Plume felt the wing give way under his blow, and he cast a glance back to make sure the dragon’s weren’t following, but as he flicked his eyes back, the white albino stood in his way, barring passage. The male snarled rudely about ‘leaving and getting eaten,’ but Plume paid little attention. He snorted and rolled his eyes, but the wolf barred his passage again with a turn and presentation of his rump.
Growling in anger, Plume spat. He opened his wings, the wingspan shielding the dragon’s eyes for what happened next, concealing his next words and seeming to make the dragon’s roars silent and muted, as if they never existed. The light gleamed through his wings, the opacity of the feathers and bones making a beautiful, intricate pattern, the caramel and brown seeming to dance as a breath of wind disturbed his body. His eyes blazed with a curious painful sorrow within him, an anger burning and masking his sudden slip up of emotion. His tail rose, Plume leaned forward until his nose was flush with the beast’s rear, and then he took a step forward, his words oddly flat, but containing a hint of a growl.
“Move, albino creature, there is space if you know what to do with it. I will stand partially out here if need be, but one way or another, I’m getting in this halfway-den, so help me Great Spirit,” Plume responded, his voice darker and deeper then shadows at midnight. They sounded oddly flat and threatening, coming from his blank face, the only emotion in his eyes. “And if you haven’t noticed, wolf, there are very few spots I can get into with getting eaten first.”

His own eyes flashed for a moment as he heard the female before him gutter strange noises toward the wolves. She could speak wolf? The very thought of that disgusted him. He flapped again, his scales glinting in the sun. He snarled his displeasure at the old hag before him, "You actually TALK to them? That's repulsive!" The steam was coming from his nostrils now. His tail lashed in anger. He glanced down at the area where the wolves disappeared. He grinned evilly as he say the stupid one trying to force himself in a hole that was too small.
He looked back at the other dragon, eyes narrowing as she rattled on atop her high horse. He hissed smoke from his partially gaped maw. "I don't bother to learn about a female second-handed. Rather met her in person. Talking to food is stupid, but I won't let it get in the way of mating." He soared above her head and circled slowly to come under her as he did a cursory sniff to see if she was in season. He quickly moved out from under her and flipped back over to glare down at the wolves.
He didn't like being given ultimatums. His testosterone was high and he wanted to play a different game then fighting over food. Perhaps he could press his luck to get what he wanted. "How about option three? I leave the morsels alone and get my way with you." Crude and unpolished, the young buck flipped and flew lower as if he were going to attack the wolves. His approach was not an attack decent, but the fire was rising in his belly. He glanced over his shoulder and began to circle the spot where the wolves where. He displayed for the female many yards above them, but close enough that he could turn his head and burn the area below him.
He didn't think that she would try to attack him so perilously close to her precious mammals. But then again, he needed to learn things the hard way. Life was not as easy as he had painted it in his head. And provoking an older more powerful dragon was one way to get a slap in the face with the spiky tail of reality.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | | This situation was really awkward for both him and Skyler, Draugur was sure, but what else could they do? Stand outside and get themselves eaten like that silly keiyou outside? No, that was the last option both of the wolves had right now. And what Draugur had just said had added more awkwardness to the cave. Now he thought he would prefer to wallow in the acid of the dragon's stomach than being here but several snarls outside quickly changed his mind. He narrowed his eyes at Skyler when she broke off after the word "after". So something must had happened to prompt her into making this decision. But then perhaps nothing had happened; her travelling might have resulted from a hasty decision, a strong urge to explore, perhaps? But her face told him otherwise before she hardened her gaze. This was when Draugur laughed.
"Finally, you've grown a backbone then!" Despite his evident amusement, Draugur was displeased that his daughter had stood up to him. Didn't he deserve some respect, especially from his own daughter? He gathered all of his disgust into this sentence; "The Cadre? Oh, there was a flash flood and there was no pack here left." His eyes shone with cruel humour; "They all are dead. It was unfortunate. Bodies everywhere. Horrible." He tossed his head as if dismissing the matter but he kept his red eyes on the female, watching her reaction. His eyes betrayed nothing of his twisted humour but his smile, however, was curled up at both corners, indicating that this was a joke. The albino keiyou waited for a long moment before snorting: "No. They're safe and well with the Enclave... You might know them as the Knights. They've changed, you know?" His tone was almost patronising, it was like the keiyou was talking to a young child or an elder with most of her memories gone.
