"Speaking" Valkyire soared above the plains, a sleek black form demonstrating killer grace in the skies as his body moved silently on the warm winds, his ebony black feathers ruffled by the breeze. The day was a lazy one, the sky cast in a pale blue, the raw umber of the plain reflected in its peaceful depths as soft downy white clouds were speckled upon the horizon. The gentle breezed rocked the fruit trees below him as the grass moved to and fro at a leisurely pace. Handsome and striking in an aristocrat manner, the Cadre`s gamma`s gaze was pensive and serious, his eyes drifting across the land but not really seeing it. The downy white fur that encircled his neck was ruffled by the air and his gray eyes seemed to match the softness of the colorless pastel land. If only to be considered harsh and unyielding in brighter coloured territories, today they seemed almost gentle as the soldier mused.
Dipping the edge of a wing he moved towards the ground, long black lion tail dipped in the same shade of white that encircled his neck. The keiyou had left the Enclave land early in the morning, seeking a quiet place in which he could find shelter and solace within his own company and the winds had carried him to the plains where the sun had warmed his cold pelt and the breeze had rocked him like a pup in his mother`s embrace. Settling upon the ground he gave his wings a quick stretch, his unusually large wingspan unfolding to reach to the sky as he arched his back and yawned. He had not seen Sandra in quite some time, and found himself aching to see her beautiful eyes once more. It was said that absence made the heart grow fonder, and so he was finding this statement to be true. With every passing day he grew more morose and withdrawn, flying over the land just to try and catch a glimpse of her through the clouds; but to no avail.
Disheartened and for the first time in his life wishing for another`s company, the keiyou had needed to seek reprieve and council elsewhere where the scents of a pack would not impede on his cold clear logic. He knew now that he had no choice in the affairs of the heart, and though he still did not understand how such things functioned, he knew without and beyond a doubt that his love for Sandra was in fact real. Who knew that the male that had sought out a female who would be subservient to him, see to his needs and that of the pups while following his directions, would in fact find himself caring for one of the exact opposite calibre? Certainly not Valkyrie, though the fact remained he could not live without her, sure he could function and uphold his duties, but he was not really living as such.
Frowning as he paced, Valkyrie wondered with discontent when he had become such a fool hearted male. If any enemies from his past ever came back, all they would have to do would be strike at Sandra to destroy him, it not only left himself very vulnerable, but Sandra as well. Cursing vehemently he glowered at the sky, narrow snout parted in a defiant grimace of distemper. Valkyrie knew that the other gamma would dismiss his concerns affirming that she could take charge of herself, but the male knew that even the strongest could fall and could he risk that happening to the one female whom had come to represent so much to him? Shaking his head bitterly he supposed that in all due conscious he could not, she deserved better anyway.
Frustrated and torn up inside he placed one paw upon a fallen fruit, watching the juice flow in between his claws as he pierced the tender flesh without mercy. It felt as though something had his heart in a similar vice, and the militant wolf was left, and for the first time in his life, unsure of what path to take. One might lead to the death of the one he cared deeply for, while the other would lead to the eventual death of his own spirit, which was worse? Despite appearing to be a cold and relentless bastard, Valkyrie did have a kindred desire to place others above himself, why else would he choose a life of fighting for what he believed in? And so he could never choose to know true happiness if it meant putting the one he loved in danger. This time he simply did not want to weild to the answer, and it left him torn up inside.

rylee . mckay "If you'll be my star, I'll be your sky You can hide underneath me when you come out at night When I turn jet black and you show off your light I live to let you shine." "Here comes goodbye Here comes th' last time Here comes th' start of every sleepless night Th' first of every tear I'm gonna cry..."
The sweet melody was dull against the calm day, her amber eyes on the ground. Rylee had been walking across the land, coming upon the plains. She had been singing for a while now to keep her mind at bay, taking a liking to the gentle sounds of depression and sadness. She hated feeling so alone, though with all the time she spent alone, it was a little hard to ignore. her mind continued to reel back to her past, as it often did. It always caused her heart-ache. Stopping and lifting her amber eyes, she finished the verse in a quieter tone.
"Here comes th' pain Here comes me wishin' things had neva changed And he was right here in mah arms t'night, but here comes goodbye..."
