Fyodor smiled as it seemed that his flower-giving was accepted by both females. Asoshia Nicko didn’t seem offended and Keely seemed particularly happy. Her joy made him blush a bit, but luckily his long-haired coat and his bright fur kept such an embarrassing notion hidden. Fyodor bit his lip nervously as he looked expectantly to Asoshia, but with askance eyes. He didn’t want her to notice him looking at her.
But when he didn’t hear his name from her lips, he felt a bit crestfallen. Another moment where his flaws must be showcased, put on some grotesque display for all to see. And he was talking about his stuttering. Fyodor didn’t feel too good about his stuttering, but decided it was better than having cute little Keely look at his small leg—as he mistakenly did for Asoshia and brought an onslaught of the mother-tone. But it appeared she got the hint… she did seem to stop that maternal way of talking.
Keely’s purple eyes looked graciously kind though. And her enthusiasm… he didn’t want to disappoint. But the only thing he knew how to do was disappoint it seemed. He was about to be the next Leader of the Pack… a republic with free vote… but he fell from favorite to the disappointment that the parents didn’t even want to call their blood-son.
So then, Lye cleared his throat. “I… M-my name is F-f-fyodor.” He winced under his stuttering, but continued nevertheless, “Some c-c-call m-me Lye.” He didn’t care which name he was called. But only that Keely didn’t scoff at him and think him unintelligent because of his stutter. He knew her age because of how many tails she had. Probably the reason he wanted to please her so badly was because she would understand what it is like to be different.

Her ears flickered forth at his words. A stutter? HOW CUTE! He tried so hard to hide it, but it did not bother her. Her father had a similar impediment, over-stressed syllables. Though he had corrected it after years of trying. When he got excited, he would slip into it now and again. Keely merely waged her tails, urging him with her eyes to try his best.
"Fyodor....Lye....." She played with both names on her tongue. She could not figure out where Lye had come from....A conversation topic! "Why Lye?" She giggled at her own little rhyme. She was genuinely curious though, her eyes were very expressive. She sets the flower down at her petite paws, wanting to preserve it a little.
She did not consider herself to be two terribly different from others. She always assumed that she was small because she was female. All her bothers were larger than her. Her mother was bigger than her as well, but that was okay because she was her parent. Keely had lead a relatively sheltered life. As friendly as she was, she really had not met many people on her own. She usually had a brother lurking in the shadows to make sure nothing happened.

Fyodor lowered his eyes, a sign of the fact that he did not have much confidence. Why was he called Lye? He didn’t really know what caused that nice female to call him such. She just came up with it one day, probably because she wanted to shorten his name since she never really got what he was called due to his stutter. It used to be much worse because he wouldn’t speak at all—too embarrassed to speak. However, then again, perhaps there was some hidden meaning under it all. What did Lye mean?
Lye. It was a caustic substance, was it not? It was a painful thing to come across if you did come across it pure. And he had no idea why she named him Lye. Perhaps she didn’t name him Lye. Perhaps, he was simply Lie because he never spoke a word of truth for her… because he never spoke a word.
“Keely? Is i-i— uh… it, a lie if y-you d-d-d-don’t say a word of the… the… the truth?” He tilted his head and gave a small frown. He knew that he didn’t answer her question, but he really didn’t know why she called him Lye… or even why he kept the name all these years. He simply liked the sound of it. The sound of a corrosive name. Even if he was named after a sin, it was the name of a criminal—not a soft-spoken, crippled wolf.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,420,true] | It just made her chuckle a bit two how the two acted. For someone her age, these two seemed pups, though, also not pups in a way. Her eyes blinked casually watching, and listening as she now laid in the grass. Her tail flicking behind her happily, just being happy listening to these two. Lifting her head, she soon hearing Keely's comment/ question on his name. Hesitating a bit on if to reply or not, though she lifted her head, and spoke anyway. "A name does not depend on how it sounds, or its meaning, a name is something that you like, and enjoy" she spoke with a soft smile. "Such as my name, i don't care if its hard to pronounce, or its meaning, i enjoy it" she lowered her head back down to her paws, though just lifted it back up.
Standing to her feet, she shook her fur for a moment, before looking toward the two, then sitting down. Today, was a nice day, though, something strangely catching me off guard. Raising her head to the sky, she looked up at it, though soon a soft snowflake touched my nose. "Snow, how.. nice" she spoke in a soft whisper, a smile on her lips. "Snow, its nice, its lovely, but cold, but in the end, it brings happiness" she spoke in random about the snow that fell, her mind just wondering with thoughts now.

