Kaly was fortunately as well s unfortunately on her way home to the valley after her…’experience’ at the Cove. She was now traveling alone, and while the little lyxxus did not mind being by herself she had to admit that traveling with Bri was nicer. He hunted, and could even carry her much of the long distance, some would call her a lazy lyxxus, but she preferred to think of herself as helping Bri to train and grow into something better than a sniveling coward. She was still quite angry at him for leaving her the way he did, she had said she needed time to think but it was near unforgivable that he had left the Cove entirely without her. Nearly the entire journey she had her ears plastered too her skull in displeasure and it was just lucky for any other they did not encounter the small pissy lyxxus on her journey back home.
She would be lying if she said she didn’t miss the valley, even though the Cove had been warmer, it had been far too close to the water for Kaly’s taste, and not nearly enough trees to climb. As she made her way back through warmer territories she happily hunted and gorged herself on prey knowing her body needed the extra fat to make her way back home and to keep her energy up. She knew that Bri was heading in the same direction, she had seen him so in her lunatic visions, but she had also seen a dark cloud hovering around him, Kaly was not patient enough to understand metaphoric signs in her visions, and the idea that there would be something else to interpret nearly made her eyes roll back in her head. She stomped for the sheer pleasure of it as she entered into the valley. She was missing her den far too much with it’s warming furs, and closed in spaces. She had missed that which was hers in general, and the tall trees, and she had missed her other friend, Coneiron.
Yes Coneiron, the older water lupus who had in his own weird way entangled his way into Kaly’s heart. Had she known what siblings were she would have indeed likened him to an older brother of sorts, of perhaps even an indulgent father type. Either way Kaly was resolved to speak with him as soon as she could find him. She needed to speak to someone she could trust about this whole Bri thing and what to do about it. She sure as hell was not going to go looking for the larger than life hybrid himself to discuss things, no it had to be someone who could be quiet…or be punished, and Coneiron simply fit the bill for all those requirements. Now she simply had to find a place good enough to meet him. Over the days of travel she had made sure to keep herself neat and tidy without the burden of actually havin to submerge herself in water so she looked no worse for wear as far as her traveling went.
She thought of all the possible places she could go to get the “jump” on her rather large friend and decided the rocks where the pack most of the time had their meetings would provide perfect cover for her to hide and possibly surprise, aka scare the hell out of the larger lupus. Yes, indeed Kaly was entirely evil, depending on who you asked, and as of right now, everyone would answer the same. She chose a tree which had several low hanging bendable branches and decided to stealthily climb it, of course how stealthy could one be when they looked like a rising ray of sunshine, not very but that was beside the point. When she reached a branch which looked like it would bend enough she skittered onto the edge, her midnight blue eyes shining with excitement. She waited until the branch had bent just enough not to catapult her into the next pack’s territory and then slipped off of it to jump onto the white rocks. Landing quickly she listened as the branch snapped back and she jumped down into the middle of a large coupling of rocks.
Now that she had the perfect hiding place now was the best time to call him, and then she could move around the rocks and possibly attack him. Even though she had something important to ask him about, it was not unlike Kaly to let a good experience like mock battling with Coneiron up. She tilted her head and let out her high pitched howl, echoing off the rocks and floating forth on the sky to go out over the territory. She made no false hoods about being injured, only to request his presence at the meeting rocks. She lay in wait, her ears pushed back against her skull, her eyes gleaming with happiness, and her tail curled in around her body to keep her warm as the winds whipped around the rocks, causing her to shiver slightly. At least when it was all said and done she could jump on top of Coneiron has a wonderful heat source….the devious look on her face would make anyone think she coveted his heat as much as she coveted everyone else’s dinner…

Coneiron had been musing about, debating whether to simply take the day off to spend with his new family or to embrace his position and continue on with his regular patrols. A lot had happened in such a short period of time, he had gained the gift of youth, acquired a mate and been given a son. The son was not of his blood, but all the same he cherished the little pup and it was with a great deal of pride that he watched Tauxic grow. With a new family the brute now felt that he had something tethering him down to the pack and this world and his life now revolved around them and keeping them safe. His patrols were taken with increased vigor for he was ever on the alert for any signs of the pup's biological father. Frankly the lupus itched to latch tooth and nail into the beast responsible for the affair, but he had promised Lupa that he would not seek the mortui out. Which simply meant he would have to wait for the asshole to come to him, and Coneiron was sure that he would come calling one of these days.
As it were Coneiron had not had much contact with any wolf outside his family, excluding the little skirmish with the calagris that had produced some rather disturbing consequences for the pack's leader, except for the little spitfire lyxxus Kaly. Coneiron had awoken the next day after the bloody fight with the enraged animal with no wounds or pains to show for his fight and feeling in top shape, a welcome gift under the circumstances. His pelt was now returned to its illustrious self, devoid of grey, his muscled had hardened into those of his youth, his fangs had been shed from their stains and now gleamed whiter than before and his eyes were once again alight with an uncanny bright spark and a thirst for life. Too early into his gift the brute did not realize it might one day become more of a curse than a gift.
His ears perked up as a howl reach him through his thoughts, nose twitching in interest. If it wasn't the call of a certain young lyxxus he'd be damned, and Coneiron was certainly not mistaken. The sound seemed the drift from the direction of the rocks and as the call was addressed to him Coneiron deemed it best to answer, after all he always had time for a friend and the lyxxus's energy was generally amusing. Moving forward at a steady pace he rapidly made his way to the rocks, and odd place to go about calling someone considering the poor visibility. What was the little devil up to anyways? Coneiron had not seen or heard tail of the female of late and then this sudden call, a matter of increasing interest.
