Wicka moved silently through the thick plant growth, pausing occasionally to pick a spider or thorn out of her wings. She flicked her ears in annoyment, causing both feathers stuck behind them to jump. Wicka had instantly taken to the jungle, for at night, the trees and vines blocked most of the moonlight, making it dark and shadowy, perfect for this assassin. Besides, Wicka was best at night, for she was all black, except for her paws and a patch on her chest, both of which were a light color, her paws being silver, and the patch being white. Her underbelly was grey, but in the dark it was nothing you would have noticed.
Her wings also had black feathers, but at the very base of them there was a bright shiny silver. You couldn't see this unless Wicka ruffled her wings, making them flash momentarily. Wicka was annoyed by this small amount of light among her beautiful black pelt, but then again, the white would mislead others into thinking that she was a little nicer. In fact, one time Wicka had flashed her wings at her opponent, which made him hesitate. That one hesitation was all she needed to move in and make the kill. Ah, yes. That sticky-sweet smell of blood.
Wicka smiled. The jungle was perfect for her. In the jungle, no one could hear you scream. In fact, the jungle was as twisted and dark as her own heart. The trees swayed in the wind, allowing a slight amount of moonlight to fall through the network of leaves, branches, and vines, causing shadows and light danced across Wicka's pelt. Wicka walked along a seemingly abandoned path. As she walked, she had time to look around and mesmerize the land. The place really was beautiful. She inhaled the intoxicating scent of all of the tropical plants, then suddenly stopped.
She smelled other wolves. Then she realized something. She was walking along the pack border! Quickly she stepped away to keep from touching the scent line. She was just passing by. Wicka unfurled her wings, ready to take off if needed. But nothing happened. She relaxed, lowering her wings slightly. She looked at an old stump, obviously a scent marker. It was the perfect spot for a feather, to tell others that she had been here. Wicka plucked a feather from her wing and walked toward the border, placing the feather in the stump. Then she took flight, landing in a sturdy nearby branch.
There she perched, eyes gleaming in the moonlight. Wicka lay down on the branch, and watched the feather, which was twitching in the breeze. Wicka lay down and got comfortable, half-closing her eyes, anticipating what was to happen next. "speechtest"

Hades trotted through the thick forest not caring about his noise, crunching the twigs under his camel like paws. He looked about with wide eyes, his ears perked up with excitement. Hades had never knew of the jungle or any of the outside worlds, for he was afraid to leave his birth land, his kind did gain weight outside the desert, well if they didn't watch it, but he had gathered the courage to move on from the desert.
Plus, the sandy brown wolf wanted friends, wanted to explore, wanted to learn about the world, he knew what he had to do to get these things, leave the desert, and travel. He smiled and let his tail wag, but he still felt uneasy.
Hades could smell the pack, they markers were fresh and strong. He looked about as a fresh scent hit his nose, it wasn't pack wolf though. Hades paused and turned his head to and fro, but could see nothing, the male shrugged it off.
It didn't worry him, the wolf wasn't near him, that helped him relax again. The male was thinking about pack life. Oh, yeah. The life of a pack wolf sounded lovely.
Hades wagged his tail. The world around him was lovely. Yet, he walked slower than he had before. In fact, he was more aware of the scent now. The scent was getting stronger, as he moved along, closer, and slower, his eyes scanning for trouble.
He found his way onto a path. He stopped and scented the air, feeling exposed now. The male let out a low howl. He wanted to hear the sound of his howl, to not feel so scared.

Wicka stiffened and opened her eyes. What was that howl? Wicka sighed. Just as she was getting comfortable. She saw a brown wolf, almost right under her. She pulled in her wings more tightly and tried to blend in with the scenery. She studied him closely. Hmm. Hooves. An Eremus, perhaps? He seemed curious, ready to learn. He had white paws, almost like socks. She nearly laughed, but then again, she had the same white sock on her own feet. She liked his eyes most of all. They were golden, yellow, like liquid warmth. Wicka didn't want to show herself, however. No matter how friendly he seemed, he could be dangerous. But still, the was he was, young, seemingly inexperienced. How could he possibly hurt her? She ruffled her wings, making them flash slightly, so that he could see her.
"Hello. My name is..." Wicka hesitated. Should she give him her real name? Then again, she wasn't going to kill him, and it was unlikely that anyone would want him dead. "Wicka. My name is Wicka. I know it is none of my business, but why would a sand wolf go to the jungle? After all, your kind doesn't belong here."
|
Wicka smiled. She would love to see the hurt look appear on his face. Truthfully, she was disappointed. She wanted to meet someone a little bit tougher, possibly in the mafia. She wanted to have some fun. Ah, well. She might as well see who this wolf was. If he turned out to be something tougher, then she might get what she wanted. Hades looked about the darkness. Was he really alone? Hades crouched down to take a moment to think. He was not happy about feeling watched. He could hardly see anyone in this darkness. Who ever was there, blended in well.
He hoped it wasn't a mafia wolf. If it was he was a dead wolf. Dead. Then again, it did smell like a loner, right? His white paws seemed to almost draw in light, or it seemed that way. He was annoyed that they hindered his hiding.
His pelt was still a ragged mess. Dirty and clumped. Yet, it fit his muscular frame. He cringed as a bird flew past him. He shuddered faintly as he stood up again.
He wasn't ready for a fight and he was sure it was heading for one. How could he fight a wolf he couldn't see anyways? Then he saw her wings.
"Hi... My name is... Uh.." He seemed oddly scared. "Hades Nightlost." He froze after replying to her.
"You aren't a Mafia wolf are you? Well, you aren't eating me alive yet so... Why not travel and see new things? Well, Cael don't belong in the lakes but they have been seen there so it doesn't matter where you belong, but it matters where you can find a home." Hades replied calmly.
He wasn't hurt by her tone and he could care less of her opinion. "Besides. Hybrids don't have homes ether now do they? No place where they really belong."

