OOC Information OOC Name: Fish Link to Previous Character: ....
General Name: Tainted Alias: Ta'int Species: Lumen Gender: Female Age: 44 years Pack: Loner Rank: n/a
Physical
Height: 37 inches
Weight: 25 pounds
Appearance: Tainted is of an interesting appearance, both visually and of something else. She is all black, but with rings of pure white around her front paws. She has multiple stripe-like spots on her lower back, and her hind paws are all white. One ear is tipped with a slightly duller white, and her right eye is surrounded with a white pattern, almost like fire. Tainted has shiny, glossy, smooth fur, but the fur on her tail is rough and coarse, due to the damaged fur from her tail catching on fire when she was young. She moves in two different ways, at first smoothly gliding along the ground, but her movement is hitched, where every few minutes she would limp. Her nose is all black, save for a small pink spot at the tip that is almost in the shape of a triangle. Tainted's eyes are an almost florescent pink, glowing in the dark. Her ears are slightly bigger than most, but it is nothing that you would notice from far away. She has a slightly childish voice, but it is smooth and sweet. Her claws are as sharp as razors, but her teeth have been worn down over the years.
Other: Tainted's paw pads are speckled with red flecks.
Mental Strengths:
* She can understand. Although her way of speaking is confusing and hard to figure out, Tainted can know exactly what a wolf feels like just by paying attention to five things; Eyes, voice, way of walking, and apparent emotion. * She's smart. Tainted talks in riddles not only because of her mind, but because she wants to determine what the wolf she is talking to is like. *Observant. Tainted will often take in information and process it in a way that most wolves avoid, but often it yields strange but true results. * Tainted is a great climber. Her claws give great purchase. * She looks ahead of what is happening now. Tainted tries to figure out what will happen in the near future to influence what she does now. However, this can be her downfall. Tainted lives in the future, and often she dwells in the past at the same time. Not good for her already sick mind.
Weaknesses: * Her name came from her state of mind, which is tainted with insanity. This insanity isn't bad, but mild enough to affect the way she sees, speaks, and thinks. * Tainted struggles to be understood. She doesn't just speak weird for fun. She can't stop. If she wanted to say, "I'm thirsty, where's water?", the sentence would end up as: "Water, location? Thirsty is I." * Tainted can't control what she does or sees. She often might suddenly lash out or see something that isn't there. Hallucinations. * Tainted will always speak her mind. Not good on some parts. * She's constantly following other wolves until they attack her, then after that she tries to stay away from them. She will stick to her first impression of others for a pretty long time until she decides to change it. *Tainted has a deep resentment for other Lumen, even if they are the nicest wolves in the world. If she's in a good mood she might just be cautious of a Lumen, but if she's into her darker half, she might try to do something.
Personality: Tainted is hard to explain. Sometimes she's a nice, polite, slightly annoying wolf, and other times she has a cold heart and mind. She isn't who she seems to be at all. Tainted has two main hallucinations, one is a wolf called Fish that influences what she does for her own good, and the other one takes on many forms, and often is behind her darker side. This dark hallucination is called Torn.Tainted has two different personalities, one wicked, and one innocent. Here are the different ones: Dark Tainted: Tainted has this way of acting completely different when she is with one wolf than when she is with another. She likes to confuse the minds of others, often twisting their words against them. Tainted acts like the innocent pup she used to be, but if you aren't careful, you'll find yourself somehow giving her food and doing her will. Tainted will stick to you like a bug and slowly drain the life out of you, keeping you alive only to dump you in a situation that tortures you the most. She likes to use her lighter personality to eventually get other wolves to reveal their weaknesses or dark secrets, then she uses them either in a threatening way, or just somehow woven into her grand plot to get what she wants. This side of Tainted only comes up if she decides to ruin your life, or if she thinks you're strong enough to take what she does to you. Tainted will speak in riddles less, and most of the time she does this it is so that she can calculate your intelligence. Light Tainted: The lighter version of Tainted is the one that most wolves like to stick around with. She is playful, polite, and happy in this state, and many of her hallucinations don't show up when she's like this. Light Tainted may still manipulate you to get food or water, or just to have someone to talk to in the night, but she won't try to use you in a way that would hurt you. Tainted is more vulnerable like this, meaning that you can hurt her feelings easily. She will often speak in riddles more in this state, but it is just in a playful way, not in a way so that she can see how smart your are. This Tainted probably has more friends and wolves that are willing to help her, but of course, she still has her other, darker side in the back of her mind waiting to come out.
