Forward and Onward [Kurai Birthing, Open]

[bg=524b45] [atrb=width,500,true] A series of loud huffing could be heard at the edge of the Regarae Sector. If a Wolf was to walk forward through the think underbrush they would see a rather large bellied female Yagi, in the middle of birth. Kurais coat was slick with sweat, and in some places tufted up. She lifted her head, looking behind her and below. A slick head was emerging. With a huff of breath, she gave another push. Hoping that the pups that Cesaru had implanted in her would just come out. After all, she wanted to see what they looked like, if they had horns yet, how big they were, if they acted like her. All of those things were motherly intentions, natural to others, maybe those that had birthed before but not her. This would be her first birth. She gave another huff and push, and than to her amazement, the rest of the pups body came out. She reached over to lick the pup dry, another motherly instinct. But soon after she was done licking off the first pup, more pains came over her. And bracing herself she gave another push. This last one though, came out much faster than the first. Soon that one was also licked dry. With a smile, Kurai raised her maw to the sky and gave a howl, calling the pack to come see her pups. He knew that Kurai had started her labor a while prior and he wondered where she stole away to whelp her pups. His sensitive nose—helped by the fact that he was half deer—caught her scent. He wondered if she was going to be angry with him for forcing her to move such a way, while in labor, just to birth them in the Regarae Sector. He had to admit that he didn’t advise it because he wanted what was best for the pups. He did so just so she could go through a bit more pain. He had followed her a ways before the buck’s soul forced him frozen again. And he watched, with longing eyes, the pregnant wolf fading in the distance. That was why he had to search for her now. It was because the deer overpowered his lupine soul again. He gave a snort as his large ears rotated to the sound of her hushed huffing. She seemed in pain. Raleigh walked a few steps, peered through the brush, and saw her in the heat of her labor. She was wet with sweat and between her swollen stomach and her efforts, she looked undignified. Raleigh frowned and felt his heartbeat racing again as the stag in him wanted to leap out of his body and make the deer-wolf become wholly deerlike. He himself gave a huff as he withdrew his eyes. At that moment, he left her in her moment. She didn’t deserve ridicule when she was birthing the pups. Soon, the mew of pup cries shattered the still silence. Raleigh kept his spot before he heard her tired, yet joyous howl. The deer-wolf came at his Lead Empress’s summon. A smile played upon his lips and he opened his maw and joined her song. His deer’s soul demanded he run. Demanded that he stomp upon the new life. In his mind, Raleigh took a tether and tied the unruly soul to his fortitude—signified by a powerful tree. It was only for his bravery that he was able to control the beast. Stay. And the deer answered with a hard glare. No. But he was trapped. Raleigh felt his senses dull and he watched the pups at Kurai’s stomach with cocked eye. “They look lovely, my Empress. Like gems. Just as precious, but in the end, worth more with age and the perfect cut.” And he nodded as he spun a metaphor from his silver tongue. Then the deer-wolf smiled. At last. I’m a wolf. He lowered his antlers a bit, to bow his head in respect. He knew his boundaries. This was a moment that demanded his silence and his obedience. There would be no hatred toward Kurai in this moment. The miracle of life was too precious to be torn apart by foolish grudges.

She was about to nudge one a bit closer when she saw Raleigh emerge, answering to her summuning howl. He seemed to sturggle with himself for awhile, before he looked at the pups and said, in his cunning tounge. “They look lovely, my Empress. Like gems. Just as precious, but in the end, worth more with age and the perfect cut.” Kurai was stunned for a moment at his words. Him!?Raleigh? Being nice? She quickly gained back her face of admireance for her pups. Maybe he was joyful at the sight of the packs first heirs. After all they were as he said, gems. Than to again slightly shift her stupor, he lowred his antlers. A sign of respect to her, the pack leader. She sighed and looked at her pups, the first one being a brown color with darker brown stripes and white paws, the second was a dark red wolf with lighter red markings. Both were amazing, both were hers, both were members of the pack. She looked up at Raleigh and said "They are gems. It squeaked painfully, being pressed into the ground forcedly. It's antlers snapped beneath my strong paws, though I was surprised that even I could do that. It almost wasn't worth it, killing this animal just for the fun of it. It was so small. So insignificant. As it began to puddle the ground, I picked it up, shaking it violently. It cried out once again, before it's form was limp, lifeless. Dead. As it should be. I was surprised that I had actually kept up with Kurai, feeding her from time to time and letting Rawls do some of the work too. Hey, I was also Dragga, so I had to keep up with the pack as well as feed this fae I had impregnated. Two or three at the most, as us Yagi's were big and we probably took up a lot of space in that womb of our mothers. I chuckled softly to myself as I thought of Kurai. A pretty Yagi, as most females really weren't that attractive as they were bulky and stocky, but she was a true beauty. Her horns were long and spiraling, somewhat like my own. She had spikes going down along her sides, and an uncharacteristic long tail. Her body was relatively thin for a Yagi, though still thick compared to many other species' females. However, she was very slender; something that would benefit our pups. As I began carrying the jackalope back towards where I supposed Kurai would be, the scent of birthing punched me right in the nose. Startled, I took a few steps back, analyzing the smell. Who-- KURAI! My cyanobacterial eyes widened, my feet sprinting through the trees in order to see the one whom I had entitled Lead Empress. Soon enough I was skidding to a halt outside Kurai's den, where the scent was wafting from. Raleigh was there as well, supervising the birth from outside the small den. I peered inside, and all seemed to be going well. Everybody was pleasant. I dipped my head to my alphess, nudging the jackalope carcass into her den. "I supposed you would be hungry, love." I crooned, laying on my stomach in the entrance. My head poked inside, my body probably blocking the view of the pups for Raleigh. I scooted a little to the side, so if he wanted to peek in too. Two baby girls, both red in color like myself. Kurai was a sort of black-y purple, but I guess they had both gotten my pelt color. I smiled down at them, when my facial muscles ached with this movement. I was used to smiling maliciously, but I had never smiled at something with love. And that's when it hit me; I loved these pups. I turned my head to the side, taking in some slow, deep breaths, trying to calm my visage. What was happening to me?! I sighed softly to myself, before turning my head to look at the two girls. "Any ideas for names, dove? Two girls, yes? Ahh... It's a shame there's no boys." No true heirs yet, I supposed. But there would always be more mating, I mean, Kurai and I were almost perfect together. We were both Yagi's, too, so we would have strong bloodlines. I reached out to touch the side of her face with my muzzle, washing her lips with my tongue. "They're beautiful, lady Kurai." I whispered.

