ooc: I'm having Ori's order of threads based off of the map, and the next logical place was the swamp. So, apologies for the awkward timing what with the founding of the pack happening, but he won't be joining. A Sono Nyx wolf can join or loner though, really doesn't matter to me. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][tr][atrb=background,http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq254/Eldarwen5/Wonder%20Why/Tables/Ori2Mid.png]
All so quickly the ground had changed, gone was the soft sand and in place was a damp, dark substance that stuck firmly together aside from allowing his hooves to squelch into it. The wet sand at the beach ha done a very similar thing, though Orivir knew sand and was very certain that this was something else entirely, what exactly he hadn't yet figured out. Mud was of course the word he was looking for, though it was completely foreign to the Eremus, still only really just starting his travels. He had bid goodbye to Cedrus at the beach after a while and then continued his expedition to this strange place. Now although he hadn't really cared for that violent water that threw itself at the edges of the beach, Ori knew it was certainly more homelike than this place.
The heat was still there, though dry was not a word he would ever think to use to describe this place, whatever it was. Once again he was pretty lost in all honesty, simply following his feet wherever they led him. A part of him couldn't help but wish for them to lead him back to the familiar terrain of the desert, but he had made a decision and he would stick to it for now and so he hadn't turned back to the beach and desert, instead simply continued further into this mucky swamp.
Of course he wasn't aware of the dangers that could be found in the swamp, how could he be when he still had no name for this place either, one thought that did cross his mind however was that the water was still here. It didn't jump at him as the waves at the beach had. Although Cedrus had seemed rather safe, he still wasn't overly confident about them, or really water in general. It was certainly rather lucky that he couldn't swim, wasn't tempted to travel through the pools of water or else perhaps he'd find out that the waves probably were a safer bet.

A long curly tail slithered through and around the swamp. It latched onto things and groped twigs and other various things. Then it went limp. Up in a tree in the distance, another eremus hung up in a tree, her legs dangling and flopping on the ground below the large leaved shelter. She sighed of boredom. How could she get the hang of her powers when it did that? Was there a trick to it? She had multiple encounters where she would be stuck in a rut because of her power. While it was unique and viable, it was also something she had little control of that, more than once, had left her without a bone.
The sheet white eremus blew the blonde tuft of fur from between her eyes. She released the tension in her body as her tail started to shrink back to normal size, slowly making it's way back to her. She gasped and tensed with excitement, then it paused again and she growled in agitation.
"Darnit! So close too! Hmmm, why doesn't it work with my legs that way? And how am I supposed to get out of this tree with my body weird and wanky like this?" She whined.
Then she thought quietly to herself before hearing something moving in the familiar territory. She lifted her head and her ears widened to get a better listen to what was making the noise. In the distant, she could vaguely make out another shape of another wolf nearby.
"Crap! I can't let them see me all silly like this! What would they think of me then?! Ngh, oof!" The female eremus struggled for balance on the branch but quickly fell off one side as her elongated legs flipped up and wrapped around the branch with the white eremus hanging upside down. "Great." She groaned as her tail quickly whipped back onto her body at normal size as she relaxed her body in hopes her legs would let themselves loose.
The female eremus blinked as she noticed the other wolf coming into view better, oh no! They're heading right this way! Then she smelt their scent, a male, perhaps? His musky smell was similiar to her own. What was that familiar smell? She tilted her white head up to look at his feet as he got closer. His feet, they were similar to her own... that meant...
"Another eremus..." She gasped and whispered in awe as her whole body tensed, her legs suddenly loosening as she came crashing down onto the swampy floor. The white eremus now covered in mud and muck. She blushed as she ran for cover. She couldn't let another eremus see her all filthy like this! Her legs wobbled as she struggled to straighten them out long enough to hide.

On Orivir continued, with his senses working overtime as they attempted to make some sense of this strange terrain, though even the normal sights, smells and sounds would be odd to him. He attempted to draw comparisons to things he knew, the familiar lands of the desert or the brief time he had spent at Yvit Cove but it was certainly a tricky task, the differences were more obvious and the list could certainly drag on.
The area didn't need to be familiar for Ori to detect another wolf however, the scent reached him first, a local to the area he assumed what with the smell trailing around various parts of the swamp he was wandering around. It was growing stronger now though and soon enough the shape of a wolf lurking beneath the trees could be seen and a similar shock was shared between the two Eremus.
It couldn't be could it? He wondered. The shape of the wolf certainly seemed far more akin to his own species rather than the bulk of the yagi or the well strangeness of myou. Closer he ventured, his golden eyes keeping a careful gaze on the figure as he approached, attempting to decipher whether it could really be true. Whether he could actually meet another Eremus out here, how odd really. Of all the wolves he could have met, he was beginning to guess that there were more beyond the three he had already seen, here he was with another of his own desert kind.
The other wolf suddenly darted from view but he was already convinced, it hadn't really taken too long at all for him to recognise his own species. What was that all about though? Surely he hadn't posed any kind of threat or scared the poor thing. He felt a little bad about that idea, and automatically decided he needed to check and apologise if he had somehow managed to.
"Umm, excuse me?" He called out, carefully moving a little closer to the now hiding Eremus. "I'm sorry if I scared you, is everything alright?"

