He jumped in the lake and felt his snake tale flow out, swirling around in the dark water. It was dark in the jungle, frogs bouncing around, birds chirping, the occasional dragon roaring overhead. Graham sang underwater, a sweet melody with his baritone singing voice.
Everything is new today Nothing has been seen Today is a new dawn And the sun has just risen He held out the last note until he got tired and then he breached the surface. Today IS a new dawn, and something wierd is going to happen, I just know it... He ran to land and started panting. His eyes darted around, searching for something, ANYthing that might hurt him. He whimpered and waited.

Elpidia was bloated now and ready to birth soon. She knew that the time was near and that at any minute she could just burst out with life. Oh how she wished at moments like these that she was nothing more than a thought instead of a wolf. And she was foolish enough to obey that instinct to wander when the time was due. She was restless and knew that soon, her time would be up. The female Harbinger gave a lonely sigh as she wandered the collective thoughts of the hundredfolks. She needed an open mind if she was going to give birth. And she knew that she had limited time. After all her litters through the centuries… After all her experience, she could feel when her body was almost ready to go into labor. It was a moment when everything was holding its breath. When she would just have to let go and face the facts.
She waddled as she saw a bright thing of a rather vain creature. There was nothing she wanted more than to be reminded of how wide she had gotten. The five pups within her had marked one of her largest litters, with the largest being a rare instance of seven pups—of which only two survived past infancy. She gave a sigh. Perhaps this time, she wouldn’t be a mother as a snake was a mother. She would be a mother like a wolf should be. However, this was always what she thought of, this rush of maternal instinct, when her time was almost ready.
“Sum mater? Mater stulti…” She shook her head. “Bring me back Poccy’s ‘Te amo’….” She nosed her way outside the mind and pressed her muzzle against it.
“Manesne?” Why are you waiting? She leaned closer into his mind, a bubble and because of that, she assumed a Cael. She shifted uncomfortably. She then took residence in his mind. She needed to convince him of her existence before she went into labor… otherwise, her pups would have no chance.

"I don't know that language." He started hyperventilating. "A Harbringer," He said quickly under his breath. He had heard tales of them, particularly of one that had driven a Lyxxus crazy. He quickly assessed the situation. Don't panic, don't panic... He told himself to try and calm down. Then he realized it didn't work. He started trying to push the wolf out of his mind.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i437.photobucket.com/albums/qq94/NuckyGirl/wolfeh-6.png] Apocalypse was prowling through the dream realms, contemplating the progress of his plot. He had a foothold already, a potential Rider for his ideal conquest of the normal realm. His multiple smoke tails billowed behind him, the one on the furthest left was beginning to glow like smoldering embers, the symbol of the first step into the living realm.
His tall, strong frame paused and twitched, he felt like he was being beckoned. He had an overwhelming urge to seek out Elpidia. There were only a paw-full of times that he had ever wanted to seek her out....all of which involved the birth of his pups.
He turned his body, searching quickly through the minds that were closest to him. He had never been this close to her, usually one or the other had left the area after conception, with the exceptions of the first few litters they had made together.
He put his nose to the inky aire and inhaled, searching for the sweet smell of Elpie. He took off into a sprint, driving toward the strongest signal, leaping through inaccessible minds, using them only as stepping stones to reach his destination quicker. He slowed once he felt he was close enough to pinpoint her location.
There...there....at the bubble...
He arrived just in time to feel the Cael attempt to push out the tired Harbinger. An overwhelming rage took him, this welling of fatherly pride and mate protection. The mother of HIS pups needed a place to whelp. And this insignificant pion was trying to shut Elpie....HIS Elpidia out into the chaotic realm of dreams.
He could not stand for that.
"How dare you!" His voice was strong and menacing, in a language that he could understand. "Don't you even think about closing your mind to an expecting mother." His voice was a deep, thunderous growl. His shadowy figure materialized with his voice, tall, dark, strong. Every aspect of a wolf that should be obeyed.
He strode in front to Elpidia, standing at an angle to shield her from the rejection. He would force this wolf to listen to him...his silhouetted muzzle peeled back to show the eerie glistening of fangs.

