The sound of the lazy river mixed with the aromatic haze of hardy wildflowers was enough to lull anyone into a peaceful slumber. The Lyxxus slipping down the dried out bank had other plans, however. Three fluffy tails twitched behind her in agitation as she managed to catch her footing. While fishing was the plan she currently had in mind, she had not expected to nearly fall into the shallow riverbed. In fact, such an event was the last thing she wanted to deal with. Lydia wasn't all that fond of being unnecessarily wet.
Thankfully the bank had flattened out before she'd hit the water. That was one of the few perks to summer drying out a good deal of the Plains' water supply. Picking herself up, Lydia shook out her fire colored coat in an attempt to remove the dirt and dust. A displeased scowl was on her face; maybe coming here was a bad idea. Ah well. It was too late for her to change her mind. She was already at the water's edge and her growling stomach demanded to be fed.
Purple eyes peered into the crystalline waters, searching for any signs of life. There had to be fish in there someplace. It was just a matter of luring them close enough to the edge for an easy catch. Huffing, the little female glanced at her surroundings once. She was all on her lonesome and had a sinking feeling this was going to take a while. Lydia wasn't in the mood for patience though. This wasn't what she'd had planned for her day.

Adriane padded through the plains easily, enjoying the scenery. He knew very well that he shouldn't be here- This was another pack's lands and he was a high-ranking member of the pack he now belonged too. Not that he'd been there long, it's just he and Tillix had decided to join one for the sake of safety. Speaking of which, he wondered where that little Lyxxus had gotten off too. He hadn't seen her since they'd joined.
He wasn't about to hunt, he was more just using his senses to search the area for the familiar, seemingly magnetic tug of shiny. Oh yes, metal. It's not like there would be another metal Lupus anywhere near him anytime soon, right? So they had no use for the metal. Even if he did find it, though, Adriane would be careful of what he took- if he took anything.
Jewelry making small, metallic clicks and clangs as he walked, Adriane stopped to admire his own works. Three bangles were on his left ankle. The top one was platinum, the second one was gold, and the one on the bottom was silver. Each had a different design. The top had tiny, simple leaves engraved into it. Gold one was in the shape of a snake. The silver one was just a simple, smooth bangle. Adriane also had a single earring in his right ear, just a silver hoop.
Padding on, Adriane decided to stop for a drink. There was water nearby- he could smell it. When he got there he lapped up some of the cold liquid before noticing a smell- Lyxxus, he could tell. He looked over to see a little female seemingly struggling along the bank. For a moment his heart soared- Tillix! It must be Tillix!
But a moment later, scent and sight confirmed it was not his beloved. Although she was the same fire-red/orange color, she was not Tillix. Adriane was a little disappointed, but not too much. After all, he could still talk to her, right? He bounded up to her and barked in his high-pitched voice. "Hellooooo there! My, what a lovely day, no?"

Lydia heard the approach long before she caught sight or stench of the stranger's arrival. Every step he took was accompanied by this strange, unnatural, bell-like sound. It rang in her ears and shattered her concentration. Glowering at the river, she batted a paw against its surface. Several water droplets sprayed up from the hit before rejoining their parent source. Dissatisfied with her act of aggression, Lydia repeated it a second time to less desirable effects. The water splashed up her, getting her wet.
Growling now, she pointedly turned her back to the river. She was a selfish little bitch sometimes and liked to hold grudges. Since there was no one else around, the water would just have to be on the receiving end of her stubborn temper. On top of that, the metal chinking sound was steadily growing louder. It wasn't a sound she liked at all and every time it caught her ears she found it hard not to wince.
Eyes narrowed, she sat herself down and began mentally grumbling about her horrible day. It seemed like nothing was going right for her. Of course, she hadn't really done much today other than wander off on her own in order to fish. Sometimes she just liked to complain for the sake of complaining. Only when a voice broke her thoughts did she find a new outlet for her pointless frustration. Turning her head, there before her stood Mr. Ching-a-ling in all his metallic glory. So that's what had been making that awful sound.
"Lovely is debatable." Her words were court, her nose angled slightly upwards in contempt. The stranger had barely said two words to her and yet she'd already decided she did not like him. His walk made a funny noise and he'd interrupted her silent brooding. That right there was enough to earn a snap judgment from the snobby Lydia. It probably didn't help that she was having a self-proclaimed bad day as well.
