In The Heat Of The Night
A golden wolf trudged through the sand and mud as she weaved through the small strip of land that settled between the water and jungle. The night had an eerie howl of wind that made her shiver. It was slightly cold, even in summer, probably because she had just came out of the water. Tonight seemed a bit... irregular like something was going to pop out at her. There was a new moon so all was dark and had only a slight shaped outline. She calmed down a bit as she heard a nearby waterfall crashing down onto water. The three year old sat down.
A shiver ran through her spine as the wind seemed to whisper her name, 'Sailoon.... Sailoon... Sailoon'. "Stupid wind." She mumbled to herself. Sailoon got up and walked into the black water. Maybe a good swim would do her some justice. Her back tail emerged into dark green/blue scales. Her eyes widened to the incredibly warmth and looked beneath her. There was a faint red glow that swam beneath her. She scurried out of the water! "WHOA! HOT LAVA! HOT LAVA!" She yelled and dragged herself out of the water. Sailoon dried herself the best she could but before her legs were finished turning back to fur, she ran into the jungle as fast as she could.
As Sailoon went deeper and deeper, there was a thin layer of ash. The ash collected onto her golden paws, giving them a gray color. Then the smell of molten lava forced into her lungs at each breath, making her cough. A moment later she came upon a small stream of the red poison that bubbled with black as it flowed into the water at the other end. Wasn't very bad but it was something she did not to be around with. So she fallowed the stream lava back down to the water were it sizzled and steamed.
Sailoon thought it actually quite calming now. She sat down, making sure not to get too close to it, she didn't have a death wish. The red glow from the lava over came her golden pelt. But it was the only light of the night.

The smell of sulfur was potent, the air thick with ash. A lone, lanky figure padded quickly in the direction of the sea. He wasn't really sure what had possessed him to swim out to the islands on this moonless night, but now that he'd been here for an hour he was quickly regretting the decision. Clearly the volcano wasn't as dormant as it was rumored to be. Coughing up another lungful of ash, the Sennyo was ready to return to the mainland.
Unfortunately, a speedy trip was not to be. Kid was lucky he was so light on his feet. If he hadn't been, the fur of one of his red stockinged forepaws would have just been singed off. It seemed a trail of molten lava had decided to get in his way. To thick to cross on foot, his only choice was to change directions. Had the transparent butterfly wings upon his back been more than just a pretty decoration he would have had an easier time returning to the jungle.
Deft paws carried him along the flow line for what seemed like eternity. He knew it had to reach the sea at some point but at the moment it seemed to be snaking around every rock and tree it came across. He was about to give up and start heading in another direction when finally he found the shore. A relieved sigh parted his jaws; freedom at last.
Kid would have made straight for the ocean and started his swim home had a silhouetted figure not caught his eye at the last minute. His head swerved, followed momentarily by his body. A confident smirk was on his lips as he picked a new direction. After spending so much time by himself, the Sennyo thought it was time to have a little fun. Approaching what he thought to be a female of some sort in the dim light, his prancing step slowed to stop, ending in a gallant bow in front of her. "Well hello there, dahlin'."

How to reach the surface of what remainsSailoon looked up at the moonless sky. At least the stars seemed more brilliant these days. She jumped little ways to the unexpected sound of a male wolf. She got up and spun around, making sure not to step in the lava. "Oh. Sorry, I thought I was the only one here." Sailoon said with a slightly angry voice. She rather be alone than with some strange male that popped out of nowhere. So her feeling was right, of course.
"I am Sailoon." She sighed, sitting back down. Before he said anything though, she had time to decode his wording. He was setting a brute charm... yet slick in poison. Very sharp to the point too. Had the same drowned tone as Elegance. Connection there? That was Sailoon's kind of thing, deciphering a wolf's personality by their first greeting, action, and look. He also smelled of pack. Sailoon was only a loner which was apparent from her slightly bulging ribs from the sides of her golden pelt.
Sailoon coughed a few times without trying because of the ash that fallowed the lava and the up kick of ash that fell from her paws. "Sorry, all this ash is making my lungs burn." She said coughing one more time. 'Damn it, stop looking weak. Thats the worst thing you could do at the moment.' She scolded herself. Yes, she scolded herself often. Almost at ever conversation that ran through her head actually. And every time her mind started to ramble... just like this. She shook her head and looked back up.
"Might I know your identity?"

Kid took a step back, confused by the harsh tone of her voice. He'd thought he was being perfectly friendly, even showing her a bit of respect. Ears pulling back slightly, he stared at the Cale with deep green eyes, a frown marring his yellow face. What had he done to deserve such venom? It had only been a simple greeting.
When she gave her name, all he managed to get out in return was an unpleasant sneeze. Despite the more open land they were in, ash still thickened the air. Dipping his head, he rubbed several times at his offended nose with a red tipped paw. Then he turned back to female looking quite apologetic. "Do excuse me," he started, nose still itching from the ash. He would have gone on had she not apologized for the coughing fit the same black powder had caused. Amused by their shared misfortune, he couldn't help but laugh.
"Please, call me Kid," he finally managed to introduce himself. His tone was surprisingly sweet and innocent, much like his name implied. He was nothing but friendly smiles and happy cheer mixed with a bit of prancing. The Sennyo was finding it hard to sit still. His light, dancing steps caused him to pace back and forth as he glanced several times towards the ocean.
"I was just on my way back to the mainland, though I'm afraid it's a bit too dark for a swim. You wouldn't mind a spot of company until sunrise, would you ma'am? I'm not all that fond of this island." His mouth was set in a half smile as he spoke nothing but the honest truth. Believe it or not, the Sennyo was capable of true conversation. His games never began until he had a better feel for those he chose as toys. That was something he'd learned after his encounter with Flynn.

Heroes are made when you make a choice
Sailoon thought about this for a moment then shook her head. "Not at all." She smiled faintly. Sailoon laughed a little. Her mind wandered back to the irritating black ash that at ever breath she inhaled would inflame her nose and lungs. Sailoon helplessly tried to smack away the ash from her face with one of her paws that had ash on it anyways so only did she make it worse for her. She scowled at herself.
But even through all the thickness of the ash, she could barley identify his pack. It was the same with Elegance. "Might you be part," She quickly coughed. "part of.. the Mafia? I have a good friend in there..." Though in her mind, she saw Elegance Darkly as a murderous friend but friend never the less. It was something she can forgive. Sailoon had only gotten two real friends. Elegance and Ti'ka.
But Ti'ka was much more than a friend... he had turned it into love. It was so cold that night she thought she might have froze to death. Snow should have been falling it was so cold... but Ti'ka came to the rescue to help a stranger Cael. Not that she had any clue if he felt the same.
Sailoon turned her attention back to Kid.

A soft smile and a nod of his head was his simple show of gratitude for the bit of company he'd just earned. Transparent wings fluttered lightly upon his back, dislodging some of the ash that had settled. For a long moment his eyes gazed out over the ocean, taking in the stark contrast it had to the fiery little island. The water seemed so calm and peaceful compared to the suffocating air. Had it not been so dark he definitely would have found it inviting. Then the female broke the silence and his head turned in her direction.
Kid was slightly taken aback. She had figured out his pack alliance so easily. Raising a brow, half his mouth twitched up into a smirk. "You are quite observant, Miss Sailoon." His voice was amused as he spoke. "I've spent some time in the Mafia's land, yes. They don't really strike me as the type to be so friendly, however. Should I be worried for my safety?" A slight chuckle parted his jaws before his eyes turned back to the sea.
