"Speaking"
The moisture clung to her silver fur, making it heavy and sagging her skin down. It made no effect on her as she sauntered over the boundary lines that marked the territory of the Mafia. She had heard rumors of what they did to strangers passing on their lands without intentions of joining. Not to mention what they did to anyone that came near their lands as they pleased. Such stories, however, did little to frighten her or her Daemon as they walked nonchalantly across the boundary line. As massive as the silver wolf was, she knew there was not much physically that could stop her. When it came to her Daemon, magic didn't come in handy to an opponent so well. She was resistant to these things, magic and trickery.
She padded past a few bushes into a lovely little piece of scenery, a small opening surrounded by thick trees and underbrush. Tezcacoatl was a nearly forty foot long green anaconda, and by no means was he small in any way. He had the ability to crush a full grown wolf if he wanted to, as big as he was and she was rather sure he could eat one if he really tried to. She watched as he slithered about on the ground, taking delight of the humid feeling of the jungle. He adored this place, and she could see that. Of course, considering his species, that was something of the norm. He had always preferred hot and humid climates to anything else, even though he could tolerate just about everything. The only thing he wouldn't survive in would be the frozen areas of WonderWhy, and she would never take him there.
"Nile, this placcce issss lovely." He said to her, curling around her on the ground as she sat silently. His pink tongue flickered out and tickled at her legs. "But there issss a pack living here."
Nile knew this well. She had smelled the boundaries clearly as she had walked over them and she had no fear of the wolves living in these lands. Her Daemon wanted to visit this place because it suited his body best and she was not going to deny him that right. He was built for this climate and no other, and unfortunately this was the only land area like it in the continent. The swamp was okay, but it wasn't quite the right thing for him. Her only concern was being able to make sure that her Daemon was happy. She was fond of the climate as well, as uncomfortable as it proved to be in the first place. Her sharp golden eyes stared off into the dark depths of the jungle, contemplating her options. She felt her snake nudge her lightly and she looked at him.
"I don't think it would hurt to join a pack." With that, she threw her head back, releasing a deep, solid howl.

"Speaking" Scorch slunk through the late afternoon shadows, glimpses of his blood red and inky black fur reflected in the spots of lighting that filtered through the immense leaves that comprised the roof of the jungle. The tropical forest was another world of its own, a realm of complete ecstasy and darker fantasies. Separated from the rest of the lands by its towering roof of vegetation and foliage barriers, one could get lost in its midst and never find their way out again, too caught up in the rapturous treasures and mysteries that dwelled in the darkest depths of its inner sanctuary. However, within the bowels of the dark forest resided an evil core, the jungle was a predatory land that fed off the weak and spit them out without mercy. It could be said that it was a perfect home for the like-minded wolves that thought to establish a name for themselves in the word of criminals and to seek refuge in the very house of Evil. It was a Garden of Eden that guarded the gates of Hell, and Scorch loved it to the bitter end.
To be sure simple minded wolves that never strayed from the path of the light had just cause to fear it, but more so the fear stemmed from beings that were fortunate enough to call it home; these very hell missionaries guarded their palace without abandon, driven by a carnal thirst to fulfill a glorified purpose that only Satan himself knew. The pack did not honor any gods, they were not the religious sort and they certainly did not lend much thought to the Great Spirit. However, in their hearts, every member payed homage to the one that gifted them with their darker powers; every murder, assassination, plunder, rape and conquest down to the very last drop of blood was payment for their abilities. In the end, the ultimate payment was their very soul, a price many were oh-so-willing to pay. Scorch considered himself to be dear Satan`s right hand man, a chip off the ol`block, and it was with distinguishable pride, harsh command and imperial power that he held himself when in the presence of others.
Letting the leaves caress his sleek body, Scorch sauntered through the darker side of his land, a pleasure so very few had yet to, nor would ever, experience and it quite tickled his fancy to be able to watch poor unsuspecting fools from his very own realm of abysmal darkness. As he neared the borders of his tropical palace, a howl reached his ears, causing him to pause and lift his head, ears perked forward as he sniffed at the air. The scent of wolf was fresh, and the howl loud enough to be in the near distance, which meant whoever had raised the call, was near the borders. Moving back into the comforts of the shadows, the Don quickened his pace, eyes peeled for any movements. The foliage seemed to have been disturbed, but no wolf could have caused such an unusual disruption, for it looked as though something long and heavy had sliced through the vegetation.