History: As a pup, Tainted lived in a selfish pack that was torn apart by each wolf's selfishness. There had been a rumor going around that Tainted was a cursed pup, bearing the mark of the white rings, the ones around her paws. Many wolves didn't believe in this rumor, and it soon dissipated, gone like the wind. The idea was ridiculous! But then things began happening around the pack. These things were just common mistakes, like accidentally getting scratched on a thorn or losing a deer in a hunt, but each wolf wouldn't let their pride get hurt, so they ended up blaming it on Tainted. Each wolf saw an opportunity to make themselves seem better than they are, and soon every wolf in the pack was blaming their faults on Tainted.
Tainted soon became resented by every member of the pack, getting dark looks and glares from even the younger pups. She lived in shame, bowing her head and walking with her tail between her legs. Wolves would thrash her and bite her any chance they could get, and the wolves her age wouldn't let her play with them. Even Tainted's parents had stopped treating her the same. Tainted came to them in tears. "I hate you! You don't love me, and if I stop loving you, I won't hurt as bad anymore!' Tainted was torn from her family just because of her markings. But that wasn't the worst thing. Tainted had grown bitter and angry through all of her mistreatment, and out of anger she snapped at one of the important wolves that had decided to punish her for supposedly summoning up the frog that had interrupted his focus in hunting. Tainted growled and snapped at him, drawing blood from his leg.
Punishment for attacking a higher rank than your own in the pack was a day in the caves, a place where every time the wind picked up, a loud whistling noise would echo throughout the entire chasm, making you squeeze your eyes shut tight and wish you were dead. Tainted had tolerated the whistling, but it was the darkness that drove her crazy. The dark pressed in on all sides, squeezing the breath out of her lungs, making her feel as if she was swimming in murky black water. Tainted curled into a ball, shivering. Tainted had developed a sickness before she went into the cave. She caught it from the old rotted remains of a bird that was pushed towards her at feeding time. The sickness had spread through her blood and up to her brain, where it had lay dormant, waiting until a time of extreme stress to take affect. As she lay on the cold hard stone of the cave, covered in oily water, she began seeing things. Her way of thinking started to change.
Tainted looked up as a snake seemed to slither out of nowhere, but as she blinked, it dissipated. It was a trick of the dark. Tainted hid her head in her paws, trying to block out the laughter she heard. No one was in the cave. What was going on? Tainted lay like this for the entire night until the sun rose and a wolf came to the cave entrance to let her out. The wolf laughed as he saw her shaking as she stood up. "How did the cave go?" He asked, a smile on his face. "Fearful, was I, the dark, was the cave." Tainted replied. She was surprisingly calm, as if the cave only refreshed her mind. The other wolf stopped smiling. "What?" He said. He seemed to get angry at how calmly Tainted was looking at him. Tainted struggled to make her sentence straight. "Dark, the cave was. Was scared, myself. Alone." Tainted didn't know what was happening. She had the sentence in her mind perfectly set out, but the words came out backwards. "Happened, Something in there."
