He turned his dark eyes around the Tundra, scouting out for other life. The place was cold, and barren, and windy. The wind could be heard howling on this day. The ground was cold underpaw as he shambled along, and he shivered.
Basically, this place sucked.
Archer's small ears flicked in annoyance. Why any wolves would want to live in this hellhole was beyond him. But, he'd heard that the pack that lived here had quite a few Myou, more then most, and he supposed it was better to flock to one's kind when one got the chance. That didn't mean he had to like this frozen dump.
So, here he was, padding along to frozen tundra, looking for any signs of life, preferably intelligent enough not to sneak up on him. He'd had enough surprises with that annoying Lupus a while back. Archer hoped that Lupus would not forget that little incident, it'd cost him dearly. Archer did not take kindly to surprises, insults and the like. Not to mention, he had pretty good motivation for anyone who would dare annoy him to not do it again. It should be enough motivation to not even do it in the first place. This Myou's quills were not pleasent to get stuck in your hide.
The continuation of his search had better not last long, or the continuation of his patience would end abrubtly.

Shaina pranced playfully and wobbly through the Shinkou mountains, the pack lands. Typically, the mountains are always cold. But although Shaina has short, Grey fur, she has grown used to it. Yes, she still gets cold. But not as much as she used to be. Shaina's body shivered once from a cold wind that swept through the grounds. Yet she continued her search for something shiny. Nothing yet. She needed something new for her collection.
She kept her nose to the ground. Her nose was now the old part of her body that was typically freezing! But she shrugged the feeling away. All she could smell was some snow that was raiding her nostril. She snorted and continued.
The sun rose high in the sky and became bright. Something bright that was twinkling caught her eye. The reflection nearly blinded her for a split second. She sat there for a minute and regained her focus and went over to inspect the strange item. She sighed as she noticed it was just a shiny, clean rock. She sighed and took the rock in her muzzle.
She began to prance again, holding the rock securely in her mouth. She began to scent another wolf and looked curiously. Being curious, she dropped the rock and approached the male.
When he came into view she tilted her head slightly as stopped in wonder. He was a different type of Yagi. She pondered for a second. Or was the wolf a myou? She finally came to a decision that it was a myou. She came a little closer and gulped, then noticed the quills on his side.
She began to feel a little fearful, and doubtful. She was sure that the male had seen her by now, but if need be she had her pack to defend her. Even if she was a much smaller wolf than they were. "H-Hello?," she gulped as she spoke and then changed her mind and turned around speedily and tried to run to her father or mother. "Mommy!!... Daddy!!," she yelled as she attempted to escape. Her legs failed her and she plummeted onto the ground face first. She was left in a daze. She stayed still yet lifted her head and looked up and around for the strange male.

He turned immediatly as he heard something. Pawsteps, small ones. What his gaze beheld surprised him, and annoyed him. This was not what he was looking for!
Behind Archer stood a pup, a rat myou, from the looks of it. She was staring at him, as if he was somthing out of this world. "What, child?" He sneered, half hoping the scrawny thing would go away. It tried to stutter hello, before it ran off, screaming at the top of her lunges for her parents.
He watched her go with coldly level eyes, until she fell over onto the ground. Oh, brilliant! Inwardly sighing, he padded up to her. She hadn't gone far before she'd tripped. Archer towered over her. "Hey, runt." He asked. "You okay?" It was then that it occured to him that this pup might belong to the pack he was trying to join. He bent down carefully and sniffed at her soft fur, gingerly trying not to let any of his quils poke her. She didn't smell injured.

Shaina caught her focus again and her daze was over. She blinked and looked around as she heard the male pad up from behind her. Her stature stiffened softly in fear. She looked up as the male towered over her and half scared her to death.
'Hey, runt,' the male said.
She narrowed her eyes at him and her body relaxed. She knew she was a runt, but that didn't mean she wanted to admit it. She kept quiet--maybe the wisest decision she had ever made at this point in her life.
'You okay?,'the male asked.
Shaina blinked. "Yes." Then the wolf bent down and sniffed at her fur. She leaned back wards a bit, trying to awkwardly avoid any contact with her fur, and those quills. She smiled. "Who are you?" Strangely she was excited now because she felt somewhat protected by the male. Her fur-less tail hit the snow covered mountain rather roughly, yet she ignored it.

PADDING slowly through the snowy lands of the tundra, Erulassé was quiet, thoughtful even. Things were going rather fast for her liking, she preferred to take things slowly and think them over before making a decision. But then, she reasoned, she was getting older, her reactions were getting slower. She had to admit to herself that if she lost this pack, she would die, unable to feed herself. The Free Minds was not only her family now, it was her lifeline. Ezzawrath was of the same opinion, now she was finally awake once more, she was in no hurry to take that eternal sleep.
WITH a sneeze, she shook such depressing thoughts away, pausing to tend to an itch behind her ear. As she did, she heard a shrill scream, the words 'Mummy!!' & 'Daddy!!' catching her attention immediately. What was a pup doing down here, on the cold, open and dangerous tundra? Peering across the snow-covered land, she spotted the little pup, along with a larger, rather odd looking creature.
PULLING herself off the ground, she covered the distance between them in minutes, arriving just in time to hear their exchange. The little rat-pup, Shaina, seemed perfectly fine, so Eru gave a sigh of relief and a nod of greeting to her strange companion. "Shaina, darling, you really should stay in the safety of the den." She smiled softly, before returning her gaze to the spiney Myou. "And you, my friend, do you have a name and a reason for being here? I am Erulassé, an Alpha of the residing pack, the Council of Free Minds."
( Sorry it took me so long and is so short... I've been a little museless, mum's been painting and it kept giving me a headache. :< )

He watched calmly as the apparent mother of the little rat walked up. But Archer had to try with all his might not to sneer at the polite and perfect tone that she was using. She was, the Alpha, after all.
"Hey, I'm Archer." He said stiffly, inclining his head respectfully. "I came hereabouts to check out the pack that's supposedly livin' 'round here. Maybe join up." He said, checking out "Erulasse." She didn't seem like the alpha type he'd emagined.
The wind howled again as a fresh gust blew across the landscacpe and through his fur. He shivered so hard his quils rattled. "Nice setup you have here." He said sarcastically, looking annoyedly around the landscape. Did he mention this place was a hellhole...?

Shaina began to hear another padding up to them quickly. She turned around and noticed a white figure; Erulasse, apparently. Well, that wasn't the person she had called out for. She called out for her mother, but she supposed the alphess would do.
"Shaina, darling, you really should stay in the safety of the den."
She smiled and replied sweetly, "I was just exploring, when I met this nice male." She watched as Eru turned her attention to Archer.
"And you, my friend, do you have a name and a reason for being here? I am Erulassé, an Alpha of the residing pack, the Council of Free Minds."
Shaina just listened as the adults talked amongst her.
"Hey, I'm Archer." He said stiffly, inclining his head respectfully. "I came hereabouts to check out the pack that's supposedly livin' 'round here. Maybe join up."
Shaina nodded for no apparent reason. There was a blistering wind that rolled quickly through the tundra. Shaina shivered and comforted herself by clinging to the warm leg of Erulasse.
"Nice setup you have here," he said sarcastically.
Shaina smiled. "Only if your a crazy wolf!," she said, not noticing the sarcastic in his voice. "This is the coldest place in the world. Strangely it doesn't bother me as much as it once did. But even still," she paused and gazed at her fur-less paws and tail, "when you have no fur, its just a little more cold to you, than it is to others." She kept clinging to the warm leg between her paws.
