Had he ever left the cove since starting the pack? He didn't think he had. And now was as good of a time as ever to try it.
Rostyn's paws raised dust as he padded down the last of a reddish rock trail leading to the bottom of the canyon. He was surrounded by the rock that he walked on. Some of it was darker and some of it was lighter, but it was all similarly colored, covered with dust, and all around him.
It was dry and warm here, even though it was autumn. The warmth was a welcomed feature, for in the cove it was already getting colder and wetter, as it did during this season. It rained a lot there, too. Here it was dry, and he liked that.
At last Rostyn reached the bottom of the canyon. The ground was the same rock that the path had been made of, though there was more dirt on it and in some places shrubs and half-dead plants could grow. Near the river, where there was more dirt and more moisture, dry grasses grew in patches, though most of it was not very tall. At least the river was quiet. There were no rapids, though the current was swift. The noise was soft; calming, even. It was nice in comparison to the roaring of rapids. It gave him a chance to hear his own thoughts.
Rostyn walked all the way to the edge of the river. There, he lowered his head and drank, keeping his ears alert for sounds of approach, just in case, though this place seemed deserted. The dusty trek to the canyon bottom had layered his nose and throat with dust. At least the water would clean out his throat. It felt good, too. The water was cool; a welcome relief in the dry warmth of the canyon.
Once finished quenching his thirst, he began to walk along the river, calmly surveying the canyon around him. It was beautiful in it's own way, though plain as well. Still, it was nice enough for his walk. He needed the change in scenery.

To put Essy's mind in to a simple statement, she was bored. Her paws itched to run, to be productive, but she simply paced the scarce rock at the very top of the canyon. The brilliant colors of sunset danced across her fur, except that the sun was still high in the sky and the hues were from her natural fur color. Rowaness licked her muzzle with anticipation and peered down the gorge. She saw the small outline of a wolf the color of newly fallen snow, with some pepper black hairs thrown in. Another wolf... that gives me something to do.
Essy whirled on her heels and ran along the edge of the gorge where she had been standing. She was slowly outpacing the wolf, running ahead of it in the same direction he was going. It would be nice to maybe meet some random wolf and maybe seduce him or her a bit before disappearing. Rowaness was a naturally attractive wolf, and she sometimes found love as a bit of a game made up of three self-enforced prospects that she lived by... bisexuality, flirting, and mating. Not that she was some kind of prostitute... that was a little profane for her. Essy just liked to flirt around.
Soon, Essy let herself slow her pace and look back down in to the canyon. Beside the grassy riverside far behind her was the white wolf. She was too far away to scent the being, tell its species or tell its gender, but she could tell it was alone. Rowaness glanced down the side and realized that she was at a good place to emerge in to the lower part of the rocky cliffs. The wall wasn't too steep and had worn away notches or ledges to slow her descent. Essy held out her front paws and dug her heels in to the ground as her lithe form skid down the canyon wall.
When she had finally reached the bottom, the young she-wolf darted to approach the other wolf. She stopped a short distance away and recognized it as a male Lupus. "Hey there," She said in a somewhat seductive, yet still cocky voice. (It was the equivalent of a teenage girl's voice towards a cute guy.)

A sound on the rock wall caught his attention. The wall wasn't as steep here, and it was easier to traverse. Apparently, someone had realized this, and was taking the risk of sliding down the rock wall. He stopped walking and watched, his eyes both wary and curious at the same time. The individual sliding down the rock wall now had to be only around half his size. It's ears were larger than most wolves, and he could see that it had more than one tail. The color of it's fur was like fire to him; it blended in with the surrounding rock walls. A lyxxus wolf, then.
As the Lyxxus came to the bottom of the canyon and moved closer, he noted that it was female. A female Lyxxus. The extra tail wasn't so bad. He could deal with that. It was horns and wings that bothered him. That didn't mean he was thrilled to see a wolf with an extra tail.
He turned to face her as she came to a stop some distance away from him. It was a sunny day, and his white fur stood out more than usual in the sunlight. She, on the other hand, blended in. She was also pretty, he could see. His eyes scanned her body, admiring it, as she spoke.
"Hello," he answered in his soft, musical voice. Normally he was not this interested in strangers, unless they were on his territory. But he found her interesting, perhaps because she had approached him so suddenly.