She sighed she shook her horned head, her one floppy ear gently slapping her cheek. She lowered herself down into a stretch. It had been a long day already. Her paws were beginning to ache and begging for rest, but she didn't want to stop. She felt like she couldn't. She had no where to go to, no where to look back upon. All that she could do was keep walking, so that's what she did.
It was another mile or two before she halted again. Now, she had stumbled upon an orchard. She gazed up at the sky sadly. "What else yah got in'stored for meh?" She stood like that for a few moments, closing her eyes and letting the gentle breeze caress her fur. It felt nice and gave a little ease to her tense muscles. As she lowered her head and opened her eyes, she instantly saw the black fur against the warm-colored background. Her muscles returned to their tensed position as she quickly scented the air. It was a male, sporting a pair of magnificent wings. He also had a few scents from other wolves. She assumed he belonged to a pack. She couldn't see his expression, but he was walking back and forth strangely. She took a couple steps further before she noticed he was actually pacing, and had a rather displeased look on his face. Her docked tail flicked, watching him crush the fruit. He seemed to be looking at the fruit very seriously, deep in thought. Rylee was a sucker for any wolf that seemed in any kind of peril, in any distress. She huffed quietly to herself as she decided what to do. "He hasn't seen meh... I could leave withou' him noticin'..." She tossed the ideas back and forth, though the voice in her head got the better of her.
Sighing again, she slowly approached the wolf. Upon further inspection, she could see he was taller than her. Yagi were often the biggest wolves, but she was smallf or a Yagi. She kept her amber eyes on him, studying his moves, ready to flee with her lithe body if it was needed. She knew it wouldn't matter, though, because he could probably catch up to her with those wings. She tossed her head slightly, the horns on her head probably her last resort. Her thoughts of her sadness left her mind for the moment.
"I'm sure that fruit had done nothin' t' yah..." She murmured softly, her tone neither friendly or threatening; though she couldn't keep her un-needed worry from it. It was just a simple comment. Rylee was fond of fruit, as it was one of the things she could actually eat. She wasn't much of a hunter.
"But you can skyrocket away from me Never come back if you find another galaxy Far from here, with more room to fly Just leave me your stardust to remember you by..."

"Speaking" Growling lowly in frustration, the Cadre`s Gamma proceeded to completely crush to fruit and toss it aside, a discarded waste of no more value. Valkyrie managed not to jump out of his skin, if only by the tail end of a miracle, when the female`s voice reached his pointed ears. Normally prone to being pin pointedly astute and observant, he was not one to allow himself to be taken by surprise and yet this voice had managed to creep up without his notice. It was no wonder really; his mind was terribly afflicted with intense thoughts that would eventually change not only his own future but that of the one he cherished. Whipping around in an elegant swish of his wings, the keiyou was a rather distinguished vision to behold, tall and lithe with narrow shoulders and a body that was but covered in the most taunt muscles akin the needs of flight. His narrow maw now turned to face the one that had addressed him, his harsh eyes loss some of their ponder and hardened once more into cold steel as he assessed the wolf before him.
Twas a yagi, of that there was no doubt, but it was probably the smallest most odd looking one he had yet to lay his eyes upon. Standing considerably shorter than himself, and yet no doubt weighing well over double, the wolf had but little sabres and horns to show for its proud heritage. Either way she did not seem to be posing a threat to him, her voice had been without aggression and either way he could easily take flight and evade as need be. Her amber eyes seemed to regard him in a similar fashion, though why she might pause to address remained a matter to be comprehended. He gave the discarded mauled fruit a cursory and slightly confused glance, as though uncertain how it had gotten there in the first place and then redirected his gaze back at the female. Defending a fruit, he thought, something Sandra might do...
Raising a brow he responded, his voice smooth and deep toned, “It has lived its time, nothing was loss and the insect will feed off it now. Does this distress you?” He inquired the last out of stark curiosity, for what being might mourn the death of a fruit? Valkyrie`s long tail swished back and forth imperiously, this wolf did not smell like a pack wolf, was it a rogue or a mere loner? These were questions that the Gamma would find an answer to in due time, however for now he kept his inquiries silent and to himself. The wind came to tousle the scruff of his neck, a calming presence to the male and he relaxed slightly, it would do not good to have undue tension within his body."What brings you to the plains miss if I may inquire?” He said politely enough, not wishing to seem overly unfriendly, some manners seemed in order, after all he had been taught to give respect and so experience and training dictate that he show as much to this wolf.