Another voice interrupted Draugur again and, as a reply, he hissed at the other keiyou outside. "Oh, just piss off. I have better things to do than arguing with you--" He broke off as if he was about to say something. For some reason, Draugur's mood darkened and his humour got more twisted. It was probably because of him wanting to banish all of the stress in the air, or he was feeling a bit vicious after having Skyler standing up to him. His voice fell when he started to speak to the brown wolf outside. The tone was tiny and wary as if he was careful with his words and with whoever that might be listening. "It's not a good idea to come here, it's quite tiny..." He paused for a moment, flashing a glance at Skyler. "And this girl. Her bite is worse than her bark." He pursed his lips together and shook his head; "I'd think that you'll be better off inside the dragon than being here with her." His voice fell to a whisper at the last word. "Still want to come here?"

She shuddered a little as she heard a bellowing above them.....was one of the dragons speaking in wolf? It was hard to tell, given that she was hidden away under the ground. To her all that she heard above them was the sounds of bellowing dragons. Maybe it was a territory dispute at this point. She hoped that the dragons would distract themselves with each other and forget about the wolves below. However, the shadow that soon enveloped the mouth of the cave, snuffing out the few rays of light that helped her to see the other keiyou outside. One of the dragons was right above them... she found herself straining to hear what was happening.
Her brown eyes were pulled from the mouth again toward her father. He was mocking her. She could hear the disgust in his voice, and she found it agonizing and infuriating at the same time. Perhaps deep down beneath her meekness, she had some of her father's darkness. His mocking tone made her even more tense. She could feel her shoulders aching with the tightness. She was alarmed by his response about the Cadre. All gone? Did Reynard know that? Her expression changed to concern. She suddenly felt the need to go home and inform her alpha of the situation in the canyon. However, her father's smile pulled her back. Was he lying? Her question was answered by his next response.
The Cadre was safe with the Enclave. That was good. The three way alliance seemed to be working out well. She found her face harden slightly at the condescending tone her father took about the Enclave changing. He was treating her like a child. She was finding it irritating. She was a wolf grown and able to care for herself. She found her lip involuntarily curl in response to the spite her father spat at her. He commanded respect from her, yet he had done nothing to deserve it. She hardly felt that spilling a seed into her mother was worthy of respect, especially since he clearly had wanted nothing to do with her.
The voice of the other keiyou was enough to make her lip return to normal, though she found her hackles still bristling due to the verbal abuse she was receiving. It seemed that the other wolf was going to attempt to force his way into the cave. She hardly felt that conducive to their survival. Having a hole with half a keiyou hanging out was more like to draw attention than to take away from it. Her father's lashing words seemed to speak his and her mind alike, though she was almost ashamed to admit that she felt the same.
However she could see the darkness cross over her father's face. He lashed out again at her, slandering her and attempting to muddy her name. Not that this wolf would know her. Finally she snapped, she could not take the abuse and she actually growled at her father, "I am NOT a child! I know who my pack's allies are." She put emphasis on the pronoun, as if to throw it in his face that he was no longer a part of the Children. " Why are you so cruel? What did I EVER do to you!? Yes, I'm a hybrid. Yes I'm deformed. But I had NOTHING to do with my creation." Her tone dropped, "You did." She glared at her father, a strange look on her usually kind face. "You took a cael to mate. You impregnated her. You abandoned us to do who knows what. I'm your only surviving offspring, Draugur. And you think it is MY fault?" Her tone was accusatory and pointed.
As soon as she had spilled her innermost thoughts she felt a certain dread overcome her. However, she did her best to mask the emotion behind a stony visage. Her thick tail lashed back and forth as she tries to dissipate the built of energy and tension, the few scales scrapped against the dusty stone. She had forgotten all about the male outside. Maybe her father was right, maybe he was better off out there than in here with an unstable female trying to stand up to her father.
