to fall to a submissive posture. So for once, she kept her ground. His next question gave her pause though. Waiting for me? She had not really thought of things that way. She puzzled over it though, her answer timid and uncertain again, "I...I'm not sure. I didn't tell anyone, I just left. After...." She realized then the reason she left. Yueh and her had mated, she had been so confused and uncertain about it. Then Draugur showed up at the meeting a few days later. She was still upset about the night with Yueh when she saw her father again, but the sheer emotion of seeing him again was the reason she decided to take a journey.
She felt on the spot again, she swallowed hard and gave her father a look of what could only be called resolve. She didn't need him to bully answers out of her. He had left her to die...her heart pattered quickly against her chest. "I left to get...to get away from...everything. To learn what it was like outside the packlands...." She shifted uneasily and kept talking. "I was planning on heading back after visiting the canyon....to meet the Cadre." She had failed in meeting anyone from the Cadre, but she had decided to start heading home today. How odd it was that she ran into her father so far from home.
Her resolve quickly dissipated as she was surprised by a voice and shadow on the other side of her sire's wing. Her ears perked forward to listen. It was the other keiyou. Did he want in? She looked around, there was barely room for two wolves, adding another would most likely be uncomfortable, if not suffocating for the estranged family members. Her father was quick to snap a refusal at the stranger. It sent a pang through Skyler to turn him away, especially in such a dangerous area.
However the roars above seemed louder now. Were there two dragons up there? The idea made her freeze. She tried to peer through the primary feathers of her father's great wing to see the drama in the sky. Terrifying and awe inspiring at the same time.

[scrolly:h(455), w(340),sy] Ardents inner ear twitched as she heard the wolf. "You will be fine wolves. Stay under cover." Her voice spoke in the wolf language before she turned back to the male that was pissing her off. Her wings flapped, holding her in place above the male as he spoke. A dragonic brow rose as he spoke. Seriously? Was this little male that stupid? Yes she was looking for a mate but for starters you needed to be a seasoned warrior. Not a hatchling just out of the nest.
"You will not go near these wolves. This is my territory and I suggest you leave." She growled a bit of the silver flame licking her maw as she looked at him. Her eyes followed the male as he flew above her, causing her to go down more towards land before looking back up from him. She snorted again as he spoke to her. "If you where looking for me then you would know that I protect the wolves, the things you call your snack. Now you have two options." She smiled as she back winged till she landed near the den but far enough away that if something should happen she wouldn't topple onto it.
Her orbs looked up at the male, the colors swirling to show her displeasure. "Option one, You leave and never come back. Option two you become stupid, attack me and i protect these wolves and drive you out with your tail between your legs. Or whats left of it after i get done with you." She smirked up at the dragon. "Come on pretty boy. I haven't had a good fight in awhile, show me a little pleasure before you run." She grinned evilly as she looked up at the male. Oh yes she wanted a fight. Mostly she wanted to fight because she did not do well with those that would harm those she cares about. [/scrolly]
