]After the rain came, Eira crawled from under the rock she was lying under and walked around to find some food. Nothing. She sniffed around for something in the dirt, nothing. "I'm going to starve out here." She sniffs the the dirt one more time. "Jackalopes!" She follows the scent and gives a short, cheerful yip, and starts digging. She could almost smell them as if they're taunting her on her nose. Her paws turn as brown as her ears as she digs. She stopped and bit down into the burrow. One, two, three times. She shakes until the third one didn't move. "Even though they're just jackalopes, they'll do." She starts eating and takes one jackalope in her mouth. She starts walking with the jackalope, so if she sees a wolf, she can give it to him/her.
"I hope I find a wolf like me, looking for a pack. Then I can give this jackalope to them!" She looks for somewhere to take a quick drink. She sees a little area and stops to take a drink of water. Cold, refreshing, soothing. She gives one look up into the beautiful, clear morning sky and goes off again. She smells something in the direction where she's walking. "Bears. A female and her cubs. I still have to go that way. Maybe they'll turn. What if they smell my jackalope?" She stops walking and pauses. "I'll cross that river when I get there." After a few moments, she hears the roar. "Two!? I never smelled a father!" Eira starts running towards the sound; faster, faster. She dodges the first attack like she had wings. "Wow, you bears are pretty incondite!" She dodges the mother's swing of a paw and runs behind her. She then jumped and bit the bear on its neck, until the bear stood up on her hind legs and Eira fell off. Eira fell down but landed on her legs. When the mother turned around, the wolf was running with the father chasing after her.
Eira ran, smelling around for any wolves, mainly smelling for a strong male so she can have some help taking down the father bear. She thought she smelled something, but made a quick turn and tripped over a fallen tree. She turned back and could see the bear getting closer, closer, closer. Eira gave out a loud howl and the bear stopped, got on his hind legs, and gave out an even louder roar. She stood up, and howled even louder, after the bar roared, she put her head back, closed her eyes, and howled as loud as she can. She howled at first very high, then made it deeper. The father bear stood back on all four, and starting walking away. "Great, absolutely great. I dropped the jackalope somewhere." Eira let out a sigh and looked behind the fallen tree she tripped on. There were branches hanging over a nice a little spot with leaves and grass. The branches had leaves, so if it rained, not too much rain would fall on her. *I should probably just curl up down there and wait for someone.* She did what she was thinking and started waiting. "I have been waiting all day! I need to do something; something fun!" She climbed out and started sniffing the air. She closed her eyes and she hears the bear's roars in her mind. She could hear them getting louder, louder, and louder.
Eira opened her eyes and the roaring stopped. She felt the need to howl as loud as she could, just like what she did with the situation with the bear. "What should I do? Oh! I should probably find another jackalope, or some small creature, for an offering or gift." She starts walking around and sees a dead deer. "Wow. That was easy. Wait, what if this deer is the deer I saw with her fawns?" Eira goes up to the deer and smells it. "Good, it's not her." She takes a huge, deep, bite into the deer and rips a chunk of the stomach out. Then, she take another chunk of the deer out. "These pieces will be an offering, or just something for a hungry lone wolf like me." Eira walked back to the small area my the fallen tree and placed the two meat pieces by her and laid down. Moving her ears and smelling around for any wolf.