rylee . mckay "If you'll be my star, I'll be your sky You can hide underneath me when you come out at night When I turn jet black and you show off your light I live to let you shine." The male seemed startled when she spoke to him. She lowered her ears and looked at him in silent apology before retaining her stance, still watching him careful. Indeed, she was shorter than him, though her double-weight resided within the powerful muscles of her Yagi heritage; and yet, it might seem quite odd to see a Yagi use their stamina rather than their strength. Rylee was surely an exception to her species.
She studied him further while he looked at her. He was quite a sight. His body was toned, he had those beautiful wings, and his eyes were that of pale, icey blue. Rylee had to admit they were mesmertising to look into.
The female caught herself staring and shook her head, ears perking as he asked if the fruit distressed her. She glanced at the collapsed fruit, blinking at it while she thought. She hardly felt distress towards it, it was just fruit, right? Though, she couldn't help but feel a bit off for using the fruit for one's frustration.
"I s'pose not... But, yah shouldn't take yah frustration out on uh defenseless fruit..." She responded, returning her gaze to him. She knew it was a pointless topic, but she was still concerned about his uneasy and troubled domeanor. She couldn't help feeling that way, even towards a stranger. It was in her nature.
His question made her ears twitch. What did bring her here? She had thought about it before. Sadness, betrayal, banishment... They were all things that had made her keep walking. No home, no destination. She narrowed her eyes and shuffled her paws uneasily. She felt her depression come back into her heart, though she wouldn't let it show. At least not completely. Her amber eyes became hard, staring at her paws now.
"... It don't matter what brings me here." She said clearly, her voice holding a slight edge as she tried to push the thoughts into the back of her head. She realized her sudden change and looked at him apologetically again. She tried easing her tense muscles. "I mean... I'm just uh wanderer. No where tah look back on, no where tah look forward to." She offered a smile, even though it was mostly fake. Her eyes had returned to normal by now and she seemed just like she had moments before her little intervention. She was very good at hiding such emotions, even if she did accidentally let it surface sometimes.
Her paws were beginning to ache again, along with the pain in her chest. Seeing no intent for harm in his polite tone or stance, she lowered her rear into a sitting position, allowing some rest for her tired paws. She honestly wanted to leave the male alone and be on her own again, but at the same time it felt comforting to even simply have another being next to her.
She cleared her throat and looked at him expectingly. "... Yah have other wolves' on yah. Is there a pack 'round here?" She asked, attempting to change the subject.
"But you can skyrocket away from me Never come back if you find another galaxy Far from here, with more room to fly Just leave me your stardust to remember you by..."

"Speaking" Valkyrie could not supress the small and barely audible chuckle, terse in nature, for before meeting Sandra he would have pushed the matter about the fruit until he had proven himself to be right. However his comment was more teasing that anything even though he had not given any indication of this to the yagi. With a slight shrug of his angular shoulders he simply gave the female a tense smile, letting her know in no short words that the matter was futile and best left at that. With a flick of his tail he swatted at a pesky fly, wishing he could banish his own issues in a similar manner. It was a tall order dealing with his conscience and his heart, and like a court being held Valkyrie had to not only play the offense and defense, but also serve as judge and jury. The general consensus was that he could neither live with her, nor without her and this created chaos and disorder within him, exactly what he despised with every fiber of his being.
The soldier at heart noticed a subtle change in the yagi once he presented her with his question, perhaps he was not the only one with a rather tormenting issue at hand? True, perhaps it could be said it did not matter why either of them were there, however it always presented an interesting discussion though that was really moot the point. He had yet to visit the plains himself, and usually his flight pattern was regimented and with purpose, often served to patrol the border of the canyon on hourly rotations, but with his pack`s home flooded, he was left rather stranded and without strict direction in his movement. The taiga was not a territory he was familiar with, though through his perusal of it he had come to an understanding of what type of climate he was facing.
Frankly it was a cold territory, not his personal preference for the keiyou enjoyed a harsh sun beating down on his black wings and a dry warm breeze carrying him into the abyss of a stark blue sky. Valkyrie enjoyed the heavy warmth of the canyon, the stark land, the tall cliffs, and towering waterfall, the red earth and the cool caverns and had accustomed himself to this land to the point that he had found that for once in his life he was content remaining in one area. However the flash flood had destroyed this ordered calm routine he had set for himself, disrupted his routine flights, his regular meal hours, his set sleeping area and only added to the chaotic noise in his head. Plain and simple the male was out of his element and had sought out the plains for the heat and colors within them had most resembled that of the canyon, short of a trip to the desert.