Elpidia’s face held a luminescent glow of gratitude when her long-friend, long-enemy and long-time-everything took his place as her protector. Such a rare deed to witness! She hardly ever saw her Poccy due something so heroic and unselfish. And it filled the pregnant mother with a warm sense of love. This was the reason why she didn’t kill him. Because she knew, that deep down, these rare moments were treasurable.
Her blue coat shone brighter until to gaze upon it would be dangerous to the eyes. Her eyes shimmer-shone with a yellow like a blazing sun. And the light escaped her mouth as if she had swallowed every star in the sky. She was a creature of dreams. Her mate, in the definition as the father of her children, was the vision of nightmares. And yet, they respected each other with these few moments.
“Apocalypse…” her tender voice etched into the sky-scape. The dream’s song floated and she pressed against the bubble that marked the edge of this Cael’s mind. “Eres nemo sine me.” You were nobody without me… However, it was said with a joking voice, as if she didn’t think his personality was really… right unless he was acting for her.
And she shut her eyes and leaned into Graham’s thought further and further until she was comfortable inside. He couldn’t push her out this time. Because this time, there would be no time. “Fac nihil!” Do nothing! Elpidia sighed deeply as her body gave way to contractions. Labor had started. “Serva meos filios… Fac nihil… Amabo te…” Save my children… do nothing… please… A plea for Graham to not push her out. And she knew that if he ruined the chance for future Harbingers, then he’d have to face an everlasting nightmare. She wasn’t one to let a sin like this go. She wasn’t going to go through this pain for nothing! And so, she pleaded. Subdued. It wasn’t up to her now. It was up to this Cael.
And her body was wracked with pain. She wouldn’t call for help. She simply endured and shut her eyes as the first pup presented himself. And quickly, he was born. She looked around the cold mind of a Cael, hoping for it to warm up, as she tenderly licked her newborn to life. “Nikolai.” She named him, and looked through the milky film of the mind’s bubble to see her guarding mate.

Graham suddenly felt another Harbringer, this one yelling at him to not push out the birthing harbringer. Then he heard the mother pleaing what he assumed was to not push her out. He suddenly felt another being pop into his mind, and his mind shut down. He layed back, feeling overly stressed, and he waited for whatever was going to happen to happen.

His form was that of a solid and strong male, he placed a massive paw onto the subconscious of the Cael, as if forcing him to remain still and steady. He would stand vigil, keep an eye out for his pups, just in case something were to try to attack.
His four tails billowed out behind his form as he stood silent and protective of his brood. This time they would live. This time he would help them, at least for a little bit.

Elpidia watched with a tired expression as her dear Apocalypse approached. “I wish you were full of love even when I wasn’t birthing your pups.” She blinked slowly and then looked at the newborn. She nuzzled him and he turned a warm pink color to show that he was pleased. She picked him up and placed him at her stomach, so that he could suckle.
Her stomach quivered with contractions as the second pup started to be whelped. He was taking his time and she knew that such a time meant that he was being deprived of the air in the dreamworld. She whimpered when she thought of giving birth to a dead pup, but stayed strong. She must always stay strong. The pup was taking a lot out of her and already she was fatigued. His head finally poked out and after a bit of a struggle, Elpidia gave birth to him as well.
She was too tired to think now and let instinct take over. She quickly reached down and took the pup to place him at her stomach. The third pup, the first daughter, was born easily, much to Elpidia’s relief. But the fourthborn proved just as difficult as the second—more difficult due to her weariness.
Her struggling filled the mind of the Cael wolf and she wondered if his thoughts were being chopped up by the residence of her pups and herself as well as the father. There was hardly any room for his own mind and Elpidia hoped that it would make a good temporary ‘den’ for the rearing of her pups. A nice hole to reside in until her puppies could walk.
And she finally screamed out in pain. Her labor made her paws sweat and her colors dulled because of the hurt. She made her eyes shine bright red to show her displeasure.
“Facibasne me?!” she asked with clenched teeth to her mate. What have you done to me? But she always asked that when pregnancy and motherhood was being harsh. And Elpidia shut her eyes as she pushed the pup out. A runt. All that pain for a runt. Grumbling, the new mother placed the new son to her teats and felt another pup presenting herself.
Elpidia frowned and birthed her final pup. She was tired and then placed her new daughter at her teats. She looked tiredly, still in pain as she raised her head. “I’m done…” And she laid her head down and quietly fell to sleep.