It was all just too sudden. She would have to rub it in Leo's face when he came back, she didn't have to leave home to find another one. She cleared her throat as the male eremus spoke to her, his voice was soft and caring to her ears. Speaking of ears, they seemed to lengthen slightly and fold halfway over, embarrassed, the white eremus tried to flick her head back to fix them, but the merely stayed stuck like that.
"N-no. I'm fine." she squeaked, ducking down further into the bush, one of her hooves sticking out near him. She stared at his feet and felt a warm fuzzy feeling engulf her.
"A-are you... real?" she questioned him, then felt silly for not properly introducing herself. "Oh, silly me... I.. I'm Nepara. You're not from around here, are you? Of course, I'm not either, I just decided to.. you know, live here. I like it better than the desert. The desert sun hurts my eyes." she admitted, blinking her blue orbs at him curiously.
That's when she slowly trotted from behind the bush to get a better look at him, and him a better look at her. It would be rude to stay hidden from a guest. She smiled kinda goofy-like, her tail wagging slightly. She noticed her tail dragging on the ground again. She quickly licked her chest and paws to try and get them clean.
"Sorry, I only ran because I tripped in the mud... and I didn't want to make a wrong impression on you by being all dirty and stuff..." She giggled and glanced away nervously from him.

Ori stopped in his tracks before he was too close to the white Eremus' hiding place. He had after all, or so he assumed, already scared her enough, the last thing she needed was for him to invade her hiding place. It would be rude to do regardless the reason though, she was hiding from him, and until she was ready to come out, he would keep some distance.
A timid reply sounded in response to his question, and perhaps with him being closer, she ducked further away from him. At this, Ori took a couple of steps back, giving her some additional space. Before he could question whether or not she was truly ok or discover why she felt the need to hide from him, reassure her he meant no harm, she made another comment before that white head of hers poked slightly out from the bush.
"Yes, I do believe I am very much real." He responded with a nod of his head. It was a strange question, though he opted to humour her all the same. "Or else I must have a very poor friend imagining me all the way out here, well I must have done something truly horrible to annoy him that much." He offered a small smile, hoping that she took the comment in the friendly joke it was meant as and in a teasing manner.
"I am Orivir, you may call me Ori." He was rather talkative for meeting a stranger at this moment. Perhaps the shared species had something to do with it, though it was most likely down to the fact that he had felt bad for scaring her, needed to make it up to her somehow. Being polite and friendly was the best that Ori could do, and so far it seemed to be good enough. With his main focus being on putting things right, he assumed this was the Nepara that Cedrus had mentioned, though chose not to bring it up just yet.
At her comment, a rather odd one really, the sandy Eremus noticed her eyes. Ori didn't believe he had ever met an Eremus with blue eyes and certainly never one with magenta pupils. Actually everything about Nepara's appearance was rather different, including that brilliant white coat. He had met Eremus with pale colours, some even with white marking them, never a pure white though. The uniqueness was a little amazing really, though Ori was certainly thankful for his own plain pale sandy fur his most unique point being those subtle little dots beneath his light golden eyes.
She was of course marked by dirt at that moment in time, something that she swiftly apologised for now she was out in the open. "Well that is quite alright, nothing to be ashamed of. I imagine a pure white coat is awfully hard to keep clean, especially here." Although only a light coat, the varying shades on his fur were sure to keep him looking a little cleaner, such muddy stains a little less obvious.