The older wolf let out a strong bark of greeting, the sound echoing among the rocks as his eyes tried to pierce through the diverse shapes in hope of finding a familiar one. His footsteps made little sound among the haunting grounds and only an exasperated snort broke the silence of the boulders' resting spot. Finally calling out he asked wryly, "Ok, where are you you little vixen?" His head moved slowly from side to side, eyes peeled for any signs of the wolf but to no avail. Coneiron was sure the howl had resonated from this area, but if so where was Kaly?

She sat in her little cluster of rocks, and badgered herself because every other thought was of Bri. The way his wings sheltered her and kept her warm, and the way his coat in places matched the brightness of hers. She even liked the way he smelled…half way through this crap she managed to scream at herself and mumble about how she didn’t need him, she got back just fine on her own. She didn’t need to be around him, she didn’t need him to hunt for her or to protect her. She had done just fine on her own before that fateful day of meeting him, and she would do just fine after him too. If he wanted to just leave her on the beach where that weird Yagi stayed well then he could just go to hell. She even closed her own eyes at how loud her mind was being. She refused to give in to this silly nonsense that all the other wolves seemed to be giving in to. This obsessive urge to pair off and mate and be stupid.
She waited for Coneiron, and hoped she could depend on him to just be the same Coneiron, she needed some consistency in her life, desperately and she was tired of every wolf she actually grew to like, up and changing on her. If she wasn’t already crazy she would be with all these changes. The spitfire actually hissed and raked her claws into the dirt around her, almost making a makeshift din in the dirt she could lay in, of course she wouldn’t because she couldn’t stand the idea of being dirty. Not for the dirt aspect of it, but because then she would have to drag herself through water to cleanse herself, and now more than ever the water was freezing, her small shoulders hunched at the very thought of it. The winds soon interrupted the thoughts of arguments that she frequently had with herself to produce her friend, or one of the very few she would call her friend, and so she peered through a small crack in the rocks…only to be completely shocked.
Her first impression of Coneiron had been that of an older wolf, not out of shape by any means, but he was much older than she. The wolf she now looked at seemed to be in the very prime of life, he looked even more muscular if that was possible, his fangs were sharp and white, and his eyes, those that had glimmered with wisdom and knowing now glinted with the thirst for adventure and something more….You could have picked Kaly’s tongue up off the ground as she stared at the wolf in front of her, almost believing this to be an imposter of her friend she had left to go on a doomed adventure with Bri….Bri….’Oh quit it you mindless idiot…’ She heard the bark, and by his smell, and by his sound she knew it had to be him, but she simply could not get over this new look he had acquired in her absence. It was unnerving but, Kaly had not changed and she had no reason to make anything easy with the water lupus…although she knew he could do many things with his gift, and there was quite a large amount of snow…more unnerving..
She suddenly saw herself rolling down the slipping meadow in a huge ball of water….her teeth clacked together quietly in fear as she began to slink in between boulders, and rocks to come around to his back side. Oh she was small enough that it just so worked, and her claws avoided her making any sound, absorbed by the fluff on the ground. She heard his snort and stopped abruptly, wondering if he had seen her, his next comment put her mind at ease, no he hadn’t in fact he was wondering where she was….Her ears went back and her eyes took on that rather crazy demented look as she planned her attack. Realizing she was right behind him, and there was a nice sized boulder she could jump to she figured she could do a double jump and land on his back in just enough time for him to turn around and notice her…Yes it would be possible. Kaly still had not realized that Coneiron outweighed her by more than she cared to think about, and the fact that he was a lupus, well in lamens he could sit on her and disable her. But this was all a part of the fun in the relationship for Kaly.
She jumped on the rock, and forced her legs to push her up and forward. “Here I am, and down you go!!!! BONSAI!!!” Her famed attack phrase as she leaped through the air, claws unsheathed, stretching her body, her eyes wide and crazy, and her tongue half way extended. With a harsh thump she landed right on his backside, and dug in for purchase mind you, but she may have been small but she wasn’t small enough to stay on his backside. Her backside, slid down to the fluffy white powder, and her claws, while they raked down his back flank, quickly disentangled themselves, but not enough time to save herself from landing right on her back to avoid having her face be equal with his rump. She lay back in the snow, looking like a fluffy sunrise with her eyes staring up at the sky. “Hmm..perhaps it is no more than I deserve…Do you oil or water own your pelt every time we meet to avoid me being able to take you down?” Ah the refreshing mind of someone who truly thinks they are a worthy adversary. “As of yet she saw no reason to move, she just turned her now dark and unpleasant eyes to his face, because it was surely staring at her by now…What a way to start…

Coneiron continued to stroll through the rocks, his posture relaxed but his ears trained ahead for any sound that might betray what the lyxxus was up to, his nose flaring to catch any scents. The howl had not sounded like one of desperation nor a cry for help but then where was Kaly? Slightly concerned he moved a bit faster, head hunched in a quiet prowl as he silently moved through the maze of fallen rocks, wondering if perhaps a predator had also responded to Kaly’s howl and gotten here before him. But there was no trace of blood and the air did not reek of the foul smell that often accompanied danger.