Valkyrie nodded his head understandingly, indicating he comprehended the yagi`s plight keenly enough to offer an empathetic response in his own fashion. His calm and solid voice spoke up, "Well tis said we find we seek the most from our wanderings, may you have the good grace of finding what you may seek in your own.” He moved to settle under the comfort of a fruit tree`s shadow, rays of dull sunlight piercing through the foliage to fall upon his back. The ground was soft and warmed by the sunlight and he gracefully folded his wings in, his tail coming to rest alongside his sleek body, the white feathers at the tip flicking absent mindedly. Sighing with longing he answered her question, “There was a pack within the canyon walls, however a flash flood has driven us out and into the company of another pack. I am Valkyrie, Gamma adjacent to Sandra of the Styrrstdar Cadre under the command of Rhiannon. I can only assume you yourself are a loner?” He said his name and rank with a distinguished no nonsense pride, for if there was one thing that remained consistent it was his chosen duty to the pack that he willingly and faithfully served.
He had never been what one might define as a Rogue, and invested in only small bouts of loner status between packs in his life, and it suited him fine to serve a purpose he deemed just as such that he felt required to be part of a pack to fulfill this errand. Certainly he understood other`s desires to remain rogue and independent, there was no question of understanding, however he himself did not find the life complementary to his nature. Loners were those in between, searching and trying to find what their purpose was and Rogues were those that had found it and wandered with distinct purpose, having decided with confidence that the life of loneliness suited their own paths. As far as the Gamma could interpret it, that was the border defining the pair of roles. Any Rogues he had met seemed entirely content in their position, and it seemed as though this female was more of the later; a loner still looking.

rylee . mckay "If you'll be my star, I'll be your sky You can hide underneath me when you come out at night When I turn jet black and you show off your light I live to let you shine." Rylee's amber optics were on the black male, though she was looking through him. Her mind was working slowly as her heart continued to ache. The pain in her chest was constant, always longing for what she had foolishly believed she had. She kept the small smile on her maw, hoping that she didn't appear too distant. She frequently gazed deeply into no space.
When he spoke of good grace, she sighed. "Hah... Ain't no reason in seekin' when there's nothin' for yah to seek..." She scoffed quietly to herself so he wouldn't hear, shuffling her paws uneasily and lightly gritting her teeth. It honestly angered her for her misfortunes.
The male continued to speak in response to her own question. She quickly straightened herself up and stopped her uneasy habits, giving him her full attention. He seemed a little sad, though it made sense why as he explained. Even though it was from different circumstances, they were still both driven from their homes. Her eyes returned to her paws, thinking about her pack. Oh, how she missed her pack... She missed being around those she cared about, and that cared about her...or so she thought until they betrayed her.
So, there was in fact two packs. The one he beloned to and the one they were taking shelter with. She lowered her ears, sadness flashing across her face. "So y'all were driven out too..." She whispered, barely audible. She shook her head and brought her eyes back up to him. "I'm sorry t' hear that." Her eyes met his for a moment, sharing a look that said she understood how it felt to be away from home.
Her stomach felt in knots as it suddenly growled lowly, making her wince. She hadn't eaten for a while. She often kept her fur clean to avoid showing how malnourished she was. She hoped he didn't notice.
He spoke his name. Valkyrie... A nice, strong name. It was perfect for his look. She nodded slowly to him, standing up and bowing her head in respect. "It's a pleasure to meet yah, Gamma Valkyrie of Styrrs'dar Cadre. M' name's Rylee M'kay," she paused for a moment. "'Ah wouldn't quite consida mahself a loner, more of just 'uh aimless wanderer with no home, an' no destination. Goin' wh'reva the skies may take meh." She gazed upwards, allowing the breeze to ruffle her fur. She knew she was alone through all this. She felt empty inside, no real reason why she kept walking; and yet, she did. Perhaps it was an urge deep inside her that wanted her to survive... She didn't know. She continued to stare at the heavens longingly, watching the clouds slowly roll by.
"But you can skyrocket away from me Never come back if you find another galaxy Far from here, with more room to fly Just leave me your stardust to remember you by..."
