The young Lupus sprinted through the trees at a hasty pace. His toes dispersed into the rugged soil at each collision with the Earth, grasping the dirt and pushing him faster. The strong wind lashed wickedly in his face- the wind he held so dear to himself. It blurred his sight, leaving him only using fortune and self-trust to avoid crashing into something of the forest. His paw pads skidded to a halt; a large tree had blocked his advance.
Instead of going around the tree and continuing to nowhere, he stopped dead in the middle of the forest. He blinked back the tears which were the after-effect of running in the wind, and swept his silvery glance around the canopies, then the ground-level forest. He picked up nothing of importance, with visions of aspen trees and the occasional flickers of light behind the thick roofs. He was still catching his breath, his jaws hanging agape, angled downwards. He grunted silently, unknowing if anyone had seen or heard him. He closed his muzzle and inhaled through his nose uselessly, not scenting anyone, or anything. He slowly slid onto the dry terrain, coiling his tail around his hind legs comfortably.
Alterious's ashen optics disappeared behind pale blue eyelids, shutting themselves gently. Then the Lupus focused on the sound of the wind whipping gently around the area, and his breathing. And his stillness. He inhaled through his maw deeply. Counting to five slowly, he exhaled in a large gust, and began to attempt control over the winds. He visualized the wind in his mind, coming and going strong and unstoppable. Nothing happened.
With a sharp exhale, he repeated the process. He stared at the sky calmly, at the breeze flowing gracefully across the treetops. With a major exertion of his mind, he tugged downwards on the air current. The change was slow, gradual; and took all his concentration. Just as he thought he was getting somewhere, a twig snapped from behind him.
He broke his connection with the earth and whipped around, his eyes snapping open wide. He narrowed his optics, staring fiercely at a small robin, whom was scavenging the ground for a morsel of food. He made a brisk leap towards the robin, launching himself off the ground only enough to scare the creature off. Squawking in surprise, the fowl lurched from the terrain and flew skywards, eventually disappearing from sight.
A long, frustrated groan left his throat, and he decided to quit the practice for the time being. He lazily flopped onto the ground, sprawling out his legs vertically. His cerulean eyelids once more took control, hiding his silver eyes from sight.

Hawktalon stared at the young lupus through the trees. She scented the air, waiting for it to move. A robin scuffled in the dirt, making no noise. She had fooled him into believing nobody was there, or at least she hoped. She'd snapped a twig, to make it seem like the robin was at fault. If this lupus controlled the wind, this could be a problem for her. She was the queen of storms, but if a wind wolf got in her way, her playtime with lightning could be disrupted. She growled softly, low in her throat as not to warn him of her presence. She slowly moved forth, keeping low to the ground, watching him.
He turned back to his tree, stretched out, and closed his eyes. This was her chance. She called out in an even toned voice. "Where might you be from? I don't think I've seen you before." She was playing nice; if the male got cranky, she'd just as gladly befriend him as she would hurt him. Tonight was her time to power the storms, and she would have it, whether this male liked it or not.

His optics snapped wide at the unexpected voice, a surprised jolt rippling through his spine and sending him lurching upwards. He rose off his haunches, positioning himself into a casual, yet slightly defensive, stance. His oculars zeroed in on the female of his own kind, though his muscles remained tense. "I'm Alterious," he spoke in a slow, wary tone. "I am not from nearby."
Ending his statement, he took a wary step forward for a better look on the fae. His body remained low; in a prowl. "Who are you? How long have you been watching me?" He asked with suspicion.

Hawktalon laughed inside. She could sense she had the male scared. Alterious, hm? she thought to herself. This male was clearly not one to be toyed with, but she intended to receive no harm as of tonight. She saw something in his eyes; distrust. She must rid his mind of that first impression. She gave a slight growl in her tone, more calm than aggressive.
"Oh, you don't need to worry, I've only seen you since that robin, by the way, I have forgotten my manners. I am Hawktalon, queen of storms, and tonight, I smell rain. Static is at my command, and lightning is my weapon. I advise you stay away, for I don't play nice with strangers."

Alterious continued to watch the stranger, his bright grey optics burning into her skull. They narrowed slightly at her warnings, turning more hostile than /calm/ at her words. He stood his ground, refusing to be fazed by this particular female. He let out a silent exhale, calming himself before he could start anything that could be potentially dangerous; Better to not get in a fight, were his thoughts.
He inhaled through his nose slightly. The air was scentless as usual to him. Though he continued to lift his cranium, pretending to smell the rain rolling in. "Oh yeah, your right.." He mused. He whipped his head back and forth, getting back on the more important topic.
"What do you want.. why are you here?" Desperated was his voice for answers.

