The sweet scents of summer fruits filled the air, a pleasant aroma mixing with the dry heat. Long shadows stretched away from their trees, a sign that it was late afternoon. A few fallen, dried out leaves crunched underfoot as a young female darted this way and that, laughter tumbling from her mouth as she weaved her way between the trees. After a night spent snuggled up within the underground dens it was nice to be on the surface again. The fresh air was refreshing.
Three tails waving happily behind her, Lydia was feeling amazingly light hearted and free. It felt good to run, unhindered for the moment by and worries or fears. The female was exhilarated. Her muscles contracted rhythmically, paws barely touching the ground as she gradually picked up speed. Agility had always been one of her strengths. To have the chance to use it for fun instead of survival was something she decided was akin to pure bliss. The Lyxxus was genuinely happy.

Obi tossed a hard fruit in the air. He watched it with his eyes carefully. It had a red outershell that was hard to crack but the inside was juicy and cool. It was something perfect to play with during warm days.
He jumped up and caught it in his mouth in perfect timeing. It had taken Obi a while to figure out how to get this to work with his big feet. the first few times he had had the unpleasent exprience of having the fruit fall on his head and crack open.
Landing gently on the ground, he used his tongue to gently poke around the fruit to find if there was any cracks. Laughter close by made him lose his concentration. he smelled Lydia.

Lydia continued to laugh as she weaved in and out of the trees, paws slightly stained from the juices of fallen fruits. She still had yet to tire, her body in fine shape from her days spent wandering. For once is was just nice to run without having to run away from something.
Unfortunately, the female had been so focused on her own enjoyment that she'd failed to notice a familiar scent. Obi was near by. Strike that. He was directly in front of her. His red-orange form appeared before she had time to put on the breaks. If she didn't think fast she was going to run right into the poor male.
Eyes widening for a brief second, a smirk caught her lips as she set herself on a course of action. Expending a bit of extra effort, the Lyxxus began sprinting as fast as she could. In a matter of seconds she was practically on top of him. At the last second her agile muscles coiled, launching her into the air and sailing over his form easily. She landed with a soft thud on the other side of him, pivoting to stop with a bell-like giggle. Panting slightly, she trotted towards the male quite happily, a cheery "Hullo, Obi," catching on the wind.

Obi saw Lydia running at him too late. She was going to crash into him. He planted both his feet firmly on the ground and braced himself, tightening all of his muscles. He noticed Lydia's sudden change in muscle movement and watched her soar over him in awe.
"Hello Lydia." His chest vibrated as he chuckled at her. He went over to her and held out the fruit he had been playing with. He quickly realized how stupid that seemed seeing as the fruits outer shell was torn up by his sharp teeth and was now dripping juice onto the ground.
He moved his head to the side, throwing the fruit off into the bushes.
Nuzzling Lydia a quick hello, Obi restrained himself from jumping all over the place in excitment. He would behave, unlike his tails which were flying everywhich way and casting dancing shadows over Obi.
"What brings you here?" He asked, walking around Lydia in an attempt to calm himself down that was failing horribly.

Her own trio of tails wagged quite happily as the male approached her, each held high as they fanned out behind her. She returned his embrace with a chaste lick to his cheek, still panting as she tried to catch her breath. It had been a long time since she'd run just for the sake of running. Now that the thrill was over, she realized she was a little more tired than she'd thought.
As Obi pranced around her, she took the chance to have a seat. Her tails curled around her, resting delicately atop her front paws. When she was asked a question, she couldn't keep her expression from turning coy. She waited until her eyes caught Obi's before she gave her smug reply. "I'll give you three guess."
To add to her challenge, she raised her brow slightly, almost daring him to guess right. The last time they'd done this Obi had scored quiet well and she'd earned membership within the pack. Now was different though. Lydia was playing her own little game, curious to see how smart her friend really was.

Obi stopped at Lydia. Obi could probably turn away a challenge usually. But this, this was a dare. He watched her carefully staring her in the eyes.
"Three guesses?" He thought for a moment. What would he be doing in the orchard. Well that was obvious. He would be playing like he just was. "Okay I say you were playing or..." He sighed. His mind got all confused when he was around Lydia and he could only focus on one thing at a time. He was pretty much stuck on playing.
"I'll stick with playing." He tried for a nod but it came out uncertain so he shook it off by totting closer to Lydia.

Lydia sat herself down, expression expectant as she watched the male like a hawk. That coy, smug smile was still on her maw as she waited. What would be his response? Even if he did guess right, the female had already planned out her answer. Obi was fun to toy with. It was one of the things she really liked about him.
When he finally guessed playing, the lyxxus shook her head in the negative. While her running could have been seen as a form of play, playing had never really been her intention. "Guess again." Her voice was playful, tails wagging again as she waited for him to come up with another answer. It was really cute, the way he was so unsure of himself. She liked that she made him nervous.

"Oh." Obi looked at his paws, upset that his answer was right but then an idea popped in his head. He jumped up smiling, his tails fanning around him. He trotted up to Lydia, eyes sparkling, creating dust with each step. Sitting right in front of her, he looked her up and down, from head to toe, trying to get an idea.
Her paws seemed awefully dirty for just walking. Then Obi had his next guess. He, as gently as he could, nestled his head on her shoulder.
"Were you...running?"

Lydia couldn't keep in her smile as Obi settled closer to her. She nuzzled against him, enjoying his warmth and the natural, musky Obi-scent that was uniquely his. For a moment her eyes drifted closed. She was totally at peace.
And then Obi made his second guess.
Playfulness returning, she ran her tongue up his neck before again shaking her head no. This time he may have been right on the money, but she wasn't going to tell him that. The answer she had in mind was one he'd probably enjoy a lot more anyways. Tilting her head back, silkily she whispered in his ear, "Strike two. Try again."

Obi lazily licked between her ears. He closed his eyes and thought for a second, letting Lydia's fur tickle his nose.
He nibbled her neck gently before lifting his head ever so slightly to take his next guess. He no longer cared all to much about getting the right answer.
"You weren't looking for me by chance."
He rested his head on her shoulder and looked up at her with sparkling blue eyes, taking in every bit of Lydia.