Curious by all means Scorch pressed on, following the odd path and unusual scents until a bizarre sight appeared before him. Pausing to stay in the shadows, the Don looked upon a clearing of sorts, the sun light teaming into the midst in distinctive rays, casting the vegetation in an odd array of shadows. In the center a wolf sat, but around it was curled the largest snake Scorch had yet to lay his ocean blue eyes upon. The beast surely would uncoil to at least 40 feet, and yet the wolf in its grasp did not seem particularly concerned, or intimidated. Continuing his evaluation of the situation, Scorch noted that it seemed as though the wolf was talking to the beast, the individual in question a rather plain looking wolf with rather striking gold eyes, only highlighted by the rays of the sun. The Don would have thought the wolf to be male, but there was no mistaking that those eyes belonged to a female. Was this one of the rare Daja`s? A unique breed of wolves derived from myous, their second soul manifesting from their bodies to form two individuals.
Scorch surmised that it was a reasonable hypothesis, which meant that for all the snake`s impressive and dominating appearance, it could do the Don no harm. Smiling he sauntered out from the shadows, a contemplative smirk of greeting on his maw. What did this stranger want so bad that they might be willing to summon a spawn straight from Hell`s belly? He would soon find out… Remarking rather dryly he said, “You rang?” His voice weaved like liquid silk through the air, smooth and dangerously calm. The lupus held himself with a casual cocky sense of authority, his head held high but his shoulders slightly slouched and his tail kept proudly straight. He did not need to intimidate for he was confident in his position, those that defied it would know the true power he wielded.

Tezcacoatl rested heavily upon her body, his sleek pink tongue flicking in and out to keep scenting for any wolf to approach them in the vicinity. It was a rather special thing for him, considering it was much stronger than his Daja's was. His sense of smell was impeccable and not much could get past him as far as smelling the world around him went. He could sense the dirt, the leaves, the bark, and even the water that was so far away from them. Every scent particle floated through the air and stuck to his slim tongue. He would pull his tongue into his mouth and taste everything that those particles told him. It was almost like a language to the male, strange as it was to put it that way.
Nile's bright gold eyes, such a contrast to her fur and her snake's scales, scanned the darkness of the jungle that threatened to swallow them up any second. It was a lovely place. Hot, humid, not to mention full of life all year round. Fall nor winter would be a bother in a place such at this. As large as she was, the female needed plenty of food to keep her going through the day, the reason she stopped often to hunt for herself and for her Daemon. Her Daemon even took the time to hunt for the two of them, just to give her some time to rest, and he would certainly have fun killing what he pleased in this forest. Plenty of food, especially large game. If there were gators or crocodiles, he would love to have a tangle with them, but Nile more or less wouldn't allow him.
"Oh, Nile, dear. It lookssss like we have ourssselvesss a guessst." The snake's head moved and faced in the direction that the Lupus would soon arrive. His golden eyes pierced the darkness, watching as the male of fire emerged from the deadly darkness that the jungle provided. He took in his appearance. The male was clearly one of authority and rather sure of himself, since it seemed as though he was completely unaffected by the massive snake within his presence. He must have had some idea of what the pair was then, considering he appeared to have a confident air about him.
Nile stared the Lupus down, watching his authoritative stance like a hawk. Apparently, this male was one of the few whom had the power to accept the pair of them into the pack. She merely twitched her ears when he spoke to them, then waited a few moments to see if he was to add anything else onto that sentence that would pertain to their presence here. When he said nothing more to them, she took her own turn to speak, her voice ringing like a solid bell, never wavering in its tone or volume. "...Indeed we did. Are you this pack's leader?" She wanted to be sure of such things before making the offer to join the pack. She would not accept any sort of false advertisement from a lowly ranking wolf whom had no power within the pack at all. In other words, she wasn't going to take crap from someone weaker than herself.

"Speaking" Scorch let his cold eyes take in the wolf`s appearance, skimming over what appeared to be solid muscles and resting back on the wolf`s face. Her size would certainly make her an interesting opponent he supposed, but what affairs did she have with the Don? It was perhaps a might peculiar that an Alpha should answer a random loner`s call, but Scorch was the type that hungered to know everything that occurred in his lands, perhaps that made him a mild control freak? Smirking softly at the thought he moved out of the shadows and into the light, letting the rays pool across his terribly dark fur, highlighting the deep blood red tones in the blackness so that it appeared as though his fur glistened in blood. His voice did not betray any of the interest he felt, though if anything there was a trace of amusement in it. “I’ve been called worse, though most refer to me as the Don.” He chuckled deeply, the sound languid and dark as it bubbled to the surface.
