OOC Information
OOC Name: Squid Link to Previous Character: N/A
General
Name: Pasiphae Alias: Pas, Pasi, Phae Species: Myou - Leopard Seal Gender: Female Age: 5 Pack: None at the moment. Still deciding who I want to join! Rank: n/a
Physical
Height: 34 in Weight: 122 lbs Appearance: Pasi's body is covered in short, sleek fur that clings to her frame. Her belly is white, mottled with blue-gray and black speckles around her chin, muzzle and neck. Her back is a dark gray, extending from the tip of her coal black nose to the entirety of her tail and branching out over her shoulders, stopping just before her legs. Her paws are the same dark gray. The fur around her large, dark eyes is white, and her gray back is dappled with the occasional white or black speckles. Her body is short and stubby, with a healthy layer of fat lining her ribs. Pasi's small ears are generally pinned to her skull, though whether it's a submissive action or the way her ears sit naturally is unknown.
Her teeth are sharp and pointed like one would expect, save for her molars. When she bites, they can be seen locking together, presumably to filter microscopic life forms out of the water she frequents. Her claws are small, rounded and stubby, useless for fighting but good for traction. Small webs of skin are between each toe to help aid in swimming.
Mental
Strengths: • Fearlessness. Pasi literally knows no fear, to the point where it's surprising she hasn't been killed yet. Then again... • Swift Swimmer. Pasi is agile in the water, and comfortable even in the coldest waters. • Breath. When submerged, Pasi can hold her breath for an extraordinary amount of time. • Honesty. Pasi doesn't mince words, for better or worse. An honest friend is a treasure indeed, however. • Combat. Pasi is skilled in her own form of combat. She tends to attack from many sides, disorienting her prey - in the water, she simply swims circles around it until she can flip it over and tear it open.
Weaknesses: • Curiosity. Pasi is curious to a fault, and will investigate anything or anyone, no matter how deadly. • Simplemindedness. Playing into the previous fault, when Pasi is investigating something she doesn't tend to think. It's a miracle she hasn't ingested some form of poisonous plant after a curious nibble by now. • Aggression. While normally cheery and playful, Pasi's mood can swing quite suddenly into predator mode. Fortunately, the only things she's betrayed this way have been fish. • Clumsiness. On land, while not much slower than your average canine, she is notoriously clumsy. Tripping over rocks, bumping into someone's hindquarters, running into trees - she's done it all. • Attention Span. Pasi's is pretty tiny. Most have to work hard to keep her focused if something else catches her eye. • Slow On Land. Due to her second spirit's nature, she is sluggish and slow to move on land. With a great deal of effort she can muster up a steady lope, but she vastly prefers being in or near the water, or on ice.
Personality: Pasiphae is ever curious and ever playful. She revels in joy and happiness, disregarding the miseries of the here and now for the small silver linings. She is much like a pup who never quite matured in that aspect, with a penchant for frighteningly deadly mood swings when put to the chase. She doesn't seem to understand moderation, giving everything her all and more, often to the point of exhaustion. But in Pasi's opinion, if it brings a smile, however slight, to someone's face, it's worth it.
Pasiphae often acts like she's not even familiar with her own body. Her teeth often cut deeper than they need to, or she'll hold onto prey longer than she's asked to, as if her jaws don't want to unlock. It's not so much that she hosts two personalities, but rather she loses herself to her second spirit in the hunt. It takes her a moment to 'come down' from this strange possession of sorts, but soon her jaws begin to go slack and her eyes unglaze, and the urge to spring around exploding with joy returns. History: Pasiphae was born to two Myou, neither of which expected only one pup - and one inhabited by something so fierce, no less. Her mother, inhabited by a forever-wary zebra, was particularly disturbed. Her father, hosting a proud papa bear, knew that choice was not up to them and refrained from judging little Pasi.
Her puphood was filled with warm nights, summery days and the boom of her mother's heart, interspersed with the songbirds's music around their home. Her mother woke up one clear-skied morning, complaining of mild discomfort, but felt as if she'd feel better lazing in the sun, watching her daughter play.
As the hours wore on, however, it became clear that something was amiss. Her mother seemed anxious, something that was not normal for the kindhearted, levelheaded mother of Pasi. She seemed to grow worse every moment, delirious with some perceived pain, and there was little she or her father could do but watch, horrified.
She passed away within hours, and Pasiphae's father did everything in his power to avoid traumatizing his pup - and yet she still caught a glance of her mother's face when he moved her into a secluded spot. Her eyes were clenched shut, lips twisted into a permanent snarl of pain and fear, as if even death failed to bring her relief.
Pasiphae, scarcely reaching up to her father's elbows as they took the longest walk of her life, decided that her mother had been frightened to death. Her father was sure that it wasn't simply hysteria that had taken his mate, and he was correct; although neither of them would be able to comprehend the bloat that killed Pasi's mother, twisting her stomach until it burst.
Her growth past that point was stunted socially, and she had little time to explore or really be a pup. Her father was a strict teacher, and had little patience for playtime. She learned to hunt as well as he could teach her. She learned the special way he stunned the slower winged fish with a slap of his massive paws, and her scissor like jaws proved helpful in snatching the dazed fish out of the air. She learned how to track game and defend her kill, though he explained that anything larger than a jackalope would prove difficult, if not deadly. Her baby fat melted away, her fuzzy pale gray coat thinning to the slick, smooth hairs of her adulthood. She was introduced to her father's friends - the solitary bear within him hesitated to call them pack mates - when she was scarcely a pup anymore. Other Myou of varying shapes and sizes - dark ones, feathered ones, ones as bright and flashy as the sun itself - greeted her, spoke to her, and with that she was introduced to the joy of conversation and friendship. Those moments made her heart feel warm, thrumming with more life than ever.
When she was old enough to live on her own, she left without complaint, traveling far to find a climate that suited her needs and preferences. But when she settled down for the night, she thought of her mother, so warm and sweet one moment and sobbing in pain the next, and wondered if she too, should be so afraid of death. Shortly she decided that it wasn't worth thinking about, and curled up with a belly full of fish. Other: Pasi's second spirit is a Leopard Seal, in case I wasn't supposed to put it under 'species'. I ran individual sections through a word counter and spell-check to make sure they qualified, so I hope this is good enough!

Hello Squid and welcome to the fascinating and diverse world of Wonderwhy Wolves!
My name is Somatra and I am naturally pleased to make your acquaintance and happy to have the opportunity to review your bio. It is clear that you have read over the site rules, paid attention to the profile form requirements and reviewed the species guide, thank you for this attention to detail!
On that note everything is good to go except for one small discrepancy: In her Appearance you make mention that she is short and stubby and then in her Strengths you make reference to her being agile on land and in water. Given her second soul is a leopard seal being agile in the water makes good sense to me, however being short and stubby with a healthy layer of fat on her ribs would impede her agility on land greatly. Please modify that accordingly and I will see if you are good to go.
Kind regards and once again a big welcome to WW!

D'oh, thank you for pointing that out! I've been working on and off on this profile throughout the day, so I took some parts out, retyped others, scrapped ideas entirely etc. Seems I missed that part somehow. :)
I fixed it up, and put a note in her Weaknesses as well. Thanks again!