A young male lupus trotted through the plains with an air of cockiness that seemed to exude from his pores. He had been training for a few weeks now with his sister out here and he was surprised that results had appeared so quickly. Who knew focused study would pay off? Even though he was similar to his father, when it came to winning he had the upper paw with his determination to beat his yagi milk mates. His mossy green eyes narrowed at the thought of them. His green tipped ears folded back on his pale head. He needed to train harder. If he had any hope of surpassing the yagi brothers.
For now training was on hold, Luparia had demanded that he find her something tastey to eat, so he was off sleuthing in hopes of grabbing a plump jackalope, or maybe a deer fawn. His nose twitched when a surprising scent came to his nares. Ahote? What was he doing out here in the plains? He followed the scent of his alpha, however it was a little old, maybe he wasn't here after all. He came to what looked like an excavated burrow. He put his head in and tentatively sniffed. It smelled like females and Ahote...and a thinly veiled scent of death. He pulled his head out and snorted. His alpha seemed to have more and more facets to his mysterious self. Well, it wasn't that mysterious really. Olyvar was old enough to realize how many females Ahote had. The young lupus had no qualms with how many mates one wolf had, he was more worried about the pups that could result from such matches. Olyvar had enough on his plate, he didn't need more of Ahote's pups to compete with.
He was pulled out of his musing when he heard a bellowing that echoed across the plains. Bears? Our here? That seemed a little odd. It was summer though, so bears were more active in finding food. The green swirls up his white legs seemed to shimmer as he turned. He could see the bears not too far off. He decided to keep a wide berth of them, not wanting to be and the pointy side of an angry bear. His attention was drawn to the scent of a deer, he knew with just himself alone it would be hard to take down a deer. His eyes gleamed, however, when he saw that they had fawns. The wolf crouched, wanting to make a move on one of the fragile little babies. Luparia would love it.
He focused his energies and slowly attempted to manipulate the grasses around him. How close did he need to be to attack the deer? He decided to inch closer. The mother deer seemed very focused on the raging bears not too far off. He was getting close enough to strike. However a lone howl of terror echoed across the terrain. He stood up quickly and turned, "Lupy?!" Before he could react the mother deer and her fawns were sprinting off in the opposite direction. He growled, but the following howls distracted him from chasing. Worried about his sister he turned and ran toward the call. It finally registered that it was not Luparia's howl though.
He saw the bears running off, maybe they had killed somewolf? Not that he really cared, as long as it wasn't his sister, he was fine with it. His nose caught the scent of fresh meat and he found a ravished burrow. Grinning slightly he poked his head in and pulled out two dead jackalopes. "My lucky day." He picked them both up by a hind leg each and began moving back toward where he had come. He decided to make a wide arch away from the area he saw the bears. He wasn't an idiot, he knew a single wolf cold not take on a bear, let alone two. His green eyes fell upon a secluded tree. Perhaps he could get his bearing from over there. The white and gray male moved easily enough through the long grasses. It wasn't until he got closer that he realized the tree was occupied by a lyxxus female. He slowed his walk, then stood a few feet away, waiting to be noticed.

-Running, running, running. Faster than the bears. Jumping, jumping, jumping. Higher than a bird could fly. Falling, falling, falling. Faster than a dead jackalope being dropped from a high cliff. You can never run away from me, Eira! I'm still ALIVE!- Eira woke up from a a horrible nightmare, of her father. Or at least she thought it was. "No!" She yelled as she bumped her head on the top of the little den. "Ow! That was painful." She sniffed the air around her smelling a peculiar smell, and got a smell of a male. She thought for a moment, *Should I offer the deer bits to him? I'll wait and see.* She smelled a pack scent on him, but she couldn't recognize what pack, he was in. *What if he wants this little den? Am I going to have to fight for it?* She took a quick glance at her deer bits. *Maybe he's friendly; I hope.* She thumped one tail, but left the other one alone.
The whole time, Eira's head was turned in the opposite direction of the wolf. *Is that, jackalope I smell? I bet those are the jackalopes I dropped. Whatever, he can have them.* She took a glance outside. The sun was beating down on the area around her like a golden pelt. *My fur might be blinding outside, wait, why did I think that? Wow, that nightmare is making me a little funny.* She looked at the grass she was lying on in the little den, and she quickly rubbed her face in there, just to wake herself up.
She sniffed the air one more time, just to make sure her nose wasn't messing with her. She let out a quiet sigh. *Since when am I bashful?* Eira licked the deer pieces, to make sure they were clean, then she twitched her ears, trying to hear if he's coming closer. *What if I just run up and attack him? I should go for the neck!* Eira gasped quickly, afraid of the thought that just came to her mind. *No, that's not me, why did I just think that? That nightmare is making me jumpy.*
Eira hesitated, *What if the wolf attacks me? I should probably be prepared. Maybe if I greet the wolf in a calm, happy way?* She thought going out of the shelter and seeing the wolf. She put one paw out of the den, but quickly pulled it back in. *Maybe if I stay in here long enough, he'll go away,* she thought. Eira looked at the deer pieces and thought, "Maybe if I give him these, he'll let me be in his pack! Just to make sure though, I should probably go out and greet the wolf.* She took one step out of the little shelter, then started to slowly walk into the open. Her red fur shined in the sunlight, looking like dancing fire, with her eyes as blue as the sky mixed with grass-green. Her ears as brown as dirt, like she just got her ears muddy. She looked around and noticed him. He was white with green swirls on his legs. The tips of his ears had green on them, too. He had some tone of grey, which looked magnificent. Eira looked straight into his green eyes, smiling. She then started wagged her tails happily and said, "Hello there, I'm Eira. What's your name?"