The pair certainly seemed at home in the jungle, in fact Scorch could only imagine there would be far too few places the large snake might be able to live all things considered. Did they wish to join? The Don resisted a gleeful chuckle, he would certainly enjoy having such an interesting looking pair join his ranks, but did they have it in them to survive the lifestyle requirements? Scorch demanded that his wolves answer his call and perform their crimes to only the highest standards, and in return they were given an enchanting sanctuary in which to practice their own muses far from the prying eyes of those that might judge them. Scorch did not trust any of them, they were the best at what they did, lying, cheating, killing, torturing, deceiving, manipulating and pilfering, and made for a tricky bunch to be around. However he did give them his loyalty and in return he expected the same, once part of the pack leaving was not an option and any who sought to would pay very dearly for their transgression.
The jungle itself swirled with dark carnal energy, feeding the growing darkness in the Don as his essence absorbed the corrupt air and burned bright with the oxygen. It filled his lungs like the poisonous air of a strong drug, having called out to the lupus from the very beginning, and since then he was rather hooked on the stuff. True it was but a calming drug to his more serious addictions, but all the same he could not imagine himself living without it. He found himself drawn to those individuals that had a similar connection to the jungle and the mafia, for they were there because they wanted to be no other place, and it was that bond that they shared with the criminal territory that assured Scorch they were present for the long haul. Would this wolf feel the same way? He could not be sure, but time would tell and loyalties would be proven.
Blue green eyes stared through golden ones, as though to pierce the female`s very soul and try to find the shadows that one needed in order to be a true mafia member. He kept an eye on her large companion, wondering what it might be like to fight a snake had the Daja been able to affront him, seemed like an interesting idea. Narrowing his eyes mischievously he responded, “Who wants to know and what business do you have with me?” A small bristling of his fur indicated that his time was generally limited; he had many affairs to attend to, including that of training his ever growing sons and daughter. With heirs to take his place he could be sure that his lineage would be continued on, and all of his offspring would have little to no trouble acquiring healthy mates to continue with this plan. It was his goal to live on through his offspring, ensuring that his name would never be lost in the fragments of time and that the Mafia would forever remain in the family. It was its proper place and Scorch would have it no other way, which meant that all his offspring had to suffer rigorous training and strict tutelage, he wanted them more ready than he had been himself, and they would retain their strength by uniting together so that none could rise and challenge them.

"Speaking"
Her black tipped ears twitched with each word that he spoke to her, floating through the dense air like a feather carried by a gentle breeze. The water particles packed within the air seemed to have little effect on this male in any which way, so he possibly spoke the truth of being the Don of this pack that resided within this jungle. It pleased her to know that she was meeting with someone of importance, rather than someone who would mean nothing to her in the means of gaining a place within the pack's lands. If it had been anyone else, then she would have ignored them until she had gained the right amount of respect in order to meet with a person a real authority. Or a fight would have ensued.
"A pleasure it is, then." Nile said little to him, knowing she would need to watch her tongue for once if she even wanted a small chance at gaining passage here. She could tell from the scents laid within the land that the pack was one of different stature, following different rules and morals than most other packs would. These morals and rules are the things she was unsure of, but she was sure she could find out rather quickly. All in all, she was aware certain things about her were going to have to change if she was to provide this place as a home for her Daemon.
The female's sole reason for seeking passage here was so that Tezcacoatl could live in the place that he was meant to live in. The jungle was his home by heart, and there was nothing she could do to change the way that he felt about it. If she would have to force herself to sacrifice having to live and deal with a pack for the rest of her days, then so be it. She loved her Daemon too much to let him go to waste in a place that held no meaning to him. Besides, she quite fancied the jungle as he did. Plenty of coverage, not to mention game. The only thing that would possibly be a hindrance to them, or more to her, would be the heat. However, she was sure there was water in this place for relief.
The massive snake almost scoffed at his seeming indifference and rashness to them. "Oh dear, Nile, lookssss like he hassss better placessss to be." He was taunting, of course, as he generally did to those they met. He knew that there was a chance the male only heard the hissing that would occur to most wolves when he spoke to his Daja, for most wolves didn't understand the language of a species that was not their own.
