Obi leaned against the entrance of the Caverns, blowing a leaf up into the air and letting it float down. He couldn't say he wasn't tired, he was. More wolves had joined the pack and he had wanted to get to know them but it was harder then you would think.
Today he was just resting and guarding the caverns. Night would be coming soon and he would still be out here. He blew the leaf up one more time before jumping up and catching it in his jaws.
"Ick!" He cried spitting it out. It wasn't as good as he thought it would be.

A lithe figure danced across the plains, as ignorant to the warm summer sun as she was the fact that the lands she'd just crossed into were claimed. She'd never really been one to mind such borders, an air of entitlement evident in the way she held herself. It wasn't hard to feign ignorance with her pretty face, and if she disliked what she found here then chances were she wouldn't come back.
Currently she'd set her sights on what she was sure was a male of her species. He seemed to be... blocking something. Whatever it was, her curiosity had been peaked. With a confident step she strode towards him, giggling slightly as she watched him capture a leaf within strong jaws. Waiting until after he'd finished his rather tasteless treat, she stared up at him through her lashes, a soft smile on her face. Her voice was gentle as she spoke, "Hullo, stranger."

Obi sat straight up and down, looking at the new wolf. He was upset with himself, he let his guard down and now this female Lyxxus was inches away from finding the den. He pressed his big paws into the ground, letting a bit a of growl out when he spoke.
"Hello," Obi scooted a bit forward in a attempt to scoot her back and away from the den, "Who are you and what do you want?"
Obi remembered Keely's instructions but it was so hard to smile when a stranger was this close. He ended up with a half smile when he spoke again.
"You are in the Romneya Republic's Territory."

The female was a bit taken aback as a low growl tickled her ears. Subconsciously she stepped backwards a few steps, ears pulling back slightly before again standing tall. A little unfriendliness wasn't enough to scare her off. If anything, it only perked her interest more. What was he guarding?
"Name's Lydia. You?" Craning her neck, she tried to innocently look behind him before letting her violet gaze settle upon his face. Something he'd said had made her extra curious now. Completely ignoring his question about her purpose for being there, she instead asked one of her own. "What's the Romneya Republic?"

Obi started to tower over the other lyxxus. It wasn't hard seeing as he was rather big for a lyxxus himself. Up close he noticed that Lydia had violet eyes. He looked at them for a while curious at the coloring. Snapping himself out of it he looked away from her eyes and at the top of her head.
" I am Obi, Centurion of the Romneya republic. As a centurion it is my job to guard this place from strangers." He motioned his nose in a way that meant stranger's were her.
"Keely and Fyodor are the Consuls, they are the leader's. Again what do you want seeing as you are on our packs territory?"
He loosened his back a bit and tried to grin again which looked even scary with his sharp teeth showing.

Lydia didn't miss the way he tried to use his height to intimidate her, nor was she the first to turn away as their eyes locked. A decisive creature, she rarely changed her mind once an idea entered it. Her current course of action was to find out more about this pack, and she had no intention of leaving until she absolutely had to.
Reclining on her haunches, her head tilted to one side as she listened to his every word. So this male, Obi, was the pack's guard. She stored the names of its leaders for later, letting a sly smile creep up her maw. Obi seemed very intent on discovering her reasons for being there, repeating his question from earlier. Too bad prying information out of Lydia was as painful as pulling teeth.
"Are you insisting I'm a stranger?" she questioned innocently, blinking her eyes slowly before peering out through her lashes. A giggle accompanied her next words. "Now that we're on a first name basis, I think that means we're friends." She nodded her head sharply, a decisive action that would make disagreeing with her difficult. She then looked thoughtful for a moment, as if mulling over his more intrusive question. After a few minutes she again answered him with a question. "Well, Sir Obi," she began, adding the title in an attempt to flatter him before her tone turned a little smug. "This is a pack land, is it not? And I am but a weary loner. Tell me, what do you think I'm doing here?"

"But how can you be friends when you only know names..." Obi muttered trying to figure out Lydia. "I guess were friends..."
Obi had his brain already full when Lydia asked another question. Obi laughed out of embarrassment and confusion, but mostly because he had caught on.
"Your funny." He giggled. "And spazzy." He decided with a nod of his head.
"I would think that a stranger would want to either one: Want to steal food off our lands, Two:Spy on us, though there is not much to spy and I do not think we have many enemies, or Three: Want to join the pack." He moved away a bit. Lydia seemed to pose no threat and by sheer size he could probably stop her if she tried to get past him.
"If I were you I would chose the latter or leave, it would make my life easier." He grinned showing a set of sharp teeth and big jagged canines.

Albeit reluctantly he agreed they were friends. Lydia smiled. The conversation had certainly taken a turn for the better. Obi seemed to be loosening up. He was laughing along with her now, his defensive behavior from before nearly forgotten.
When he called her spazzy, however, the female got indignant. She sat a little straighter, staring down her nose at him. "Me, spazzy? I don't know what you're talking about," she huffed. Charming, stubborn, flirtatious... Each was an acceptable word to describe her. Spazzy, on the other hand... "I think you're the spazzy one."
Her smug smile slowly faded into one of content as he played along with her question. Having him list why she could have been there was much better than having to talk about herself. Lydia hated having to talk about herself. A trio of ashen tails wagged behind her as she watched him shift slightly, her mind made up before he'd even finished speaking. "I think I like option number three best. What do you think, Obi?"