The noises he heard lead him to believe that the female was having a nightmare. He had no intention of harming or scaring her, however taking advantage of such a state was tempting. When she delayed in showing herself he shrugged and continued to jump up on the fallen tree. His eyes scanned the territory, searching for the best route back to Luparia. It wasn't long before he heard movement from below. He supposed she was coming out of hiding.
Soon his view was blocked by the bright eyes of a red lyxxus. He raised a brow slightly at her brazen eye contact. What kind of a wolf challenged a stranger like that? His fur bristled slightly at her manners, however her voice seemed to dispel any thoughts that she was going to attack. Just another wolf that had abandoned the ancient rites of wolf-kind he supposed. His ears folded back at her chipper demeanor. He scanned her body with his eyes, taking her in. He had started looking at females differently in the past few months. Especially with Ahote's harem prancing about. Just like his father, he secretly wished for throngs of females fighting for his attentions. He knew he needed to be stronger though if he wished to hold them.
Of course the thought was pushed away as soon as the female before him asked his name. Having a mouth-full of jackalope did not really bode well for conversation. He evaluated her strengths as best he could, and decided that he could take her if she tried to steal his food. He bent his white neck to the ground and carefully placed the brace between his forepaws. He lifted one paw up and placed it protectively over the dead lagomorphs. Having secured his prize he looked back at her. "I'm Olyvar." His voice was smooth and confident, his tail twitched lightly as he took in her scent. She didn't seem to be apart of a pack, which automatically made him better than her in his mind. Pack wolves were generally stronger and healthier than loners. He was becoming more and more confident in his abilities if it were to come to blows.
He did take another scan over the territory, making sure they were alone. He half expected his sister to saunter up. Though the distance calls of the bears made him look back at the female. "You probably shouldn't hang out around here. I saw some bears earlier."

From the tone of his voice, Eira thought this wolf was probably nice. She smelled a pack scent on him, so she became cautious, in case he attacks or not. She because a little tense, made sure that it wasn't obvious. "That's a nice name!" She smiled and started to wag her tails. "I know there are bears here, I saw them and attacked, but I fell off and the father started to chase me. I ended up here and howled louder than the bear's roars, and he ran away." Eira paused and thought if she should ask a pack wolf this, but asked anyway. "What are you doing out here if you live in a pack?" She stood up tall and looked at the wolf straight in the eyes as he stood on top of the tree. *What if he attacks? I should probably be a little more ready to dodge when he jumps at me, and then bite him from the back. If he even attacks,* she thought. She thought about jumping up onto the tree, but then it would be easier for him to attack, so she just stayed there.
Eira thought this wolf seemed nice, but she didn't really like it when the wolf stood higher than her. *I should stay right here,* she thought, and then stopped tensing her muscles and became calm and relaxed. Inside her, though, she would be ready to jump and attack. Eira eyed the jackalope and chuckled as she said, "I'm not gonna take those. I'm not hungry and even if I was, you could have them anyway. I don't steal." She smiled and took a step back.

