. She was lying against the smooth surface of the tree roots, it was quite uncomfortably but she didn't care. Her golden eyes gleamed in the darkness as she scanned her surroundings. It was past midday therefore it was unlikely to have females, except for the new puppies, sleeping around here at this time. Her head fell to her paws again, disturbed by how at ease she was with living in a pack. Hawk thought she was too feral to be tamed, but obviously she was wrong. No one could be that wild. Wolves were naturally easy to tame, especially in a pack. But this pack was restricting females, and she hated this idea. Yet it scared her how accepting she appeared of this idea; it was like she had completely given up. Scents of several wolves kept hitting her nostrils, most of them recent. Normally this many scents would bother her, but today she just brushed them off like they were nothing, no, not nothing but familiar. It was odd. She didn't feel like she was a part of the pack; there was no welcoming talk from the alpha, in fact she hadn't seen Ahote yet, and no greetings from her denmates. Instead her denmates just stared at her like she was some kind of a disfigured freak. This was how Hawk got through her day. Torturing herself with these repetitive thoughts every single day. Until yesterday. But today these thoughts were returning. What was she? A pitiful coward who refused to see light of the day. This den might as well be her tomb with the same dark, striped, and smooth surface. She knew what each root looked like, even in the darkness, and what they felt like under her paw. This was when she caught herself. She was thinking about roots and how they looked. Why? What was the point in knowing what they looked like?! She should be outside, fighting for herself instead of slinking away to hide in the darkest corner of her den. For a moment, she felt the old Hawk's presence in her mind, ashamed of how she had changed. But it was gone as quickly as it had appeared. But the presence had given her a small amount of courage to crawl towards the den mouth. She did. Soon her face was exposed to natural light and she squinted, her eyes a couple of golden slits on the dark face. Luckily the trees had blocked out most of light so she wasn't blinded too much; she could see practically everything through the small gaps between her eyelids. Mainly a forest. Trees here and there. She felt a small, heavy ball of fear inside her starting to explode, starting to scream at her to run back to her tomb. She froze, her limbs rigid, and her eyes slowly opening wide into an unblinking stare of a cornered prey. Fight or flight. Hawk was leaning towards flight. The miniature hybrid stretched as she rolled around in the den area. Her large ears twitched for any foreign shuffle, any foreign movement near or around her. A certain noise in a direction she had not heard before came to her mind as she perked up to see who or what was causing such a commotion. She was trying to sleep damnit! Didn't this other wolf know some wolves simply didn't roam during the day? That also reminded Kirai about her horrifying experience with her siblings the other day.
Them and the rest of her family (minus her father as usual) had decided to go out for a picnic. They took prey the other males had left for them and proceeded to try and drag her along into the sun. Though it was short-lived as her temper flared and she growled and threatened to lash out at her siblings. She didn't like them, and they were always constantly asking for her attention. She had better things to do than 'play'. She had to start proving herself to her father before anything. Her father... He wasn't around much and this displeased her further. She loved her father, why wouldn't he try to see her for the mature wolf she was becoming?
"Well, are ya gonna go out or not?" Kirai huffed a sigh as she made her way over to the... errr... was it a keiyou? Or what used to be of one apparently. The pup tried to hide her smirk as she noted the black wolf's lost appendage. Thats funny, a keiyou that can no longer fly, is a dead one. She remembered her mother speaking of how wolves that could have the gift to fly, taken away from then, becoming helpless and distraught. That was most likely this wolf's case. "You gotta name? Or are you just gonna keep stare 'in at the outside world and ignore me?" She laid down not far behind her left blind spot. This wolf would prove interesting to interact with. Kirai's stomach grumbled and the idea that this wolf's wing might still be decaying somewhere nearby drove her mad.
"I don't suppose you know where you left your other buncha featherz... do ya? I was hoping I could have a midday snack.." The cynical pup chuckled darkly, merely joking but all the while still curious about what it really did taste like. "Gah this place sucks..." she mumbled under her breath as she began to groom herself, awaiting a reply from the larger keiyou.

She definitely would if she was given the chance. She would take pleasure from watching the griffin tearing into this colourful bitch. She cackled loudly, a noise horrifically scratchy and throaty. This pup was really a bitch. Who were her parents? Hawk would gladly rip their pup-making parts out to prevent them from making more demon pups. "This place is gonna suck even more when I'm done with you." Her hackles rose and she felt her unused muscles starting to flex for the first time in ages and her tail lashed wildly. The colourful pelt sickened her to stomach; it was sickeningly sweet. It must be precious for this pup. Just like a wing was precious for her. The bitch would know what she was feeling during those past few weeks. Her claws clacked on ground as she darted toward the pup with her jaws snapping for blood, eager to hear and feel the precious multicoloured coat tearing from her tiny body. She deserved this! The small pup had an epiphany as she saw what was happening only split seconds before the actual strike. She side-stepped the other grown wolf and laughed down at her hoping she enjoyed pushing her body to it's limits only to have her own body weight thrown against itself. "I wouldn't, you maybe recovering stranger... but you still don't have balance without that other wing of yours..." a wide smirk on her devilish lips. Kirai loved to tease this poor soul, it made her hunger for the keiyou's flesh.
Mmmm, I wonder...what she tastes like... probably sooo bitter... so bitterly sweet. The sadistic pup licked her maw as she watched the other wolf pass right by her. It seems I have been gifted with the power to predict things before they happen... interesting... but I cannot simply let the future play on the present... it can always change... she reminded herself as she took caution in whatever the other female was to present to her. Her first fight and she was already the one on top.
"Come on wittle bitchy whore...hehe..." Kirai giggled as if to piss her off more. She wanted so bad to sink her canines into her recovering wound. To hear the flesh rip open again and taste the fresh blood. What would her parents think of her now? She didn't really give a damn at that point in time... what they didn't know about her wouldn't hurt... right? Besides, they were bound to find out when she got older and did something unforgivable to be kicked out of the pack, so why did it matter... hmmm? What was that other wolf doing now? Could she harness her powers to predict it again before it happened?