Coneiron knew very well the scent that came from fear, desperation and rage, a stench that had consistently ruled his nose during his captivity in his pack’s enemy’s territory and he was particularly attuned to this six sense. It was fortunate enough that he did not catch any trace of it now for he did not want any more commotion, especially since the attack of the calagris. Waking up with mended bones, soothed bruised, perfectly healed scars and no soreness the next day had been a particularly unusual experience, but one the lupus was grateful for as he had not wanted to return to his family looking broken. Lupa had been through enough stress with Tauxic’s birth and he had not wanted to upset her, the gods granting him this favor and completely restoring his health.
He did not catch Kaly’s scent as she approached him from above and as he was plunged into his thoughts he did not catch the small scrape of nail against rock until it was too late. The familiar cryof victory roughly dragged him out of the haze he had been in and the sharp rake of claws through his fur and against his skin brought a stark bark of surprise from his chest. Flipping around he felt the smaller wolf fall to the ground with a thump and he narrowed his eyes at the little devil that was Kaly, a small mischievous glint sparking in his gaze. “Well what do we have here? I dare say it ever the pleasure to see you." Quickly advancing he gave the top of her head a slobbery lick was she was on the ground, and quickly calling on the snow to rise off the ground and freeze his creation. With a bit of luck the hair on the top of Kaly’s head might stand up in a mock mo-hawk as a result.
“My, what have you done with your fur dear? It is simply stunning if I may say so myself, you must give me the name of your stylist.” He gave her a dazzling grin of amusement before turning to give a couple of the deeper scratches a quick soothing lick. Hell and damnation, he thought quietly, the she-devil’s claws were rather sharp. Stretching he arched his back and gave his fur a quick shake, loosening the muscles that had been tight while he had searched for the lyxxus. His maw was open in a content grin, tail wagging in greeting as he pawed at the ground. “So you rang madame?” He gave her a mock sweeping bow before continuing, “And wouldn’t you know it I answered? So what mischief have you been up to lately?” The brute was glad to see his little friend in good health, though he wasn’t so sure she would be in good spirit after his little stunt.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,502,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i369/mo_avalon/WonderWhy/kalybg.png]As she was laying in the snow, realizing how very cold her backside was she had many thoughts, one being that her two tails were finally beginning to coordinate themselves, as they had both flopped to her left side together to avoid being painfully bent the wrong way. The other being that her friend looked entirely different, younger, more lean, his muscles more pronounced and everything about him seemed to just shine, not that he hadn’t before, but there was something entirely different about him as she looked up at him. He also smelled of a strange female…and another wolf of some sort that she could not pin point but that in itself was not surprising considering she had been gone for a substantial amount of time. However, her ears had gone back and not in any bad thought but of pure victory, she may not have held her position on his back but the fact that he did bark in surprise meant she was getting sneakier. Soon she would show Reynard, and anyone else who dared doubt her how talented she could be as a warrior, and not just a plain fighter but a stealthy one. Luring Coneiron had to count for something…right?
She continued to lay there as he whipped around and her ears went back again, out of pleasure and she idly licked her paw and claws as she looked at him with the most innocent of all looks…had she been able to pull it off. Actually she looked like a cat who had just slurped an entire saucer of cream and was quite content. What happened next however was not planned and was more than likely going to irritate the lyxxus beyond knowledge, but Coneiron seemed to be the only one who could get away with it without her attempting to claw his eyes out….yet….His slobbery lick was taken pretty much as expected, she shrieked and wriggled, attempting to get out from under him. “Ugh, oh! Get off me you big lug!” She groaned and tried to raise her eyebrows and eyes to see what she already assumed he had done to her….She then slammed her head into the ground into the snow and moved her head back and forth to try to remove his “creation”
She flopped over to her side and sat up, and then stood up shaking off the horrible snow that clung to her pelt. She hated this stuff, it was cold, and worse, it was wet, it melted and became that hated substance….water. She glared at him, “You’ll pay for that…that is the equivalent of taking a bath…” She hissed, as though that were truly a fate worse than death. She stalked around for a few moments before stopping in front of him. For once Kaly felt like blurting everything out as fast as she could. She wanted someone else to bear the burden that she had this crazy power, or craziness and the whole situation with Bri was just eating away at the small lyxxus’ insides to the point where she felt like she could spit and somehow it would resemble the golden hybrid. “You know as well as I do, you’d be bored without me here to keep you on your toes..I would say old man…but you look spy as a wolf half your age, what happened?” She chose to ignore the comment about her fur, seeing as he could consult himself on it, but she did chime in with, “Well you know, I know a great nail wolf you could see..” Smirking she watched as he licked her scratches.
“Well I had hoped you would answer since I specifically called you…as I am sure you noticed I have been gone for a while, and I figure if anyone can tell me what has been happening here, and happening with you, well it’s you. I mean I don’t particularly care about many wolves here but I suppose it’s better to be informed about things if I am coming back to hunt for this pack..” She couldn’t help the malice she felt, with Bri here it was just even worse, it was really only a matter of time until they ran into each other….her eyes darkened and squinted near evilly as she thought of that day, oh how she would hurt him…Instead of trying to attack the larger lupus in a fit of temper however, Kaly found herself to be very tired, maybe emotionally and mentally but tired none the less. She walked to Coneiron’s chest and slipped in between his front paws and actually flopped underneath his chest basically to share the benefit of his warmth especially for this conversation. Frankly, as far as she was concerned this whole powers and gifts things was totally unfair, Coneiron basically turned back time, and Kaly, well Kaly went crazy.