Nile felt her lips twitch in amusement at the bristling of his fur. Her Daemon spoke true, leaving there to be little conclusion for her as to whether being here was remotely worth it or not. It was entertaining to see the disregard he held for the behemoth of a female, though it irked her in the slightest. She came here to offer her services to the pack within these lands, not to be ignored by a stuck up male. She held little respect for power unless it was earned from her. "I am Nile, this is Tezcacoatl." Her tone was as solid as her golden gaze as she stared down the male with no fear. The only time she had been scared before was when she went from Myou to Daja. "You have little respect for strangers. It is understandable." She paused once more, having spoken the foremost thought on her mind. "We seek permission to join this pack."

"Speaking" So they sought to join his pack, well that was good reason for allowing a bit of his natural charm to shine through. An enchanted smile came to replace the scrutinizing scowl upon his maw, a dip in his regal head acknowledging their wish as he moved closer, tail swishing gracefully. His voice came out now in a melodic flow of darkness, “Hum, yes, in that case welcome to the jungle folks, here we like to keep things fresh. I always have time for future members, an interest in my pack is only of the utter most importance to an Alpha.” He cocked his head to re-evaluate the wolf and her daemon, seeing them now as possible members and not a threat to his pack. Yes, the female although plain in coloring was obviously quite strong, no doubt a solid physical presence that would be advantageous for him, and Scorch simply loved the impression she made beside her slithery companion. It would be beneficial to have such a striking duo in his midst, of that he was convinced, but now he had to be sure they could tolerate the obligations he imposed upon his members.
Eyes burning with a cold and calculated fire he circled the pair in sleek and strong graceful stokes of his legs, his movements possessing and eery flow of confidence. “Since you have place forth and interest I believe it is best to get to the point with my little information package. As you may know we follow our own code of ethics here in this pack, members first pledge their loyalty to my person, to themselves and then to the pack, yes we retain honor among the few select that are gifted with impressive attributes, you do not betray a fellow member, and if you wish to keep your life you never betray the Don.” He laced the last with an endearing harsh tone; he wanted this wolf to know that no backstabbing foolishness would be tolerated inside the pack without serious repercussions. Dipping his head he stalked his way back to face the golden eyes of Nile, his shoulders rolling with fluidity, “You will answer to me in this pack, but do know this, although I am inclined to deal with outsiders in swift and pronounced harsh methods, you will find I can be a charming fellow with those that have my favor, respect my will and find yourself with many more benefits than you could expect in any other pack.” He smirked, those that merited his favor enjoyed the pleasure of indulging in more sinful interests and were also gifted with significant control and consideration.
Giving a brief snicker of amusement he let the jungle vibrate with untapped energy about him, the calls of the heart of evil enveloping him in a caressing embrace. “So what will it be, the delights of wild abandon, respected fear and unclaimed pleasures in exchange for your pledge to my cause, or mere disregard that you will no doubt receive among other packs?” He stepped back in an gallant bow, his eyes trained upon the pair as he waited for them to arrive to their decision. One would bring them closer to experiencing a life of frivolities while merely handing over their services, and the other would release them back into the bland world of rules and heinous decorum. Scorch knew what a true mafia would choose and he waited to see if this wolf’s soul was indeed drawn by the calling of demonic purpose into a land of delightful darkness and unabridged opportunities.

"Speaking"
For mere moments, her own mind doubted that she would be able to give up her life as a loner and even give up herself to a pack such as this. She had heard rumors indeed, but had thought nothing of them, even though she well well aware of how true they were. This pack was dangerous and deadly on more than one level, some levels she was unable to understand half the time. She had gone out of her own way to stay as far from this territory's borders as she could. She did not want to risk losing her Daemon to anyone on these lands, yet she knew she could hold her own in the sense. Tezcacoatl, however, could not do anything to defend himself. Granted, most knew very little of Daja and Daemon, so leaving the Daemon be was often. Besides, the massive snake could only physically interact with other Daja and Daemon.
Nile loved the weather here as much as the beast coiled around her did, but there was little she could do as far as living here on her own. This territory did not belong to her, nor did she have the right to claim part of it. Such a thing was not in her blood, though, and she would not be in these lands now if not for her concern for her closest friend. The massive silver female was amused when the male's attitude seemed to shift as the wind, taking immediate interest in the fact that she sought admittance into his pack and his lands. They were the utmost importance? She had assumed that would be the case when she had waltzed in in the first place, but she did not sit there and expect anything from the male rather than acceptance. She would be patience with the fact, Tezcacoatl flicking his tongue in her ear.