Obi was taken back. He hadn't meant to insult the Lyxxus. "No I mean you were just...so happy... bouncy maybe?"
As he struggled to find the words, Lydia just moved on. Obi huffed a breath out, his blue eyes following Lydia. His thin pelt swayed in the wind, illuminating his very large muscles. He shifted his big paws in the earth embarrassed about upsetting her.
He jumped up and wagged his three tails when Lydia said her last sentence. "Oh it would be so great if you were to join. You'll have to start off as a plebs though unless the consul see's different then there's a election every year for different places if you want it. I'm sure Keely will like you! Keely's my sister by the way."
He jumped around Lydia for a bit before settling down. "I think I will like you a lot Lydia." Obi Smiled and poked her with his nose playfully.

Obi's enthusiastic response to her wanting to join was a little overwhelming. He was like a giant pup underneath it all. The female found it rather cute. When his nose poked her she giggled slightly, the smile on her face growing. It had been a while since the last time she'd felt so accepted. Without thinking she turned and ran her tongue up the male's cheek, thanking him for the invite into the Romneya Republic.
"I like you too, Obi," she murmured, eyes sparkling with excitement at the prospect of a new home. She didn't pay much mind to how the ranking system apparently worked. She could learn about that later, when she was actually ready to decide what sort of pack member she wanted to be. For now she was more curious about the sorts of wolves she'd just joined up with. A thousand questions burned in her head. "So tell me, what is your sister like? And the others? And what is it that you are so vigilantly guarding?" She hadn't forgotten that the male Lyxxus was still currently blocking some sort of hole from her view.

Obi listened intently to Lydia's questions. He figured if she was going to join no point in hiding it so he answered all the questions out right.
"I couldn't tell you about all of the pack members, we have a lot of new ones lately but my Sister is the most bubbly, happiest Lyxxus around, her mate Fyodor is a little protective of her but is a great consul, he has a smaller leg but don't stare at it, that would be rude and mean." Obi nodded along with what he was saying. He didn't want Lydia to make Fyodor unhappy.
"Of course there's my other brother Tobi who's really smart. There's one other Centurion named..." He thought back into his memory trying to recall what Fyodor had told him one day while they had just been idly chatting. "Mantra."
Obi looked back into the dark tunnels that he was guarding.
"This is our den. Everyone sleeps and lives here but you'll need to get used to not being able to see in there. I will guide you the first few days if you want." Obis wagged his tails at the idea of spending time with someone new. "You can fall really easily or take the wrong turn. There's a river down there too."
Obi moved aside a bit so that Lydia could take a look if she wished but not enter. "Anything else?"

The female listened with wide, curious eyes as Obi told her about the pack and their dens. His sister sounded a lot like him, she decided. Once he'd warmed up to Lydia, Obi was certainly happy, good-natured male. She wasn't sure what to think of Fyodor. In her travels she hadn't really met anyone with an obvious disfigurement. Then again, it felt like ages since she'd last talked to another in general. She made a mental note to mind her manners upon formal introductions (not that she needed a reminder, of course, but better safe than sorry). He didn't really have much more information on the pack past its leaders and his brother, so when he finished with that particular question of hers she nodded her head in understanding.
As he looked behind him, her gaze followed his to the hole that lead underground. Her eyes were transfixed by it, her paws carrying her forward for a closer look when he moved slightly out of the way. It certainly was as dark as he'd described. The first part of her response was a comment muttered more so to herself. "Good thing I don't mind the dark."
Lydia then backed up a bit, returning her full attention to the male. Her smile was confident. Right now she felt very pleased with herself. Sure, joining this pack had been something she'd done on a whim, but it sounded like a very friendly place to join. The Lyxxus liked friends. She liked Obi too, which was a good thing considering she planned to take him up on his offer to guide her around the dens. "So, mister tour guide, when do I get to meet the others?

Obi thought back to see if Keely or Fyodor had come back yet. Sighing he didn't remember either coming back. But he knew where they might be.
"We aren't going on the tour quite yet, first we have to go find a Consul." Obi used his body as a way to face Lydia in the right direction, but in a gentle way.
"I know where one will probably be." He started to bound off in the direction away from the cave but looked back at Lydia, being careful not to trip over his paws. "Don't worry, I'm sure they'll love you!" He meant that with all of his being.

Lydia nodded her head, compliantly letting Obi lead her in the right direction. A soft smile was on her face, her giggles catching on the wind as she chased after him. It was hard to keep in her excitement. Her three tails bounced and wavered behind her in joy, toned muscles carrying her with a practiced ease as she kept her pace two steps behind his. "Lead the way," she sang happily. It was time to meet the Consuls.