“Mischief…I am not sure if that is what I would call it, perhaps misery. I went traveling with..well with that jerk Brightness. He took me to the beach to meet his friend…a weird Yagi named Crow..who swims and fishes…and who proceeded to get me wet…” She purposely left off that he had given her a father large and tasty fish. “Which we were SUPPOSED to go see the prairie after that and come home, and then this weird thing happens…” She was near to the point of shrieking from stress as she told her friend what went wrong….”I am asleep one night, minding my own business, when I wake up, and he is cuddled all up next to me! Coneiron it was weird…I don’t mean like laying against one another like I am now for warmth I mean like…cuddly cuddly..!” She shivered for a moment remembering…although it wasn’t entirely a bad shiver…”Then I tell him, that I have to go think…and guess what!? HE LEAVES ME AT THE BEACH!” Her voice had finally find a breaking point and she huffed and smashed her face into the snow several times from frustration. “Leaves me! LEAVES ME to come all the way home from the ocean, BY MYSELF. Not that I needed him anyway! But it’s the principal of the matter.” She snorted her nose turned up in disgust as she turned her eyes up to try to see his face, “What do YOU make of it all?” |

"Speaking" Coneiron suppressed a heartfelt laugh, snorting in his amusement as he watched Kaly furtively dry and destroy his master piece. The snow was flying and he could tell he had gone and pissed of the spirited vixen, not that it was such a concern as it had rather been his intention all along, just retribution for sneaking up on him. Chiding he remarked, “Now now, the snow won`t hurt you dear.” A small replica of Kaly began to rise from the pile of frozen crystal, a vague swirling snow wolf that proceed to walk around the lyxxus in a pompous manner, two tails flicking to blow snow the small wolf`s way. Coneiron`s little snow creations had no defense or offense power, less he use them to mislead or confuse a trespasser, and were really an amusing pass time of his used to keep his son amused during the short winter days.
A small smirk of satisfaction crossed his maw, he had indeed been subjected to some rather drastic changes the past month, essentially he had reverted back to his youthful self and it brought him a rather joyful sense of elation. He had felt other wolves’ curious stares on his back, but no one had yet had the gumption to ask him about it, leave it to the spitfire lyxxus to point it out, he thought ruefully. “Couldn`t tell you for sure Kaly, but it seems as though the gods themselves have gifted me with my youth and good health.” He puffed his chest out slightly with his pride, a smug look on his maw as he kept his head up proudly. “And it seems it comes with the gift of healing, though it is not really a voluntary thing, I just wake up healed. “ That was the rather puzzling aspect of the matter, for it seemed as though he could not heal others, and his own healing only happened at night which meant he was not entirely undefeatable. Frustrating was what it was, it meant that his gift was of little consequence to others, it did not improve his ability to protect them, only his ability to stay healthy.
Coneiron puzzled over Kaly`s question, frankly he had not kept on what had occurred in the pack since the calagris attack, being too busy with his own family to really mind the events occurring around him, but at least he could report that to the she-wolf. “You talk to the wrong wolf if you wish to know what has benn occurring in the pack, all I can report is that we had a calagris attack and the High Chief barely made it through with his life. Several wolves, myself included, had to fight the beast and kill it in order to protect the pack and Reynard`s son.” Brightening visibly he thought of his new family, “I have actually taken a mate, and we have a son named Tauxic!” This brought a content smile to his maw and a wag to his dark tail, the family had given him a new direction and a purpose to life and despite the tricky balance between pack duty and family he had been rather fulfilled of late. “You will have to meet them, Lupa is simply wonderful and Tauxic is a joy to behold.” He announced proudly as any father would when speaking of his mate and pup. Coneiron`s tongue lolled a bit and frosty puffs of air escape from his body as he tasted the winter air.
The lupus felt Kaly settle into his warm pelt, perfectly at ease with sharing some of his warmth with the smaller wolf and gave her a quick friendly nudge. He considered the younger female to be his protégé and was rather fond of her antics despite the stinging claw marks, all things considered she was not a bad wolf at all and he had taken it upon himself to ensure her personal safety and to listen to her concerns. It was with diligent care that he payed attention to her story now, ears perked forward in silent contemplation of what she was telling him. So Kaly had found herself a beau of sorts? It wasn`t entirely surprising, though it would figure the spirited female had chosen to take an interest in the mafia refugee wolf, and this brought a slight frown to his maw. He would have to pay the male wolf a visit and found out exactly what his intentions towards Kaly were, Coneiron would not have males taking advantage of her, at least not on his watch. Naturally he kept this observation to himself, knowing the lyxxus would likely discourage the activity.