Already she felt she could really get to know and like this other wolf. Not to mention he was an eremus too, it was as if it was them against the world. And she wouldn't have it any other way. Her tail began to wag uncontrollably as it dragged on the floor. She paused and looked back, relaxing the muscle as it snapped back to it's normal shape and size. Then she looked back to Orivir.
Ori? Such a pretty name. Of course, Nepara was one to be a silly daydreamer when her actual dream finally came true. Soon she would form her own pack and everything would be as it should. She couldn't have made a better choice to leave the tundra and lurk in the swamp. To think she would have missed this moment if she had simply continued to live a lie in the empire? She would miss the other wolves she knew, but at least she would have Leo and Artellia. Now that she thought about it, what was this eremus doing so far from the desert?
"Okay Ori." She giggled and then bounced around before posing a question, curiosity marking her features as she cocked her head to one side. "Say, why did you come to the swamp?" she asked him honestly. She wondered if he would be interested in joining her pack, if she ever got around to helping everyone make it a real one.
"Would you be interested in joining a pack if one ever showed up here in the swamp? I know it's kinda sudden, but I really like you and I would love it if we became friends and hung out all the time and... uh..." she paused, realizing she was rambling a bit. "Sorry, I didn't meant to ask so many questions. I just never thought I would ever meet you- I mean..." she blushed again, feeling silly again for jumbling her words through her excitement.

Orivir's standard shy demeanor had yet to set in, though already it seemed almost as though it would slowly creep back into play. Already he had failed to prevent a comment of his own as to why he was out of their desert home, in fact the only real part of information he had given about himself was his name and the apparently pretty nickname that it shortened to.
In a similar switch of personality, it seemed that Nepara was a little more bold than her hiding had suggested, the Eremus was becoming a little more lively and certainly rather smiley throughout the conversation, not that it was a particularly bad trait, there were far worse, some would likely argue that his own traits were more negative than Nepara's, but then equally vice versa, there was no pleasing everyone.
Swamp was apparently was this place was called, the strange damp terrain now had a new name to assign to it. Slowly but surely Orivir would learn. Odd really that the calmer wolf was less educated about the world in some sense than the energetic one before him, one might automatically assume it was the other way around, though it was a good lesson to avoid being prejudice. Similar prejudice that he had to ignore as the overly long tail of Nepara suddenly shortened. He was tempted to question, though it had been bad enough asking Cedrus was he was, this oddity could be ignored.
"I'm exploring." He answered honestly, sentences getting a little shorter now the attention was focused upon his own life and shyness was setting in. "I have never been here before. Or really out of the desert actually."
Now more energy came from the white Eremus as she rattled on, silencing Ori, even if he had attempted to get a word in edgeways, after a few sentences, she trailed off, a little more embarrassed again, similarly to how she had been upon hiding and first emerging.
"It's quite alright, you've only asked two questions." He logically pointed out, perhaps in avoidance of actually answering the questions. "I'm afraid that I will have to decline though. I should really see more of this world than the desert, cove and now swap." With all her excitement and praise Ori felt a little bad turning down her request, though he did also feel a little bashful himself. After only a brief moment of talking she had already decided she liked him? "I suppose I shall have to make sure I come to visit you and your pack however. We could still be friends then." He wasn't sure how often he would make it back to the swamp, though now he supposed he would have to try for Nepara's sake. She certainly seemed friendly, and he didn't really want to hurt her feelings, no matter how little he knew about her.

But then again, he did promise to come back and see her. That would make their friendship that much stronger, she would wait till the end of the world for him then if she had to. She longed to have another eremus by her side and now she finally had that sort of companionship. She wished she could join him on his travels, but if she ran her own pack... she couldn't just up and leave. Could she? No, that would be really inconsiderate and selfish of her. Now she was torn, wishing she could be at two places at once.
"Yeah, friends..." She felt her head tilt down as she looked up at him with her round eyes."I just wish I could go with you now. But I can't. Though I would love it if we could stay friends and maybe when you're done seeing the world, you could come back and live here with me and my other friends?" Her head raised a bit at the thought. Yeah, how long could it take for him to explore the whole land? It didn't take her very long when she was following Leo. So maybe it wouldn't be as long as she thought.
Deep down, the eremus was afraid she would miss the chance to be with another eremus, after all he was the first she had seen since she left her old pack full of them. It was as if they all avoided her. Nepara wondered how long it would be before he left her to go on more explorations. She wanted to cherish the time she had with him while he was stationary.
"So, how long do you stay in one place Ori?" Nepara continued to gaze at him in wonder, still a bit in awe that she finally found another eremus like her. And the fact that Orivir was a male eremus only made her more inclined to blush and act all goofy.