He raised a brow when she commented his name. No one really said his name was nice, he didn't see how a name could be nice personally. However he kept his opinions to himself, no reason to chastise her just yet. Her next comment, however, cause him to laugh out loud. "You? Seriously? You scared off a bear? That's hard to believe." He smirked slightly, verily amused. He did recall hearing an epic howl not long ago, he looked her over, "I guess you have pretty powerful lungs then, huh?"
His tail twitched when she began to question his reasons for being here. "You ask a lot of questions." He did not see the harm in explaining his ambitions to her, any excuse to talk about himself really. "If you must know, I am training. Honing my powers so I can beat the crap out of my competitors. " He finally opted to settle in, he sat down, scooting his food closer to his body. "I came out here so that they would not see my progress, so I can surprise them when the time comes for me to challenge them." He left out the details that involved his sister. Technically she could get in trouble if she was caught in dangerous situations.
He looked down at her, curious why she was so intent on keeping eye contact. Not very wolf like, but whatever. He didn't really care at this point. He was getting to talk about himself, which was all he really did care about deep down. When she commented on his protection of the food he scoffed slightly. "It's habit. Plus I would get an earful if I lost them." He gazed across the landscape once more, making sure the bears were gone. He was also curious if his sister was nearby, she was bound to be getting hungry about now.

Eira tilted her head as he kept on looking beyond where they were. She paused and then thought about his responses. "Training, huh? For what? You don't seem like you need to train, though. You look like you're strong. Can I see some of your moves? Well, If you have any, that is." She smirked, almost taunting him. "If you don't... Oh well. That's a shame, though. Techniques are actually pretty cool... Only if you know how to do them right." Eira started to slowly thump her tails on the ground, and quickly became tense, although not obvious, in case he would attack. She looked away from his eyes and started to scan him, seeing if he was about to jump, or about to attack. Thumping her tails became a rhythm now, Thump. Thump. Thump. Her tails started to thump faster, as she quickly started to hit them on the ground lighter. Once again, Eira scanned his body, and raised her eyebrows when she notices the green swirls on his paws.
She stopped scanning for a moment and reminded him, "This isn't a challenge, I just wanna see your moves. Also, try not to draw blood, but I bet you will because of your muscles! Well, again, only depending on your moves." Eira kept on scanning, not taking a single eye off of him. She kept her little smirk on her face, and looked back at his face. Eira stood up, and started to wave her tails as she took a quick glance at his marks again, and back at him. She was ready. She never thought of this, but she would never tease a wolf that's stronger than her. It's unusual for her to be acting like this, but she still didn't notice, or feel anything. Eira was acting strange, almost like her father. He's alive, and is now in her nightmares.
He's trying to take over her.

His eyes snapped back to her when she began questioning his training. Was she mocking him? This little red lyxxus was presuming to pick at him? The fur of his hackles rose slightly at the taunt. He hated being made fun of. Her flattering words sounded more like slights than anything, especially since she kept keying on 'if you have them'. To undermine a compliment with an insult only made the insult shine brighter. He was being provoked and he did not like it one bit. "I'm training for my rank, and I'd be damned if a little bit like you told me when I was ready. You know nothing of my challengers."
She wanted a demonstration of his skills. That was something he was loathe to do, especially if she ended up joining the pack and told the yagi males what he was up to. He only trusted his sister. His ears went back at the constant thump-thumping of her tail. It was proving quite aggravating, as if she was itching for a fight. His lip curled back in a slight snarl and he stood glaring down at her. Perhaps he would match insult with insult at this point, "Don't patronize me. I have no reason to show you anything I can do. Besides a spar with you would waste my time." The laws of his pack also forbade him from allowing females to come to harm, despite how much he disliked that rule. He opted to hold to it, however how the rest of the conversation went might change his resolve. He was, after all, out of pack territory. She was the one provoking him.