Coneiron took a second to consider his response, mulling over the situation and debating whether Brightness had simply used Kaly or if Kaly had perhaps scared the poor fellow off with her spirited manners. Knowing Reynard to be the type to only accept trustworthy enough members into the pack he had to assume it was a bit more of the later, which brought a knowing smile to his maw. Poor bloke did not stand a chance against the lyxxus, he only hoped the fellow had a thick pelt. Careful to hide his amusement he said, “Well, it sounds as though he rather fancies you, perhaps enough to respect your wish for space?” Tentatively he added, “It may very well be that he thought you would not want his presence near you? I am sure he must have a plausible excuse, though to leave a lady alone in a strange territory is not the most chivalrous choice.” A smile lit his face as a thought crossed his mind, “Would you like me to beat him?” He raised a brow questioningly; curious to know what effect his words would have on her.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,502,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i369/mo_avalon/WonderWhy/kalybg.png]Her dark eyes, nearly black all the way around glared at him from the short distance that separated him. No matter what he said about snow not hurting she was of a slight, if not large differing opinion. Snow just like water would and could very well kill you and cause you harm, emotionally and physically. She was just as much aware of that if not more so, although the irony of it was that her only considered friend in this particular pack was a water lupus, and it was an irony that honestly should have irritated her more than it did. All around she was finding things she was doing to be irreversible and rather crazy and although she would have smiled the snow on her head and back was beginning to melt and send rivulets of cold, freezing cold water through her pelt, to the very delicate skin beneath, cause her to shake and then shake some more to rid herself of the horrible feeling of the water invading her. Oh he would pay. Surely he would pay.
Her eyes watched in varying degrees of anger as the lyxxus statue rose from the snow and began to blow more snow her way, and would you look at that, it had two tails just like her. Her eyes narrowed and she twitched her nose left and right. “You know that does nothing for me, no color, and not nearly enough attitude.” She snorted and her two tails swished back and forth with aggravation, before he legs tightened, the only cue she was going to give before she tackled the substance to the ground and kicked up the small tuft of snow into Coneiron’s face. Okay, so perhaps she didn’t have immeasurable patience, but her journey and her experiences had made her a little wiser, she was definitely sneakier, although no less of an evil temperament she simply also seemed to be able to mix humor into the situation, to a degree at least. She listened to his explanation of being gifted by the gods with this insane ability to have his prime days back before him again. Yet again she was near green, rather red with envy, it just was not fair, here she was cursed and Coneiron blessed. Although she supposed, he did deserve some goodness for all he had been through.
Her eyes turned into dark slits as he also stated he had the ability to heal, oh this was just not fair. Moonrose had been given a power, she had even heard a few whispers of Nocht and other members of the pack having gained many neat, offensive, and defensive powers, but what did she have? The ability to see things, whoo. Let’s not be too terribly excited. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and her maw parted in a deep frown which did nothing but mar what little beauty she had to her face to begin with…’No wonder Bri doesn’t want anything to do with me after all, I’m crazy and not powerful, he could have his pick of powerful females in this pack, or anywhere really…’ She was fully paying attention when he mentioned the calagris attack and groaned outwardly, “Of course I miss all the action!” As she had been out on the beach eating fish, she could have been here proving her worth, she had to have the luck of a squirrel with no tail in an open field. It just could not have gotten worse, or so she thought until Coneiron proceeded to tell her he had taken a mate and had a puppy of his own.
Not Coneiron! She thought she had an ally, someone who understood her way of things, and here he had done what she thought she would never do, end up with a pup, and a mate and all those stupid things. She just couldn’t believe this was happening to her. Then he said something about her meeting them and her eyes immediately became wide as saucers, she didn’t need to meet his little family he had acquired in the time it had taken her to leave and get herself stomped on, Why did she need to be around another couple who were all lovey and dovey with each other and worse then that there would be a small puppy racing around. By the smell of things there weren’t plenty of pups and young ones running around the area which only served to aggravate Kaly more then anything else. She mumbled something about meeting them, but nothing concrete or nice about it, but nothing insulting either. For good or bad Coneiron was her friend and she supposed if he enjoyed having a mate and a young one she could deal with that but it didn’t mean she had to get along with them completely either.
When she did settle into his pelt she sighed contentedly, he was warm, and since she had first met him she had looked up to Coneiron, she wanted to be a warrior like him and he tolerated her constant sneak attacks. In his own way he had endeared himself to her and she was more likely to tolerate and do things with him that others could only wish for. The sound that escaped from between her lips was close to the sound of a purr. She had no such thing of a hint of Coneiron’s thoughts as she explained the story in most of it’s entirety to her friend, caught up in her impassioned response. She looked up when he began to speak, sensing a rumbling of sorts within his stomach, clueing her in to the fact that he had had enough to mull over the scenario and give his opinion now. She thought on what he said, the few people who knew the situation all said Bri fancied or liked her, and it was painfully clear she liked him but Coneiron was the first to say he might have respected her. It put a thoughtful look on her face as she pushed herself against the warmth of him considering the validity of his remarks.
She sheepishly spoke then, “Well I did tell him I needed time to think…” Not that she wanted to admit that she might have had a hand in their whole…falling out per say but maybe she did, and maybe Bri was just following her wishes, but as Coneiron said it was maybe not the best of choices but her mind was all a fuzz with the fact that she had a bigger hand in it then she thought. She snorted and spat slightly thinking all the things over. To his offer to beat Bri she turned her ears back playfully and nodded, “While I think that might be amusing to watch and it sure would teach him a lesson, I am not sure it would get the right message across.” She stared up at him for a long moment, “What do I do now Coneiron? He probably hates me….” Her tails drooped down and her ears went back as she shoved her face into his chest with a muffled sound of defeat. |

ooc: Sometimes I can be a real shit, sorry for not replying Chess!