Hades Nightlost. Such a lovely name. It suggests darkness, and being lost in the darkness, overcome by it. Wicka thought. But why would this wolf have a name such as this? Did it suggest a darker personality, or did it show a past of darkness? Either way, Wicka was even more interested in this wolf. Golden eyes, lovely name. Now let's see what his personality is like. Wicka flashed her wings again. She didn't think much about the part about the Cael and the nonsense about homes. But she smiled in the darkness at the next part. She liked how he struck back, but in a quiet way. His voice was calm, and he seemed not to care about what she thought. A good trait in a wolf.
"No. Even though I happen to be interested in the mafia, I do not plan on joining. Yes, the mafia has some of the wolves more like me, the wicked, but unfortunately I don't see myself in that pack. I want to be in a pack more to my liking. So for now, I am a loner, and I prefer it that way." Wicka paused, moving slightly on the branch to get more comfortable now that she knew who she was dealing with. "Of course I don't belong. Hybrid or not, I choose to come here. If someone dislikes that, they have me to contend with.
|
Wicka knew that she may be outmatched if she confronts some of the stronger mafia, but her mind was sharper than her claws. If I find myself confronted by a wolf stronger than me, I will simply have to slip away in the shadows. Wicka thought. She dug her claws into the tree limb and relaxed her paw, making a clear liquid ooze out of the cuts her claws made. She licked the tree blood off of her claws. It tasted sharp and bitter. Just like anger. [/blockquote]

Hades eyed the wolf on the branch. He was sure she was darker than she was acting. The male sat and yawned, seeming relaxed. He didn't want to let her get under his skin. What did it matter if she did get under his pelt?
He could let it roll off him, couldn't he? Yes, he could. He was laid back enough to do so. Personality was what mattered. Hades was to laid back, but he wasn't one to be walked all over. The desert dwelling wolf looked about him as though he wasn't bothered anymore.
He let his head turn slightly towards her. His lack of caring was still clear. He realized she was studying him. Clever girl.
"Ah. Don't let the don catch you then. I don't see myself in a pack at all. So I understand that. Packs are a hindrance for me really." He watched her fully now, seeming amused.
"The better question is does anyone belong? I Don't. I like it better that way."
Hades grinned a crooked grin at this. He wasn't wanted as a pup, so why now would he be wanted. Hades was amused by this encounter. The male looked over at the darkness and shivered.

Wicka laughed. She was starting to like this wolf. "Tell me, why in the world would you want to belong? After all, belonging means that you have to blend in, become just like the other wolves. I happen to find myself without anything to do, which is something that rarely happens. This boredom that I have is the only thing keeping me here. Besides, I wanted something to mess with, to bother. You do quite well with me around. Most wolves would have either showed some conflict, or emotion. You, Nightlost, are a blank slate. I congratulate you on that." Wicka yawned. Even though this wolf had managed to keep her attention, she was starting to get tired of this pointless banter.
Wicka jumped off of the branch, landing catlike on the ground. She looked over to where the golden-eyed wolf was looking. I see you have met my friend, darkness.
|
Wicka said. She smiled and swished her tail back and forth. "Wonderful, isn't it? She pressed her wings against her sides. The darkness was welcoming in a hostile world. Why in earth would someone fear the dark? After all, it isn't the darkness you fear, but what is hiding in it.[/blockquote]

Hades looked at her as she laughed. Curious as to what was so darn funny. He was sure this wolf was a tiny bit off. Yet, he didn't really care. Her question surprised him and made him laugh a tiny bit.
"That's juts it. I don't want to belong. I refuse to be in a pack, because I will never blend. What point is there to blending? I won't fit in, and I refuse to be bossed around. Packs seem pointless. A waste of time and energy. I am looking for a new life away from the packs. Something fun to do," he says swiftly.
"Why wouldn't I do well? Emotion? Haha! No way! I have them, but one thing you never do is show how you feel to a wolf you don't know!" he laughs and tilts his head to look at her. "Why thank you."
Hades turned his gaze to the darkness. Admiring it all. Hades jumped back as she landed. He was surprised to see her, but masked it. Making it seem like he was just giving her room. Her next words made him laugh again.
"I'm not scared of it. I admire it and all that are in it. Many wolves wonder what will happen next. I don't," he replied warmly.