Malicious sea-green eyes looked like ocean glass and it made Raleigh nervous to meet his eyes. He licked his nose in anxious appeasement. Raleigh threw his gaze upon the pups, blind and deaf from being newborn; they suckled at their mother’s side. It really threw Raleigh off to see Kurai so gentle and so beautiful in the way that new mothers were—with their body once so racked with pain and now so at peace. The deer-wolf smiled and said, “There are some things an advisor has no business sticking his nose into. Naming the pups is one of them—it’s a thing shared between father and mother. Nothing for me to dabble in.” Raleigh’s grin remained as he walked backwards awkwardly. His hooves pin-pricked the ground as the deer inside his head ran circles around the tree. It was driving Raleigh insane and he needed to say anything to escape these two before he hurt the pups with his struggling mind. The deer wanted control, but Raleigh attempted to keep the reigns. “And so, excuse me, but I’m thinking that you both have things to consider without my intrusion—these pups are yours and their fate is what you decide. Tell me if you need an advisor’s input.” He kept rambling in his nervous and running voice. Raleigh then gave a final bow and bounced over Cesaru in a graceful arc before he began a maddening dash to the swamp.

[bg=524b45] [atrb=width,500,true] Kurai looked up as Cesrus smell came to her nose, just a few seconds before he set a jackalope in front of her and spoke, than poking is head into the den. "I supposed you would be hungry, love." Than he was silent for a few moments, taking deep breaths as if to calm himself. Than he turned his head back to the girls, talking again. "Any ideas for names, dove? Two girls, yes? Ahh... It's a shame there's no boys." She leaned toward him for a moment, listening to what he said next. "They're beautiful, lady Kurai." She gave a smile and was about to reply when Raleigh spoke. She listed to his words with tolerance than gave a sigh as he bounded away. She turned to Cesaru. "The first is Tempest. And the second I am leaving you to name." She nudged the little ones away from her teats a moment, leaning in close and whispering to their tiny ears. "See loves, this is your father." They simpled mewed and nudged their way back to her teat again. As such young ones would do. With a smile she turned to Cesaru. I wasn't sure why, for I had a certain fondness for the antler crowned brute.. Eh, she was a new mother. I suppose she would be fiesty. I dipped my head to Rawls as he strode away, announcing his leave. He was a Myou, so there very well could've been somethin' up with him. You're not a Myou, Cesaru. The little voice in the back of my head snickered, but I quickly silenced it, in eagerness to watch my pups. They squirmed, the two of them, over top one another in order to get more milk from Kurai. She pulled them away for a moment to whisper to them, though I doubt they could understand her. "Both seem to have my coloring, eh?" I chuckled, scooting farther into the den and looping myself around Kurai's back, so she had something warm to lean on, if needed. As I looked over her neck at the two pups at her stomach, I smiled, nuzzling behind Kurai's ears and horns in order to help her relax. "As beautiful as their mother," I murmured. Osiris must have really been coming out, because I was never this gentle or sweet with females. In a way, I was afraid I was losing my touch. Hell, I had eaten puppies before now. Maybe it was because these two were my offspring... Maybe it was because of Kurai. Did I love her? I don't know. It was too soon to tell. Oh come on, Cesaru. Give Kurai what she wants. She deserves it more than you do. And for once, I gave in to Osiris. "Hmm. Tempest." I chuckled, for it was very ironic. My mother's uncle had been named Tempest, and he had been trying to kill both her and the pups inside her (or me and my litter mates, for the slow ones out there). He was a male, and she was a female, but I supposed it would be a suiting name. It was gender neutral, I suppose. And then she turned to me, and asked me to name the second pup. My brows furrowed as I softly rested my head across Kurai's neck. Hmm... A name of significance, perhaps. The only wolf in this world whom I actually had cared for within the last four years of my life would be either Kurai or Rexene, my sister. But Rexene had been a docile soul, not to mention she had been a creamy white. Thin and curvy, nothing like the pup below Kurai. Yagi's were stocky and brawny, and even though of course Kurai was quite thin and curvy for a Yagi, she would be nothing in comparison to Rexene. Would I be disappointed with her later, only because she wasn't living up to what Rexene had? I didn't want to curse my child with that. "Mmm... Well, perhaps Rexene..." I said, before I could think of another name. I bit my lip, though because I was behind Kurai she couldn't see me. "Or... Vesetai?" Vess, my other sister, was a sexy, skinny little thing. But she was a major bitch, too. Perfect for a name. "I personally like Vesetai.. What about you, Kurai?"