- - - Coneiron resisted the urge to laugh at the little fire cat nestled into his fur, making him feel almost like an older brother. What might it have been like to have siblings with which to play and grow up side by side? Coneiron had been chosen as the strongest from a royal litter, the rest of the brood having being killed to prevent challenge of his eventual claim of the throne. It seemed terribly cruel and heartless to the older warrior, his pack had been strong and cold, forced to live a hardened lifestyle to maintain their status and the safety of the pack. The young male had suffered through some rather harsh and solitary training before even being put into contact with other wolves in order to keep his young mind focused on his education. Certainly the techniques had worked, but the lupus did not consider it to be the best way to raise a young, though in many ways it had been his saving grace for without such harsh training he would not have survive his imprisonment under enemy territory. It was sad to think that his mother`s sacrifice had been for naught, the loss of her other pups had been in vain for Coneiron was ruler of none and nor would he have wished to take charge of such a harsh command.
Maybe this was why he yearned so much for a family? He had always thought this desire to have been buried long ago, but with Lupa`s arrival this yearning had been rekindled and he had found himself in utter bliss when his mate had given him the honor of being Tauxic`s adopted father. To be true he still wanted his own brood to carry on his lineage, but the little lupus Tauxic was still loved as one of his very own blood and he was proud of all the progress the youth had been making. Coneiron had not taught him in the ways of defense yet, he wanted the youngster to enjoy his youth and the precious time that pups had to frolic before introducing him to the reality that not all was peaceful in the world of wolves. At the least the Lumara Valley offered his family a safe place to grow for the pack was rather family oriented and far enough away from the Mafia to not be threatened by darker wolves that cared not for the life of those they destroyed.
It was perhaps this desire to have a family that caused him to consider Kalylia as part of it, but he wasn`t sure how the little hellion might take such news. No, sometimes he supposed things were best left unsaid though to be certain he now considered the lyxxus` well being as part of his responsibility and her best interests at heart. So who was this Bri fellow? Coneiron would need to investigate into the matter because no one that was not deserving of Kaly would pass his test. Had the First Guardian known that the male in question was a Mafia runaway he might have discouraged the spirited female from pursuing her interests and he himself would have delivered a more aggressive message to the suitor in question. But luckily for the young pair the older wolf remained oblivious to this fact and so he pondered her rather serious question. Frankly it was certainly not his place to even debate such a question, he could not tell another what course of action to take, however it was Kaly that had asked it and so he would try to find a reasonable answer without telling her what to do.
Sighing he looked down upon the smaller wolf and gave her head an affectionate pat with his chin, troubles of the young were always amusing and it was rather rejuvenating to be allowed a part in them. His ears flicked back as he decided what to say, tail swishing across the ground with his thoughts as a small crease appeared between his brow. “Well most would say follow your heart and such stuff, but frankly that is the easy brush off. I cannot tell you what to do miss spitfire, but seems to be if this fellow if worth his salt then perhaps he might realize a mistake as being simply a misunderstanding on both parts?” The lupus tipped his head to the side questioningly, letting her decided for herself if his words rang true or not. Mostly it was food for thought that might help direct her own on the path of an answer without actually giving one himself. It was all a rather confusing situation to say the least and he paled at the thought of having to go through such matters again if he ever had daughters of his own.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,502,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i369/mo_avalon/WonderWhy/kalybg.png]Kaly was just in such a state of being in hell, where if one were to actually look at her life from the outside she seemingly had it pretty good. Here she had been gifted with a male who by all accounts loved her, and whom she loved back, she had a pack she belonged to…hell she had even managed to make a few friends along the way albeit ones she did not think would ever happen. Moonrose, whom had said she would flay the fur from her body after their first encounter, and Coneiron who liked to torture her with that hated substance of water. She even had Nocht who was the center of her world as far as torture went, in fact thinking of the other red lyxxus she was beginning to formulate devious plans to put the male on edge, for at least that would make her feel better. Oh yes, her existence did more than naught mean doing things that upset or pissed off others, it was surprising anyone liked her let alone loved her. Thinking of love brought up the picture of Bri again and she sniffled slightly unable to contain how upset she was. She pushed her head back into Coneiron’s fur and muffled and whimpered slightly, just indulging her crappy mood for as long as she could.
She pulled back slightly and looked up at the larger water lupus and put a paw to the side of her face to try to fix it back to it’s regular scowl which seemed to be in permanent placement as far as she was concerned, it was safer. But now look at how things had changed, Coneiron would stay young forever and he had taken a mate and even had a pup, how could he be the same playful wolf who had taken her swimming? “Coneiron everything is changing…everyone around me is mating up, having pups, getting cool powers…and so when I think I have something good going it always changes..soon enough you’ll be leaving me like Bri has done..” The thought was very hurtful to the lyxxus who was soon to turn two, and just like everything else another year would go by and she would be alone yet her world would be turned upside down. It was as if she wanted to stretch and scream up to whomever was in charge to stop the world and let her off! She couldn’t handle all this change within the first two years of life, and she surely could not fathom or think about surviving it for many many years.
She waited attentively to Coneiron’s forth coming advice, and frankly she thought he could consider himself lucky, she wouldn’t have asked that many other people despite how the situation was driving her nearly to madness. In the time since she had gotten back, she had not even shown that much interest in hunting or anything else. It was a wonder she still had muscles on her small, compact body. Eyes the darkest color of midnight blur stared up at him and in that moment she realized just how important Coneiron was to her. She had missed him even when she had been traveling with Bri, and now that that had fallen through he was the first one she had run to, she really didn’t know if she saw him more as a father figure or as a sibling, for neither of them had apparently been graced with siblings and really didn’t know how to act as much. Shaking her head to clear it of idle thoughts she tried to bring her head back to the matter at hand and give him her full attention.
