The Art of Murder (joining completion)

[Elegance Darkly]

Elegance crouched in the bushes, cold eyes staring at the wolf who lay snoozing in the clearing. Her lion-like tail waved slowly in the air, showing her anticipation. Her pink-blue eyes glowed demoniacally, her wings were like hunched deformities upon her back. In the shadows, her dark coat was almost shadow black.

Perking her ears forward, she listened to the steady breathing of the wolf. She couldn't tell what species it was from here. She didn't care. All she knew was that she needed it to join the Mafia, the pack of her dreams!

Creeping forward, her eyes didn't stray from the wolf. She froze as it snuffled and twitched its ears, then, as it settled back into sleep, she continued her slow advance. Eying all its vital points, Elegance searched for the perfect point to bite into.

Zeroing in on its neck, Elegance blew softly to awake it.

"Good morning," she hissed. The wolf let out a single, strangled screech, but then fell silent.

Smiling and humming a light tune to herself, Elegance commenced cutting a neat little incision in the corpse's body with her claws. Gently removing flesh from bone, she began arranging the bloody mess into a masterful depiction of Flynn. Flesh formed a face, Tears of the old coat became fur, bones formed pointed teeth, and blood made for the tips of his fangs.

Pleased with her depiction of the wolf-beast, Elegance tilted her head back and howled.

"Oh Flyyyyyyyyn!!!"

[Flynn]

His ears twitched as he heard his name ring through the trees. He snorted in annoyance, but quickly finished burying the remains he had been handling. He was still hungry after that small meal, perhaps who ever it was calling to him would make the interruption worth it. He had to pause a moment to think of who it could be calling him. There were few females in the mafia as it were.

As he scuttled toward the voice, he smelled blood and flesh. It was coming back to him. That keiyou from the other day....what was her name? Radiance? Elderberry? Elegance. That was it. He poked his nose through the brush, checking first to make sure she was alone with her kill.

His beady eyes fell upon her silhouette...which seemed to be standing by a lump of something. His poor eyesight never did him justice. "What do you want? This your proof?" He came closer, trying to at least make out the general details. It was wolf flesh, he was sure of that. So she had committed a murder. Good for her.

Elegance heard Flynn approaching and gave a wide, cheery (though somewhat forced) smile.

"I brought you a gift!" she said, almost certain that her little art show would earn her a place in the Mafia. However, she didn't want to get to cocky, so she attempted to contain her excitement. It was like being a puppy again!!!

Standing aside so that Flynn could see her artwork, she took a few deep breaths and then shurnk her smile down to something more befitting.

"It is acceptable, right?" she asked cooly, regaining her composure, "I designed it to look like you, see?"

His ears flattened a little at her cheery tone. The grump was not really in the mood for sugar coating, but he had to do his job. Not that accepting new members was in his job description....but Sylvester had been busy with other things, and with how often Flynn was around the borders...

He walked past the female and circled around the hunk of flesh. He sniffed at it, then took an exploratory bite, where supposedly an ear was. His beady black eyes looked up at the tall female, "S'ppose to look like me?" He shrugged, "If you say so." He looked back at the meat head, it did resemble his silhouette at least the one he would see looking back at him in the water he drank.

"Very well, Welcome to the mafia. I suppose you will be a thug for the time being, until we get to know you better. Now that you are accepted, what other questions do you have, if any?" It was all just like a business deal to him. Sure he protection and a steady supply of food. But no one had really been much more than that to him.

"Yes, it's supposed to look like you... I guess it could have used more work though..." When Elegance heard her rank, she gave a grin that was a mixture of joy and disappointment. A Thug? It sounded rough for her sort of class, but beggars couldn't be choosers, huh? "Hmm, questions?" Elegance thought for a moment, "None that I don't think I can learn on the job," Turning away from Flynn, a question suddenly occurred to her, "Actually, one question. How many members are there in this pack? I want to know how many people I'll be sharing space with..."

He looked up at her, "It's not that you need to work on it. It's that I have terrible eyesight." He almost gave a grin. A moment of being wolf-friendly. The shrew was distracted by the potential meal, so the wolf part of him was allowed to take over.

Perhaps he should explain why she was a thug? "Thug is what we call the murders starting out. If I were to see you kill something in a unique and different way aside running up and ripping into it. Then I would call you an Associate. They are basically equal in respect, but slightly different skill sets."

He watched her blurry form move, "How many? Well. There are four of us that are here the most. You would be the fifth. The others that joined have well...disappeared." There was an ominous tone in his voice, as if they had done something to displease the leader. "You are the second female at the moment, if that helps clear anything up."

He turned and took a bite out of the art work, clearly the shrew in him overpowered his will to be polite and wait for her to finish questioning before he ate.
