"Speaking" Deep within the swamp was an ethereal place of intense beauty that seemed as heavily shrouded in mystery as it was in vegetation where creatures scurried through the shadows that played sinister games in the late night hours. Little crystalline pools littered the marsh, accosted by thick species of vegetation that overlapped the pools like heinous lovers hell bent on claiming what was rightfully theirs. Artellia slunk cautiously through this disturbing beautiful marsh, ears perked forward on high alert as her deep golden eyes perused the shapes behind the long grass for any indication that all was not safe. Crickets and frogs chirped from their hiding spots and a full moon of ghastly proportions cast the marsh in vivid contrasting shadows. It was a night for wonder and yet the only thing the beautiful dame could wonder about was what was to become of her.
Artellia was terribly alone on the world, she had no one and nothing left unless by some glimmer of hope Tsu had not perished within the vile snow storm that had assaulted the Tundra. It was this faint glimmer of hope and this undying snippet of faith that kept her alive and moving forward through every painstakingly long day. However, tonight in the disturbing darkness she wished she had another`s company, if not anyone`s company, to chase away the demons that stalked the night. Creeping lithely towards a pond she peered nervously at her reflections, and it looked back at her, as warm and striking as ever. The moon cast the small pool in an azure glow and ripples of silver cascaded over the surface as Artellia bent down to lap at the cool water with the tip of her small tongue.
Her thoughts drifted to her lover, as they often did these days, but today it was the caress of his thick and soft fur against her own body that she contemplated upon. She missed his reassuring voice, hell she even missed hearing his cocky remarks when he brazenly challenged those he should not and sighed, miserable and rather frightened in the thick marsh. Oh sure, she was not tiny, but all the same she was not the fighting sort and even if she could keep her own it provided her great comfort to know there was another at her side. Tsu had promised to always be there for her and that she would never again be open prey to danger...But tonight she was reminded that even Tsu could not fight fate and here she remained, open and entirely vulnerable to any passing evil.
A small shudder ran down her spin and she glanced nervously into the dark, her long serpentine tail flicking restlessly as she crouched low to the ground. Every sound seemed out of the ordinary and her ears were constantly swivelling, her nerves pulled taunt in anticipation of the attack that was sure to come. Her fur bristled as her tense muscles inched to just high tail it out of the marsh and run until she could no more. A loud crack nearby succeeded in getting a rise out of her and she jump violently with a small whimper, whipping her head around to see what was coming towards her. But nothing was, in fact nothing had been the whole travel from the mountains through to the swamp and yet she could not settle or calm herself, she was terribly out of sorts since the blizzard.

She bounced from log to log and rock to rock. The stretchy eremus loathed the water dwelling animals... it was so easy for them here. She hopped atop a long and slender branch jutting from one of the few swamps trees. It was then she scanned the area for any signs of life and it hit her like a turkey on thanksgiving day.
Down in the murky depths she spied an all too familiar Myou. What was her name again? Nepara wasn't the best at remembering these things... "Hey you!" She wrapped her body around the branch and let her front half stretch and dangle just inches above the water as she giggled.
"Hehe.. you look kinda funny when you are up side down... oh wait..." Nepara stretched her muscles again as she flipped up to face the Myou right side up. "That's better... hey weren't you in the empire? I think I've seen you at one of the pack meetings before or something..." the stretchy eremus noted. How was the empire lately? She was unsure as she left only moments before it actually disbanded. Nepara couldn't help be be nosy.
"Hey, where's your other hybrid friend? The big black and white dude?" she wondered. Her body began to elongate by itself suddenly, her ability to control it lost. "Ack! Just a second!" she cried out as her hind end whipped loose and sent her flying onto a pile of mangrove roots. She laid there in a tangle mess as she tried to stand on her forepaws... but her constricto would not allow her to do so. "Whelp, guess I know where I am staying for the night..." she giggled again. Maybe said Myou would come up onto dryer ground and join her?