The affectionate pat was taken in stride and she only half heartedly reached up to try to strike at him with her paw. Although as his tail began to swish back and forth and kick up snow she could not help but eye it with…distracted abandon. In fact for a long moment she considered pouncing it for sheer pleasure when she heard his voice rumble up from his stomach and he began to speak. Her own tail switched back and forth with nervous energy and tension. “How long should I wait to see if he realizes it? This is driving me crazy, but I can’t be the one to seek him out..what would I ever do if he runs from me…?! He’s already avoiding me beyond reason, he’s pretty much dropped off the planet..” She sniffed and slapped at the snow by her feet and pushed herself in between his front legs again. “I hate this now its cold, and wet, and even my den doesn’t keep me one hundred percent dry…I want spring to come..” Although with spring came new puppies and all that lovey nonsense but right now she would be willing to stomach that before anything else. “Why can’t everything stay the same Coneiron..?”
So now we came to the root of Kaly’s problem, she just couldn’t handle all the changes and her eyes turned upwards, even though from her vantage point she couldn’t see Coneiron’s face she was still listening. But she was still glancing at his tail with a rather mischievous smile on her face and without much warning, she reached out with her forepaw and made several failed attempts at grabbing it. However, after a few long moments she made a successful grab, clawed his tail and proceeded to quickly slither out from his legs to bite into his tail with the worst of intentions. Though she didn’t mean to actually hurt him she desperately needed the distraction and it had always worked in the past. She could only hope that the friend she had made that played with her before would continue to be full of spunk enough to continue to entertain her, especially in her time of woe.

"Speaking" Coneiron was finally beginning to grasp the root of the issue here, he had been trying to piece together what was really bothering Kaly since this odd conversation had started but had not wanted to jump to conclusions. The lupus generally found that if one exerted enough patience and restraint the truth would always reveal itself and the assumptions only served to further conceal the root of the matter. It was true that the lupus had never been the type to rush into a situation and enjoyed living life at a relaxed pace, now that he had eternal youth he was beginning to think that he would certainly be enjoying a great deal more of it, and so he was not in any rush to be going anywhere. He was mildly surprised that Kaly thought he would simply abandon her because he now had a family, though he was now beginning to see how she might feel with everyone pushing forward. But the lyxxus was still young, she had plenty of time to catch up in the coming moons and the First Guardian well sympathized with this youthful notion of change always being a bad thing.
Stiffling a grin he said, “And where’s about do you suppose I might be leaving too miss Kaly?” He gave her a playful shove of his strong nose between the shoulder blades, “If anything I think you are rather stuck with me, if you can handle it of course…” His eternal youth pretty well ensured that everyone would by far be leaving him before he ever left them, though the lupus was not yet aware of this tragic side effect, most would grow old and die while Coneiron remained young and healthy, out living his mate, pups, friends and enemies. For now the reality was simply that he felt great and seemed to wake up perfectly rejuvenated every morning, thus allowing him to effectuate his duties with increased accuracy and the ability to provide more for his family. However, in time things would change and his life would ever stay the same while everything else changed around him. In that respect Kaly was terribly wrong and Coneiron would eventually know what it felt like to be lonely once again. Huffing in exasperation Coneiron pointed out, “Exactly how old are you miss melodramatic? When you have lived for 9 years then maybe you can complain about everyone mating up, but for now you have your whole life ahead of you, a giant slate of unwritten wonders and unconquered dreams. Cheer up, things always have a way of working out even if it is not in the way we expect them too, you’ll see.” Coneiron said with confidence, he knew about feeling hopeless and fearing that nothing could ever be good in life.
Coneiron counted himself among the lucky that had established a relation with Kaly, he wanted to be there for the female when she needed someone to come to for advice just as he wanted to be a reliable source of positivity and he was a loyal friend. The lupus watched without surprise as Kaly pounced after his tail, grabbing at it with her sharp claws and pointed teeth and then smirked, slowing down long enough for her to catch him and then with one powerful wag tipped his tail enough so that she would be stuck under it and upside down if all worked. For this simple pleasure he did not mind the small pinpricks of pain that radiated when her claws racked at the skin under the surface of his pelt for it was worth allowing her this interaction and in many ways Coneiron enjoyed rough housing with the spirited lyxxus. He suspected that just as everyone did, Kaly had her own issues to work out, and if the Great Spirits saw fit she too would find her place of contentment. If Bri truly did love Kaly then he would see past her mistake and would forgive her that was what real love was for after all. Coneiron smiled in anticipation, maybe that would mean less claws holes in his own skin and he got up with spirit, forgetting that Kaly was still attached to his tail.