Hawktalon was pleased by his more calm attitude. She was turning a lot more curious than threatening. This could be an okay night. She thought her answers over carefully, studying the one called Alterious. His silvery-grey eyes were drilling into her with curious caution. She decided no harm could be done from a few responses.
She calmly approached him, watching his posture and stance for hostility as she sniffed him. Nothing threatening was apparent to her at least, so she answered his questions. "To tell you the truth, I've got no good reason to be here, just wandering, but I do want something," She gave a slight trill to her tone as she finished her sentence. ",not quite sure what though..."

The cerulean brute relaxed a bit more, seemingly growing more accustomed to the Lupus as they mingled. However, his lonesome nature prevented him from opening up so easily. He held himself still as a statue as the curious femme examined him. He to sniff back a little; more of a polite greeting beetween wolves than really getting useful information. Arching his neck upwards, he pulled back from the late introduction; without thinking about the action, he slipped onto the earth, with a catlike grace; folding his haunches neatly under him. His tail trailed behind him in a neat line.
Alterious's eyebrows pulled up an angle, as his skull tilted in confusion. "How do you not know what it is you desire?" He knew the question sounded awkward. He left awkward asking it; instead of the somewhat wise, insightful voice he wished for, it all came out in a rush. Each word blurred into the next, just barely having the articulation to know what he was saying; which went strictly against his personality.. He had hoped that hadn't caused the Lupus to think lowly of himself.

Hawktalon felt Alterious was playing dumb, or maybe he just was. Anyhow, she didn't care what he thought of her, he was a male, and he was supposed to be like that. She slowly circled him, eying him cautiously. The rain smell had come closer, and the storm was rolling in on blue-black thunderclouds. Hawktalon had always loved playing mind games, but that was for another time. The male was speaking in a blurred speech, and looking very confused. She took all of this into consideration. "Well, you see...maybe I do know what it is that I am after."
She prowled in a circle around him again, then locked gazes with him, penetrating deep into his thoughts. Sensing worry, she decided she must decide now. "Hmm..." she murmured, half to herself. A male to sire her pups, eh? No chance of that, he was too untrustworthy. She chuckled softly. Not much longer would she need to make her decision, and she was nearly finished with her speech.
"How to begin? I must say, I will be curt with you. Pups are my aim, but if that isn't what you came here for, I would leave before the lightning strikes. I will give you no more than a warning if you choose to fight." It may be your last storm to see indeed..she thought inwardly. Hawktalon had always gotten her way, and she would have it again, even if it meant killing this strange male.

The young Lupus held his gaze firmly with Hawktalon, angling his cranium occasionally to follow her suspicious circling. His phalanges dug into the soil, ripping up the rugged exterior and exposing the soft, damper earth below him. Behind him, his tail whisked sharply at his ankles at the sound of her chuckle. As if she were playing a mere game with him.. He refused to be tricked by this partucular female.
Alterious was was briefly baffled at her brief explaination; though soon understanding unclouded his silver opticals. It all made sense now; she was simply after pups, though his death would probably suffice. He had known he was not willing to offer either of these choices to Hawktalon.
Unwanting to set off her potentially dangerous temper of lightning, he spoke slowly; sagely, almost. He took a detering step to the left- away from her. "Not to offend you, but pups aren't in my intentions; and neither us assaulting each other for simply showing up." As he spoke, though, he summoned a gust of wind at the ready; unnoticably waiting to be unleashed. He found it was `much` easier to use his elemental powers when he felt threatened, as well as it took much less concentration.

Hawktalon knew that Alterious was clearly unhappy with her half-threat. She growled softly, deciding he would be a formidable fighter. She wanted pups, but this male no longer fit her fancy. As of now, it was one of two ways, fight, or flee. She lay down, thinking briefly about her options. Blue eyes glinting, she nodded understandingly. "Fine, if that is your wishes so be it." she respected him, it was unfortunate he would not sire her young, but life was a sea of misfortunes, flowing endlessly without a care.
Hawktalon studied him, then swiftly departed, racing off into the black of the night. The storm broke as she ran, raining down her own feelings, and synchronizing with her solemness.