Leo slipped into the shadows as the eremus appeared. His ears swivelled at the sound of her lively voice, and his tail flickered in annoyance. He was only after a drink of water, and maybe the chance to catch some fish before he moved on. He didn’t know what the hunting would be like in other lands, so it would be best to eat while he could, even if it was just fish and frogs. Plus, he was thirsty, but the two wolves were blocking his path. He didn’t mind the myou, she seemed lonely, and frightened, but she didn’t seem to be the talkative type, and would probably allow him to get on with his own business. Furthermore, he always had a liking towards the myou, despite the fact they were generally hated. It was a mix of his own defiance to follow normal behaviour, and his own personal experiences with myou. They were curious. Two souls in one body was remarkable. As for the Eremus, he didn’t care either way about the species. As far as he was concerned, they were the same as every other species of wolves, with a few physical differences. It was odd to see one by swamps, when they often preferred the desert, but this one did seem to be avoiding the water. He could tell that this one had the power of constricto. He raised an eyebrow, watching the wolf as she stretched her body, hanging from a branch. He rolled his eyes at her giggling, his fur bristling at the noise. The dryness of his throat pulled him from his observation, and he gazed longingly at the water. He released a low growl, and stalked towards the water. The need for a dramatic entrance made him hesitate. He cursed his overly dramatic nature. He took a step back, and closed his eyes, focusing intently. He had managed to create fire a few times, but it didn’t always work. But it seemed that luck was on his side today, and it only took a few moments for a flame to appear. He smiled. Once you had the first flame, the rest was easy. The flame grew in size, and he sent it running towards the two females, careful not to hit them. He followed the blaze into the open, his gaze sharp and intent, his face betraying no emotions. As the flame approached the two wolves, he called it back, allowing the flame to dance on his pelt, before allowing it to die. Feeling incredible smug, but acting like it was nothing, he approached the water, and started to drink, his gaze drifting towards the myou.

"Speaking" Artellia moved into the comfort of some large rushes that bordered a quiet pool of water, curling her scaly tail above her curvacious body as he golden eyes glanced at the sky questioningly. Where or where was her Tsu? It didn’t help that this was her season of heat, for now more than ever she yearned for the delightful embrace of her brazen rogue. Her nose quivered as she peered into the darkness, ears flat against her skull as the rushes folded over her body from the blowing wind, enveloping her in a soft cocoon. Laying her head testily upon her long toed paws she sighed, it would be another long night and the swamp simply made so much noise, it was as though night creatures loved to venture out in this territory. She had only come this way because she had heard the scenery was to die for and the crocodile monitor in her wanted to see it for herself. Sometimes the second soul could be a bother, but lately it had been her sole companion and driving force after the forced separate from the Empire. Really, she had never liked the cold environment, it didn’t suit her fickle fancy, but Tsu had wanted to go and so she had followed suit, determined that it really didn’t matter where she went as long as Tsu was there. Well fancy that, now Tsu was gone and she was alone, so what was she to do now?
The female myou could hardly remain a loner, she could possibly defend herself, though her second soul had gifted her with a long and strong lashing tail, extended and mildly poisonous fangs and long thick claws that could slice through flesh without difficulty. It was however her disposition that was her main issue, she simply didn’t want to have to defend herself, her second soul was lazy by nature and did not enjoy strenuous activity. Her stomach rumbled and Artellia frowned derisively, she was terribly hungry and used to using her charm to get others to hunt for her, perhaps she could employ enough effort to attempt convincing a strapping loner to catch her a meal? She had after all learned to live in such a fashion; a pretty eye with a luscious disposition was usually rewarded with a prize. Just then a sound caught her attention and her head swiveled in its direction, eyes narrowing into exotic reptilian slits as she pierced the darkness. Her hackles rose ever so slightly and her extended fangs were plainly visible under her dainty maw, was this the threat she knew would come and find her in the night?
Moving deeper into the rushes she waited for motion to define what had made the noise, and was rewarded with the sight of a grossly disfigured white wolf flip flopping around the place. Surprise light up her face as she watched the odd wolf attach itself to a tree and begin to fire a rapid succession of question at her. Artellia flicked her ears back, glancing around in confusion until it finally dawned on her, this was Nepara, the eremus of the Empire and she had met her at the pack meeting that early winter. Moving out from the rushes with a quaint smile upon her maw she allowed her body to unfold, smooth and full of sultry curves, her movements languorous and fluid, resembling that of a monitor unfolding from a nap. Blinking a couple times with her vivid eyes she said, “Oh my, you’re that eremus from tha Empire ain’t yeah?” Her voice was thick with a warm and southern accent, natural sultry and sweet with enough hint of a twang to compliment the package. Attempting to sound light hearted she added with a hint of bleakness, “Well sugah, I don’ rightfully know where my Tsu has gone to, I pray he is safe and coming for me soonah than latah. What brings ya’ll out to this here swamp? I’m Artellia by the way hon, an as far as I reckon the Empire is no more, that dahmn blizzard gone and blown us all out.” She nodded pensivily, wondering exactly where that left her, no pack, no mate, no friend and no future, it was a bleak notion. Artellian could not stiffle the giggle upon seeing the wolf in knots, “Ya’ll be needin’ some help there love?” It certainly looked like a most precarious situation and the myou proceeded to use her tail to sort the mess out, only mildly weirded out by the odd exercise.
Then suddenly from the night came rushing two fire balls, blazing hot and ferocious they roared towards the two females and Artellia snarled in alert, jumping aside and falling into a nearby glistening pool of water. The flames however passed on and a dark lupus emerged, a look of smug satisfaction on his face which evoked a pissed of snap of Artellia’s jaws as she emerged from the water, diamond droplets glowing in the light of the silvery moon. Her own eyes flashed fires of annoyance as she moved toward Nepara, a curt and sultry remark sneering from her maw, “Well dahmn, if it ain’t sparks himself, guess we should be evah so grateful to be gifted with ya’ll little light show.” Huffing she wrinkled her nose in distaste, under different circumstances she would have been drawn to his dark allure and cocky manners, but tonight her nerves were fazzled and she was on edge with restlessness.