The wolf just shook his head and led her back to the pack grounds. Tainted looked around. There seemed to be more wolves than she remembered. Some of them had wings. None of the wolves in the pack had wings! They were strictly all Lumen! Tainted saw two pups playing next to an all-black wolf with wings. They rolled right through her. Then all of the winged wolves disappeared. Was it a hallucination? Tainted's grandmother had told her about ghosts and wraiths when she was young, but she said only certain wolves could see them. Tainted was sure she didn't have necromancy. The only answer had to be a hallucination. Tainted went back to her old den and lay down, trying to find the reason why she was seeing things. She hadn't eaten any special berries or plants. Tainted rolled over and went to sleep, for she hadn't slept all night. She fell into a feverish sleep, where she twitched and fidgeted, tormented by odd dreams. Tainted woke up in a cold sweat when she heard a voice. Tainted..... It whispered. Tainted sat up. "There...Who?" There was no one there. It seemed to be a voice inside her mind.
Don't fear me, Tainted. I'm here to help. You've been keeping all of your emotions tied up to keep from further harm. I am one of those emotions, finally broke free because of the sickness. The voice whispered. I will help you choose what is best for yourself. Run away tonight, little one. The voice started to get quieter until it was gone. You may call me Fishalia, or Fish. Was that the truth? The best for her own good? Tainted walked further from her den. She wasn't allowed to go too far from it without being punished for trying to "escape." But freedom called as loud as a mockingbird, sweet and tempting. Tainted stepped farther away, but a loud voice called, "GET BACK HERE!" The voice startled Tainted into running away. She ran and ran until she couldn't bear to lift another paw.
Tainted then collapsed in a heap in a forest that she had never seen before. This forest happened to be at the edge of the pack lands, and also the edge of Wonderwhy. Tainted saw a giant snow-covered mountain loom in front of her. This is where she would start a new life. Tainted became familiar with Fish, her better emotions and decisions, but unfortunately, all of the anger, fear, bitterness, and resentment was compiled on top of each other and formed another darker half, called Torn. He occasionally influenced her other side to come out, so that Tainted would take out her revenge on other wolves. Still, as she looked up at the tall majestic mountain, she felt a glimmer of hope in her heart.
She could start again. Live again. Live Better.
Other: Tainted's tail had caught on fire when she met a lupus that had joined the pack. He had fire elements.

Hello Fish and a warm welcome to Wonderwhy! So far as I can tell there does not appear to be anything requiring modifications within your Profile except for one element in your History. On that note, I must give you a cautionary note on an additional item just in case (not saying the following was ever your intention, just ensuring that as a member you've been given a fair warning in advance :3). (a) Please ensure that when you do play Tainted's two sides that it is done tastefully, ie in a fashion that does not make a mockery of, or allude to, a real mental health issue known currently as Disassociative Identity Disorder (commonly referred to as Multiple Personality Disorder) and more importantly bears no relation to Bipolar Mood Disorder.
(b) In your History you mention a 'hallucination' of sorts that Tainted refers to as Fish. In Wonderwhy, we have Powers that can be bought with points earned each time you make posts. There are currently two that fit your creation of the manifestation "Fish" -necromancy and hallucination- and because acquiring the ability to see or create visions or ghosts are ones that are bought on the site, I would ask that you remove "Fish" out of your History for the time being. You can of course purchase the power to permit your wolf to create her in the future, but for the moment and to ensure that Wonderwhy upholds equality within its members, I would ask that you find an alternative solution. And there we are, only two small details to be considered, otherwise a great bio with a creative new character! When you have modified the requested change just reply to this thread and I (or one of the other staff) will set you up for role playing in the boards. Kind regard and best wishes, Somatra

My mom was Bipolar. I had to deal with her mood swings often. But I've taken the hallucination part out of the history, but I still mention Fish as a voice in her head that her own mind created. Is that okay? Sorry, this is my first time on Wonderwhy.

I am sorry to hear that, with personal experience of my own in the field of mental health issues I can empathize with the experience. You can mention a voice in her head, that is perfectly fine as it loses its link to any powers through that route. So, on that note you're officially ready to go and give the fabulous land of Wonderwhy a try!