I shouldn't have gone hunting! She finally entered the den area and went to her den. Already, there were two other wolves. Her tail twitched as she saw Cesaru and Raleigh. She immediatly dipped her head. "M-My appologized, Emperor and Empress... I didn't mean to intrude so suddenly..." She said, keeping her head bowed. Caroline opened an eye to look at the pups. Two little females. She smiled softly. "They are beautiful, Empress." She said sweetly, still keeping her head low. She looked uncertainly towards Cesaru, wondering if he would be angry with her for coming in so suddenly. She was willing to leave if she was ordered too, and kept silent until further orders came. ---------------------------------- OOC: TwT Sorry it's short... I'm a bit out of muse right now.

[bg=524b45] [atrb=width,500,true] Kurai leaned back into Cesarus warmpth. "Yes, they do have your coloring, I do hope that next litter has some purple in them." She smiled at the pups below her. Looking at the unnamed pup first, than looked at Tempest. Tempest had to be her favorite, her horns were a bit bigger than the stubs on the unnamed female. She would make a perfect fighter later on. Nudgeing her thoughts aside, she waited for Cesarus next words, hopefully something about names. And he said two. Rexene, and than Vesetai. She smiled when he said witch one he liked, and she also liked the last as well. "Vesetai." Than she heard the voice of Caroline. She smiled and nuzzled Cesar before lifting her head from his shoulder. "Caroline!" She saw the she wolfs head. "Why hello Caroline, yes, they are, will you come in? There is enough room for all of us, no?" She turned to Cesaru. "This is Caroline, Raleighs favorite, and one of the new additions to the pack, she is a Empress." Before I could do anything else, however, a small, nervous voice sounded from outside the den. I turned towards whoever was speaking, frowning. "Speak confidently, young Empress, for it will get you far in this world." I corrected her before addressing her or the words she had spoken. I shifted behind Kurai, allowing my head to face the newcomer directly. "Caroline!" Kurai exclaimed joyfully, and I gave her a curious look. How did I not know who this was? Ahh. Perhaps it was because I had been out hunting for Kurai and the pups. I nodded to the young Yagi, a tight smile on my face. I sighed softly, relaxing my body. "Sure, come on in, miss Caroline." I invited her in, nudging the puppies out of harm's way. I reached over and picked up the one we had named Vesetai, putting her on my legs. She squirmed, mewing loudly at me and pushing on my pistons. I chuckled quietly, nuzzling her incredibly tiny frame with my nose. "They're so small... Are puppies always this small?" I had a feeling they were. I remember seeing the second litter of puppies my mother had whelped, and noted that they were smaller than these. I laughed softly, licking the little girl lightly. It really was a miracle that I was being so gentle. "So, Vesetai it is, for this little one." I nodded, nuzzling the spot under Kurai's jaw.

"Yes... Thank you.." She spoke softly to Cesaru and stepped farward. She grinned warmingly as she watched the Emperor carefully pick up the little fae and play with her. She sat down, her oddly full Yagi tail lying at her side. Caroline lifted her head to the Advisor. Ah yes... The deer wolf. She nodded to him. So far, this tribe had proven to her likings. "Ah, mistress, if I may advise, I am completely willing to look after your pups if you wish to take a running out to stretch your legs." She closed her mouth and looked to the ground, ears taking and odd twitch. How come the mention of looking after pups made her feel warm inside? Perhaps she wished she had pups of her own? No! That couldn't be right. If she had pups, then how could she keep up her flirtatious ways? If she had pups to worry about, then a lot of things would be different. Though, she really would watch Kurai's pups if she needed. She loved looking after the little bundles of joy, but she certainly didn't really want to have pups of her own quite yet.