She would have been stuck there longer than she wanted to if Art had not been there to help her. She smiled and wagged her elongated tail as her ears flopped about hungry to touch things around her. She much rather liked this female, and she missed the other empire wolves. Then the myou told her the disturbing news. Her body froze for a moment as she was lost in dispair. All at once she felt sorrow and yet felt content.
Content to know she had left at the right time before things got worse. Sorrow filling her heart knowing they could do nothing to stop from falling apart. Though the little eremus perked up again. Afterall, she was not one for moping. Too bad Artellia had lost Tsu to the harsh storms. Nepara hoped they could be back together soon. She didn't like to see anyone sad or solemn... not even herself.
A sudden flash of fire hit a mossy rock nearby as a massive lupus male rose. Nepara jumped up in excitement as her body finally regained its strength to bend again. "Nice! But you missed us..." she laughed and mocked him. Of course, she was pretty sure he meant to do that, it was just fun to pick on the new guy. She meant no harm by it anyways... she was only joking around... just like a true jester.
She rolled around on the roots to make sure she did not fall into the waters again as she completely lost herself in daydreams of leader a pack where all they did was play and run and jump. She would love to not worry about prey or enemies. Maybe running a pack or group of some sort would be fun! Who knows?!
Wait. What was she just doing again? Oh yeah! The new guy...
"What's ur name by the way? I mean dude... that's some dope and mondo moves ya got goin'! Too bad I'm not a lupus otherwise I would throw fire back and we could be like.... fire ninjas!" Nepara giggled as she lashed her tail out at the water near him, hoping to splash him. Of course, again playfully. "Oooooh nooooez! Ima waturrrr lupuse nao! Rawr!" she laughed as she let her tail soak in the murkky water and winked at Art, hoping she might tag along and play with her too... even if it was in the middle of the night.

Leo rolled his eyes purposefully at the eremus. Her voice was grating his nerves, and his tail twitched in irritation. He decided to answer the eremus question, by responding to the other wolf. “I’m afraid you’re mistaken. My name isn’t Sparks, it’s Leo” His voice came out smooth, surprising himself. He had no trouble speaking smoothly, and could talk his way out of any conversation, even if he did prefer to isolate himself, but he did not anticipate the flirtiest tone that accompanied it. In his old pack, the only females had been his mother, and his sister, and obviously he had no romantic interest in them. Of course, in his travel he had seen females, but they had always been much older than him, and he hadn’t yet reached maturity. But since leaving the pack, almost half a year ago, he had found himself in the company of more females. He had been curious by the way they reacted to him, finding it amusing at times, and useful at others. He found that love, especially when it was unrequited, was nothing but a weakness. A weakness he often exploited. A splash of water disrupted his train of thought. He growled slightly, his muscles rippled beneath his pelt, his first reaction being to attack. He stopped himself, hearing the Eremus giggle. "Oooooh nooooez! Ima waturrrr lupuse nao! Rawr!" His eyes twitched, raising his eyebrow. “A water lupus’s power goes far beyond being able to lightly splash another.” He pointed out, lifting his head above the water, having quenched his thirst. He took a step back from the water, so that his shadow did not cover the water. He watched intently, blocking the two females out, and focused intently on the water’s surface. It wasn’t long before he saw faint shadows, weaving through the water’s plant life. He waited, but his muscles tensed, preparing to strike. One of the shadows swam closer to the water’s edge, and within his reach. In an instant he lashed out, his mouth plunging into the water, and his teeth gripping the fish’s body. He retreated back to the surface, so that even if the fish did escaped, it wouldn’t be able to reach the water. The fish jerked, trying to free itself, but he sunk his teeth in deeper. As it’s struggled slowed, he released the fish, and caught it under his paws, giving a final swipe to its head, to finish it off. Satisfied, he knelt down and began to eat, glancing back at the two females. A part of him said he should share his catch, or at least teach them his fishing technique, but he ignored that part, choosing to seem more in control. He decided he would help them if they asked.