Her golden eyes blinked, slight boredom showing in them as it was explained to her she would need to pledge her loyalty to him, respect him, and report to him. Sighing slightly, she found no issue in these things. "I assure you, if anything, loyalty will not be an issue." It never had been in the first place, and she had told herself that if she was to join a pack, then she would remain loyal to it for her own moral reasons. Nothing could sway her from the choices she made and, deep down, she wished she was not making this decision now. She wished she could not make such a choice that would affect her life from this moment on. Besides, the male made it clear that any sort of betrayal would resort in death. Punishment was a light word compared to what laid within his eyes.
Nile found it hard to believe that anyone would not want her, whether it was for her strength or her smarts. "I will be damned to the darkest depths of hell if I allowed anyone to disregard me." There was a tang of bitterness within her voice, tracing it like venom. Her own flesh and blood family had disregarded her, but only because they feared her so much, or more so feared her Daemon. The Lupus had managed to cause a prickle in her fur that she did not like in the slightest, as she did not care for someone being underneath her skin. "It will be up to my own emotions to decide whether or not it is a...delight, but I believe you know my answer from that alone." There was a slight amount of irk within her tone, showing her small, nearly miniscule, amount of irritation the male had caused her. Tezcaoatl slithered at her feet, wary of her sudden change in mood.

Speech | Think | Walk Pleased enough that this unique wolf had decided to join his pack, Scorch relaxed a bit, fur smoothing out over his muscles like a cloak of inky silk. Truly he simply loved having wolves join his ranks, the increase in numbers always put the Don in a good humor and that was only a good thing for the jungle. Smiling a little more friendly for he had a reputation of being a pleasant enough chap with his wolves despite his iron grip on command, the fire lupus dipped his head in acknowledgement of her words. In essence he was glad she had bristled at his statement, Scorch needed to know his members would not tolerate being over looked and that they possessed the strength to defy other’s opinion and do a damn fine job of it at the same time. His smile widened into a delighted grin, a surprising response given the circumstance and stated cheerfully, “Wonderful Nile and Tezcacoatl!” He addressed the snake as well, obviously it was of significant importance to Nile and therefor would be recognized in consequence by Scorch, “I should bloody well expect no less from a Mafia member, do keep that sentiment if you would be so obliged.” The other wolf’s irritation did little to dissuade his mirth, today was shaping up to be a fine one after this little encounter.
Shrugging his shoulders he simply let her last reply go without comment, it was fair enough and honest in nature, another good sign. Shaking his fur out he nodded his understanding and finally officially welcomed his newest member, “Very well then, Nile and Tezcacoatl, welcome to the Hellion Mafia where you shall know nothing but prosperity if I have a paw in anything. And you can be sure I have a paw in everything.” He gave then a conspiring wink, Scorch made for a good leader, with his shadow powers he could move about unnoticed and therefor be aware of every happening in his pack. Mildly paranoid he never fully trusted a wolf, which was just as well given he was surrounded by the most notorious criminals to have graced the earth. Continuing on he suggested, "You seem to be in fine form and shape, might I offer you the rank of Soldier for the time being? Prove your loyalty to the pack and perhaps I shall review you for a raise when the time comes.” It was a fair proposition, Scorch would not give out a High Rank without just cause, he needed to be sure his wolves were undying loyal before handing out the real goodies.
There had been more movement within the jungle with the coming of spring, and Scorch had begun to see signs that more members were emerging to embrace their duties. He would have liked to see them patrolling the borders more, but if they were out and about making a name for the mafia then Scorch did not mind so much. Daedalus was occupied ensuring his heirs did not wander off foolishly again; they were not old to enough to truly honor the mafia’s reputation of strength and needed to continue their instruction within the jungle before being really ready. They were the key to his survival, for even when he died he would live on within them and his legacy would prosper for at least another generation, a necessary measure, and so he protected the pups with a savage ferocity. Tor had been a good mate and gifted him with three healthy pups, he should have liked to sire another litter with her, but she remained obscure in her presence. If she did not show up he would have to take a new mate to continue his legacy; such was the way of the jungle.