Having not too long ago left his pack, Orivir had not yet experienced the complete and utter isolation that Nepara had begun to suffer with and in all his careful planning it was something that had never actually come up in his mind. He had guessed that there would be times he was sure that he'd feel lonely traveling on his own, though he had been lucky so far, meeting Cedrus and now Nepara. Still, unlike the white Eremus, Ori had no discomforts in the desert, he could and probably would return at some point and now he knew where to find Nepara as well, it was unlikely that there would come a time he'd feel like the only Eremus in the world.
Of course he had no idea that Nepara had felt such torment when travelling herself though he could certainly sense that little bit of disappointment in her after his reply. It instantly caused the male to feel bad again, and likewise wish that perhaps there was something he could do to change it. He didn't know her too well, though it didn't stop him feeling rude for causing hurt, she had for some reason already grown rather attached to him. Ori couldn't really understand why nor was he quite sure how to feel about that fact.
Mixed feelings about his next reply, Ori wasn't sure whether to lie or explain that he had no idea what his future plans were just yet. He certainly had decided swiftly though that it wouldn't be a good idea to mention his current standings on the swamp. Yes he hadn't been far, but this was his least favorite place at the moment. It was the least homely, but when the desert was the only home he knew, it was only to be expected that everywhere else should feel strange.
"You sure you would want me?" She barely knew him after all, and once she had a pack of friends around her, wolves that she actually had gotten to know, surely she wouldn't wonder what he was up to and if he would return? Of course yet again Ori wasn't aware of how desperately she had waited for a fellow Eremus to show up. "We'll simply have to see I guess." It was neither a promise nor a rejection, merely a statement to give himself the time he needed to decide. He knew nothing about this pack that was supposed to be here though either, that was something he would likely need to look into before agreeing to stay.
In typical Orivir fashion, he wasn't really quite sure how long he would be sticking around here. He would simply move on again when he felt ready to, perhaps he would stay a little longer and get to know a little more about Nepara. She already seemed eager to call him friend and perhaps it would be nice to share such enthusiasm, for them to actually have a chance of becoming friends. "I'm not quite sure. I haven't decided" He admitted. "I wasn't at the beach too long, juts long enough to meet a yagi named Cedrus. He mentioned you actually." A topic shift away from him hopefully.

Maybe they could have a future together. Of course, she was being a little naive to think a wolf she barely just met would want to spend his life with her. Though was the game of love, a treacherous and hazardous game.
"Ced-rus?" she let it lay on her tongue for a bit before all the memories started to form into her mind. The empire and the short time she had lived there. "Ah, you mean that alpha from the empire?! Yeah! I know him. We weren't really close so..." Neapra remembered how brief her life was there, she would probably never had met another eremus anywhere so cold when they preferred the heat. Then she began to cringe to herself, what had cedrus told Ori about her? That she was a whimp with no friends that was a freak of nature??
"Wh-what did he tell you about me... exactly?" Neapra felt her ears perk up in interest as her tail shortened to a nub, she clenched her teeth and gulped in fear. As much as she tried to relax her tail would not lengthen. Then her ears began to fold over and droop. The white eremus gasped as she tried to fling her head back to straighten them out to no avail. Before she could speak, one of her legs shortened without hesitation as she fell face first into a mud puddle hear them. She felt tears stinging her eyes as she fought back the urge to cry.
"You must think I'm a freak... don't look at me! I look stupid!" she choked out as she stuck her face in the mud to hide herself from him. She could care less if more of her body was covered in the sticky and slimy goop. She took a huge breath and sighed inwardly. Now he would think she was a weirdo and probably run away from her or make fun of her. The only eremus she had ever met and he proably wouldn't like her now.

Orivir would have likely panicked a lot had he been able to read Nepara's mind. Fortunately her impulsive ideas would remain hidden to him though, keeping his careful mind safe from them. Such prompt thoughts probably would never appear in this male's mind, constantly debating about most things that life through at him and as for creating a future, well that would take a lot of time to be decided.
Cedrus hadn't mentioned that he had been the alpha of the pack, perhaps for the best. Ori had been a little nervous during that meeting, the crashing waves near them and the fact that the large wolf was an entirely new species. Although more lively than the calm Yagi he had met, Nepara was a fellow Eremus. He knew what the wolf before him was, and considering his concern at the start of the conversation, they had gotten off to a fairly good start for the generally shy Orivir.
Suddenly though it seemed it was Nepara's turn to feel nervous, Ori noticed the shift in her tone and body language and then suddenly in her body too. Cedrus had actually commented on her bendy ways though the sandy Eremus had assumed she was simply a rather flexible wolf, not the rubber like stretchy limbed wolf she really was. Although he was certain he'd seen the tail shift earlier, this sudden movement was a real shock to him.
And then came the horrified response from Nepara, now so dreadfully worried about what Orivir would think of her. Yes, truthfully it was a rather strange turn of events, though ever-polite Ori would never be rude about any type of condition. Although using his mind with care, Ori was likely the least intelligent of the two, so sheltered from things in the world, powers from the Great Spirits being one of them. Of course he knew of the Spirits, though not that some wolves were granted powers, if he had perhaps he would have been a little less shocked and speechless by Nepara's constricto power.
Obeying her words, Ori now silently turned so that his back was now facing her though he remained there, not running away from her. In all honesty he was a little curious, wanting more answers eager to learn more. What had happened to her? "Are you ok Nepara?" First came that concern again, repeating the question that he had already asked her.