"Speaking" Her tail curled perfectly, terribly long it was the perfect compliment to her shapely figure of reptilian strength and grace and she rolled her shoulders in a carelessly dismissive shrug. What did she care if she knew his name? He was no Tsu and she missed her strong and charming Hybrid terribly, her heart aching for his presence. Narrowing her eyes dangerously she bit back an unnecessarily scathing retort, taking a calming breath as he eyes gleamed with golden flecks of irritation. Eranuiossi finally pipped up, her voice harsh and terribly annoyed, “Shape up my dear, your lover is gone and has left you, it is time you began to hunt once again!” But, pleaded Artellia, he will surely come to find me won’t he? She could here her crocodile monitor second soul sneering in pity, the second soul was much more carnal and lacked the loyalty characteristic to the side of Artellia’s wolf soul. Sighing she uncoiled and approached Nepara and Leo, he body a symphony of carnally suave movements, natural curves moving with a sinfully predatory ease as her tail snaked out behind her.
Tilting her head to take in Leo’s appearance she decided he wasn’t as hard on the eyes as he was on the nerves and decided that she could make an attempt to be pleasant. It was night in the swamp and there was not telling what could come of it all, besides, she had always been more of a lazy party goer at heart. “My my, aren’ ya’ll just the sweetess talkah, yah must woe sooo many with such a temptin’ vocabulary.” Her voice had taken on more of a teasing edge rather than one of annoyance, the sound like golden honey oozing out in warm southern intonations. A coquettish grin came onto her maw as she moved closer to Nepara, the eremus disposed of an unabashed spirit for fun, and Artellia sincerely needed the enthusiastic energy after suffering such tragic losses in her life. The myou was used to latching on to a male for survival, she cared not if she got used for it was but a mere survival instinct, she had been pawned off onto a mate to help her family gain status just because he had lusted after her luscious body. The female had thought to leave such a lifestyle behind her when she had met Tsu because for once she had thought to find love with the Hybrid, but he was gone and had left her alone and now she needed to survive.
It wasn’t as though she could not care for herself, she had enough personal arsenals to provide proper defenses, but she was simply not the hunting or fighting type by nature. In fact is was preferable to meet a male that could command and assert his will, one on whom she could charm with false attentions and satisfy their needs. She had always been used as a trophy, a mere item on which males saw an opportunity to sire a brood upon that would possess unique qualities, but she had been as such for so long that she did not see the warped and terribly sad reality of the matter. For her it was routine and to be barked and snarled at if not providing adequate services was simply the way things were, though oddly enough it had never affected her ability to have ridiculous quantities of fun. She enjoyed partying where things considered too vile for proper wolves were allowed and perhaps it was simply loosing herself in the lustful darkness of a sinful gathering that helped her to forget the sad nature of her life. In many ways loosing herself was as much her drug of coping as herbal solutions were to other wolves. As the reality that she needed to begin reconstructing a future for herself dawned she began to resolve herself to engaging in old ways. She moved closer to Leo and ran the very edge of the tip of her tail down his shoulder suggestively, “Well welcome to thah parteh handsome, think ya’ll can handle the heat?” She chuckled, the sound deeply feminine as she gave Nepara a wink, a male at ease was a lot funner than a suspicious one.