Graham felt all the pups in his mind, and suddenly, something snapped. His bubble of a mind was being chopped up by all of the harbringers, and then, it popped. Gar Started freaking out. "What just happened!?" He screamed, and then, he was a sitting duck, unable to do anything more.

One life time never contains enough time to see everything. Even if you have forever things have a knack for slowing you down. But the unborn pup riding in Elpidia did not know this, and if you could tell her she would not care. Even though the pup was not fully developed yet there was one thing she knew, or felt. She wanted. She wanted to get out, she wanted to be free of Elpidia. She did not know what was outside of the protective walls of her mother's stomach but she wanted out.
The pup knew when it was time. Her four siblings had gone before her and now it was her turn. The last pup readied herself before slipping free of her haven.
Once out, the nameless pup instinctively knew what to do, for the first few steps at least. More out of habit than out of need, the unnamed pup wriggled towards her mothers teat. The warmth felt comforting to the young pup, blind and deaf. She felt a powerful sense of safety. Wherever she was in the big world she knew nothing about, she had no reason to fear.

The long painful process made him tired just from watching. His ears fell back once she yelled at him in Latin, he did not have to well versed in it to know that she was blaming him for all her pain. She always did.
He felt the mind of the host shudder. His ears came back up and he peered around the sky scape, trying to see through the eyes of the cael. He was prone and in the open. Anything could come in and attack him. Poccy could not have that. His pups were not strong enough to leave this mind yet. He inserted his will into that of the cael.
"Move. You must move." He did all he could to mimic the voice the host had for himself. "Must find cover." He urged very strongly, trying to push the wolf to safety long enough for his brood to leave.
He came back to Elpidia's side once the last pup made its way out. His red eyes burned brightly as he gazed at the runts squirming against Elpie's lovely belly. They would be competition later...or maybe allies. He stood sentry by her side, watching the whiffs of smoke and cloud mewl and fuss.

Elpidia whimpered quietly as all five pups were born. They all seemed healthy enough. Small and wriggling, wanting only to live. Poor pups. It was a shame she brought more Harbingers into the world. She could only see their futures… as they lost the will to live because they couldn’t will to others that they did in fact live. And to forget to be… that was simply how a Harbinger died. Or. At least how Elpie decided it.
Even though most wolves would define her as a thought, Elpie was in fact a wolf and was extremely tired from the birthing of the pups. And she barely realized that the mind of the Cael had burst from their residence in it. Besides, it was right that it did so—she had quite literally used him simply to give birth in a mind that wasn’t one of her precious King named Rostyn. She sighed quietly and said to Apocalypse.
“I’m going to sleep now… Debemus fugere…” We ought to be fleeing… She nuzzled the pups by her stomach. “Tell this Cael to move toward the sea. I need to get back to the Kingdom… And with all these pups… it seems impossible.” She spoke perfect English mostly because she knew that Apocalypse didn’t remember his Latin too well.
And she quietly went to sleep, pups still suckling at her teats despite the fact they needed no milk.

Ooc: Graham can RP going to the sea-side and then feeding himself to a blind serpent because his mind is broken. Then the thread is almost done!