Part of Rowaness made her feel somewhat like a stalker, because she approached him so suddenly. She tried to consider carefully her next move, next words, even her next thoughts. Essy scanned her eyes along the white Lupus's body. His bright eyes seemed to do the same to her... study her. Did he find her attractive? Essy felt up to a bit of seducing, especially if this good looking James Bond was involved...
"I'm a little lost," She put on an innocent act, though she guessed he would be able to see through it. Then again, any smart wolf could, even if they were male. "What are you doing around these parts?" She cocked her head curiously and blinked her eyes slowly a couple times. Even if she didn't have the same bushy appearance of a female Lupus, her slim fire red body gave her a feisty, feminine streak, or so she had always imagined.
Essy let her front paws slide forward and stretched like a large cat, yawning in the process. When she closed her jaws once more, she started to pace a bit, around the other wolf. He was a handsome guy, and maybe he would be of some use to her. Essy knew that she must be acting very strangely, especially for a she-wolf, but she didn't care a bit. Since when had such a seducee cared about her own appearance as far as personality went? She just played it by ear.
ooc ; I know, Essy's a bit odd a character...

He knew that she was looking at him, just as he was looking at her. Something clicked in his head; he was looking more closely than normal at this female. But she was pretty. Not like some of the other females that had wandered into his territory. Not like Elpidia, whom he could not see. She was pretty. One of the first pretty females he had seen since being here and creating a pack. In Rostyn's mind, the word "pretty" was all that he could think of to describe her. "Beautiful," "hot", and "lovely" never once crossed his mind. Well, "lovely" did, but not the others.
He didn't stop looking at her. In fact, he really wasn't sure what to do now. What else was there to look at?
He smiled as she spoke. A soft smile; even kind, in a sense. Sure, she had an extra tail. But he liked what he was looking at. "Are you, now?" he asked sweetly. "Perhaps I can help you with that." He took a step forward. It wasn't too hard to see that she was acting. The manner in which she had approached him told him that this innocent act was not her.
"I'm just taking a walk. Enjoying the scenery," he grinned at her. He was patient, watching as she stretched and yawned. It showed off her slim figure. And he couldn't stop watching her. She really was lovely. He let her circle him, watching...watching. But he did nothing. Nothing at all. Not yet. He was still gaging the situation.

All the interest and acting along that the other wolf showed to Rowaness just made her want to play around a bit more, to toy with his feelings a bit more, to seduce him a bit more. A bit more. She showed off a bit as she paced around him before stopping after a couple complete circles. "A walk. How lovely." She spoke calmly, with a school-girlish hint in her voice.
Essy padded up beside him, just barely allowing her brilliant orange fur to intertwine with the tips of his long, bushy white mane. She hopped ahead a few paces and swished her tails in the wind, blinking like a common flirt would. "The name's Rowaness. My friends call me Essy, though." She paused and looked away for a minute, before looking over her shoulder and blinking again. She looked at him over her shoulder for a few more minutes before she turned around completely and walked back towards him at an angle, so she passed her two fire hued tails right under his muzzle. "You are my friend, right?"
Rowaness shook her tails again, turning around to face him instead of looking over her shoulder a second time. She kept up a somewhat innocent act. At least, as innocent as she could seem to such a handsome young dog wolf.