Crouching down playfully he gave a couple deep throated barks, “Well my dear, don’t wait too long, if he loves you he will forgive, if he doesn’t then it will be his loss won’t it? Things must change, tis just the way it is, now enough of this dis-heartedness, let’s go see what the valley has to offer as prey for us?” He invited Kaly to go hunting with him, having noticed she did seem to weigh less than the last time he had seen her. A passing herd of dear had been grazing the meadow of late and with some luck they would be able to pick off a weaker one to restore their energy. His tail came up to curl slightly as he inclined his head in the direction of the meadow, taking off at a light trot through the crispy grass, weaving away from the deeper snow as he prowled. With his power he blew the piles away, leaving dryer ground behind him for the lyxxus to walk upon as he moved towards the meadow. Coming to the crest of a hill he crouched lower in the grasses and peered at the small grouping bellow him, eyes picking out a smaller and more frail dear on the edges of the clearing. He them waited for Kaly to catch up so that they could proceed to stalk it together and with a bit of luck a fine feast awaited them.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,502,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i369/mo_avalon/WonderWhy/kalybg.png]Now granted, Kaly definitely had issues with the idea of everyone abandoning her, and everything changing on her. Every time change came into her life it came with these life shattering alternatives that she had no idea what to do with. The loss of her parents had set her up from the start to have problems and she supposed that she and Bri were the same in that regard, Bri seemingly wanted to be more independent, rather he was forced to be. Kaly had also been forced to grow up and become independent by the paws of fate itself it would seem. She had thought that they had so very much in common, and he much like Coneiron was more than content to let the little spitfire have her way in a number of situations. Even Moonrose was more likely to indulge her desires and wishes, it would seem that any wolf that had gotten to know her, seemed to indulge her despite her bad attitude and sharp claws, and for that she couldn’t hate change, it had brought her more people she could lean on if she could ever really lean on them. She seemed to gravitate more towards males, and Coneiron having made the impression he did, often saw the softer side of Kaly, shocking as it was.
When he asked her where he might be leaving to she sniffed indignantly and said, “I don’t know, you might just up and leave with your family one day, go somewhere else where I can’t go…” The thought of Coneiron actually leaving frightened her, he was like a big brother to her, almost fatherly but she knew she wouldn’t follow him if he did go…she could never deal with being a fourth wheel tagging on to his family…and with the coming of her second tail she simply couldn’t risk the idea of tagging on to someone’s happiness. At two she was supposed to be more independent and able to be on her own especially by now and with all her vigorous training and hunting. When he pushed her between the shoulder blades she gave him a half-hearted hiss but hunched her shoulders and leaned back against his nose, turning the gesture into something more affectionate, perhaps she was feeling more vulnerable than she had intended to. Then he stated she was stuck with him and she finally smiled and looked up at him with her eyes, for the first time a smile had actually went all the way to her eyes as she said softly, “Thank you Coneiron…”
When he began to point out the flaws in her logic pointing out how old she was, she huffed at him, “I am very old! I am TWO!” Exasperated she decided that she would have to try to believe him in that things would work out, even if it wasn’t the way she thought it should work out. If anything had been accomplished she felt a little better and she knew that Coneiron would always be there for her, to take care of her and protect her. For these reasons she felt a little bit of the tension fall off her shoulders and she shook herself out slightly attempting to re-fluff herself in the right way. Continuing to play with his tail, not thinking about how sharp her claws or teeth might have been against his tail. But seeing as she was slightly distracted she didn’t see the move coming and realized a little too late that she was now covered in his fluffy tail, not only was she under it but she was upside down. The realization sent her into a hit of wriggling and wiggling to attempt to detach and right herself into a more favorable position….a slight screech resounded from her muzzle as she attempted to move. Before she could disentangle herself from him he stood up and moved.
“Coneiron, I’M STILL BACK HERE!” She made several gruff and high pitched noises as she finally freed herself, only to plummet to the ground with a harsh thump….at some point during her fall she realized that she might be getting to old to be thrown around like a rag doll. However, being the stubborn little thing that she was, she refused to say that out loud for any reason. Sitting up and shaking her head to become more righted in her own perception of things she nodded when he told her that things must change, she supposed there was no way she could stop it…but she still believed she might die of a broken heart if Bri didn’t love her. But Coneiron was ever there to change things for her and brought up the subject of a meal and Kaly nodded enthusiastically. The first time she had met the large male lupus they had gone hunting and so it brought back rather good memories for her. She began to follow and noticed that as he moved her own gait had to be twice as fast to keep up, but the little sun burst was a streak to be reckoned with as she plowed her way through now dry ground thanks to her friend.
‘When he isn’t torturing me with the water powers I can see how they must come in handy..’ Her smile was restored as her paws lightly stepped on the dry ground and her fluffy tail wagged back and forth, although held down as to not alert any of the prey they were going after. She of course fell behind, no matter how fast she ran Coneiron could easily out distance her considering their size difference, but she kept going at an even pace, attempting to not exhaust herself before they found something to eat. As they came to the top of the hill she found him crouching down and took the opportunity to climb onto his back so that she could have a vantage point to see from. As usual her claws dug in so that she wouldn’t go tumbling off of him down the hill but she did follow his eyes to the doe in question. She nodded, her tail swishing against his pelt in anticipation, she had never been able to take down a deer before, her own size limiting her. But she had no doubt with the larger male at her side it could be done and she couldn’t help but dig in for purchase with her own excitement. She quickly removed herself from his back and began to slink down the hill, trying to remain out of sight…it might be easier for her to try to flush the deer to Coneiron, seeing as he was bigger..the deer would run from her regardless because she smelled like predator but she would have to depend on Coneiron to make the kill for her…and so that was the plan she put into motion, hoping he would see it from where he was, and where he was headed. |