Post by Pantera on Apr 18, 2012 22:56:40 GMT -5
Pantera had been roaming aimlessly on the lands passing from one area to the next. She was restless, and had a dire need to let loose her energy. Running at full speed like a bullet train, her formation was like a blur as she bounded over logs, rocks, and other formations, then running through the shallow water. The splish splash of her mitts might as well draw attention as she slowed her run to a slow gait and observed a trio of wolves up ahead. Not rushing to greet them, she lowered her skull to drink as she padded toward them, her trotting gave away her drive of energy. It felt as though the earth wanted to shatter below her feet with each step as she could feel it rumble lightly under her; what was this phenomena she was experiencing each time she attempted to settle her force field of energy.
At times Pantera was able to be calm, but yet other times it was extremely hard for her, and it only wore her out to attempt to bottle it up. She needed desperate help in maintaining control of her powers. Pantera offered a wag of her tail in greeting in attempts to calm herself, it was just so long since she had seen another wolf. Her last encounter were on other lands, and it wasn't pretty. She actually killed the other wolf by accident. Pantera was no killer wolf, she was just an enigma of high energy.
She drew in closer feeling herself become blessed with a calmed state. Was this a miracle, or was she really learning how to switch the off button? Her eyes glanced from one being to the next' all different from her except Leo who was the same species as she was. She wasn't sure of the other two ladies of what their bloodlines where.
Hello..
Pantera offered a friendly tone, and her voice was actually calm and neutral, compared to most other encounters. She was impressed with herself, but dared not show it. She stood next to a tall tree and looked to the trio whom came here first. She felt awkward of being there and felt like she was intruding. Her glance told the others that she was willing to go silently if she was interrupting anything. 2 wolves was one thing to handle, but three now? Pantera could feel herself tense up again as hackles rose, not out of aggression, but subconscious reaction of meeting new wolves for the first time, and she was unaware of this happening until another said something or offered a glare in her direction, then her hackles would be felt deliberate. Pantera offered an awkward wag of her tail and opened her jaws to pant lightly as she flipped her lobes backward and up again, letting the trio know she wasn't a threat. The panting was a stress signal, when she was feeling out of place and awkwardness approached her being.

Leo seemed to take some sort of interest in her myou friend that of which she was unsure. Though now it seemed even though Artellia was pushing him away she now openly accepted his attempts and even gave a flirtatious reaction. Were these two interested in more romantic pursuits?? Nepara had never really felt in love with someone before since she had yet to ever meet someone who met her standards. So wanting another of your own species was a hard and picky choice, she even thought about giving kukkien's a shot but they too were scarce... maybe one day she will meet him and he will be just as accepting and goofy as she is?
The female eremus shifted her head to hear someone else approaching the now growing group. Who thought so many wolves could show up in one place at once? This made Nepara more estatic as she barked playfully at the newcomer. "Hai!" she replied to the female lupus as she made her way over to join them. She seemed just as eager to meet them as Nepara was her.
"I'm Nepara, who are you?" a simple question for a simple answer. The eremus wasn't one to complicate things or make things awkward for others, she felt like everyone belonged and that no one should feel more or less next to anyone else. She sat as she looked over the other wolves, Leo in particular. He would be interesting to watch interact with others. Maybe a game of "follow the leader" would prove worthy in his case? Nepara loved playing games and watching wolves interact with each other.
"Hehe, I think Ima follow this guy around... he seems like fun!" Nepara giggled to Artellia, hoping she was getting just as much of a kick out of him as she was. "Oh and that's Artellia and over there is Leo..." Nepara introduced everyone to the new wolf to help make things more comfortable reguardless if the other wolves wanted to share their information with the other stranger...

Leo had never been one to understand romantic gestures, nor was he one to flirt. Although he had heard that he was charming, so maybe he did it anyway? He had learnt long ago that a wolf in love, loses all their common sense, and is very easy to control. He had used this information to his advantage, manipulating females if he had any interest in information they may hold. Furthermore, he had also decided that falling in love was pointless, a waste of effort, and a danger to survival. That is why, when he felt the tail tip brush his shoulder, and the flirtiest tone, that he was able to ignore it, without feeling any sense of lust blooming inside him. If anything, it just made him more suspicious. He continued to feast, munching on the last few bits of meat before swallowing. He got to his feet, and turned, hearing the arrival of a new wolf. Another lupus it seems. He snorted, giving a glare towards Nepara for revealing information about him, no matter how trivial. He was losing interest in this group of wolves now, and the nervous newcomer was doing nothing to improve his mood. He decided that when he got the chance he would slip out of sight, and back into the shadows. He preferred acting mysterious.