She reminded him of a cat. But she was a Lyxxus after. His eyes stayed trained on her as she circled again. There was nothing in his posture to suggest that he was wary of her. There was no tension, as there might have been at other times. His eyes were trained on her. His ears were trained on her. He ignored ther est of his surroundings. Never before had he allowed himself to be so entranced. What was wrong with him? He wasn't sure he even wanted to know. Where was Elpidia when he needed her? She could have done something about this.
When she stood beside him, their fur just barely touch him, he nearly tried to brush up against her. He wanted to feel her touch. Why? He wasn't sure. But then she was gone, ahead of him, and he was left, blinking almost stupidly. Her two tails waved in front of him. It was as if they were teasing him. And then she came back, flashing her tails beneath his nose. He breathed in her scent, closing his eyes and committing it to memory. "Rowaness," he repeated softly, then opened his eyes and looked at her. A grin spread across his face. "I am if you want me to be," he answered.

As the two flirted, Essy's ears went up a bit when she heard her real name. Rowaness. She hated that name from the core of her heart, but from his lips... it didn't sound half as bad. It sounded attractive and very, very beautiful. As he continued, she listened intently. She tried to look somewhat calm towards him, but she saw his mischievous grin and her own muzzle turned upward in the same sneaky expression. She sniffed him slightly, and a realization dawned upon her. He was from a pack!
"You're a pack wolf, aren't you?" She let the words slip from her tongue without hesitation, but kept her expression the same. "By the cocky way you act, I'd guess you were an alpha." Essy turned around and looked over her shoulder at him again. Her eyes were bright and her voice almost a purr when she spoke yet again. "Every alpha needs an alphess, doesn't he?" The whole statement was spoke with the tone of a question, and Essy knew that this would be the big moment. Did he reject her, or would he move in on her?
Rowaness liked this wolf. Despite her previous situation of being bored, he was here, he was available, and he was handsome. What more would she like in a mate? "But... you don't have one already, I hope." She spoke, just to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Rowaness was a pretty name, he thought. It had a sort of ring to it, and he liked it. To him it sounded strong; regal, even. Perhaps it was the ess on the end.
He had failed to tell her his own name. He would have to do that when he had a chance.
"That I am," he answered confidently. What difference did it make if he was from a pack? Surely none at all. "Though, the rank is called King in my pack, if you want to be technical about such things." The title of King made him feel more self-important. He wasn't always this cocky, but today it seemed reasonable.
"That is very true," he responded. So far, he hadn't moved nearer to her at all. But he watched her with his bright, intelligent, and interested eyes. She was beautiful in those eyes. Her name was beautiful to his ears. He was caught, it seemed, by this female.
"Have one already? No, sadly not." His smile widened. "I have been looking for one, however..." he trailed off. 'Are you volunteering."

Rowaness continued to appear flirty while the other wolf spoke. His deep, thunder like voice was handsome, though it wasn't too powerful like a god. She was glad it wasn't- it would've made him seem fake. There was something about him, and she was attracted to it. When he came to the last part of his speech, about her volunteering, she decided to play it cool. "I shall volunteer, that is, if you want me too,"
She was now standing with her two tails waving as they hung over her back, which was towards him. Her emerald green eyes were unquestioning, and they simply seemed to ask him if he was up for it. Her eyes blinked slowly as if to seduce him, and two long scarlet ears laid at angles on the top of her head, relaxed but ready for whatever may come. Her narrow, pointed muzzle was raised with pride, but only because she was no prostitute- if he mated with her, she would simply allow him and possibly even carry his pups. If she did, she would carry them as if they were hers and hers alone. Back to the present tense, though, Essy stared at him with wonder.
Her last words before she waited for him in silence were simple. "Do you want me to?" She then continued to simply stand and listen for whatever he may do next. She would be ready.