how the presence of the past Hawk sometimes appeared in her mind, showing her how ashamed she was before vanishing again. It was as if the past Hawk enjoyed torturing the broken Hawk by criticising herself instead of helping her. Was that who she really was? Was she that self-pitying? She wouldn't know. The broken Hawk was merely a shell filled with fear, anger and confusion. Nothing else and this frightened her. Would she ever experience other emotions, especially the less violent ones? Not as far as she knew. Would anyone help her? All of the familiar faces were brutally removed from her mind except for Alucio. He was the only friendly face she knew and she hadn't seen him for a while, a long while. Because of this she hated him too. It seemed that everything and everyone were deserting her at her time of need; Alucio, her memories, and herself. All of this fear and anger which she fed and nurtured carefully during those long weeks. She hated that too. It was a ticking time bomb. Someday soon it would explode and take her down with it. Perhaps it would be today. Her golden eyes blazed with resurged energy as she glared at the pup in front of her. In a moment she would feel her warm body under her paws where she can tear her into pieces. Instead her paws hit the cold earth where the pup had been only a second earlier. Snarling, Hawk whipped around and saw the bitch laughing at her only a few inches away from the raging keiyou. This pup was right, her balance wasn't right. She stumbled from the spin and collapsed into an awkward pile with her wing sticking up above her. Somewhere in the dark, spitting bundle of fury, couple of striking golden eyes stared furiously up at the small pup. Hawk recoiled as she saw the sadistic pup staring down at her, licking her lips. What the hell was this bitch thinking about? She wasn't sure if she wanted to know. "Come on wittle bitchy whore...hehe..." The childish voice of the pup made the words sound too innocent. Hawk twitched her ears but her body did not move. She stayed in the same position, glaring up at the puppy with clear blazing hatred in her eyes. If look could kill, the pup would drop in an instant. Suddenly her golden stare dropped to ground, an act of submission, and all of her previous tensed muscles drooped. Her lashing tail went limp. Hawk's entire body language showed that she had submitted to this little silly puppy, telling her that she was dominant. But her brain was still alert, preparing to command her muscles to spring. This was a trap and hopefully the bitch would fall for it. The pup was intelligent but surely she wasn't that clever as she was still a child. She waited and waited until she thought her submission was long enough to be believable. Then her wing closed to her side tightly, flattening itself against her body, hoping that it would give her better balance and she sprang up. Her head darted forward noiselessly in an attempt to snap at the pup's head, or at least her ears. [/blockquote][/ul]

Kirai felt the other wolf burn a whole into her with her glare. She felt a bit uneasy to say the least as she gulped, a glob of slobber wedged between her lungs. She cleared her throat as she tried to harness her power again before it merely overthrew her, sending her into the near future. That's when she saw it... not of Hawk's attack but of something worse. Worse than anything she could imagine.
"Right. And what are you going to do about it?"
The all too familiar scent of her father rushing to her nostrils as the world spun around her instantaneously. Her father's blood covered her as she cried out in reality of what her ability was showing her. Her father's death right before her very eyes. The monitor lizard foster parent by the name of draco, latching his strong teeth over her father's crippled body as he slung the body into a nearby lake. She was unsure what had happened or who had done what. All she was sure of... was that he was in danger. That her father was destined to die if she did not warn him.
But who would believe a lowly pup?
She cried out again, but not from anything her vision was allowing her... she felt blood trickle down the side of her face as a burning sensation came from the top of her skull. Why was her hearing all muffled suddenly in one ear? She turned around to spot Hawk on the other side of her, a tuft of yellow fur clenched between her jaws. Was that? Did it belong to her? She trembled with fear and confusion. What was going on? Where was her father just moments ago??
Kirai could not muster the strength to put two and two together as she muttered and shuddered, not able to form solid words. Fear lacing her features... she could care less of the burning pain coursing through her right ear.. but that image... she couldn't get it out of her mind.
"D-daddy?" Her whole right side of her face covered in her own blood and tears as she raced out into the open world and let out a low and solemn howl. She sobbed to herself as she became hysterical with tears and mixed emotions. But she paused... it was only a vision right? She could still stop it from happening, as long as she never let her father out of her sights! So she ignored the new crippled wolf to wallow in her emotions as she burst off to find her idol... her center of her life.
