The pitter patter of rain was certainly soothing, a monotonous rhythm in her ears that made everything else seem to just vanish from around her. It was a heavy rain. She could tell from listening to the water continuously fall upon the thick canopy above her. Occasionally, a stray droplet would squeeze between the cracks of the leaves and plop down onto the moist ground near her. She was curled up just outside some of the dens of the main camp in the forest, pretending to take a nap while she surveyed some of the other wolves wandering about the camp area for no particular reason, whether it was just to wander or whether they were back from hunting or patrolling. She had hunted her catch for the day. She wasn't suited so much for the rain, so she had retreated back to this are, where she now just sat and relaxed.
Naomi was a hybrid, a mixture of a Lyxxus and Keiyou. Her mother had been the Lyxxus, and her father was the Keiyou. Her father was Reynard, the alpha of the Children, but there were a plethora of problems running through the young wolf's mind every time she thought of her family. Her mother, Aurora, was gone. Alla, her blood sister, was gone. Altan, her half brother, was gone. Nocht was off doing Great Spirit knows what at that cave of his. Then, there were her other half siblings, the pure blooded Keiyou that were fathered by Reynard and mothered by Satinka, the Queen of the pack. For some reason unbeknownst to her, she had always held a particular dislike for that set of wolves. Perhaps it was because she believed they stole all time away from their daddy when they were littler or because mommy had up and gone.
She was bitter about the situation. She felt alone, and she was scared of that fact. Sure, there was Nocht, there was always her big brother. Although, he wasn't exactly the greatest company to keep. He never really talked or took part in conversations. He had always just let her clamber all over him when she was a small pup. Not that she complained. She quite liked using her brother as a jungle gym and not get punished for doing so. Now that she was older, technically speaking fully grown, climbing all over him would probably break him, especially since she was bigger than he was. Her wings were still clumsy, but they were the most useful things she had lately, except her teeth. Those came in handy with hunting. Nothing more, really. She certainly wasn't a fighter, that much she had made clear a few times.
Naomi sighed, peeking open her eyes slightly to gaze around the area with a bored expression upon her face. A spark of something akin to hatred appeared when she spotted the den that her father and company slept in, resentment glowing within her chest as she thought of those siblings. With the coming winter, they had one another to curl up next to and to sleep beside to keep warm. She had not a single wolf and she certainly wasn't keen on curling up next to a few strangers to do so. She snorted slightly, closing her eyes back up to allow those thoughts to ravage through her mind. She was alone and scared. She felt unloved and unwanted. It was no fault of hers nor anyone else. She just didn't know what to do now that she had no mother and no true sister to keep her warm and keep her company.