The smile on his face was triumphant. Perhaps today he would have himself a queen. It seemed she was willing, unless she was tricking him in that. Even so, he would still enjoy himself.
He took a step forward when she answered, but then stopped, willing himself to control his body. Her tails were waving in front of him, and so close, too. Even though she had two of them, it wasn't bothering him, as it should have. She was beautiful and tempting. The tails were just a part of her, and suddenly there was nothing wrong with that one extra appendage. Perhaps this was what it took to get over his prejudice.
He wanted her.
He knew that. And by now, she might know it to. It was written on his face. But he wasn't someone who just leaped into a situation. He glanced up at her eyes, always trying to be certain, but he found no questions in those beautiful eyes. The smile on his face was soft now.
He stepped forward, but did not stop until his muzzle hovered above her ear. "So, you would like to be my queen?" he whispered to her, his voice soft.

Rowaness continued to let him approach before his maw was just by her ear. She twitched the ear towards him, letting curiosity keep her steady. He murmured words to her, and she in turn spoke with the purr and grace of a cat. Right before the words came out, though, she realized she didn't even know his name. She would ask him later. "You're one strange King, off on your own," Essy spoke with a tone of indecision just to toy with him, but she knew her answer already and waited a moment before completing it. "But I shall take you up on that offer. Before we get too intimate, though, tell me your name, King."
She spoke with a young innocence as she let her pupils dart to the corners of her eyes to observe him without moving her head. He seemed somewhat older than she, maybe by a few winters at least. His frame was strong, but he was definitely not overweight or heavy. If they did end up mating, she had little a worry about not being able to hold his mass atop her lithe figure.
Essy let her eyes drift back in front of her, and before he answered, spoke once again, softly and more controlled then seductive. "You're one great wolf, whoever you may be. If you would wish, you may be my King." Rowaness never knew what it was like to be a pack wolf, and wasn't very ambitious, though she had to admit having power over other wolves would definitely be something she enjoyed, even if it was just as a Queen.

"You're not the first one to say I'm strange," he muttered softly in response, a smirk on his face. "But don't worry about that." He'd only added that in because of the indecision in her voice. She almost fooled him with that. But he was patient. A stab of indecision ran through him, though, in response. Soon, though, he was decisive again, because she answered him. "Hmmmmm. My name? Rostyn." He just now realized that his own named started with the same letter as hers. "I meant to tell you before, but I got a little...distracted."
She was so tiny compared to him and his forty-two inches and one hundred pounds. She wasn't even half his weight. Would he hurt her? As much as he wanted her, he didn't want to crush her, either. And she was young. Only two, so her tails said. He was five. So much older. But she was very tempting and lovely and...age was nothing. He could ignore that. But what about their size difference?
"You will be a lovely Queen, Rowaness.....Essy." He preferred Rowaness, but he tried the nickname nonetheless. Slowly, his eyes followed the lines of her body, and he stepped backwards, drawing away from her. She was beautiful.
Instinct was taking over, but he kept just enough control to remind himself to be careful, because he weighed so much more than she did. He was behind her now, looking at her tails again. Before now he had been taking it slow, but his body was impatient. He didn't want to wait anymore.
Without any more hesitation, he lifted his front half and fell forward, over her back, trying to keep as much weight off of her as possible. There was still doubt in his mind, about if she would accept him. But he wasn't going to let this opportunity run away from him.

As the other wolf who called himself Rostyn spoke a bit and then went to mount her, Essy could feel that he was trying to keep his weight off her petite frame. She could tell the actual mating would be a bit difficult once it started, especially considering age and size differences. What about pups? She'd die trying to give birth to Myou pups!
But they won't be Myou, Rowaness. She cringed when she used her full name, even in her thoughts. They'll be part Lyxxus, too, and if the gods favor you they'll be small and manageable. Oh, how Essy hoped that would be true.
She glanced over her shoulder at Rostyn and spoke softly. "Don't go to extra limits. I can handle your weight." With that, Essy braced herself and bent her legs a bit to keep her knees from buckling under the pressure when he would release his full weight on to her and make an entrance. Rowaness was willing to, though, for the sake of her new mate, for the sake of being a queen.
And the world fades to black as the two mate...
