The hybrid pup wandered into the clearing. Everything looked so different through new and troubled eyes. She came to rest in the center as she felt the tears stream down her face. She had not seen much of her mother or siblings, and she was beginning to wonder if she really cared. Her father was her whole world after all, and if he was gone... what else mattered? Her body shook violently as each sob came as she choked on her own congestion.
"Why me?? Why of all people?!" she hoped she was alone so no one could hear her scream. She continued to think of her dreams of standing a top the mountain ranges, her mind wandered for a bit as the thoughts of her and her father roamed her mind. If not for myself, at least for you father... I will find Kakoumadaiji and claim it as my own land! I will kill only in your likeness. Only for your approval, your appreciation, your... love...
Kirai sobbed again, she would no longer attach herself with such trivial names. That was the one her mother had given her... not her father. She remembered the first time she held a conversation with her father.
"Daddy?"
"Please, call me father... it's too childish when you address me like that Kirai." He kept his gaze from her as she played with his tails.
"Father?"
"Yes Kirai?"
"I don't like my name momma gave me! I want to be named after something more special!"
"Oh? And what would that be?" He rolled her over to clean her puppy fluff. She protested at first but found herself slowly soothed by the feeling.
"Kakoumadaiji!"
"Kakou-who?"
"The mountains in my dreams, they call to me... that's their name. I will name them that and that will be my name too!"
"One with the mountains. huh?" He chuckled lightly as he turned to lick the tuft of fur on her forehead. "My little Kakoumadaiji then. I like it. Whatever suits you then dear."
"I love you daddy.."
"That's Mr.Daddy to you.." He smiled softly and for a moment Kirai thought she was in his arms again, almost could feel him holding her and grooming her fur. His smell lingered in her mind. But he soon vanished from her reality as it slowly all came back to her.
"Father. I will.. make you... proud..." She wiped tears from her face as she rubbed her swore right ear, a scar that would haunt her forever. A scar that she probably in all honesty, she deserved but didn't mind. It made her look more bad ass in her opinion. None of her other siblings has fought yet, so they wouldn't know. She felt pride swell up for once as she stood up. Ready to brawl with whoever challenged her in the open space.