Her legs now long and stilt-like. Thankfully, Nepara was able to keep her balance while trying to control her powers. She shook her head to remove most of the mud that caked onto her face before feeling her body lean towards the other eremus.
"M-Move Orivir!" She cried out as her weight on her body lost control and her legs became like jello, pushing her forward. Then she collapsed into a coiled pile. Her limbs trying to revert to normal length but constricting on each other in the process. She awaited the usual numbness that was to proceed. At least it was not a crazy as before where she had fallen into a river or fell off a cliff. When she realized where everything was and that her body was in one piece, she looked around for the other eremus who was just standing nearby only moments before.
."Ori?" The white eremus looked around for the golden colored male, trying to see if he was still nearby or if he had fled. Nepara felt guilt lodge in her throat. What if, he squished him?!?!
"I.. I'm okay... hehe.. this happens all the time." She sweat dropped, wondering what had happened to him. Now that she had admitted it happened often, what would Orivir think? So he was concerned, but for most wolves it started with concern and evolved into pity. Would he still want to be her friend if he knew how spontaneous her power could be?
"You can look and laugh if you want. I'm used to it..." Her ears drooped still but the rest of her body was slowly loosening and reverting to normal. The white wolf felt her muscles burn as she tried to stand and look tough. The paralysis proved too much for her body as she fell back to the ground with a light thud. Her vibrant blue eyes gazing up and around to make sure she wasn't left for dead or vulnerable. She sighed as she tried to get up once more, every fiber inside her screaming for her to stop.
Nepara panted shook her body again as she finally sat up on the third try. She had to admit, she had never tried to fight it before. She just laid there until the pain and numbness went away, then she would easily get up and be on her merry way, where ever that would be.

Quick often wasn't a word used to describe Orivir, though at Nepara's sudden shout, the pale sandy Eremus twisted his head to look over his shoulder and see what was happening, then the real speed took place as the long, legged male darted out of the way, narrowly avoiding the squishing that the white female had feared.
Stepping back a little more as Nepara's limbs twisted and changed size, Ori wasn't sure whether he ought to turn away again or not. Before he could decide, she suddenly spoke his name again, questioning for his presence. "Here." He reponded simply and took another couple of steps forwards, now closer to her again.
She tried to sound reassuring as she answered his previous question, the one he had asked right before she had tumbled. It saved him asking again as he undoubtedly would have done what with her falling down the way she had. "Oh..." He said quietly, not sure what else to really say. She was trying to be calm about it, surely he ought to respect that and do the same. Admittedly a little hard to do with her body parts still trying to find their normal place, before finally settling down.
Then she attempted to lift herself from the floor, collapsing back into a heap though not quite as heavily as before, being only a smaller drop. He simply shook his head though as he was given permission to laugh, this certainly wasn't a laughing matter, especially not for the polite, caring Orivir. Once again she attempted to rise, though again failed collapsing back onto the floor again. Was she sure she was ok?
A part of Ori was tempted to move forwards and offer to help her up, gentle nudges and something to lean against, though there was also the lingering suggestion for her to stop and take it easy. Before his mind could decide on any of those things however, Nepara had at least gotten herself settled into a sitting position now, leaving them in silence. Question time? Sure Ori had a few of those but he wasn't sure whether to say anything. He certainly didn't want to be rude to her, especially not when she was sadly only expecting such mean behaviour.
"Are you sure you're ok?" He led with that for now, she seemed weaker after all, perhaps she ought to rest? Though again he would let her decide for herself, not tell her what to do, he had no right at all to do such a thing. "What... what happened?" Of course he had seen what happened with his own eyes, she'd shrunk and grown, limbs stretching and twisting before finally settling again though Orivir had never seen such a thing before. The question was a more polite way of trying to ask just what was her body doing?
