General
Name: Lucent (Loo-sint)
Alias: Cen (Sin)
Species: Sennyo
Gender: Male
Age: Five (5) Years
Pack: n/a
Rank: Loner
Physical
Height: 46 inches
Weight: 27lbs
Appearance: Although Cen is “officially” a Sennyo, his family doesn’t quite fit into the traditional mould, due to their living in reasonably remote desert with conditions that wouldn’t suit any un-altered breed, aside from Eremus, which was the breed that most of Cen’s friends (and ememies) were as he grew up.
Cen had two-toned fur: white as it neared close to his pale skin, and tan as it grew closer to the end. It resulted in a strange look, as if his body were glowing slightly. He had few patches or imperfections in his coat, aside from one lone pink scar that discreetly ran all the way down from the base of his creamy muzzle to the underside of his belly.
His almond-shaped eyes were a very pale chocolate brown, the same colour you would get if you were to mix a little bit of cocoa into milk.
In order to predict degrees of the heat, rather than the already-obvious constant sunshine of his desert, Cen had long, pale grey antennas that almost seemed translucent in the sun. His wings, smaller, but stouter than most of his breed, were tucked up by his sides most of the time, as so he could run aerodynamically and perform tasks without them getting in the way.
Cen was slender, not skinny, and was largely muscle not fat, though he was never the toughest nor biggest of his family, friends, or pack. His long legs were a perfect testament to how graceful Sennyo could be, and his torso was smooth and royal, perhaps comparable to a thinner, downsized wild cat.
Mental
Strengths: Fast: Cen’s muscular, lean build allows him to be agile and run quickly, along with being light on his feet. He developed this skill as he roamed easily over plain after plain of sandy desert, often having to travel for hours or days in order to get to a neighboring pack, field, or water source.
Can go without water for long periods of time: Obviously, growing up in a desert with generations of “desert wolves” behind him, Cen can easily avoid drinking for very long periods of time.
Good medically: Cen was taught by his mother and former mate, how to care for his fellow wolves. They taught him the ways of healing using plants and herbs, as well as cleaning and looking after wounds.
¬Can sense temperature well: Although he lacks in ability to sense rain or cold weather, he is well-practiced and skilled in determining the temperature when it’s hot.
“Attractive”: His facial feratures line up well, and his body is healthy-looking and attractive, making wolves more susceptible to like him at first, even though he makes them a little nervous.
Weaknesses: Un-suited to cold: Cen’s body isn’t adjusted to cold and therefore sometimes low temperatures can have bad effects, generally in the form of his blood thinning and pressure slowing down, making him delicate and weak.
Average fighter: Cen’s a decent enough fighter to ward off small wolves and pups, but generally, even wolves his own size are much heavier than he, and he generally decides to flee over fight.
“Loner”: Especially after leaving his pack at a young age, Cen doesn’t have a lot of friends and isn’t very quick to trust, making himself seem distant, aloof, and untouchable. Most of this is because of his mourning for his former mate.
Can’t hunt large prey: There was little hunting of big prey out in the desert, and Cen never learned, leaving him unable to catch more than birds, rodents, and small or baby mammals.
Unempathetic: Cen isn’t a great listener and if he ever manages to get to the point of conversing with someone, he often finds it difficult to really feel bad for them.
Personality
Cen, despite his warm appearance, almost feels “cold” to talk to at first. He doesn’t care for strangers and is only truly happy with those he has grown very close to. Throughout his entire life, this has been a short list of wolves.
He misses Ara, his former mate, and thinks about her too much. By now, he’s almost fooled himself into believing that somehow him building new friendships or relationships is unfaithful to her – so he keeps to himself, even though he knows that he’ll die if he doesn’t enlist the help of a pack.
Cen’s smart, but doesn’t really have anyone to share his knowledge, ideas, or experiences with. If anyone were to try he simply pushes them away with harsh comments or sarcasm.
He’s smart, he’s brave, but he’s alone. There is no doubt about it; since Ara, Cen is lonely.
History
Cen grew up in a small close-knit pack of mostly Eremus wolves. The only wolves who weren’t were his own family, and the alpha’s family. As a pup, he had been given an easy life due to his beauty, and he had enough close friends for him to feel relaxed and settled there.
For the most part, this continues on to his adult, or young adult, life, but with one crucial difference: Ara. She was the Alpha’s daughter, and she was beautiful. A Lyxxus, she was gorgeous with a warm scarlet pelt and ice blue eyes. When Cen was three, and she, a year younger, blossomed a split in her ember-coloured tail, Cen knew he was in love. For the first time in his life, he approached someone he didn’t know very well – and soon they were together.
She taught him medicine, and he taught her how to run. She showed him people of whom he had never bothered to befriend, and he showed her places she had never bothered to explore.
They were out, one day, roughly seven hours of running away from any other wolves in the world. It had been perfect. They lay down with their backs in the creamy sand and soaked up the familiar heat.
“You know,” she had said to him, her voice as warm as the sun shimmering above them, “I really love you, ya know? And I’m not going to live anywhere near as long as yo-“
“Ar-“
“No, no, let me finish. I was just about to say, that we have to live our lives together in what ever amount of time we have, and-“
“I know, but I won’t let you-“
“Shhhhh!” She scolded him playfully, “let me speak! We have to live our lives together – and I can’t wait. I can’t wait to have this pup with you ei-“
He pulled her into an embrace. They were young, but they were ready and they were blissfully, blissfully happy. They ran back home, and Cen led them both over the crevasse they needed to cross. He made it easily, but as he landed on the rocks, he heard a skidding of paws that shattered his ecstasy into a million mirrored pieces that fell onto the ground and sparked under the sun.
He lunged out toward her and she threw her paw out to him. As she feel, her claw left a long pink line down his body that now housed a broken soul.
After that, he couldn’t return to his home. He turned and ran as far from the desert as possible, living, off birds. He thought he could make it alone, but he understands now – he needs a pack.
-- That's it! Obviously this is my first character and I'm still unfamiliar with the site, so if it's strange or the facts don't line up just let me know (though I tried to do my research). Thanks! Islay