Keely's little head tilted as she listened to Fyodor speak. Her twin tails flickered and twitched absently. His reasoning did not quite reach her, she was not that in tune to word play, aside happy rhymes of course. When the larger wolf spoke again Keely averted her attention back to her. Meaning of words? How strange. Names were names. Words were words.
The mention of snow made her stop worrying her little mind. Her eye lit up with fascination, she had not seen snow since she was small. She stood up and leaped up in the air trying to bite at the little flakes with her petite muzzle. Her giggled radiated with warmth and kindness. She pranced over to Fyodor, careful to avoid stepping on the gift flower.
"It's snowing, Fyodor." She paused, coming back to the name bit. "Calling you Lye confuses me..if I were to shorten your name, I'd call you Fye!" With that she put the whole ordeal to rest. In her mind she had resolved the troubling part. There was something new to focus on, the few stray flurries that decided to dance with them.

Snow settled on Fyodor’s head like flakes of diamond on a field of fire. His tuft ears were pinned back in an anguished expression. All the words he wanted to say, but he merely couldn’t say them. He could say them, technically, but who would listen? No one wanted to wait and hear what was on his mind. And he had long realized that no one cared what he had to say because he stuttered his way through it all. Even he didn’t care what he had to say anymore.
He kept his mouth shut and poked a muzzle at his small leg while tucking a plumed tail over the deformity. He heaved a heavy sigh and then turned his head away before summing up the courage to regain his voice.
“Pl-please. Call m-m.. I’m… I’m, I’m Lye… or F-Fyodor.” And he kindly let his blue-green eyes take her in. Like icy fires, they beheld her with such conviction and with a powerful interrogative notion. In an instant, he said everything by saying nothing. He asked her why.
But then, he realized that he was being insufferably rude. Instead, he bowed his head in an apologetic fashion. “I’m s-sorry.” And he bit his lip, “It just… just… eh… it just gets to me.” And he wobbled to his feet and started limping away, because he thought he did her wrong. The snow played in his coat, dazzling everything. But Fyodor didn’t see it like that. To him, it was impossible to be dazzled.
He thought it better to just leave before he was struck down. Because that was how it always went. When he tried to set himself free, he was stripped down to his bare nakeds and then cruelly beaten. Not beaten with blows, but with harsh words. That breaking of eye contact spelled disappointment. That wearied sigh was the first sign of hatred. And that shaking of the head was the real truth: that he was unredeemable.
Fyodor didn’t realize that neither Keely nor Asoshia had done this. He had done it all to himself. Trained to be a loser.

She looked at him with compassion in her eyes, laced with the happiness that seemed to flow out of her like honey. She felt that he may not be pleased, and it tugged at her little heart with such ferocity, that she almost lost her breath momentarily. She wanted everyone to be happy, and if she felt that someone was not happy...it made her sad. Or as determined as salmon migration.
She leaped toward Fyodor in a light prance that boded no harm. Her yellow body caught the pale light and her twin tails danced behind her lithe form. His eyes told her everything, his desperation to communicate properly the way he felt about his name. The gaze did not deter her though. She wanted to make him feel better.
"Fyodor!" She called as he walked away from her. Her cat like prance brought her closer to him, eventually to his side. She nudged him gently in the shoulder, "I'm sorry if I made you sad. Please don't leave." She gave him a pleading look, she really wanted to get to know him.
"If it bothers you, then I won't give you a nickname, I like the name Fyodor just fine. It's a nice name." She maneuvered in front of him and looked up into his face. He stood almost ten inches taller than her, he was older and probably wiser than she. Snowflakes fell softly around her. The bright white lily on her chest slowly moved up and down as she breathed. She gave a soft, pitiful whine that begged him further not to leave...

Fyodor’s ears were held in a lowered position. His throat had a trapped whine inside of it. The Lyxxus male felt a sense of abandonment and a quiet bitterness come over him. Time and again, he would always meet someone with this emotion, this state of thought, and sense of mind. His dire steps and his beating heart held a note of frustration. It always came to tatters and he knew there was no hope. He let the lone whine escape for once and his feelings were known to the snow-powdered grasses. But then, something happened that surprised him.
The rustling of grasses forced Lye’s ear to flicker backwards. His electrically colored eyes then slowly drifted behind him in faint, but sincere surprise. “You c-c-came.” Oh, how his insufferable stutter ruined what he considered a perfect moment.
This was Keely. She was still a stranger, yet he felt so close to her. Perhaps it was because the species was the same, but one thing was certain. He felt a certain… kindness from her. It wasn’t one that bordered on mocking him like Asoshia offered and he could feel that it was real. He hid a smile, but it was like hiding a lantern under the bed—you could always see the glow. It lit up in his eyes and his whole face was brightened.
“W-well, I suppose I could st-st-stay a… a little… lon—a little longer.” He struggled to get the words out, but felt a little more at ease with Keely’s openness.

Her ears twitched at his comment, well of course she came, why would she not? However she gave a soft smile, feeling his glow made her happier. Her light maw split in a happy grin, both her tails wavered with glee practically over her back.
She stepped closer to him and licked him gently on the cheek after his last utterance, "I would like that, Fyodor." Her bright eyes shimmered, glad to have the opportunity to get to know him more. She soon became distracted by a very large snowflake that landed on her light nose. Her little lungs emitted a beautiful giggle that trickled through the landscape like spring water.
It was the beginning of a new season of her life.....