Eira flinched, and snapped back to life. *What have I done?!* Her eyes twitched as she realized what was happening, her father was trying to kill her. With her own mind. She took a glance back to her den, and smelled the deer bits still in there. "I'm sorry, I should've never done that." As much as Eira hated doing this, she laid down and looked up am him and gave out s short, playful, whine. She quickly got up and looked at his swirls again. "Do you have any family members that are sick? Like a mother or a father? A brother, or a sister? If so, even if you don't know anybody sick, I'll give you a deer bit that a have! Sorry about before, my nightmares are making me jumpy." She turned around and ran into the den. When she came out, she had the biggest deer bit she got. Then, Eira laid it on the ground. "I don't need anything for exchange, but, I see you have jackalope to carry, so if you want this, how are you going to carry the jackalope to wherever you were going?
She smiled looked up at him while wagging her tails. She stayed low to the ground, like she was about to jump of something, or jump onto prey. Eira moved the deer piece a little bit in front of her, so if he wanted it, she would go and give it to him.

It seemed that she suddenly changed her mind about fighting. That gave him a slight boost of confidence. He could intimidate others, at least those that were smaller than he. He was unsure what her aim was, he was growing more and more suspicious of her fidgeting as well. Nightmares, huh? Had she been a little different he may have offered to stick around and chase the darkness away, in a metaphorical sort of way. Though she was a bit too odd for him to even make a pass at this point. Her playful bark made his mossy green eyes narrow slightly. Now she wanted to play?
Perhaps sticking around wasn't in his best interest. Her quirked a brow at her offering of peace. They did look tasty, those bits of deer. Though he was ever the opportunist, those morsels would be harder to explain. At least with the jackalopes he could claim hunting them down. He ignored the question about his family, no need to go into that mess. "How will I carry them you ask?" He could get more points if he just offered the two jackalopes to his sister and took nothing from it. He reached down, stretching his neck over his brace to snap up the bit of deer in his jaws. He ate it quickly enough, licking his chops in satisfaction. "Like this." He reached down and grabbed the rodents as he had been carrying them before.
He smirked through his prize and dipped his head slightly. "Shanks for the shnack. Shee ya." He stepped off the log and began to walk away. He had kept his sister waiting long enough, and he was happy to be rid of the strange lyxxus he had just encountered. His tail flickered as he tried to find his scent trail a few feet away. Once he found it, he glanced back at the lyxxus before continuing to walk.

[OOC: Sorry, but I have no idea how to respond. I can't think of anything, so, here you go! ] Eira sniffed the air and could smell his scent trail from where she was, it was just a little faint, but she did have a good nose, so it might be different for the other wolf. "Wait," she jogged to the wolf and sat down behind him. "Olyvar, right? Good luck on your training for, uh, whatever you're training for." She smiled and stepped back a little. As she went to turn around, she stopped half way and thought, An all-this-and-that wolf... Reminds me of Gerwalf. She jumped onto the log and looked around on the other side. No scent of bears or anything else except for elk. A lot of elk. Eira took a glance at the wolf and understood that he had to train, so she hopped off the tree, but didn't go that far at all. All she did was just jog around until she found a small pool of water, she took a few sips, and then lied down to allow the sun to shine down upon her. The wolf's scent was lingering in the air. "Wrong wolf to encounter at today... Hmph," she said as she looked up to see if the wolf was near by. Sometimes, I regret having this nose. Eira sniffed the air again to see if any jackalope were around, or how close the elk herd was. "Not too far, I bet I could get there just by jogging, I'll go in a little bit, though."
